"Welcome to the Broken Dragon Inn," the innkeeper shouts as you walk in. "We have the finest Wines and Ales available in Cormyr. Make yourselves at home."
Judgeing by the looks of the place you are pretty sure that he isn't telling the truth. The floors haven't been swept in what looks to be an age. The tables are dirty and the serving wenches aren't much better.
You see a few farmers and other local folk scattered around the common area. Other than that it is pretty deserted.

Jade green eyes observe the innkeeper before the face broke into a smile, "Tell me good innkeeper, what ales do you have in this fine establishment?" Di'est asks as he seats himself at the bar, speaking in amiable tones. He glances at the other patrons, entirely disinterested in the at this time.

The innkeeper sensing money to be made comes over to the table himself. "We have whatever ale that you would like good sir. We are the best inn in Cormyr after all." You can tell from how attentive that he is that he must want something. "May I offer you a plate of our finest dinner? Normally it would cost 5 Silver, but I can see that your an adventurer. If you stay here I'll throw in the meals for just 2 silver. What do you think about that?"

He taps his chin for a bit, "Hmmm...I don't know honestly...I was just looking for some good ale, or if you happen to stock it, Cormanthor Honey Mead...I assume of course, that if you're the best that not being on the edge of Cormanthor forest would not effect your ability to have this mead. Right?"

A tall, silent shadow enters the doorframe of the grimey taproom. And just as soon as it appears it slides into the room, keeping to the walls, and the shadows that linger there. The figure finds a secluded table in corner and seats himself. The figure wears thin and tattered robes, with a cowl about his head, pulled low over the brow and eyes, pale and washed out hair streaming from underneath to reach the table. He huddles, as if chilled, despite the warmth in the room. Quietly, the man leans a longbow against the table, and lets his pack slide gently to the floor. Digging out a bit of dried meat and crusty bread, the man proceeds to eat. Apparently oblivious to the better fare that is obviously present.

The innkeeper brings you a mug of what might have at one time been akin to honey mead. "Here you go sir the best in all the Realms."
Right as he is leaving the table the door opens and a cloaked and hooded figure comes through and sits down in the corner. The innkeeper goes over to him and starts to make the same speech about being the best in Cormyr and all that. Suddenly in the middle of his spiel he looks down at the patron and goes pale. He stamers for a bit then he regains himself and goes back behind the bar and sends one of the Serving girls to take care of him.

He watches the new arrival and gave a shrug, "Hmmm..." with a sip of the mead his desire for any drink was instantly quenched. He set the mug down with a frown, he could tell it was alcoholic, but that's it. He wasn't even sure it was edible, "Wrong part of town apparently."
With another glance at the new arrival, the Elan tilted his head a bit before he ran a hand through his short red hair, "I wonder what it is with people and being dark and gloomy."

The next arrival to the tavern is anything but gloomy, though he isn't cheerful either. Kano had been at relative ease with his surroundings until seeing the questionable upkeep inside the tavern. Still, it could be worse, and he's thirsty for something other than water. The elven fighter's long, very dark blue hair doesn't seem to tangle in the huge sword sheathed to his back as he moves through the room. He unstraps the sword and leans it against the table he chooses near the bar, a good seat to watch the room from. He's sitting quietly a moment later, seeing only two people here of any real interest. Perhaps there will be an opportunity for work, perhaps not.

Mahlonn watches the innkeeper retreat to the safety of his bar with casual disinterest. Such responses to his appearance and demeanor had become more common over the last several years, and he was finally becoming accustomed to it. As a serving girl nervously approached at the rotund man's instruction, Mahlonn swallowed the food he had been chewing, and spoke before she could.
"Water is all I require. And to be left alone whilst I rest my feet."
His voice sounds tired, almost forced, as if he were having to push each word from his tongue. And yet his voice seems muffled and quiet, almost distant. His piece said, Mahlonn retrieves a small book from belt pouch, and begins thumbing through it. Covered in a black furred pelt, it is difficult to make out any details of the book in the shadowy light that seems to cling to the stranger.

The innkeeper not wanting to offend the man with the big sword rushes over to his table. "Wel met! what can I get for you today? I have alle manner of ales and wines. and as the good man over there can attest my ales are the best in Cormyr." he says pointing to a table with a man who obviously isn't enjoying his drink.

"Mmm," muses Kano. "Yonder patron seems to disagree. Is the quality of your services similar to the upkeep here?" He says this with an easy tone, relaxing back into his seat. The proprieter seems eager to please in an almost deluded way. This situation is rather interesting... if bizarre.
