User ImageThe day of the strange cave incident Azure had been looking for a different cave, one he never found. The male just wanted closure that was all, he wanted the freedom to finally move on if he so chose. Azure hadn't found anything even similar to what he remembered Raken's cave looking like though. Perhaps he had gone too far? It was hard to tell since he hadn't left from headquarters like he was used to.

He was ready to give up, he had given one last shot at looking for his love, Dyas, and that was it. As he had moved away from that strange cave though, his heart had started to fill with hope again. Azure wanted to try one more thing, and then he would be done for good. He started off at the rubble of what once was headquarters and began walking down a path that had once been so familiar to him. Azure stopped somewhere in Loka Nei forest when he came upon a dark cave, similar to the one he remembered, it only seemed smaller. "Hello?!" Azure called out into the cave, it echoed off of the walls and only dust seemed to stir.

User Image It had been seasons since her father had randomly disappeared, and still she kept her promise. His words rang loudly in her head as he ran off, promising to be back. He promised...and when her dad promised something, he meant it. She spent her days in her room, writing, reading or practicing her power. After so long, she had gotten pretty good at it. She could create featureless pae to talk and move, but it still took a great deal of effort. Then...the impossible happened. 'Hello?' Echoed through the caves chambers, finally reaching her own. The first voice she had heard in...so so long. Maybe it was word of her father. Quickly she roused a black mound.

"Hello?! I'm coming up!" The voice projected back.

Azure narrowed his eyes curiously when a voice responded, it wasn't a voice he recognized. It certainly wasn't the voice of Raken, and Dyas had never had a voice. It wouldn't be entirely impossible for someone new to take up residency in their cave, lots of pae had to look for homes outside headquarters. He pulled back defensively, there was no reason to bother a stranger. He didn't want to meet a stranger, there was only one pae he had wanted to see. Azure's heart pained with the final realization that Dyas was truly gone. His wings drooped as he started to turn away.

As soon as she sent the voice projection, she was on her feet running towards the opening. She had promised to not leave the area until Raken came back, and she kept that. Only leaving for food, the thought of seeing another living Pae...especially if they had news of her father or... Azure... her heart leaped at the thought before she quieted it. Of course it wasn't Azure...She hadn't heard from him since before her father left. She squinted her eyes as she neared the exit, the bright light almost blinding.

Azure could hear the sound of footsteps running inside the cave, he sighed heavily. It was no use, he needed to go. Azure was starting to walk away, but he gave on quick glance over his shoulder to symbolically say goodbye to... Dyas?! He blinked a few times and then rubbed his eyes, that couldn't really be her... could it? She looked just like he remembered her, but that was how she looked in his dreams too, and those were not real. "Dyas...?" There was an air of hope in his voice, but it mostly sounded pained. He hadn't even said her name out loud in so long it hurt to say it. If it was her... where would he even begin? Azure hadn't planned out searching for her any farther then searching.

She sharply blinked to adjust her eyes, trying to see who her visitor was. Her feet pounded on the rock bottom of her cave, and with one final push she vaulted herself into the daylight. No...it...it cannot... If she could have cried out she would have. Azure. It was her blue pae love. Wait. She forgot to stop running. She skidded to a halt just a few feet from the male, eyes fixated on his face. Her heart was suddenly beating a mile a minute. He...he came back...He really came back. Tears sprung to her eyes as she hesitantly stepped a little closer to him.

Azure's heart stopped within his chest as the light hit her, his beautiful angel, Dyas. He wouldn't have cared if she had run right into him, but she had stopped as well. As Dyas moved closer to him, he finally was able to move and step forward, every step bringing them closer. Azure finally stopped when there was just a breath between them and lifted his hand to her cheek. She was real. Azure took a deep breath as tears welled up in his eyes. He had so many questions for her, questions that would be completely overwhelming for her to answer. His heart began pounding back to life with great fervour, he could feel every pulse within his entire body. He didn't even know where to begin.
"I... where have you been?" Azure's voice was gentle, this was his Dyas, but he still sounded wounded.

