Walking to the living room, Ayluin didn't notice that Erik had suddenly stopped in his tracks. Even if he had, he wouldn't have questioned it, since he just gave them permission to wander wherever they pleased. Or perhaps he was just admiring the plants. When he heard Erik's reply though he did look back with surprise on his features. "Really? How odd. Well you are free to wonder here. I'm not worried." he said and chuckled. It was true he had one secret, a very big one but he wasn't lying about that. If ever found out he would just admit it but the evidence of that was under tight lock and key in the drawers next to his bed and the key was around his neck, hidden under his shirt. So the moonelf had no problems with letting them roam around by themselves. Ayluin smiled when he noticed Krotak enjoying his meal. The moonelf was glad that the raven was content with their gift. "There is more in the fridge in case you finish that and would like more Mr. Krotak." he said as he walked by and stopped for a moment to see if Erik came along or if they decided to roam by themselves.

As Erik replied to his apology, the elf noticed their glance at the piano. It even seemed it blocked their mind for a moment. That was quite interesting he had to say. "You are welcome to play on it if you want." he said, just in case Erik would like to. It would seem they took him up on his offer to look around though and Ayluin nodded. "Of course, enjoy your exploration. If you need my help with something you can just shout." the moonelf said and chuckled a bit. The young man was glad that he could offer them reprieve from the hot weather outside, though it begged to question: How come they would be stuck outside? He didn't want to pry though so instead he nodded and smiled when they had said they would look around themselves and Ayluin walked towards the kitchen and picked up the book about baking that he had purchased yesterday and invited them.

Of course they wouldn't have been in his way at all, but Ayluin didn't mind. He opened up the book about baking and looked through it as he searched for the pages that he had put a paper between. He had decided to make that before the shops closed so he could be prepared. There was apple pie, but the paper that was within the book on the page of apple pie had a recipe he found online, with some help, that was a pastry with spiced beef, since Erik had mentioned he liked spicy. And like a good host, Ayluin wanted to ensure his guests had a great day, perhaps even evening if they would like to stay longer then just the morning and afternoon. It would be fine with the moonelf. He didn't have ingredients to make dinner for three, but he had heard of those delivery systems that were available on this continent. That would work in a pinch.

⬤ One of his abilities is that he can grow plants from seeds. Nothing major but he can grow small fruits (berries, strawberries etc.) and herbs.

He can conjure a powerful shield of energy which blocks attacks and repels the attacker. But the more often he has to use it or the longer he has to sustain it, the more energy this drains. The same goes for how many he is protecting. If it is just himself it takes less energy than when protecting two or more. If he is to tired he can't call upon the shield at all.

"For a new beginning

Our heads are spinning
And we won't calm down
We're a wall in motion
Or a change is now walk in the park
What comes around
Goes around
You better watch out
We're the children of the dark

We're nothing like you, we're true and free
We're nothing like you but you can't see
We're nothing like you and all the rest
We're nothing like you

We're the children of the dark"

Erik Leroux

Ay had nothing to hide huh? Well, he had said he didn't mind if Erik looked around, perhaps he thought he had hidden stuff well enough that no one would find it? Surprisingly, both options seemed likely to him; usually he would have only assumed the latter unless it was a child in question, but Ay had a childlike quality about him...though he was not entirely certain why he got that vibe from the elf. On the one hand, it felt like a challenge now: find some dirt on this saintly individual, since he seemed confident there was nothing; but at the same time it felt like setting a trap to prove Santa was real only to catch your parents: a tough challenge that would only lead to disappointment. No, he would not snoop that closely, but if he did happen to catch something that made him suspicious, he would surely investigate, it was in his nature to solve unknowns. He gave Ay a wry grin "if I find anything scandalous, I'll be sure to hide it better for you." What sort of scandalous object it could be, he wasn't sure. Hell, he suspected that Ay probably didn't even have a dirty magazine here or anything. Too freaking clean. Frankly, Krotak wasn't paying much attention to what was going on, but his attention finally caught when he heard there was more meat around for him. His eyes had an almost anime-like sparkle to them as he turned back to regard Ay, a piece of steak caught near the tips of his beak. He swallowed it down before responding, "you are a very gracious host. I will tell the other corvids of you." That was about all of the pause he was going to give: fresh meat was too much of a treat to let sit.

