A shiny Pokemon!!!....aw, ********. I killed it...

I decided to make this topic because of a miss on Pokemon I had today. I was playing Pearl version today and I was on the sea route heading towards the Pokemon League. I came across a shiny Pelipper, level 44. I was trying to weaken it for capture. One more hit would've made it weak enough...IF IT WASN'T A ******** CRITICAL HIT! I accidentally KO'd it. scream So, yeah, I missed my chance at a shiny Pokemon. It's not really THAT big of a deal now that I think about it...but it was still kind of frustrating.

But the reason I am making this topic is this: Have you ever attempted to capture a "shiny" pokemon and accidentally knocked it out instead? If so, what was the Pokemon, what level it was, and your feelings after accidentally killing it?

EDIT: I forgot to tell you guys this, but this isn't the first time I've encountered a shiny.

I actually managed to capture a shiny Pokemon in Gold version once. It was a ******** Oddish, though. I think it's level was around 12 when I caught it.

I also caught the Red Gyarados, but I don't really think it qualifies as a true "shiny," since you ALWAYS encounter it in the same place.

Never happened to me. Only shiny's i eer ran into were Gastly in blue, and kadabra in Pearl. Caught them both

I got a shiny totodile as a starter...other than that I never have sen a shiny pokemon.

It is perhaps a fabrication. As far as I know, "shiny" pokemon were never in Blue, Red, or Yellow versions.

It is perhaps a fabrication. As far as I know, "shiny" pokemon were never in Blue, Red, or Yellow versions.
