Shayde seemed to have been awake for while now, his metal hand having been working on trying to break the lock to the cage for some time. He looked frazzled and panicked as he stopped messing with the lock with his hand and started kicking the door.
“Open, damnit... Open, open, open.... Not safe here... Not safe...” was all that could be heard from him as he finally gave up on breaking the lock and started pacing while chewing on his fingernails. His gaze stopped on Allannia and he stopped moving. “Where's the key?”

Allannia looked to Shayde, "Let me get out first and I will unlock the door" she said as she walked over to the bars, squeezing through as her bones cracked and popped as the went out of place and back into place. She then took the key out of her armor and unlocked the door, opening it, "Are you alright?" she asked Shayde as she kept close to him.

Shayde held a finger up to his lips as if to shush Allannia as he started moving as silently as he could down the stairs.
“No such thing as safe... I'd recognize those footsteps from anywhere... We have to get out... He knows....” he murmured softly around chewing on his nails again. When he reached the landing, he took a right and started looking for a window that would be easier than most windows to jump out of yet was high enough off the ground that they'd be able to catch the wind with their wings. He hissed something unintelligible when his prosthetic leg seemed to stall for a second.

Allannia stayed quiet as she followed Shayde through the hallways and passages till they were nearing a window. She heard Shayde mutter after hearing his leg stall, "Lets leave here quickly, then I can take care of your leg" she mouthed after getting his attention. She knew better than to actually speak, she did not want to draw attention to their location.

He shook his head slightly before finally stepping into a room and climbing up onto the windowsill.
“Come on, come on. It's just acting up 'cause of my nerves. You go out first,” he muttered lowly while stealing a glance at the door and seeming to focus on how far away the footsteps were. The sound of a vase shattering echoed through the halls which just seemed to get him even more twitchy.
"Why'd he have to go off and die? ... I still need him to protect me..." he mumbled absent-mindedly, a visible tremble running down his entire body.

Allannia sighed heavily as she grabbed his non mechanical hand and jumped, she wasn't going to take the chance of him staying behind to get hurt, she unfurled her wings and carried them both high into the sky. She was waiting for him to let her know she could let go so he could fly, she continued to circle higher above the forest.

Shayde blinked having not expected her to drag him with her. After a minute, he let his wings unfurl and start taking up their own wind so as to keep him up yet not interfere with Allannia's flying.
He glanced back at the castle silently as he attempted remembering what all the figure of his nightmares could do. Could that figure fly? He couldn't remember. It had moved too quickly for him to even really tell and the shock of it killing people so swiftly didn't exactly help his memory any. His vision started blurring as he felt the burn of tears start building in his eyes, the screams and crying echoing in his head. He slightly tightened his grip on Allannia's hand before he started picking up speed.
"Curl your wings in. I'll keep you in the air. I just gotta think for a second," he instructed while ignoring the tears running down his face and pulling Allannia towards a storm cloud that would hide them briefly so long as they stayed just above it. He couldn't take Allannia back to the little ones until it was safe, but he needed a place they could hide at until then. Neither of them could fly for an eternity and he wasn't even sure if this thing couldn't fly.

Allannia did as Shayde instructed, keeping tight to his hand as she lifted herself closer to him to make them both more aerodynamic, wrapping her arms around his waist. She could tell he was crying but did not bother him about it yet, letting him focus and think as to what he had been needing to find for them.

After having reached just over the storm cloud, Shayde started to look at his mental map of the land he owned. Where could they hide? A soft clicking sound came from him as he thought about where would be safe even if only a temporary safety zone.
"I got it," he murmured lightly as the clicking stopped and he started moving them quickly through the air towards some thickly wooded area. Once above it, he curled his own wings in and dropped like a rock from the sky, his prosthetic arm picking up Allannia's legs so as to keep her legs from making contact with the ground. After his feet made contact with the ground which seriously hurt yet didn't leave anything cracked or broken, he started weaving through the trees until they reached some jungle ruins. Before his sister was born, him and his brother used to play here. He slid his finger through some unseen hole only to pull open a trapdoor and motion for Allannia to enter it.

Allannia went into the opened place, making sure to bring Shayde with her, as soon as the door closed she wrapped her arms around him and held him close to her. "Are you alright?" she asked him as she looked into his eyes, her eyes able to use what little light there was to see him.

He made a slight nod as he wiped his face off with his left hand only to give a peace sign.
"Yea. It's just been a while since I've heard my family's screams and my sister's crying when I'm not asleep. It just proves that whatever it is that killed them has come back to finish the deed and I no longer have Wei Fang here to protect me as he did so many years ago," he answered softly as a tremble ran down his entire body. He lightly wrapped his arms around Allannia and set his forehead against her shoulder.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry for dragging you into all of this... I can't even protect myself and yet I like to give other's peace of mind by saving them from the marketplace and bringing them here..."

Allannia looked up at him, "You don't need to worry about having to protect me, I am strong and can care for myself, even when I was in the Market Place I was able to keep most of the guards from bothering me" she said softly to him. "You should rest a bit now" she said as she led him over to what looked like a bed made out of cloth and straw.

“I'd feel responsible if any of you got killed though... I brought you all here after all,” Shayde murmured softly as he brushed a deep blue hair out of his face. After reaching the bed, he climbed up onto it and moved into the corner, curling his wings around himself. He could feel the scars on his wings and the area between the prosthetic limbs and eye burning still, but he wouldn't say it aloud. “I'm sorry, Allannia... I didn't think he'd return to this place...”

Allannia crawled into the bed with him, "You don't need to apologize, his return isn't your fault" she said as she touched his metallic arm looking at him with soft eyes. She had never allowed herself to do this with anyone before, she had grown up with a heart as solid as stone, only caring about her survival. She pulled him to her as she wrapped her arms around him, her wings folded over his as her chin rested on the top of his head, she held him close showing that he was not alone anymore.

“It is my fault that he's returned... He's obviously found out that I survived and wants to finish what he's started,” he murmured so softly that it was barely audible. He curled in a bit closer to the female when something scratched over the entrance of the secret hideout. When it passed without opening the door, he relaxed a bit although he still seemed tense. He didn't know how long they'd have to hide for before it, whatever it was, left again.

His mind questioned how the little baby dragons were, how Finnian and Pluto were... How everyone he'd brought here that decided to stay with him were doing... Were they okay? Were they hiding from it? Were they safe or... Dead? A tremble ran down the winged male's body as a tear ran down from his eye again. He couldn't help but want to remain down here crying in fear from the thing that haunted his memories.
