[PRP] Double Trouble. Doubled! (Hik/Aph, Kao/Ven)

A set of red vixens wandered through the forest, trotting side-by-side in a familiar, companionable way of creatures that have known each other for quite some time. On the surface it seemed like an innocent enough picture. The females were remarkably similar in looks; one could see matching base patterns, for sure. On second glance, though, one would see that one of the females was a darker red, with black patterns on her tail, while the lighter red one had white starry spots adorning her sleek pelt.

Anyone in the least bit familiar with the females would have snorted in disbelief should anyone suggest their innocence. One only had to stick around long enough to see those identical grins and mischief-promising eyes to realize their mistake. By then it was too late, of course. Venus and Aphrodite were easily the most curious and sociable in their family unit. A Daeva for a father and an irritable shrew of a mother didn't exactly make them the "normal" type of sociable, though. More like prone to pulling tricks, flirting, and sulking in equal manners.

The darker female turned her head slightly to glance at the light one. "Hey Twin, we gettin' any closer to Lunarie?"

Aphrodite was extremely happy today. Twin had finally come back from her adventure and they were off to go see Hikaru. Well, and Kaoru too, but Kaoru seemed to like her and hate her in turns, so she was mostly going to see Hikaru. Veering only slighty, Aphrodite brushed her shoulder against Venus' needing the contact after her 'twin' had been gone for so long.

"Hmm, well Twin...we may not be near lunarie...but we're definitely near Hikaru." Aphrodite said, nose in the air to sample the scents. She had never been to Lunarie lands, but she picked up Hikaru's scent easily, having gotten quite used to his scent while she had been teasing him. "And where Hikaru is, Kaoru isn't too far away." Dite said with a wink towards her sister and a flirty tail flick.

"Hmmmm, a lot like us," Venus replied, leaning into her sister's touch in a way that seemed less like a lean and more like the fluid way running water curves over rocks just beneath it's surface. "I knew we were right for giving them credit for some kind of smarts!" The flirty smirk should have been a trademark expression for the girls.

Indeed, both girls preferred being together rather than separate. While not purely identical, their base patterns were such a perfect copy of the other that they had a legit claim to being twins, faternal opposed to identical for those who wished to pick nits.

The situation never failed to amuse Venus though. Hikaru and Kaoru were identicals, perfect copies of the other....... Almost. What they lacked to be absolutely perfect identicals was different colored eyes, Hikaru possessing blue eyes and Kaoru orange. And what cracked Venus up more than anything was that eye color was that she and Twin, while non-identical twins, had identical eyes!

It would probably be years before she quit laughing at the irony of it all. It had a very yin-yang feel to it, that what one pair was lacking the other had.

"Hi. Ka. Ru."

Kaoru padded alongside the border of Lunarie Land, waiting for his twin patiently. Hikaru was carrying a large kill they had found, a deer with horns that their Uncle Shai had caught during his first trip to Lunarie, and the boys were planning on returning home with it. However, a small de-tour couldn't hurt, right?

His ear ached slightly, a reminder of his ultimate tie to both his tribe and brother. The color of his tattoo was the exact color of his brother eyes, and, vice-versa. The two were bounded to both themselves and the tribe, though secretly both knew who came first. The other twin. They were forever inseperable.

Forever.

So when Aphrodite had come into the picture Kaoru had become.... paranoid. His brother had yet to show interest, but, would he ever? Kaoru deep down inside dreaded the thought knowing one day his brother could leave him, even though Kaoru was the one that was more emotional, the one more friendly and civil. So why did he twitch whenever he saw Aphrodite?

He didn't want her to take Hikaru from him.

"Kaoru~" Hikaru purred out the second he saw his beloved brother. If it wasn't for their appearance one would think they were mates by how sweet and in-tuned they were with one another. He plopped the rabbit down at his brothers feet, his own newly tattooed ear aching. Though this was nothing compared to Rush, who had gotten several piercings, a few mods, and a large tattoo on his tail.

