Usushisa had had enough of sticking around the pride. She was a lioness, it was her job to hunt. Besides, if she was stuck waiting around to see if she had succeeded in becoming pregnant, she may as well get out and about to be useful while she still had the choice, right?
So, off she went to hunt on her own. She could've brought someone along with her, she supposed, but honestly? She enjoyed the fresh air. It was nice, playing with Safura's cubs or speaking with her mother and she was certainly more relieved than she had been before she reached her agreements with Faust and Budek, but she still liked getting out on her own, when she could.
So, she took to the borders of their new settlement. The great migration was over and the pride had settled comfortably in their new land once more. Everything was as it should be. She had managed to track down a small herd of gazelle and was in the process of stalking one of the beasts from a position downwind. She wasn't sure how close she was to the border into the rogue lands, but surely whatever she managed to kill, even if they crossed the border in their eventual chase, it would still be hers, right? She pushed complex thoughts to her side as she stalked closer. This was no time for complicated thinking. Right now, this was just the time to hunt.
