[PRP] A place to call our own (Shun / Mitsu)

[Inu-Mitsu]

For a while Mitsu had been hard at work to find just the right place for Shun and her live. Needless to say it had been a fruitless effort. The places in question were either very run down or far too pricey to be manageable. They didn't need a lot of space but she wanted their first place together to be nice or maybe she was putting to much thought into it. It was hard for her to tell, but she had a few new places on her list to check out today so hopefully something would come of it. That and maybe Shun would help narrow things down a bit.

"Do you want to check out Whispering Hollow Apartments first or Raven's View?" Mitsu looked at the pages she had printed trying to decide what order would be the best. She honestly had no idea what was closer. "I also have Hobble Creek."

Finding a suitable place to live was a struggle to say in the least. Just any old place wouldn't really do. This wasn't just for himself but for his fiance as well, after all. He wasn't too picky about their actual new home. However, it did need to be functional and in decent condition. It wouldn't go well if the roof was coming down on their heads... literally.

Shun tilted his head as Mitsu gave off a few possibilities for where to check out first.

"Let's take a look at Whispering Hollow. Raven's view is a little further away," he noted. He rolled his shoulders lightly, then made sure he had everything on him.

"Hobble Creek is even further off," he added, "Are you ready to head out, then?"  

[Inu-Mitsu]

"Yes, I think I have everything." Mitsu folded the pages and stuffed them into the messenger bag at her side. She had all the basic details about the places but seeing them in person was completely different.

"So Whispering Hollow it is. Maybe we can grab something to eat after." She suggested.

With a nod, Shun began to walk on out. For now, they were going to have to go on foot. However, once they had finished moving and stuff, he figured he should be able to bring his bike... assuming there was a garage or some place nearby where he could park the damn thing.

"That sounds good. These things can take ages sometimes," he stated with a light grumble. Shaking his head, he took a moment to recall where the apartment building they were headed towards exactly, then started in that direction.

"What do you know about the first place we're stopping by?"

"Seems so. I didn't think finding a nice place would be so hard." Mitsu sighed a bit in echo of Shun's grumble. It was a little frustrating but then again so was adulthood.

As they walked Mitsu opened up her messenger bag again and pulled out the paper for Whispering Hollow. "They have one, two and three bedroom apartments available. Walking distance from a few shops in town and a few of their apartments are newly remodeled and the price isn't bad. It says its a little tucked away out of view but the pictures of some of the apartments look nice." Mitsu held up the paper to show Shun what she had found.

The paper contained only a few select pictures mostly of the kitchen area, living room and a bedroom since those would be mostly the same throughout any of the apartments. The kitchen was nice and open, or at least it appeared that way, with a center island and all dark wood and fake marble counter tops. The living room was fairly small but big enough to accommodate a decent amount of furniture and the bedroom was much the same.

"No s**t," he stated while shaking his head. Shun placed his hands into his pockets then glanced over towards her as she picked out some paper regarding the first apartment building, gandering more at the pictures that were there. The kitchen shown looked pretty nice, actually. He'd be able to do some actual proper cooking rather than being limited to a portable electric stove in a dorm room.

"Sounds promising so far. We'll have to see how it holds up when we arrive," he nodded. It was easy to talk up the good parts of any place. There was no telling if there were any dark secrets lurking.

"That's the building up ahead," he noted while motioning down the street.

Mitsu nodded at that. Seeing the place in person would tell them a lot more than what a little paper could. She had taken some notes on things to look out for as far as what problems others had run into. Hopefully the place would check out and they wouldn't run into any trouble.

Looking up ahead Mitsu could just barely see the main office of the apartments. Whispering Hollow should have been named Hidden Hollow because the apartments in question were hidden back behind several trees and other buildings. Not that it really mattered but at least the paper had been true to its word.

"Well, lets go to the main office and see if we can look at an apartment. Do you want to see a one or two bedroom?" A three bedroom would be nice with a lot of room but at the same time they didn't have a whole lot at the moment. A one or two bedroom would be the perfect size and a little cheaper.

Shun tilted his head in thought as she brought up the room options. The two of them could easily share a bedroom, though he wasn't completely certain if she wanted some extra space.

"Let's aim for a two bedroom. The second room could either be yours or if you don't mind sharing with me, it could be a little extra space."

Or if anyone needed to stay over for whatever reason. Not that he was expecting that to happen often.

Mitsu smiled softly. "I don't think sharing will be an issue."