Sometimes he wondered how Rush even belonged to their family, then again, to Hikaru there was only Kaoru and Mother. Rush had slipped away from his view, not because he had decided he was not worthy, but simply because Kaoru and Hikaru had bonded. They were one person in a sense, there was no room for Rush as a kit. And so, they grew up awkwardly looking at one another with the same question:

'Are we really related?'

He'd been told Rush was the black and white copy of his father, and this was probably why he had stayed away from the kit. His father. His and Kaoru's. The mere thought annoyed him.

"Kaoru, do you smell foxes nearby?" He questioned, looking over when Kaoru nodded. "We should investigate."

"Exactly, Twin." Dite nodded. She easily returned Venus' affection, unlike the rest of their family. They were the odd ones out of their family, but honestly they didn't much care. In fact, they normally used their differences to tease their family mercilessly. Especially Grandpa Gin. Dite let loose a mischeivious smirk at the memory.

Aphrodite brushed against her sister one last time before turning off to the side of the path they were following. "Mmm...Hikaru and Kaoru are this way." She was much better at scent than her Twin, but Venus was able to notice things that Dite overlooked. They were the perfect team.

Venus nodded and followed. Her eyesight wasn't any better than Aphrodite's, but she had more of a knack for noticing small details that really stood out. That combined with Aphrodite's superior sense of smell, it was quite hard to sneak up on the couple.

Of course, that's what made finding good boy toys so hard! They had yet to find any they were willing to keep for the long haul. When the perfect complement to your soul was you sister, how did you find something else that complemented your own brand of melody to turn it into harmony?

A brief flicker of color caught Venus' attention. She grinned and nudged Twin, giving her a sideways look and wink that signified another bit of mischief to unfold.

Like a flash of red lightning, she pounced! "Kaoru~," she called in a sing-song voice, looking up into a set of orange eyes. Somehow the irrepressable vixen had managed to land directly in front of him on her front paws only, and used to momentum to leap back, half-spinning, before her back feet hit the ground.

Hikaru scowled when he saw something flash before him, nearly dropping the rabbit he had firmly in his jaws. Grimacing when a loud female voice he took a step back. It took him a second to recognize Venus, however when his eyes landed on Aphrodite he recognized her in seconds. It seemed the red twins had found one another again. He had wondered when Aphrodite would see her twin sister, and was glad to see the two together once more. If he lost Kaoru he knew he would never forgive himself, or smile once more.

His eyes flicked to his orange eyed brother, watching how Kaoru tensed when he saw Aphrodite, however relaxed when Venus belted out his name and plopped down before him, spun backwards, and came into Kaoru's view. He felt a white hot fury rise in his chest, moving between the two before he could even think.

Was he....jealous?

"What are you two doing here?"
"Hikaru!"

Kaoru scowled at his brother, though lovingly. Hikaru was more blunt then anything, and, had a harder time expressing how he felt without being to harsh. He could tell his brother was pleased to see the vixens, sighing to himself mentally. Really, Hikaru needed to learn to be more careful with how he spoke. He turned to Venus and Aphrodite, offering them both a smile, though it did falter slightly when he looked at Aphrodite.

He was happy for Hikaru, so why did he feel this emptiness when he saw Aphrodite make Hikaru smile or laugh? Why did he want to shove her aside and erase her? This couldn't be right...

"It's been awhile! Last time I saw you, Aphrodite, you were without Venus~"

Aphrodite smiled at Hikaru's abrupt manner. Having a twin herself gave her enough insight to their mentality to figure out why Hikaru and Kaoru acted so possessive of each other. She and Venus did the same...to a certain extent.

Giving a sinuous wiggle, she walked right up to Hikaru and touched her nose to his cheek. "We've come for a visit, of course." She purred at him, giving his a flirty smirk. She stepped back and looked the twins over. There was something different about them, but she couldn't quite put her paw on what it was. Before she could figure it out, Kaoru distracted her.

"It has, Kaoru. It's good to see you're both doing well." She smiled at both brothers but winked at Hikaru. She turned back to Kaoru and smiled widely with relief. "She came back, perfectly fine, or course. It's why we came for a visit. I wanted to show you that I found my Twin again."

