[PRP]Casual Drinks (Jaryx x Thelara)

The white cheetah walked slowly across the grass. He had finished off a small kill a while ago and had been walking for quite a while, judging by the position of the sun.

His tongue peeked out slightly as he tried to cool down as he walked. If he remembered right, there was a watering hole not too far from where he was. If he could make it to the pool and get a drink, he could cool himself down.

Thelara just happened to already be at said watering hole. The day had been long for her, traveling along the vast rouge lands to find her meals for various times, as well as shade to escape the unforgiving heat. Thankfully, the water was accessible. There were a few herbivore's on the opposing side of the small pool she was crouched before, but she paid them no mind. Silver, sharp eyes were closed calmly, little pink tongue sneaking out consecutively as she lapped at the refreshing water.

The first thing Jaryx did when he reached the pool was to lay down as close to the shore as he could and lean over to get a drink. His flat tongue lapped furiously at the water as he tried to quench his thirst. As he worked to get enough water in him, he didn't have a single care about what or who else was near him. Eventually he pulled back from the water and laid his head on his paws while he looked around. Off a little ways from where he was lying was what appeared to be a black cheetah.

Her ears twitched at hearing an approaching figure, her tongue pausing, and eyes snapping open. They darted over towards where the new Cheetah appeared, her muscles tensing readily, watching him intensely. But... he seemed just grateful enough to have something to quench his thirst... thus didn't pose too much of a threat. Watching him for a few more minutes, the female lowered her head back down and resumed drinking, peering at him from time to time to keep tabs.

The white and black cheetah could almost feel a set of eyes staring at him. He raised his head up and noticed the black cheetah he had spotted was watching him. He debated on going over to introduce himself or continuing to lay in the spot he had claimed. Eventually he decided to go ahead and go over; he stood up and stretched before walking the few paces between them. He laid down next to her and took another drink.

"Hello."

Naturally, she tensed further as he approached.. her tail lifted off the ground to hover above it, ready to spring, or take action if need be. But his leisurely demeanor kept the female at bay... for now. Watching him intently, ears pinning back as he settled so close to her, Thelara refrained from giving a growl.. not wanting to be the instigator of any sort of outbreak. His greeting did make those little round sensors perk though... before flattening back again.

"Hello..." she replied after some hesitance... slowly, and reluctantly. Socializing really wasn't her specialty. Being a loner for so long, she hadn't quite gotten the hang of it.

Despite the cheetah's hostile looks she was sending his way, Jaryx stayed calm as he tried to enjoy his small rest. He did, however, watch her just as carefully as she was watching him, just in case she did decide she wanted to strike.

He leaned over and took another long drink of water. Once he was finished, he licked the excess water from his mouth.

"Don't worry," he replied, "I don't have it in me to try to fight right now." The long walk to get to the pool, in the heat, had worn him out.

His words held barely any assurance to the female, but she kept at bay, though continued to watch him. He did look rather worn though... that was good. Tail twitching with mild aggravation, Thelara turned her head to drink some more too, internally coaxing herself that a calmer mind was better focused. After a few laps, she retracted her head to groom at her paws that had a bit of died blood on them, making sure to get them clean so as not to attract any other unwanted company.

So that's how she wanted to be? That was perfectly fine by Jaryx's standards. It was easier to calm down and re-energize when those around him were quiet. He laid there for a little bit longer before getting up to lap at the water again. After another long drink, he sat back down and cleaned the excess water off of his mouth while debating over attempting to start another conversation with the female cheetah, though with the way her tail was twitching, the idea did not seem like a good one.

The quiet was nice for her, too. Less stress, and a calm demeanor was much easier to come by. It let her even maybe.. enjoy the other cheetah's company. Most times there were yappy, or obnoxious creatures to deal with... dangerous too...

Though it wasn't like her... Thelara decided to... socialize... "So... you're alone..?" she muttered, when settling onto her haunches, lifting her other paw to clean as well.

Then the female cheetah finally spoke, Jaryx looked over at her and shrugged leisurely. So she was finally interested in making conversation, huh?

"For now, yes," he replied and rolled over onto his side, "What about you?"

He was a loner too then, eh? It was mildly surprising to hear, but...she too was one as well. Though it seemed like most had some sort of acquaintances.

"Yes." she replied simply, licking along her arm, before lifting a paw to run it over one of her tiny round ears.

Apparently she wasn't that interested in making conversation. She must have just been trying to appear nice and non-threatening when he didn't make any move to attack her.

Jaryx stretched out and laid his head down on his paws. He wondered slightly about how long he could stare at her before she would speak again.

Grooming herself calmly, almost completely ignoring the male, Thelara was licking her paw once more when she glanced over to see him... staring at her. She paused, staring right back, giving a slightly confused expression, "What....?"

He watched her groom herself and wondered just how long she had been alone out here. Had she grown up out here or left a pride or clan to try to make it on her own?

When she noticed him staring and shot him a confused look, he smiled slightly. "You're used to being alone, aren't you?"