Once they were at the main office Mitsu opened the door and walked inside. At the desk just to the right of the door sat an impossibly small old lady writing diligently with a quill. Several of her words and numbers ended with a expert flourish that Mitsu would expect to see on invitations to a fancy party.

Standing there for several moments Mitsu waited for the woman to finish what she was writing but that moment never came. The woman continued to focus through her thick lens glasses at whatever she was writing.

"Umm...excuse me....Ma'am?" Apparently Mitsu wasn't loud enough because that didn't seem to get the old lady's attention. Confused Mitsu looked back at Shun. She didn't really want to interrupt.

"Then we'll share," he nodded softly. Once inside, Shun took a moment to look around, taking in the general surroundings of the lobby. He didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the receptionist herself. That was, until Mitsu began to speak with her. Well. Try to.

The one eyed reaper blinked at his werewolf, then turned more towards the lady at the desk.

"...Oi," he started before furrowing his brow, "Excuse us."

Even after Shun's addition to try and get the elder woman's attention it seemed like she couldn't hear them.

"H...hello?" Mitsu cautiously walked forward hoping not to startle the old lady. "We were hoping to look at an apartment?"

She got nothing but luckily for them both a young man entered the room, his hands full of papers. He took a quick look at them both and then at the elderly woman.

"Oh sorry. She's a little hard of hearing. MILLY! MILLY WE HAVE GUESTS!" His voice seemed to startle the little old woman out of her focus enough to look up, squinting her eyes at Shun and Mitsu. She pushed her glasses up and into place to get a better look, the lenses making her eyes comically large.

"Oh, hello dearies. Is there something I can help you with?"

As the other man came on in, Shun twitched as he began to shout to get the old woman's attention. That was... more than a 'little hard of hearing.'

"We're here to look at your available apartments," he said, speaking in a somewhat louder tone than what he would normally talk in. He hoped he wasn't going to have to shout at her just to communicate. That would be... wearisome.

"Your advertisement papers said you have some two bedroom apartments available."  

[Inu-Mitsu]

"Say again, young man?"

"APARTMENTS MILLY! THEY WANT TO LOOK AT APARTMENTS!" The young man continued.

"Oh!" The old woman seemed delighted and hopped away from her desk, her quill in the mean time continuing to write in the same flourished lettering without her aid. She could barely look over the top of the desk she was so small but she moved with a deliberate speed that was surprising.

Mitsu's ears laid back. She wasn't terribly fond of the yelling but it seemed to be the only thing the old lady could hear.

After a moment the elder witch returned with a ring full of keys. "Come, come you will look at apartments." She waved them to follow and without being told the young man left all his things at her desk and followed opening the door ahead of her and waiting for Mitsu and Shun to follow.

Taking in a breath Mitsu gave Shun a somewhat awkward look that said something between 'Oh dear Sally' and 'Well...let's get going I guess.'

Once more, Shun twitched as yelling was required. He glanced over at Mitsu, hoping her sensitive ears were alright. She seemed fine, if not.. looking a little awkward after what had just transpired. Then shaking his head, he went on and followed the elderly witch to see what she had to show them.

In the very least, he supposed they could easily murmur to one another without the witch overhearing them.

The witch began to toddle in the direction of the apartments, though the young man that was with her steered her in specific direction. He at least knew that they wanted to see a two room apartment without being yelled at.

The apartment they finally arrived to was in a building further to the back, nestled in a dark corner. They all followed the witch to the second floor where she popped the key into a door and turned it with a click. The young man then opened the door and gestured for everyone to head inside to have a look.

Mitsu peeked her head inside first, looking at the short hallway that opened up into the living room beyond. She could see the kitchen from where they were. It was open to see with a long counter separating it from the living room.

"The two bedroom apartments are nice. Plenty of closet space." The young man began to explain opening up a small door just as they entered to demonstrate. "There is a small balcony just beyond the kitchen," He pointed to a glass door on the opposite side of the kitchen but not much could be seen except trees and another building. "To your left there is another hallway which branches off into the two rooms if you would like to check it out."

Mitsu had taken up amusing herself with the cabinets in the kitchen but headed down the hall toward the other bedrooms as instructed. The whole place was in darker tones but at least they had been well picked out. "I like the kitchen but the balcony is a little..." Shun could probably guess that Mitsu wasn't fond of the constant view of heights but at least it was only on the second floor.