"Thanks. I'll do that after I've looked around. It's been ages since I've gotten to play. Miss it terribly." A master had taught him to play, and though he was a fast learner, he never seemed to get many chances to practice. Hell, last time he had gotten the chance was probably about six years ago. "I wonder if I still can play? Six years without practice, well, without real practice, is a long time... Damn, Mr. Gjoni would be so disappointed." Call if he needed help? What could he possibly need help with while checking out a house? Well, what info could he possibly need that wouldn't arouse suspicion? Cause knowing where a spare key and/or which windows were opened and when would be incredible information to have, but the questions practically screamed of "rob you blind." "Sure, if I get lost in here and require a search party I'll let you know." Yep, there was a characteristic snark back, a trait he had been trying to downplay while he was lying low, but which was more a part of his being than even his genetics. Soon as Ay was gone, he left to go exploring, leaving Krotak to do whatever he wanted. There were a few random rooms on the first floor, but it seemed the more significant ones were the kitchen and living room, then a garage off to the side. He did snoop in the garage, just to see what sort of ride Ayluin had (did elves even have cars?) but found basically an empty void. "Damn, such a big house he has rooms completely empty. I could definitely have a whole apartment in here if I wanted." It would have been infinitely bigger than his bedroom growing up (to be fair, it was tiny because he shared a room with his younger brother, any sibling who was three or younger. Plus, if anyone had a nightmare, they always ran straight to big brother, eternally claiming they would never ever go back to sleep unless they got to sleep with him.) From the garage, he made his way up to the second floor (he was gonna save the kitchen for last,) which seemed to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The doors were open, so he figured he may as well pop in. The first room was one of the bedrooms, judging by the mini library it was safe to say this was Ay's room. He knew he should have been snooping for pawnable goods, but books always stole his attention. Seemed the elf was interested in history, plants, and herbalism. Not really that surprising he supposed. Next was the guest room. It was a lot smaller, and he nearly had a heart attack the moment his eye flickered past the cat mural. Yeah, if he stayed here, he was going to need to put a sheet over that or something, it made him nervous even looking in the room. Too much time around birds, he supposed. But other than that nightmare of a mural, it was a pretty nice room, definitely someplace he wouldn't mind staying if need be. Even his pride had to admit that Ay's house would be a sweet place to crash for a while, but the likelihood of that ever happening seemed next to nil.

He had been strolling leisurely as he toured, so by the time he returned to the living room, most of the sweat had already dried. Approaching the piano, a tremble arose in his hands as he touched the lacquered wood of the lid. He gently sat down and laid his fingers upon the keys, but for a moment it was as if every song he had ever known, even his knowledge of pianos had left him. Seeing his ward's return, Krotak ceased fluttering about on his own tour and swooped to perch upon the back of a chair. Erik inhaled a deep breath, held it a moment, then slowly exhaled. A song had come to him, one he was actually rather good at, but it was sort of depressing. Oh well, his return could be marked by sorrow, at least the song had some emotion in it. Soon came the opening notes of "Morsal," clear, perhaps even cheerful notes, but soon the gloom in the music became apparent. Allowing himself to only be lost so much for now, he quietly sang along. By the time he got to the chorus though, his inhibitions had died and he was using his full voice, not particularly loud of course, but no longer was he trying to not be heard. Even though the original song had drums, electric guitar, and cello, the solo piano version wasn't too bad (though some of the beautiful sweep of sound was lost.) Barely noticing that one song he launched into another one, he launched into another song by the same band, this one had a harder sound, but "Prison" was still a beautiful song. Afterwards he went for some variety: this time the piano version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," then another and another until he felt Krotak land upon his shoulder. Finally broken out of his trance, he realized that almost an hour had passed him by unawares. "You're right Kro, I should probably go check and make sure he hasn't burned anything down yet." He stood, then turned back to the piano, his fingertips slowly caressing the smooth pristine keys. With a sigh he headed into the kitchen. "Can I help with anything?" Oh geez he hoped Ay hadn't been listening in on him.

