Well, being as I am Mormon (I am not brainwashed, thank you very much) I understand the fear that most people have for others immortals souls. That is true with any religious sect be it catholic, baptists, ect. While members did dump money into the campaign to ban Gay Marriage, so did -Other- churches. At least four major religions from what I remember. However there is a difference between Mormons and Utah Mormons + the Utah Mormon Happy Valley Culture. Instead of saying '******** the Mormons' you should really think about saying '******** the ultra Conservitives.'
I have many many gay friends and while I may not approve of it sometimes, I don't have the right to say that they cannot get married and share a life with each other. And even if it turned into a religious debate, even if I believed it was a sin, that is between them and God and I have no part in that discussion.
MY job, as has everyone who is christian, was set forth by Christ long ago in the edict 'Love thy neighbor.' There are many Mormons, especially those who live outside Utah that feel the same way. Our purpose is to love everyone even if we personally disapprove of their choices. I'm sure many people disapprove of my own. But that doesn't change what we are all supposed to do. That is love and care for the people around us.
Now as for Gay Marriage, please do something about it. If you are for giving them the choice to get married then vote for it. That's what I did.

I spent the last half hour trying to come up with some sort of super intelligent super amazing response to this, but I have a massive head cold and I can't think straight, so I'm just gonna say that I'm a gay Mormon and I completely agree with what you said. ^_^

I'm all for people being happy and comfortable with who they are. We have no rights to tell people who they can and cannot love. It destroys the very nature of love and in the end becomes something of a twisted mockery, hurting everyone involved and who will be involved. If one isn't intentionally causing harm physically, emotionally, or mentally to those who love them, then others should have no say. Especially legally. Moral choices can always be debated within sects of people and cultures. But never should there be a law that causes so much heartache like that.

You can be Mormon and gay. It's okay to be that way. Love with all your heart, and most importantly love yourself and always strive for happiness.
