For her roleplay, probably, Terra. Feel free to correct me, Eve. @_x
Hmm...
*sorely tempted to order a metric asseload of maternity and family edits*
No, I didn't spell that wrong. The asseload is a SI unit of distance. A square asseload is the amount of land required by a solar tower to produce any viable amount of electricity.

Alex: I was basing alot of my opinion on an interview from Brad Holland, one of the members of the Illustrator's Partnership group; basically a small group of "neighborhood watchmen" for government activity towards the arts (Granted Mark Simon is also part of that group but that man has little to no tact so his opinion is void to me). Alot of the bill's wording was confusing to me and having someone explain it more simplistically was something I sought for in the short time I had yesterday. I've done some more reading and research (I've basically gotten over most of my previous rant with some more conclusive facts, but have formed a new one X'D), by now and have come to a new conclusion. (Some of my other side of the fence readings: "Don't Lose Sleep over Orphan" & realitysquared's DA Journal) Even though the bill does in fact benefit in the case of missing/unlocatable owner's of artwork, on a personal level I just don't feel it's right to make that person's work "public domain." Sure, if you're a writer and wish to have cover art for your book, looking for a piece to display on it is the right approach. But under the bill and finding that piece and not finding it's owner shouldn't mean "oh it's public domain so I can use it anyway though the artist isn't anywhere to be found." That is just so wrong to me. I admit that putting a readable version of your name on a piece is good and helps prevent that, but what about all those years you might have forgotten to do that when you were younger, posted it on the internet and completely forgotten where you posted it. That work in essence would become a public domain piece even though you may have it displayed elsewhere with your name on it. I'll admit, yeah I'm one of those artists that feel I should be payed for everything I draw if it's used in a way that could profit another on a large scale. I don't make much money at all as it is with my art, and someone having the possiblity of profiting off my young stupidity makes me sick and stressed. I admit that my last rant was filled with inconsistances due to only having listened to the interview because I got home at a late hour and was really too shocked to properly research the topic before heading to bed with an ill stomach.

BridgeChan cardi i spent all day reorganizing my mules' avatars and inventories so i can figure out what items i can sell in the mp to earn gold. phew. it was a lot of work @_@. i've essentially been doing gaia housekeeping all day.
I've been doing that off and on these past few weeks, lol. I've made about 60k in unused pieces that I've just hoarded over the past few years X'D nice ^^. it's amazing how much stuff we can accumulate over time, even here on gaia. fortunately it's pretty easy to sell them off, unlike irl.

XDDD Asseload! So amsuing!
On the whole Orphaned law thing. I never put up my name on the internet, so most of everything I've posted, can only be traced back to this account on Gaia or on Deviant. I've NEVER liked the idea of stealling others work. Hell in my current job my boss has told me to find images of things to put on a seasonal banner. The person before me found the pictures put them in to photoshop and made linear copies of them. I find this horribly wrong. I'll look up a refence photo, draw out the idea, several different times, then scan it. THEN I'll work on it in photoshop instead of stealling someone esles work. Another thing that I've had to do this year, our drawing teacher had us find a black and white add and told us to use the projector and trace it. Then shade it. When we were done he told us that it would make a great porfolio peice. I refuse to use it there I will NEVER use that peice for a portfolio. It isnt my work. I traced it off someone esle's photograph. Making it a reproduction of their work, not mine.
Sorry if that got off subject, but thats how I feel. I hate taking others work and claiming its my own. I refuse to do it, but I know there are others out there who would do it in a heartbeat. Which makes me never want to do art again. Honostly I think if I ever saw anyone using anything I've drawn/character I've created without my permission/making money off of it/them without my permission, I would go crazy. And that would be it. No more work coming out of me ever. IT would most likely piss me off so much that I would burn my portfolio/sketchbooks so no one could do it again.

Granted ideas are generally public domain, direct copying/taking another's work is the main point that doesn't sit well, regardless of an artist being MIA. Thank you Vinny, that captures the simple and basic idea of what I was going for in the last post X'D *Hugs*

woo Funny SI unitsMore funny SI unitsand even moreeven moreButtload This unit is to describe a large quantity of something. This common slang word, used in many regions of the United States, is most likely a censored version of "assload". A donkey can comfortably travel with 30-40 kilograms on its back over long distances

Oh Alex might like this one Geekiness: Zelda
The unit of geekiness is defined as the Zelda. One Zelda is equivalent to one mention of a meme per week. For example, someone who mentions one Monty Python reference in a conversation will generate a Zelda. Low Zelda-counts are an indicator of a non-geek, while true geeks will generate astronomical numbers of Zeldas. Instigators of a Zelda-generating conversation may add a 1.2x multiplier to their final score for that conversation. For example, the conversation which defined the Zelda itself was approximately a 42 Zelda conversation, discussed by 3.2 Kilozeldas worth of geeks
