[PRP] New Days and Bright Futures (Azure and Dyas)

Bright blue eyes slowly blinked open, and looked around confused. The male rolled over in the bed he had been asleep in and once he saw Dyas the confusion disappeared. Azure still hadn't gotten used to the new home and sleeping next to another pae, even the one he loved. He still couldn't believe that this wasn't a dream every morning he woke.

It had been strange at first, Azure hadn't been sure whether he should join Dyas in her bed or not. It was an incredibly intimate thing, and the male was haunted by what he remembered of Raken's face staring at Azure sleeping in the same bed as his daughter. It was a horrible, buzzkill of a thought. Even with that thought, Azure hadn't wanted to separate from Dyas and he was sure she hadn't wanted to separate from her either.

Azure smiled softly at Dyas and brushed his lips against her shoulder and then attempted to quietly slip out of the bed and towards the kitchen. About 15 minutes later he returned with two plates of strawberries and cooked eggs. "Good morning Dyas," he grinned as he sat on the edge of the bed.

If the heaven described in her books existed, this was surely it. The female tucked in a warm ball of blankets, head on her pillow and a smile on her lips. Her dreams of late were all so pleasant and today was no exception. When the warmth of his body disappeared, she curled up just a little bit tighter, but didn't wake. Her dream was too sweet to part with. In her little dreamworld, 15 minutes seemed like a mere second, and before she knew it her conscious was floating back to reality. Good morning Dyas. The words rung through her head as her dual colored eyes flicked open. She offered a small, sleepy smile at the male while pushing her body into a sitting position. Breakfast in bed? He had to be the sweetest pae on the entire island. She leaned over and gently kissed his cheek.

Azure lifted his legs up onto the bed and handed Dyas a plate as he sat himself next to her. "Your breakfast" he said in an over-the-top, cheesy voice. It seemed every obstacle that had caused them problems was now gone in its entirety. It was nice to enjoy this carefree sort of dating where he could just focus on Dyas and nothing else.

Azure felt a new sense of life with Dyas by his side, he leaned over to kiss her on the forehead, all the pain was slowly starting to disappear. "As much as I enjoy hiding away in our little cave together... would you like to get out of here today?" Azure asked her, he didn't have any ideas yet, but thought it was about time they branched out from cuddling and making googly faces at each other, while pretending the rest of the world didn't exist.

She gratefully accepted the plate, popping a piece of strawberry into her mouth with a grin. The female nuzzled in close, pulling her body against his as she settled for her meal. Still grinning at the idea of leaving, she bit her lower lip and nodded. It had been a blissful few days, but perhaps it was finally time to enter the world of pae once again. Beneath their feet, the shadows shuddered. "Anywhere in mind?" It would have to be nearby, as she couldn't leave the near vicinity of the cave. Her promise was still in place. But there was the Chai'en River and the Fae clearing not too far, and of course the Lagoon. She took a bite out of her egg, a little bit of yolk dripping down her chin.

Azure couldn't help but chuckle at the bit of egg dripping down Dyas' chin, but he quickly lifted his finger to her chin and gently wiped it away. Azure tried to think of the places that were at a nearby walking distance, he didn't want to go to the river, that would be awkward since Brandy had lived near there. The lake might be a little too far, even if it was probably a nice day for it outside. "Hm, why don't we pack a picnic and head towards the clearing?" Azure suggested, "Unless you have something else in mind, I mean, you've been in here for a while..."

The normally self-sufficient pae blushed warmly when she realized she had yolk on her face, gently kissing his cheek in thanks. It was positively delicious. She watched his face carefully as the wheels in his head turned, eager for the answer. Dyas quickly shook her head with a grin. A picnic at Fae Clearing sounded perfect. The clearing had a special place in her heart, as it was her fathers favorite training spot. And packing for the picnic would be just as much fun as the picnic itself. She finished off her strawberries before sliding off the bed. In her mind she was already thinking of the various items they could take.

Azure was surprised at how quickly Dyas was getting off the bed. It seemed like he was always having to quickly chow down his food in order to catch up with her, he was always just so distracted by his beautiful female and everything related to her. It was one of those times today, he quickly finished up the breakfast, Dyas' egg yolk on her chin was nothing compared to both the egg and strawberry guts that covered Azure's face when he was done. "I guess that's a yes," Azure winked at her as he slid off the bed as well.