"These vengeful thoughts trapped underneath
Rage, scorn, misery
Payback for what you took from me
Hope, love, sanity
I heard that you reap what you sow
So here's to believing in ghosts
Now when you see my face you’ll know
You can't save yourself
Or save your soul
When you meet the man whose life you stole
With weathered wings and broken bones
A flight for the fallen flies the crow"

The elf blinked a bit at Erik's comment before he chuckled slightly. The chance of them finding something scandalous was nihil, since Ayluin didn't have any. Ayluin had smiled to Krotak when they commented about his hosting and to tell the other Corvids. It would seem he might have to anticipate more feathered visitors. Not that the elf minded. He adores all animals. "Sure thing, I'll make sure to have a stock for them." the young man commented and with a last look to Erik as they moved he went into the kitchen, completely unaware of the actual meaning behind those latter words. They had been a bit odd, but that was all. Soon enough he had no time to worry about it either way as he completely focused on his recipes to get them done well for them all. Not for a moment did it occur to the moonelf to go look what the others were doing, he had complete faith in his guests.

In the kitchen it soon smelled like meat on the stove since Ayluin decided to prepare the meat pastry first. It took a lot more prep than the apple pie. The young man kept to the rules in the recipe to a letter and smiled once he finally put the beef pastries in the oven and put the heat and duration like the recipe told him to. Once set and turned on he started on the apple pie. He had two ovens so it wasn't a problem to have them going at the same time. He was slightly distracted for a moment when he heard the piano and then singing and he smiled as he realized it must be Erik on the piano. He was pretty good actually. The young man focused back on his task and filled a smaller bowl with sugar flour and spices like ginger and cinnamon which he then mixed together completely, looking on the recipe a few times as he did so. After that he cut up apples, which was the easiest of the entire cooking and baking today since he was well versed in fruit and fruit meals, and mixed them with the spices and lime juice. After that he made the dough parts and filled them up with the apple and spices mixture before he closed it up. Before he could put them in the oven though he heard the song Hallelujah and it sounded amazing.

The moonelf walked to the opening that connected the kitchen with the living room and looked at Erik at the piano as they seemed completely absorbed in the music. With a gentle smile Ayluin leaned against the wall a bit as he listened to the song until he remembered he completely forgot to put the pie in the oven. Ayluin nearly ran back to the prep area before he slipped and fell on the ground. The moon elf uttered a soft sound of pain and rubbed his head but when he looked at his hand he saw no blood so he shrugged a bit and got up before looking at his clothes. He was a complete mess he realized as he did his best to dust himself off for all the good that did not to mention his hair. Ayluin sighed a bit and then just ignored it in favor of getting the pie into the oven. It wasn't a disaster after all, he would just take a shower soon and he didn't hurt anything too badly. The young man just finished setting the second oven when he heard the music stop and he looked at the living room. It didn't take long for Erik to come walking into the kitchen. Ayluin smiled when they asked if they could help but shook his head. "All is set, all we can do is wait for them to be done. Well...and I need to clean up the kitchen a bit." he muttered a bit, not eager to risk another slip like earlier, or to risk Erik slipping. "Don't worry about it though, just make yourself at home." he added back to his cheerful self. He didn't mind to clean up and perhaps he would have some time to wash himself as well before they could eat, if he was fast enough. "Ah, you sounded great with the piano earlier. I could tell that you have practiced and aren't a stranger to the keys." the moonelf complimented Erik as he picked up the dishes to make a start on that, though he would make sure to clean the floor a bit first so he got rid of the slippery part.

The scent hit him long before any other sense could process the scene. Spiced meat competed with apples which competed with the warm spices which coated them. Well, “competed” was one word for it, and though each vied for dominance, it was more of a seductive competition, each trying to earn more of his favor than the other. In that instant, it felt like he hadn’t eaten in days and he could barely force himself to wait. He swallowed hard and forced himself to focus on his host as it seemed the other had started saying something to him. Wow, the guy had gotten everything all set up and ready to go? Damn, how long had he been at the piano? ”Thanks. I hadn’t played in years, I was worried I might have forgotten. Guess music is one of those things that sticks with you no matter how long.” Which wasn’t exactly true, he knew he used to be much better when he was younger, under the tutelage of Pëllumb Gjoni, but those days were long gone. ”I had a good teacher is all.” Those had been fun nights, when one of the grandkids would name a song or play a new popular one, and Pëllumb would immediately convert it to a solo piano song. The man really had an ear for music, so how on earth did he ever come to think that SoraErik would be a worthy pupil? Oh well, these glum thoughts were not going to get him anywhere. ”Looks like you could have used my help after all: seems you got in a fight with the flour, and I hate to say it, but I think you lost.” Seriously, it was like when one of his little siblings decided they were going to make a cake or something: the kitchen turned into a disaster zone with flour coating the walls and ceiling and covering the floors like fifty years of dust. After incidents like that, he would always be tasked with cleaning up after them, but at least more often than not he could get said sibling to help him out. ”I’ll clean up in here, lest the flour jump off the shelf for round two.” And that meant he would be around the food and maybe he could sneak a taste? Though that was probably a bad idea: one little taste would be a temptation, not any sort of relief.

