Somewhere, someone was thinking the same thing as Makali. Well, he wasn't that far, and even though he looked like just another rock in the bundle he'd settled down next to, he heard his name. He'd just been bored, trying to ignore the blatant girlishness of the surrounding, and was rather pleased to hear something so.. familiar call his name.
And soon, after a bit of his awesome ninja skills in the grass, Chokuto was hurtling into the other juvenile, and after a bit of rolling, ended up succesfully pinning the other boy to the ground. "HELLO Makali! WONDERFUL day today, is it not?! " Chokuto said, batting his eyelashes girlishly before laughing and rolling off the silver boy.
"It couldn't be worse! " He hissed, batting at the sky.

The sun was bright and the sky was clear. Blues, greens, and browns meshed happily, making everything fit into place just perfectly. However, one thing stood out. Shuman. His pastel green pelt was like a bright flower against the rather dark patch of dirt he was jumping up and down in. Yea, he was getting pretty dirty and all, but he didn't care. Jumping and getting dirty were among his favorite things! Anyone who didn't like them was just plain weird, or so Shuman figured.
Right now, he was oblivious to everything around him, and he simply didn't care. After all, he hadn't met any other lions, and only knew his own family. So, why should he care about anyone else? Yea. That sounded pretty good to him.

"I should've expected as much," Makali said as he rose to his paws again. "Running through the lands yelling for you... Should've tried to sneak up--" he said, when his attention was pulled away by a butterfly, a particularly gorgeous one, fluttering right in front of his face, as if flaunting its feminism. Makali growled at it as it passed, then took a paw and whacked at it toward the ground, eager to get it out of sight.
"It couldn't be worse! Everything's so... awful!" He paused before tapping his buddy on the shoulder. "Let's make it fun. Maybe we could crack open an ostrich egg or something!" He said before he noticed something... odd. Against the gold-toned grass was a color... though not unusual for grass, it didn't fit in with what was around this time of year. A green... thing.
"Look, here's our chance! I wonder if it's a girl or a boy." Makali said, jerking his head quickly in Shuman's direction. From where he stood, the cub was only a dot. He could tell enough that it was a lion, but he'd have to get close enough to tell if it was a boy or girl. "Should we sneak up on it, or just head towards it?" Makali asked Choku. He considered the slightly-older male the "boss," and it only seemed fitting to want his opinion on the matter.

"Just rmember to follow my lead. " Chokuto said as Makali went off, smirking, then ran around in a small circle a bit and rolled across the ground, just getting a quick scruffy loook to him and shaking out his fur, messing it up as much as he could. Next, he looked in the direction of his target and simply dashed that way, managic the most unorganized run ever, stumbling here, tripping there, skidding a bit that way... Who knew Chokuto would know he was at least good at what he did.
Soon enough, the juvenile was flopping just infront of the green male-- male! Good. It was a quick examination, but enough for him to get some stuff-- boy, and he was dirty. That was pretty good, actually... but it still didn't spare Shuman from being part of the game.
"OhthanksgoodnessIfoundyou! " Chokuto gasped flailing out his paws, laying his ears and widening his eyes, looking absolutely terrified. "Y-you shouldn'tbeouthere! " He said frantically, walking around the green boy, clumsily tripping once or twice and seeming to look out for villains who weren't around. "You have to run! Or it'll eat!.. It'll eat you! "
Time to set the climax a bit first. "It waits for days like these-- nice, sunny days when the parents let the kids out-- and then it comes! " Chokuto knew this may sound pretty silly, but fortunately for him, this kid did seem pretty young, and the young kids were usually very gullible, especially with someone his age. When he was behind Shuman, he gave a look in Makali's direction as if to say 'wait for it' and scrambled infront of Shuman again, keeping his eyes shifty and his figure jumpy-- he had to look afraid.

Just as Shuman was getting ready to take another dirty and daring stomp into the dirt pile below him, some weird, crazed, rather scruffy-looking lion cub came out of nowhere, screaming and yelling about... Something. He was a little bit bigger than Shuman was, so he figured he was older. His mommy had always told him to never talk to strangers, but this one looked like he had something very important to say.
After a few minutes of listening to incessant babbling and watching such unpredictable moves, the green eyes of the pastel green cub were as wide as the flanks of an adult zebra.
"WHAT'LL EAT ME?!", Shuman screamed out, pouncing around some. His legs were shaking and his paws couldn't keep steady on the ground. His tail was slightly in between his legs and he kept looking all around, trying to see if there was any large creature coming their way. "WHAT IS IT?! WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?!"

"Its BIG and its SCARY AND.. OHGODITSBEHINDYOU. " Chokuto gasped making a terrified face and wild eyes. "DON'T LOOK, IT WILL TURN YOU TO STONE. " Where he got that from.. well, at least Chokuto had a pretty fertile imagination.
"Quick! You must go! " He wailed, biting on the tips of his toes and then pointing in a random direction, to the left of where Makali was hidden. He was sure Makali could catch up easily to this younger boy, so there was no issue. Besides, its always funner to catch them while they were running.
"Hurry, before it gets you! " Chokuto yelled, and then shot off in the direction he indicated, taking a curve that would get him out of sight of Shuman and then he simply crouched into the grass, waiting to see if Makali had got the plan. He didn't doubt Shuman would do what he said, he'd managed to terrify the cub. Perfect.

ooh, thhe kid didn't run the right way. But still, he was running around like a frantic.. something, and that still warmed Chokuto all up inside. He smirked, following them in a swift lope through the grass, blending in not so badly for someone darker than the grass itself, and as Makali lunged for Shuman, he held back the urge to laugh out loud and merely flopped onto his belly, covering his mouth with his paw and snickering into it.
Genius! That had been genius!
Recovering himself, Chokuto got up and walked over calmly to see the results, though remaining concealed in the grass for now.