When his hand reached up she quickly placed her own on top of his to press against her cheek. She struggled not to blink, knowing that as soon as she did it would push the tears from her eyes and down her face. Using her own shadow, she pushed her mental voice through.

"Hiding...Dad left seasons ago...he told me to hide until he came back."

With her free hand she reached up to place over his heart, her tears finally breaking free. She had missed him...so very much.

It felt like he was melting with Dyas' hand over his. Azure had no shame in letting the tears freely flow down his face, he had been holding back a good cry for a long time now. He was a little surprised when the voice spoke again, he had almost completely forgotten that he had heard a voice. This was Dyas voice... he seemed to remember that she had been starting to talk to him close to the end. "You've been... hiding... all this time? Here?" There was some sense of anger in his voice, he was frustrated.

Once again Raken had kept him from his love by making her hide... and yet Azure had never found her, he was angry at himself as well. Azure had never felt anger towards Dyas before, but he even felt some towards her now, why had she listened or not found a way to get a hold of him. Azure couldn't help but frown, it was a solemn frown. Until she put her hand on his heart and began to cry herself... even if it seemed to Azure that there was no reason they ever should have been apart, he could tell that she still cared for him and the pain was only there because he loved her so much.

Azure was at a loss for words, but they had never needed words before. "Is your father alright?" Azure asked her about the other man in her life.

She nodded solemnly when asked if she had been hiding. It seemed so ridiculous to hide all this time...but most pae didn't understand the importance of promises to Dyas. To break one to her seemed unfathomable. So when her father promised he would be back, she knew he would be back. And she would continue waiting until he returned, just as she promised to him. It wasn't to say she didn't feel bad. The anger in his voice made her heart twinge painfully. She never wanted to hurt him...but how could she keep her promise and let him know where she was at the same time? She wasn't strong enough to send a shadow puppet out on it's own. She couldn't even make a full shadow puppet yet. Then, the second question. The purple pae winced before shrugging her shoulders and looking away painfully. She didn't know.

Azure felt bad when she winced and shrugged, knowing what she meant. Her father still wasn't back and Dyas didn't know anything more then he did about it, it seemed. "I'm sorry Dyas... it must have been hard being here on your own." It was difficult to be angry at her, even if he wanted to let out all his frustrations of the seasons he had spent pining for her. "Come on, let's go inside and sit down... unless you would rather stay out here?" Azure rubbed his arm with his free hand. It was a strange feeling to be back with her, it was a lot of feelings really and he didn't know what to do with any of them.

When he apologized, she shook her head quickly. If anyone were to apologize, it was her. How could she possibly let him know how badly she felt for making him sad? With the hand on his, she pulled it down to use it to lead him back towards the cave. It was better if they sat and talked. Well. 'Talked'. They both had feelings that needed to come out. She tightly squeezed his hand, trying to convince herself that he was really there. He was real, and he wasn't going anywhere for now.

Azure slowly nodded his head in understanding and followed her back to the cave, thinking about the last time they had been together as he did. Dyas had no idea what he had been about to do that day, and now was not the time to tell her. "I missed you so much." Azure wasn't sure if he had said that already, but he didn't care he would say it a thousand times over. "I couldn't live without you Dyas... so much has happened on this place and I would have let it all swallow me whole."

As the male spoke, she became slower and slower until freezing partway into the cave. Couldn't live without her? Tears sprung anew in her eyes as she turned around. Azure... She suddenly wrapped her arms around the blue pae, pulling her body close against his in a tender embrace. Softly crying, her head buried itself into the crook of his neck. Life wasn't worth living without you either. She thought to herself, holding on tight.

Azure took a deep breath, he hadn't realized how long he had been holding it for. He was silent as she held herself against him, right where she had always belonged. They still seemed to fit perfectly together like two puzzle pieces. Azure lifted his arms and wrapped them around her with one hand on the back of her head. He was silent for awhile before he spoke. "Have you been eating alright?" He questioned her, his voice thick with concern. It hadn't been that long ago when his sister had to ask him the same question and bring him food because he wasn't going out to get it for himself.
