User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. With a final heave, Rise pushed the large rock into place and critically viewed its position, judging its appeal and functionality. The straight line of his mouth soon broke into a smile - the patriarch of Rise & Shine was satisfied. A swift turn of his head and he offloaded the assorted goods he was carrying - assorted salted meat, dried fruit, a few fresh saltwater fish for variety and some sauteed goods, most of them herb-infused to fit the floral theme.

He and Fell were there to lead the proud delegation from Rise & Co. Preserved and Exotic Foods, the premiere food supplier of the swamp specialising in all manner of gastronomic delights. The shop had grown from humble preserved-and-salted beginnings to a large business with a stunning variety of food prepared in an astonishing variety of ways, thanks to the arrival of their fire salamander (now plural). Their last stocktake was a good one, readying them for the flower festival, and even attracted new tribe members. Rise hoped this would be the case today too.

But it was too early to entertain such indulgent thoughts - they'd just arrived, after all! With a beam he beckoned the trailing Kin - his 'family' - over to the rock. Their range of food would hopefully draw Kin over, and samples would be abundant. Rise was very excited about what they had to offer.

OOC Note:
Rise & Shine is as described above - a fairly large tribe running a lucrative and fulfilling food business! We have food for sampling and trade at the festival, and are happy to welcome both customers and potential new recruits. Feel free to drop by to eat, drink, be merry and possibly be hired! Visit the thread for more details on the tribe.

Long Ago and the mess of pets she had accumulated were naturally in attendance; the slug with a sling of vines and leaves piled high with fungus; the pig constantly tripping her up while it tried to hide behind her hooves; and the mongoose bouncing excitedly from its perch on her back. "Hey! Stop trying to eat those!" she chided the slug as it curled around to flick a few of the more...potent mushrooms from the sling. It was a wonder they'd arrived at all.

User Image Tipsy and her helpers started moving her wine-filled logs into place. They sloshed merrily, secretive and happy. She worked to nudge them into a line, weaving here and there. She'd had to sample the stuff this morning to make sure that not a single log had gone off, and it left her giggly and slightly off-kilter. She flirted with her helpers, so cheerful it was almost, but not quite, too much.

Peck fluttered in, feathers flying, and settled atop a log. Now that the travelling was over, the little chicken was content to snooze on a log and ignore everyone.

Talon wasn't sure what to expect at the festival, but he was hoping to learn something new. Something that may even inspire a new creation.

((OOC: if you'd like to know what the racks are exactly, I have them explained back in the tribe))

As promised, Killing Moon led Sunlit Rock straight to Rise&Shine's stall. Setting up was going well, he noted. There was a small niggle of guilt as he approached. He probably should have been here helping out and instead of wandering around the festival. But he pushed that thought away almost instantly. He would bring his considerable selling talents to use later on. The buck nodded politely to the tribe members currently preparing their wares

"Take a look." He offered to the doe at his side.

Oh goodness I love reading and responding to your posts. biggrin We have to have them interact again, it would be a pity for it to end here.

Sunlit Rock followed Killing Moon toward Rise&Shine's stall, looking around as she went. Though her eyes lay mostly at their destination and the buck she walked with, she did glance now and again at the other flower stalls they had passed. When they finally arrived, she grinned. "Well, this is much more then I imagined." She glanced around at the other kin, and the food they were setting out. "I had not expected such a bounty, I can see why you are able to sell food and drink with such a array of options." It seemed she was talking about more then the food, as her eyes seemed to fall on the kin when she accented certain words, but she did mean it. The shear amount of food, the free samples, was more then she had expected. "So, what do you do?" She asked, looking up at him from the corner of her eye. "I'd love to see where your talent lies." She smirked playfully.

Aaah! ;o; That's so nice of you to say! <3 For sure, they're quite fun. xD Sunlit makes me laugh!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Indeed. There is no lacking of options within the tribe." Killing Moon agreed and while his tone was fairly bland, one look at his face showed he was very close to laughter. "What do I do?" He looked at her with a smile. "I convince pretty does to become regular customers, of course." He moved forward, approaching Tipsy's wine-filled logs. "My specialty is sales."