Welp, with Ayluin working on dishes, Erik figured he would go ahead and sweep up the flour on the floor lest someone lose their footing. The broom and dustpan were tucked away somewhere completely logical, thus were easy to find. Heading back into the battlefield, he started sweeping right by Ay, sweeping the flour towards a central location. Others might have moved it to a corner or something out of the way, but that meant having to push some of the debris a lot further than other sections, and the further you swept, the more likely you were to lose a bit of it. In a weird way, he was basically doing what Ayluin had told him to do, to “make himself at home.” The house in which he grew up, though he would never call it home, it had falsely earned the monicker, he spent a lot of his time doing chores and taking care of his younger siblings. Given the decided lack of children around here, cleaning was the only thing he could do for it to be “like home.” And well, even in the one place he had always called home (in his thoughts, at least) he had done chores every now and then, just to be of help to the family that lived there. If he helped the kids, then the sooner they could get back to playing; but mostly he liked helping the father, the man had always treated him like he was wanted and appreciated, and little Sora could never get enough of that feeling. Great, there he went thinking about the past again, as if it would ever help him in the future. Nope, his past was long behind him, and he was trying to make a new life for himself. He needed to keep his head in the moment.

"These vengeful thoughts trapped underneath

It sounded like Ayluin wasn't far off when he noticed they were quite studied with the instrument. The elf nodded when they finished. "That must be why. You sounded great." he said. When Erik commented about the mess though, the young man smiled a bit rubbing his head. "I'm afraid I may have knocked over the flour when I slipped earlier." he admitted, feeling slightly embarrassed about his clumsy retreat to the kitchen. Before he slipped the kitchen had been fine except for that little bit of oil on the floor but it had been enough to sent him flying a bit. At least he had been well on time for the pie and managed to avoid it burning. That was the most important to Ayluin right now. Of course that was not to say he had always been this good at baking. Before making this recipe step by step most his experience had been helping their personal baker out with making the pastries and mostly it had been easy tasks and there had been plenty of times where the young Ayluin had seen white from flour much to his father's chagrin. There had been a time he ended up restrained to his own room for a few days after a fiasco in the kitchen. Of course he could do all he wanted in the room at that time, but he wasn't allowed to leave.

It had done nothing to quell the moonelf's wish to live a normal life, he had always felt like he just wasn't meant for the ruler's life. That was all ended now though. Ayluin doubted that his father would look for him all the way here. They'd probably stick to Odoraen at any rate until fully combed out without result. Despite it, all the times with their personal baker were always fond memories. A light chuckle came from Ayluin when Erik spoke of a round two and shook his head. "Let's hope not. It's bad enough already." he replied with a soft laugh. Sure the kitchen wasn't a huge mess but there was flour everywhere. He had no idea that he managed to knock over this much. "If you are really alright with that, I won't stop you. Thank you Erik. If you want me to help let me know." he said and smiled. It was kind of odd to, again, have someone else clean the mess he made, especially with the life he wanted to leave behind, but his friend really seemed intent on doing it. And it was a great help to the moonelf too. With Erik helping out, he could focus on the dishes and keeping an eye on the last few moments in the oven for the meat pie while the apple pie was cooling off.

Ayluin was moving between the dishes and checking the oven a few times, but he made sure to not get in Erik's way. At the same time though he made sure he was able to help if his friend would ask him to. If he finished the dishes then he could help for sure, but there was quite some. The moonelf went to work diligently and while some might consider such chores tedious, Ayluin liked doing them. Just as he noticed he liked the idea of cooking for someone else besides him, not to mention to be able to treat them to something delicious. As mundane it may seem to others, to him it was a whole new experience and he loved it. Once he checked the oven at the time it was actually done, Ayluin washed his hands, opened the oven and took the pie out using oven mitts to avoid burning himself on the iron. With a glance at the recipe he saw it needed to cool as well, though that made kind of sense, so he placed it next to the apple pie and closed the oven. "Almost time to eat I'd say. Once it isn't this hot of course. We don't want to burn ourselves." he said cheerfully to Erik before returning to the dishes.

