What do YOU consider to be "real" dating?


I'm asking this because at my school (middle school rolleyes ) what people consider dating is pitiful, stupid, and for me, absolutely hilarious.
At my school, "dating" is sitting at together at lunch, setting their facebook status to "in a relationship heart ", then breaking up like 3 days later.

Well, IMO, this isn't even freaking dating at all. confused

So, cause I'm bored, and I want to start a conversation, I wanna know, what do you girls consider to be "real" dating?

Dating to me is well. Going on dates.
This does not include walking around the mall holding hands.

Dates to me consist of a movie and or dinner.
Or going out somewhere you normally wouldn't do.

Me and my fiance have a date night.
Once a week we go out to eat, go home and watch a movie.

Middle schoolers shouldn't be dating, IMO. I guess dating would mean actual dating. Like, dinner and a movie.

x] To me, dating is something where your with a person who you have feelings for (More then a friend feelings), and they feel the same way about and you spend time together. In the past (When I was younger and wasted my time watching tv) I thought dating was a guy asking you out, going to the movies and some fancy dinner. Now? I really don't care about dinners and movies and such, I just want to spend time with them. I'd rather be hanging out at home playing some video games, or going to the park and running around.

I don't think it matters where you go, I've gone on "mall dates" before and they're pretty fun, well for me they were.
But I think dating should involve a car not driven by a parent and the guy paying.

My last boyfriend was a loser who made me drive everywhere cause he didn't have his license and me paying for everything cause I was the only one with the job and to be honest I hardly considered that anything cause ALL we did was go to movies and dinner.

Its been a while since I've been in middle school but when I was dating was just girls and guys having sex, going to the two dollar theater once or twice, and that was that.

To me, dating is going out with a guy or girl a few times to see if you're compatible enough to be in a relationship, or to build an already established one.

In my school there is 'together', then 'dating' and then 'a relationship.'
I've never really understood that as there is no difference
between them, all of them you still hold hands and care
for each other. I honestly think it's quite pathetic. I'd
kick a guy in the balls if he said we are together or dating
but not considered boyfriend or girlfriend. To mean you
should either be with him or not. No in between?