User ImageTipsy wobbled over, grinning, and winked at Killing Moon. "Yes! Hello! How are you two this fine day? Wanting some free samples, I expect?" This was exciting! Mostly she stuck to her workspace, and didn't interact with many folk.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Smash-and-Mash, for her part, was inwardly rolling her eyes at this whole flower festival thing. While flowers were... nice, she supposed, they were largely useless for her purposes. Smashed flowers just gave you a pulpy, inedible, slimy mess. You could bruise them or muddle them and use them for infusions, but you had to be so delicate about it, and delicate was boring. Really, what made this festival at all worthwhile was getting to come down and mingle with so many other kin. That was pretty fun. Nudging a turtleshell of one of her more interesting concoctions (crushed jasmine and mint in water that had been heated to a boil by one of the tribe's salamanders), she glanced around to see what the rest of her tribe was doing. She had set up not too far from one of the tribe's other purveyors-of-beverage, the scarlet acha with the wine- Tipsy, that was her name- and she grinned as she saw Killing Moon and a pretty doe heading towards her. There was nothing like Tipsy's wine in the swamp, to be sure!

I'm glad. There's generally a change people will either find her hilarious or really really creepy, so I try to warn people. xd

Sunlit Rock, once again pleasantly surprised by Killing Moon's reaction to her comments, looks at him as he tries to hide his laughter. She smirks. "Well, you've succeeded in drawing one pretty doe, you going to convince me to turn regular?" Sunlit Rock grins, her slightly unnervingly large grin. "You're doing pretty well so far." She winks before turning her grin on the Acha they were approaching. "Why yes, that sounds lovely." Once again, she accents the word oddly, but this time it seems more in a joking attempt to make her sound flighty. "So, is the salesman or the seller going to tell me of these free samples? Don't push over each other now, I can be patient." Her grin widened, something that would not seem possible normally. At about this point she noticed the Totoma heading in their direction, but she decided she could address that kin when she actually arrived.

The Killing Moon grinned at Tipsy in greeting and peered into the liquid filled log. "I'll allow Tipsy to do the work this time. While I'm sure I could give a suitable sell of her product, I think she'll do it far better than myself." He said and then glanced across at the next stall where Smash-and-Mash was watching them. "And then we can move on to our other beverage maker."

User ImageTipsy bowed her head and then grinned at them both. "I have for you today a lovely concoction of marigolds, raisins, orange, lemon, and honey. This blend has been fermented, and it is almost a mead, but I call it marigold wine. It has a strong, floral taste with lovely citrus notes and a fruity taste from the golden raisins I used." She tapped the wax on the seal and pried it open, making a space big enough to sip at the rich wine.

Glad to hear it. She mostly gets very... um... not caring about boundaries and personal space? xd I'm glad he's RPing with her, I think they get along in a very fun/amusing way.

Patmos of Endtimes
That sounds interesting, did you just make that up, or is it from something?

User Image

"Aw, well suit yourself." Sunlit Rock said smirking at Killing Moon before looking back to the Acha who was apparently called Tipsy. She didn't get much change to respond to the rest of his comment about the other beverage seller before Tipsy began speaking. The description was... interesting. It seemed like it would go well together, as far as she knew, but it wasn't what she expected to hear. Stepping forward as Tipsy uncorked the log, so that's what it was for, she sniffed. It smelled good enough, so she took a few laps before blinking a few times and grinning. "Nice. Sweet yet strong. Savory. I like it. Could get one very... Tipsy." Sunlit Rock said, her grin widening and her eyes sparkling with amusement. She seemed to chuckle in the back of her throat at the 'joke.'

Forlorn sat in the shade, unmoving save quiet glances at each item that was sold, bartered, or sampled away, mentally ticking down the stores she had memorised in her head - all in neat little rows, infallible, or at least, as infallible as a still-living mind could get.

The slightest lull - she turned her head to regard the little party at Tipsy's wines. Ah, yes, The Killing Moon. Deadly as ever.

"Impressive. You're a true master, Tipsy. Even the smell is intoxicating." The Killing Moon complimented as the Acha talked about her drink and Sunlit went in for a taste. "Perhaps I could convince you to make me an apricot wine once the festival is done."

As if sensing he had someone else's attention, his gaze slid sideways to meet Forlorn's. A quick barely noticeable nod and a there-and-gone devious smile was all he offered before he turned back to the others.
