The graceful redblood came into her vision. Tamiya was relieved, but a bit disoriented at first. She was wounded; clearly she had been shielding the younger troll. Tamiya didn't register that she had not been present during the group arrangements prior to the caves - but what she did clearly see was that she was fighting Aendal. It was a long journey since the redblood fought for the gog-forsaken rebels, and here she was. Odette was on her side. Tamiya could have cried if she wasn't fighting back tears from the battle. "Odette. It is you," she breathed. Her fingers tightened around Aendal's slash wound. "I am... Looking for Sinter. He was in the caves. I have not seen him fighting." Her words came out in short, beleaguered breaths. Even with her wounds and her make-up streaked face, nothing paralleled Tamiya's pained expression. She bit her lip and tried to straighten out her posture, but failed. Soon Aendal would be active again.
"This supernatural assbastard could be hiding ******** anywhere," Tamiya growled. "It is a miracle that you are safe. But Sinter... Where is he... Sinter..." She started to mumble and trail off, her eyes darting about rapidly. She had no strategy for finding the troll - he was more of the logistics lead, the strategist. She could carry out orders in a direct fashion. He contained her capriciousness, she lead and let him lead with confidence. Right now she was a mess.

Cops and Robbers Health: 36/40
Ephias flinched and hunched his shoulders under the tealblood's touch. He straightened again when she pulled away, watching with intense curiosity as she pulled out a whiteboard and markers and began to write. A furrow appeared in his brow. That was puzzling. He could think of no other reason for the strange behaviour aside from the possibility that she was mute.
Several seconds later, a message appeared on the board. The ink was faint due to the water but otherwise the words had been printed in neat script. Ephias' eyes flickered as he read over it. He nodded. “I'm Ephias... and that's Wolly.” He gestured to his lusus, who for once had not bounded over to socialise. Instead he stood guard over the two trolls, looking poised and alert. Also completely soaked. His woolly coat clung to his sides and dangled down into the water.
“I'm all...” Ephias started then paused. He had scraped knees, blossoming bruises, over a dozen little cuts on his palms and arms, a singed shoulder, and a deep gash under his right eye. The soot and grime concealed most of his injuries so Milieu had not noticed of course, but now that Ephias considered them, he was beginning to feel the aches and stings. His face remained impassive. “A little,” he corrected, “but I'll be okay.”
Though Ephias might not have shown it, he was relieved to have someone to talk to, even if just for a moment. Over the course of the battle, he had felt increasingly isolated. He was uncertain if his team-mates were alive or dead and as time passed he could not help but think tragedy had befallen them. In the meantime Wolly was all he had. No one else was familiar or had demonstrated concern. How could they? They were all just as busy fighting for their own lives. Yet to make a connection in the midst of all the chaos eased anxiety Ephias did not even realise he had. It meant that someone was on his side.
“I came with my team-mates to find the source of the water short-shortage,” Ephias explained quickly. After all, they did not had have much time. “First we were separated from our lusii, and then each other. I haven't been able to find them though we were all headed the same direction...” Suddenly, Ephias whirled. He had thought he had seen something in the fog. Then again maybe not.
“I had no idea but... of course it would t-turn out like this,” he finished bitterly, hugging his arms. Old Hemisect had begun the same way: a simple benign affair that had rapidly evolved into something ugly and dangerous.