Venus sighed gustily, giving Kaoru a once-around twine before moving over to lean against her sister in a way that looked like they were half-tangled together. It was a deceptive look, however; the two could bolt apart to inflict mischief without even tripping over their tails!

"Honestly, I didn't mean to disappear. Not even for a short period of time. I just got....entangled in a situation out of my control." There, that was the short and, surprisingly, honest version of it. And the least confusing one. Of course Venus would never lie to Twin (she couldn't get away with it, for one), though sometimes it was fun to attempt to inflict confusion on others.

She winked at Hikaru, though without flirtacious manner that was mostly resevered for his orange-eyed twin. "What? We thought we could offer our entertaining services. If anything's better for fun than a set of twins, it's two sets of twins," she said in a matter-of-fact voice. After all, twins meant mischief and each set had different styles for causeing it. Which made it all the more fun!

((.....Now I want to find an unsuspecting victim and having a double set of "twin love" happen XD ))

Hikaru glanced at Aphrodite, biting back a rather hasty response he knew would be taken wrong. His eyes fell upon Venus, watching her tangle into Aphrodite, amused slightly. Kaoru and he did that constantly. Frowning at the two though he wondered absently what Lunarie would think of the intruders, and, if he would stumble upon Rush. He hoped not. The twins needed space from Rush, or else they'd probably annoy the now muscular and large male.

Hmpf, he was Sin and Shai sized. Hikaru's eyes lowered, grumbling to himself before looking at the female twins.

When Hikaru didn't say anything he eyed Aphrodite, eyebrow raising. "Well, I'm glad she's safe." He cooed, his ear flicking, wincing slightly. Hikaru touched the base of his ear with his nose, licking the fur and tilting his head. Kaoru smiled at his brother, bumping noses together.

"I'm fine~" He cooed, turning back to look at the female twins.

"A visit, hm?" He turned to Hikaru, the two locking eyes before turning to look at the females.

"Want to play--"
"-- A game?"

"I'm glad she's back safe with me as well. It's lonely without you, Twin." Aphrodite pouted a bit before she snuggled into her sister, giving her an affectionate nuzzle. Venus wasn't giving out any details, but Dite wasn't going call her on it. Not in front of Hikaru and Kaoru.

Dite turned back to the male twins with an open, amused expression. "A game? Did you make a new one?" She asked. Hikaru and Kaoru loved the play the guessing game, but she and Venus had cracked that one already. She wondered what they had come up with now.

Venus nodded. "A new game would be fun," she said, leaning into her sister's nuzzle. Part of her felt a touch bad at all this talk of her being gone. It wasn't like she'd had much of a choice, since she'd always rather be with Twin, but it was kinda hard to explain.

Rather than think uncomfortable thoughts, Venus turned excited gray eyes on Hikaru and Kaoru and matched Aphrodite's expectant look.

Hikaru grinned at the twins. "We have a certain brother that gets on our nerves. Its getting dark, how about we play a trick on him." He turned to Kaoru, bumping hips with his beloved twin.

"Ever head or a haunted house? Kinda like that! Cept without the props~" Kaoru knew this was mean, but hey! Their brother was so uptight, he needed some life other than that random girl he was always with and kissing Ari's butt.

"Whatcha think?" He grinned at the girls, tail wagging at the two. Their tattoo's showed when the setting sunlight hit them, making both Kaoru and Hikaru grin happily at the shared marking.

Venus turned to look at Aphrodite, smirking, though her comment was more for the twins ears. "Oh, this should be quite fun. We have lots of experience tormenting siblings, don't we Twin?"

Their brother had managed to evade the worst of it by poofing as soon as he could, but Seraph held a loathing for her sisters that only served to amused and encourage them.

"Indeed, Twin. And it is so much fun to drive Seraph up the wall." Aphrodite replied, returning Venus' smirk. They also sent the rest of their family bonkers as well, but that was mostly their fault. Their reactions only encouraged her and Twin.

"We'd be happy to help you play a trick on your brother." Dite purred. "What did you two have in mind?"