Chores were completed in silence, but it was a perfectly amicable silence created by both of them being more focused in getting the work done. Why Ay was so focused, Erik wasn’t really sure, but he had to focus on his work so that the smell of food didn’t drive him crazy. It smelled so damn good, and sans last night, he hadn’t had a home-cooked meal in months. Besides, he usually lived off of whatever cheap s**t he could find/afford, which was never filling or particularly balanced. He finished sweeping just a little before Ay checked on the oven, apparently deciding that everything was done cooking. So…could they start now? That would be really nice, but no, it had to cool down. Sure third degree burns sucked, but they might have been worth it at the moment. ”I’m not yet convinced that burns aren’t worth it. Smells too damn good to let it sit around.” Hopefully Ay wouldn’t read too much into it, after all, teens/young adults were kind of known for having an endless appetite, and he was easily recognizable as being in that age range, right? Then again, depending on your elven mythos, some of them just hit a certain age and stayed at it until they died. So if Ay was one of those elves, then perhaps he wouldn’t assume age based upon appearance. But Erik was sure he didn’t act too old, so that had to count for something, right? ”I’m just gonna go ahead and dry the dishes for you so I’m not standing here idle.” Translation: he needed something to work on so he could distract himself.

”So…you seem to have a whole credos for hosting, but you eagerly launch into cooking and cleaning. Back wherever you came from, were you a socialite or a nexus like Gertrude Stein or something? Just curious is all.” Asking personal questions like that was probably a bad idea in the long run: it would encourage Ay to ask him questions back, but at the same time he needed more intel on the guy so that he could gauge just how to use him. Yeah yeah, that sounded horrible, but Erik didn’t care. What he needed to know is if this was a connections guy, a rich guy, someone to be wary around, or someone safe; that’s all that Erik cared about. Granted, safe was a very rare designation, thus far only his siblings had it, but there was probably a slightly greater chance of being classified as safe than winning the lottery, maybe. Even with the questioning, his eyes were still glancing towards the stovetop where the two pies were just sitting there, wafting their perfume under his nose, whispering lusty promises that only he could hear…it was absolute torture.

"These vengeful thoughts trapped underneath
Rage, scorn, misery
Payback for what you took from me
Hope, love, sanity
I heard that you reap what you sow
So here's to believing in ghosts
Now when you see my face you’ll know
You can't save yourself
Or save your soul
When you meet the man whose life you stole
With weathered wings and broken bones
A flight for the fallen flies the crow"

The silence between them was perhaps the longest since they met while in the same area. But since it was more focused than anything else, Ayluin didn't really mind. He knew some people couldn't take it if longer silences fell, but for him it really depended on the situation. And right now they were just concentrated on their chores. When Erik spoke, the moonelf chuckled a little. "I'm flattered you are so eager to try the pies. But let's try not to get unnecessary injuries." he said and smiled to Erik. Though indeed he didn't think anything too much in it since Krotak had already shared that Erik was a teenager. It had been surprising of course, since Ayluin was very much an adult even to his own people's standard, albeit a young one, but mostly because they warned Ayluin their appetite was big. He had even played into that knowledge and used his largest pie shapes he had. Unbeknownst to his friend's past, it didn't occur to Ayluin that they didn't eat much. Coming from a life with aplenty, the moonelf had worked hard to get where he was now and be able to always afford fresh groceries for his meals.

The moonelf smiled and nodded when Erik offered to dry the dishes. "Of course if you want to." he said, his voice grateful for the help. His mother would probably be proud of him if she knew. How much her pampered, 'little' prince had grown since he left his parental home and continent. He did worry at times that she might be thinking the wildest thoughts and actually wondered for the first time since he left if he perhaps should at least find a way to let her know he was doing just fine. Of course without revealing his new place of residence. At home they would just use an owl or pigeon, depending on time of day, but here they had these post offices, something he wasn't known with to be honest. Perhaps he could ask Yoshi someday to explain it to him. It was almost as if his friend could read his mind though when they suddenly asked a question. It caught Ayluin slightly off guard when he heard Erik and he looked at them with a surprised look on his features and a little bit of confusion.

He kind of wondered how to bring it without revealing too much of his life before this. So when he replied, not very long after the question, he did hope he did it well enough. "I'm not sure what a nexus is or who Gertrude Stein is, but you could say we were a socialite family." he started. This was the easy part as it was true, just watered down a little. To be honest he wasn't sure how much would change if Erik ever found out he was talking to a runaway prince. He'd rather not that they would treat him differently or even worse, would treat him like...well a prince. Ayluin just wanted to be friends on equal level. "I never did get much chance to do household chores or live a 'normal' life as one might call it. But I left that life behind me. I started a new life, here in Soleil. Yoshi, my friend, joined me for a large part of my journey and when I got here I met a kind man called Driz and after that his wife Ceres and now you.

