[Fight] Sabit vs. Gaspard

Sabit was still reeling when the fighting began, disoriented and only dimly aware of her surroundings, feeling as though she'd been struck over the head. She needed to move, defend herself, fight! The Borclu staggered to her feet to face their attackers, but the episode had left her momentarily defenseless.

If it had been some kind of warning, that had to be about the worst possible form it could have taken.

If this had been a spar, a battle with his own people, Gaspard wouldn't have hit the lioness while dazed. This was hardly the case, though, and the sandy lion lunged towards the dark figure of his foe with a snarl on his maw and a roar ripping from his lungs.

All of his weight was behind his movement as he went to strike, claws outstretched and teeth bared. This was no time for talking; he cared not what the Qyrhy had to say. He only wanted its blood.

She heard him, saw him, knew that he was coming for her and that it was going to hurt, and she tried to move, or did she just think about trying to move? She might as well have, for all the good at did her.

The blurred - heavy - form of the enemy lion hit her full-force, knocking the wind out of her, and the claws- so sharp-

Sabit fell, gasping and flailing ineffectually.

Gaspard had no mercy for his enemy. The lioness did not seem to be from this land; her fur color was unusual and she must have been born elsewhere. Regardless, she had chosen to side with the Qyrhy and that was reason enough to shed blood. The burly lion turned back to her quickly and snarled.
"Qyrhy scum. Quite the gall you have, coming into our lands And with foreign fighters, at that. Fools." His words were low and growling and he spared little time for words as he lunged again, not giving her the time to ground herself before he went to strike again.

She needed time, just- just a moment, a chance to get ahold of herself, stop the spinning in her mind, convince her limbs to do as they were told. He said something, something garbled and irrelevant but probably unpleasant, and while he was saying it she managed to get her feet underneath her and stand.

...just in time to be struck again. Sabit staggered, but this time kept her feet.

Gaspard's eyes twitched an narrowed as the lioness got to her feet. He couldn't let her get solid footing. The lion had the advantage, now, but he wasn't foolish enough to get cocky and let the advantage get the best of him. He wasn't going to slip. He was better with that.

The Burkut slid in the sand. It was the terrain he was born in. The one he learned to fight in. He was prepared for this. He snarled, narrowing his eyes at her before lunging again, a clawed paw outstretched and aimed for her legs.

He was coming at her again, going for her accursed legs just when she'd finally gotten them underneath her again! She knew she would never be able to move out of the way in time to avoid him completely, not with paws like lead. She managed to lurch to the side just enough to keep her legs from being swept out from underneath her, but still took a painful blow.

Sabit set her jaw, refusing to make a sound, and brought up a paw to try to strike him.
