Ahote yawned as he woke up, the moonlight shining into the den. It took him a couple minutes to get up on his paws and stretch out. It was strange; his paws had gotten a bit bigger and his legs had grown a bit. It made it strange as he tried to get used to his new limbs.

He walked a bit to get his bearings straight before looking to see who else was left in the den.

"Good evening!" She rolled over to her brother, happily adjusting to her longer legs. They felt odd of course, but nothing that she wouldn't evenutally get used too. "Ready to go have some fun?"

"Evening," he replied, finally feeling comfortable on his legs again. Thankfully it wasn't taking him as long to get use to them any more. Hopefully soon he wouldn't even have to wait a couple minutes before doing anything.

He gave Anemy a small, affectionate nuzzle when she got close to him. "What do you have in mind for us tonight?"

She giggled before she spoke, feeling more cheery then she normally did. She was still commanding and had that "in charge" feeling over her family, but still, perhapes a little more delightful to be around.

"I'm glad you asked, brother." She rolled over onto her belly and stood up. "I found something cool looking out in the fields. I want to know what it is, don't you?"

The male juve gave a his sister a smile and a small chuckle. Leave it to her to find something else to explore; he couldn't knock it though, he thought as he lightly batted the necklace with the green gem on it that was around his neck. They had made some really good discoveries together.

"Sure, lead the way," he replied with a nod to the entrance of their den.

Anemy gladly skipped out of the den, leading Ahote through the packs lands' flawlessly. By now her siblings and herself had memorized every inch of their territory. Even a little more than that.

When something interesting was discovered, Ahote and Anemy were usually the ones uncovering it. They had a knack for finding treasures burried, and not-so-burried all over the place. Today was no exception, they were off exploring something Anemy happened upon again.

Well, because she was the leader, of course she'd be the one to find.. Whatever it was they were investigating.

Ahote followed his sister closely, at a slightly more relaxed walk. By now he probably knew exactly what area she was leading him to and could probably find whatever it was she had found on his own.

Most of the time he went along now simply because it was more interesting going with someone than going without. Their first exploration had led to them finding a space rock, the second an emerald that he had gotten his necklace from. He wondered what Anemy had managed to find now.

"Over this way" Anemy chirped, leading her brother past a small stream. That stream eventually trickled its way into one of the two rivers that acted as a border to the packs territory. A little known fact amongst the pack that Anemy was quick to pick up on.

She continued to lead her brother up towards said river, to the point that she could hear it flowing in the distance. "Alright, stop." She commanded, taking a moment to sniff the air and absorb the scents around her.

She lowered herself into the grass, looking curiously ahead of her. "See, see, you can see can't you? That strange animal over there." She looked back again, her dark blue eyes glued to the abnormal creature in front of her.

Ahote followed his sister passed the small stream, slightly thankful for the new, longer legs that helped them cover more land. Now he was definitely curious as to what Anemy had found this far out.

He followed her up towards the river, hearing it slightly off in the distance. When she told him to stop, he skidded slightly before stopping next to her. When she lowered herself down, Ahote followed.

He looked in the area she was staring at and grinned. "Yeah, I see it," he whispered, "what is it?" Whatever it was, it wasn't something he had picked up the scent of before.

"I don't know." Anemy wagged her tail excitiedly. "I wonder if it even speaks are language..." She stared at the beast that she had snuck up on. It was so odd looking. With it's long tail, large head that owned razor teeth, and feline-like features (not that Anemy and Ahote would know what a feline is at this time wink it had to be an alien!

Well, that as unlikely as it being a human. Or in Anemy's mind Huemon. Anemy strongly believed that was what the two-legged beasts called themselves. Huemons. She had heard tales about them from a few of the adults. Tales that came from the other end of the world, that had been stretched and twisted by the words of others until these tales weren't anything believable.

The one fact that remained throughout these tales was that these supposive "huemons" walked upright on their hind legs, and had strange boom-sticks that caused all animals it pointed at to die. Other than that Anemy considered them nothing more than something to scare her siblings into the den when day came. Although secertly, she was probably more terrified of these strange creatures then anyone else.

She shook her head, breaking away from the thoughts of "huemons" and focusing on the currently creature residing within the packs land.

Ahote hummed slightly as he listened to his sister. He was mostly keeping his attention on the strange animal she had led him to. It had strangely shaped ears and its snout wasn't as narrow as theirs were; its was more curved. He tried to get a glimpse of its tail, but it was hard to see.

Through his excitement, however, he questioned how safe it was for them and for the pride. Whatever this animal was, it was very close to the pack. What if it was a danger to the pack, to his family? He wondered what he should do about this; should he urge her to go back so they could get one of the other pack members?

This was in no way a normal exploration for them. Bringing home a special rock was very different than finding a strange animal close to the pack's land.

"What should we do?" he whispered making sure to keep an eye on the strange creature.

"I don't know." Anemy said in her hushed voice. "I was thinking maybe we could try and communicate with it." Her voice contained doubt that it was a good idea to talk with the beast, but she still suggested it anyways. It was very exciting to see such an animal after all. In a land where nothing but dogs, wolves and jackals lived, seeing such an odd thing was very exciting to just about anyone.

She flattened her ears and lowered herself even more against the dirt, trying to remain as invisible as possible. She had brought Ahote out here so that she didn't need to look at the creature alone. In all truth though she didn't expect it to have travelled so close to the pack, let alone still be in the same area as before.

Now Ahote and her had a choice. They could run home and tell dad about it, or be even more brave than before and try and convince it to leave. Either way Anemy was troubling over seeing this end very well...

Communicating with it, as long as it understood them, could be a good idea. They could attempt to figure out what it was doing out here before they went back to inform their dad or one of the other adults.

He followed his sister's lead and lowered himself down to remain as invisible as he could. He took a deep breath to calm himself and slowly took tentative steps closer to the creature.

He crept as close as he was comfortable with and knelt until his belly hit the ground. He took another steadying breath before calling out to the creature.

"Hello?"

Ahote's voice echoed across the lot of land. Anemy rose her head a little, straining her ears to hear even the faintest of responce. She merely heard the cries of bugs die down after Ahote distruped their songs. The silence began creating the illusion that Anemy's brother had spoke out to no one. Anemy's ears resumed their position back against her head.

She hadn't relized she had been holding her breath until she breathed out to steady her no doubt shaking voice. She then proceeded to repeat what Ahote had called out to this creature. "H-Hello?" Again, silence returned her cry. "We... We know your out there! Don't pretend like you can't hear us!"

Ahote glared at his sister when she called out to the creature. What was she doing? Her tone was going to aggravate whatever it was and make it angry. He shook his head at her before turning to look at the silent creature again, making sure to keep low.

"We are just curious about what you are. Our home is nearby, you see, and we don't want you to get hurt if someone sees you so close, alright. Please, if you can understand, respond."
