M'arek felt his attack parried with such force that he was actually knocked back in mid-air. He was left rising backwards, vertical in stature with his lightsaber blasted well behind his back, looking like some sort of strange crucifixion representation, the blade of his lightsaber deactivating as he slightly lost his grip on the hilt, staring down at a burning yellow blade that was cocked across the opponent's face, sprouting from its wrist where a hand should be and rising diagonally to the other side as it leaped toward the defenseless youngling. Oh how the tables have turned. M'arek watched wide-eyed as the droid pounced him. And then he felt it. A pull, form deep within, as if someone had just pulled the stopper from a bathtub, and a great sucking vacuum was forming. He felt a great force building within him, and the Force itself filled him to bursting, the air around him beginning to ripple as he dropped his lightsaber, his hands curling into claws as he took on the appearance of hugging a massive ball of distorted energy. It always happened so unexpectedly. But he was just taken over by the Force. He was merely a conduit for energy, and rarely a channel for it, able to shape it, but most often being a font of energy that did as it pleased. The effect was not unpleasant, but it felt like everything that was inside him was replaced with a swelling surge of lukewarm liquid, and it struggled to get free. M'arek stopped moving through the air as the energy pooled in front of him.
Technique Type: offense/defense/passive Technique Name: Force push Description: Allows the jedi to gather the force together and release it as a concentrated uni-directional burst. While this often does no damage on its own, slamming a target into another object can hurt them terribly, or it can simply be used to off-balance an opponent or clear space.
is treated as a combat roll if used against a combatant. operates on the standard DC system (scaled up by 4) if used against an object. For instance, 100 pounds of weight you would physically move would be 400 pounds going about five feet with force push. The typical blast door or transparisteel window requires DC 15 to break through. +1 to the roll for every point in force push or alter. can be overcharged. Every 2 points of attunement equals +1 to the roll.

M'arek felt his entire connection to the force swelling to a massive wave, ready to crash down on the unsuspecting droid. When it came down to life and death, when M'arek was backed into a corner, this always happened. M'arek's face contorted into a silent scream as a pulse emanated from him, rippling through the air and the force as the massive ball of almost-invisible energy (almost the same size as M'arek) blasted toward the droid as it leaped at him. M'arek felt the energy leave him and leave him with an emptiness he was familiar with in these situations. He had no control when these situations arose; he merely allowed the Force to do as it willed, and it had served him well in the past, ever since the day he was born.

The full might of the Force came crashing down on the droid and blasting M'arek back as he arced through the air, landing in the dirt outside the practice arena on his back, the wind knocked out of his sails for just a moment before he rolled back onto his feet and looked ahead, preparing for the worst. And then he saw the scene. He had caught the droid at the right angle that it was just blasted into the ground, and the metal of its chassis was warped and distorted by its impact with the stone floor of the outdoor practice arena. M'arek drew himself to his full height and paced deliberately forward to retrieve his lightsaber, the droid's photoreceptors whirring loudly as it turned them to face him. M'arek then paced out of the arena, leaving the droid to be scooped up and brought to the repair bay by other droids. These sorts of violent displays of the Force were why he didn't have a master yet. Whenever he got close to losing, the floodgates opened, and it seemed no one was willing to try and tame the beast. Oh, sure, his professors and masters guided him and attempted to teach him restraint, but even in this galactic peacetime, no one appeared to have the time for such a wildcard. He clipped his saber to his belt and sat down outside the practice arena looking in to watch the next fight.

M'arek was dimly aware of the other younglings glancing at him. It was not an aggressive sort of loneliness; M'arek was alone by subtle exclusion, not by intentional slight. He was not the one to be invited out of the blue, he could come, were he invited, or even if he chose to tag along. But that was not his way. He did not try to make friends, because in his mind he already had people to protect, and he had work to do to that end. It was not that he avoided the other children, or that they avoided him, but that their paths never crossed. He was noticed; how could he not be? But he stood out from the rest out of bizarre luck, not some skill he had worked for. He felt like he had to work even harder to prove that he deserved to be treated like a jedi for having earned it, despite not even being in a position to be called a padawan.

The twi'lek M'arek was watching made a masterful stroke and had the droid cornered. The battle was already over, M'arek could see it. The droid should surrender. But the next strike came, and the twi'lek parried it with both hands, knocking the droid's saber aside and advancing another step, the droid attempting to back up and being pressed against one of the stone pillars that rises out of the arena's corner. With a swift and decisive strike, the twi'lek slashed at the emitter for the lightsaber, deactivating it and leaving the droid defenseless. She held her saber to the droid's chest plate and did not move as the droid's combat program terminated, at which point she disabled her saber and walked back to the other younglings, to cheers and congratulations, rejoicing in their shared success. M'arek's face grew distant, his eyes staring elsewhere in his mind.

M'arek looked over at the droid being unceremoniously dragged away by repair droids, the stone cracked at the impact site, a subtle impression of a crater formed around the droid's resting place. M'arek responded in Mirialan "The droid was defeated. Someone won today, but it wasn't me." M'arek never blinked, it seemed, and he returned his gaze back to the nameless Jawa. "What can I do for you, Padawan?" M'arek just seemed like the person who was likely to rip someone's head off for talking to him sometimes. He wasn't completely evil, just unfamiliar with the whole dynamic of these many relationships. He never let his relaxed but coiled demeanor change. It was his natural state of being. Even though his arm rested on his knee, his back to a tree looking on the combat trials of his fellow padawans, he seemed ready to strike, like a snake coiled in the sun.