So I guess you could say I am eager to welcome my friends in my home and be their host."
he admitted and smiled a bit as he revealed that, perhaps a little embarrassing, fact about himself. "I think the pies should be edible now, not too hot. Let's finish this after and eat first." the moonelf spoke and chuckled a bit after he replied and looked at the pies once more. It hadn't escaped even Ayluin how Erik seemed to want to eat them so badly. The chores could wait. The moonelf walked to the pies and picked them up to place them on the table with their plates and smiled. "Go ahead and dig in both." he said to Erik and Mr. Krotak if the raven was interested. The moonelf would take some for himself and leave most of it for his two friends. Ayluin's stomach wasn't as big after all. "What about you? How was your time before Soleil, and you Mr. Krotak?" he asked curiously in return once they were all settled. Of course they didn't need to answer if they didn't want to, but Ayluin was just as curious about Erik and Krotak as they seemed to be about him.

ON HIS PERSON

House Keys
Several bags of seeds

HIS ABILITIES

⬤ One of his abilities is that he can grow plants from seeds. Nothing major but he can grow small fruits (berries, strawberries etc.) and herbs.

He can conjure a powerful shield of energy which blocks attacks and repels the attacker. But the more often he has to use it or the longer he has to sustain it, the more energy this drains. The same goes for how many he is protecting. If it is just himself it takes less energy than when protecting two or more. If he is to tired he can't call upon the shield at all.

Beginner Illusions
He can cast the more basic magic from the school of Illusions. This in his case is most strong when he casts animals. They are also more solid and interactive when the full moon is high.

It was still rather early when Ayluin stirred. Still he didn't take to long to fully wake up. With a yawn and a stretch the elf sat up in his bed for only a moment as he hadn't forgotten he had visitors. Since it had gotten rather late the day before, they had agreed that Erik might as well stay the night so they had been offered the guestroom for the night. The young man smiled a bit and got out of his bed before he made straight to the bathroom which was also connected to his bedroom. In fact it was connected to both rooms. Ayluin looked into the bathroom carefully first, just in case Erik might be up early. The elf respected their privacy after all. After determining for sure they were possibly still asleep, the young man silently got ready and took his shower before he dried himself and got dressed for the day. His hair was still drying as it always took a while so once he got dressed in his thin silk pants and thin silk shirt he made sure to put a dry towel between his hair and his clothes. At least it was no longer dripping.

After that the elf got himself to the kitchen and opened the backdoor to let the, for now, cool air in. Ayluin had seen the weather report and he would make sure to close the door again before the heat would get to close. For a moment he thought to himself as he tried to think of what to make for breakfast but he then set out to make some pancakes. After all, everyone liked those right? And even the inexperienced runaway could make those. Deciding to make quite a stack, keeping in mind he had three mouths to feed right now or two mouths and a beak, the elf started with taking all the ingredients from his fridge and cabinets. It was a good thing he had decided to stock up the day before Erik would come over for the first time. Once he had everything, Ayluin started to work on the batter. All he had to do was to adjust the amount of everything times three. It took a bit longer to make with how more ingredients there were used, but to Ayluin it was worth it. Unlike some perhaps, he actually enjoys making meals for others.

Once the batter was done, the elf set up the pan he would use and turned on the stove before he started working on the pancakes themselves. Over time the plate next to him was growing with fresh pancakes neatly stacked on top of each other with another plate on top to keep most of the warmth in it since he didn't know when Erik or Mr. Krotak would wake up. Once he had a veritable stack and worked through the batter, Ayluin moved it into the oven and turned on the 'keep warm' function which could effectively increase the time it took for the pancakes to cool down. Satisfied with the breakfast, the young man then started to set the table, even giving Krotak his own spot with a plate and a clean low glass while the other two places had a plate and normal glasses. After that he made sure to go into the cabinet and fridge once more. This time for syrup, jam in case anyone fancied that and powdered sugar. Of course they could always add more options if they wanted to, but that was what Ayluin put on the table to begin with before he turned to the counter and started to clean the dishes he had used to make breakfast while he waited for the other two.