The starred hybrid couldn't help her enthusiasm. In the past three seasons the only fun she had outside was the little chase her and Azure did when getting fruit salad. She grinned at his messy face, tapping on her own to let him know half of his breakfast had made it onto his cheeks. Smoothly taking up the stone plates, she gave a small cute smile and bobbed her head towards the doorway for him to follow before sashaying out. The kitchen was the first destination to clean up breakfast, then they both had to wash up from their meal. Perhaps she should look into making actual forks...

Azure's face froze as he quickly realized what Dyas was trying to communicate to him. His cheeks flushed as he mopped up the food with his forearm. He gave her a sheepish grin and then continued on to the kitchen. "Do you have a basket or something we could use... a blanket?" Azure asked her as they entered the kitchen and started pulling out things they might pack for a lunch. It was then Azure decided to bring up something that had been on his mind that morning. "Hey... do you think you would ever consider moving up to Telrunya City? I know it would be a big change for you considering you've been living in caves your whole life." Azure was staring at the food that he gathered as he spoke to her, almost afraid to see her reaction to something that had almost come out of the blue.

She nodded happily at the first question. Raken had gone on a picnic before with Ivy, using one of the many baskets they had collected when pae'il were still delivered that way. She picked up one of the buckets of water kept in the kitchen, and started washing the plates. The next question though froze her in her tracks, and dual colored eyes flashed over to the male. Leave...the forest? A look of confusion. The forest was all she had ever known. From what she had read, cities were full of pae'il and the poor hybrid was...well, socially awkward at times. She was used to catching her own food, bathing in a waterfall and meditating among the wildlife. The thought of doing a complete 180 to everything she knew was terrifying. But then another thought crossed her mind, and a frown replaced her confusion. If Azure brought such an absurd idea up, he must have been thinking about it. He might want to live in the City... She would do anything to make the male happy. Her expression became distraught, the plates limp in her hands; forgotten. She would have no trouble tackling a bear with nothing but a spear, but her skin was pins and needles at the prospect of leaving. But how could she disappoint him? When he had sacrificed for her...how could she say no if he asked? With a flash of despair, the hybrid finally nodded her head. If moving to Telrunya City would make him happy, she would do so.

Azure finally couldn't hold out any longer, and he turned around to see how Dyas had reacted. She was nodding her head yes, but her body seemed frozen in no. "You don't have to..." Azure started before correcting himself, "We don't have to. I just thought it might be nice... its different living up there I'm sure." Azure actually imagined it was a lot like HQ, where he grew up with everything at his disposal, but it wasn't how Dyas grew up. Azure's facial expression was hesitant before he switched the topic back to the picnic, he didn't want to force such a huge change on Dyas. "Where did you say this basket was?" Azure asked.

After growing up with the male, she should have known he would read her body language like a book. She looked away, feeling like she disappointed him. He was so kind to try and push the matter back under the rug. She mouthed 'sorry' to the male and set the plates on the stone shelf before walking out of the room. Down the hall and two the left, there was a dip in the wall where they placed wooden slabs for a makeshift closet. She picked up the red basket where Amara and Tristen had been left on her grandmothers doorstep so many seasons ago.

Azure walked over to Dyas and put a solid hand on her shoulder and gripped her gently. "Hey... it's okay Dyas." he smiled softly at her before allowing her to go and get the basket. Azure began to assemble the meal while she was gone, silent in his own thoughts. Maybe it had been too soon to spring something like that on her. He would give up on the notion for now, and enjoy their picnic date together.

Her fingers slowly slid over the twisted wood of the basket as she became lost within her thoughts. Why did he want to go to the City anyway? Was her cave not good enough? Was the way she lived unsatisfactory? She deeply frowned. Did he secretly think she was barbaric? As anger licked the corners of her mind, she sharply shook her head. What is the matter with me...Azure would never. Her face heated with shame that for even an instant she had become upset with him. Having read up on Psychology, she knew that her previous fear had triggered her flight response. Subconsciously she sought a way to escape going to the City, which materialized as blame. Shaking her head once more, she opened the basket to see a checkered blanket from Rakens past date with Ivy. Perfect. She walked back towards the kitchen, all smiles to belie her earlier ire.

"Thanks Dyas," Azure said as he turned around to see her coming back into the kitchen with a basket in tow. The male put down what he was working on to meet her and take the basket off her hands. "This will be perfect." He smiled at her, trying to move past what they had talked about earlier. The male felt like it had been the first and closest to a fight that they had ever been in. Even if it wasn't a fight, it was a strange feeling the first time you didn't see eye to eye with your loved one. He gave her a soft kiss on the cheek, followed by a nuzzle before returning to the lunch he had been preparing to load it into the basket.