for trolls who have not posted yet You start this battle with the amount of HP you lost during the CYOA subtracted from your health. Groups that reached Aendal's lair first have rested and do not have a health penalty.
Trolls who have lost their lusii: Your lusus has been turned against you, and is struggling against Aendal’s influence and the plants that are holding it hostage. Before you can take part in the battle, you may attempt to free them. Write a RP post in which your troll frees your lusus; you may decide how difficult it is to free them, and how serious their injuries are. Once you get your lusus back, your HP will be the standard 40 for lusii, minus any health lost during the CYOA (except for groups who have rested). As per usual, lusii will take all attacks and the damage directed at their charge during this battle.
252/700how 2 bossfite | wiggler version: electric boogalooAny questions regarding battle mechanics should be asked in the main meta thread. LUSII UNDER AENDAL'S CONTROL: 69/100Aendal may take additional damage from a combined attack when a certain amount of lusii are freed. (staff will keep track of this number and the damage dealt due to this effect.)Lusii needed for next combined attack: 45
Aendal has regenerated 150 HP.
The steam begins to settle as Aendal's oil burns off in the damp cavern. His speed is nearly unmatched, and now he comes into view on the field. There's blood on his face now. He continues his assault, his rage clear, summoning hissing vines to slice open his prey.
If you rolled a 1, you're restrained by the serpentine vines long enough for Aendal to descend upon you. You suffer from a violent bite to the base of your jaw, which rejuvenates Aendal for a powerful attack that leaves you bleeding on the cavern floor. Take 5 damage. If you rolled a 2, the vines slash at your legs as you counter-attack, slowing you down to allow Aendal to take a swipe at you with his machete. Take 4 damage. If you rolled a 3, you're too busy fighting off the vines to notice Aendal on the attack. You barely avoid serious injury when he attacks. Take 3 damage. If you rolled a 4, Aendal's attention is elsewhere. You're left to deal with the vines, which deal 2 damage to you. If you rolled a 5, you easily handle the vines and rush to make up the lost time. You take 1 damage. If you rolled a 6, you dispatch the vines and use Aendal's attention on another poor lusus to crack him on the back of the head - you've just saved someone from a nasty bite! Take 1 damage; deal 3 extra damage this turn.
Half hour options: Fight! Teens can choose to attack Aendal once every half hour, as normal. Free! Kids can attempt to free the lusii from Aendal’s influence. Roll 2d4 as normal at the beginning of the round (first die representing the dodge roll, second representing damage). You can roll 1d4 at each half-hour interval. This roll deals no damage. When you roll two of the same number in a row you free a lusus, which attacks Aendal upon being liberated and deals the sum of those two numbers as damage. Note that the first number (representing dodge) in the 2d4 rolled in the beginning of the round does not count towards freeing a lusus. When this occurs, please post in bold the damage that you have dealt, and that you have freed a lusus. Example: Kid A rolls 2d4 at the beginning of the round and gets a 2 and a 3. At the next half-hour opportunity, they roll 1d4 and get a 3. Since they got two 3’s in a row, they deal a total of 6 damage to Aendal and free a lusus from his grasp.

Odette dealt 2 damage.
Odette eyed Tamiya up and down. She was hurt, and badly. The urge attack her right there was tempting. It would be easy and quick. The mist was thick enough that the other's wouldn't see, and when the air cleared, everyone would assume it was Aendal's doing. But she looked back at Kei and felt a sinking feeling in her chest. She couldn't subject her to that. She would have to wait more.
"Sinter?" Odette questioned, "Do you think he's alright? Is his lusus with him?". She honestly hoped that wherever the redblood was, he was safe. But from what Odette was noticing, it looked like Tamiya might need his help more than he needed hers.
"It is was more my moirail than a miracle. If not for her, and this one here," she gestured to Kei, "I'd certainly not be safe."
Aendal was active again, vicious as ever. This time he was using speed to his advantage, but Odette had speed on her side, too. She took some minor damage, but not enough to distract her from protecting Kei.

The fog was finally starting to fade, which lessened the fear and suspense of being hack-n-slashed out of the blue. And there was the violent oaf himself, off giving others a hard time. The jadeblood was definitely getting the crap beat out of him, if the blood was any hint to go off of. Maybe the end of this madness was in sight? For now, Reemus and his lusus, as well as hopefully his little group, were under the radar. A small respite, and very much needed, at that.
Unfortunately, the newest model of vines were independent from their chlorokinetic master, and took a swipe at Reemus from behind, which Gillian jumped in to take in his stead. Fortunately, she had it in her jaws before it could do much more than give her a rather small cut compared to taking a machete to the shoulder earlier.
Current HP: 28 - 2 = 26 / 40 HP Damage done: 2
