 Catkin and Ring-tail enter the swamp, both cautious. They may have been naive when they left, even when they met, but the long road has taught them both caution. Dangers like venemous snakes, and even other Kiokote - those feeling their kind should not be traipsing to a swamp - in their path. So it is with careful steps they enter, slinking through the shadows.
Catkin takes time now and again to stop, not his usual distraction, but to look and listen for danger. Already they have seen snakes, as well as paw prints in the mud larger then ring-tail's. He wonders if the felines or dogs here would eat them, or if they are like the cheetahs back home and want only a companion. Better to assume they are a danger and keep an eye for them.
It is hard going, trying to be quiet in the sucking mud and large leaves and vines that hang down from the trees. They are not wholly successful, though Catkin hopes the noise filled air will help conceal them too. It is just as his fever-dreams showed, plants so tightly packed that in some places you cannot see. Air hot and dense, noises of water, wind, plants and animals nearly deafening.
Progress is very slow, it is night already, and it had been morning when they first stepped into the swamp. With all the plant life Catkin has no way to judge how far from swamp's boarder they came. Only that by his labored breathing it feels like they ran a marathon. Putting the thought out of mind, he finds a dry spot. Well, as dry as can be, and curls up to sleep, Ring-tail beside him.

 Dodging Brush followed the owlcat through the swamps land. Fallen Leaf had found something while out foraging for his kimeti. He wasn't exactly sure what it was, but he found something different. Dodging looked down and saw some tracks in the mud. She thought they could be one of the eaglehounds or even a lynx. The mostly green doe continued on after her small friend. It was strange because he normally would jump on her back and direct her from there, but tonight her brown companion was running on the ground in a hurry. Dodging came to an abrupt stop so not to step on Fallen. The owlcat was sitting stock still staring at something under or between the brush.

Ring-tail was the first to sense their visitors, his sleep being as light as any cat's. Carefully he moves from Catkin, keeping silent in his investigation. Peering through the brush he takes in an odd sight, two creatures he's never seen before. He moves fully out of the foliage now, planting himself in a defensive posture should they prove a threat. A growl comes from deep in his throat, warning them away.
Catkin wakes when Ring-tail leaves, but figures his cheetah is just going to relieve himself. Until Catkin hears the growl. That gets him up and moving, sleep stumbling out of the brush to stand behind his pet. He catches sight of the green... well what is she.. or he? Catkin asks himself. Ignoring both caution and Ring-tail, Catkin walks around the cheetah to get a better look at Dodging Brush. "What are you?" He asks, too caught up in their alikeness and differences to realize how rude the question is.

Dodging watched the cat move out of the brush and started to step back. This wasn't one of the lynx that they had around the swamp. Fallen scrambled up the doe's leg to huddle on her back as the cat growled at them. He peeked between the ears and pointed that there was something else there.
As she turned to make sure her friend was okay, Dodging heard something else, besides the owlcat tapping her on the head. Standing behind the green cat, there was something else that looked similar to her, but it wasn't. Startled by the question, she looks at herself. "I am a kimeti, what are you?"

"Kimeti.." the word is barely more then a whisper, awe in his voice. "You are real. There are stories, but most consider them myth." Catkin sits, giving her a smile. "I'm a Kiokote. My name is Catkin." Remembering Ring-tail, Catkin turns to the cheetah. "S'all right, Ring." He says, and smiles as the cat takes a less threatening posture. "Sorry about him, it's been a hard journey. Have you seen others like me? Or heard tales of us?" Catkin looks at the Kimeti hopefully. So many others have made the long trek, none he knew personally, but still to have other Kiokote here would make it less scary. "I don't know when other Kiokote started to make the trip, but I have heard tales of many leaving tribes mine have come across. I doubt I'm the first to actually make it." Catkin lets his talk trickle off, realizing the Kimeti will need time to respond.
