Shocru, a massive repair station for all peoples of all wealth levels.
Bring your ship in for repairs. If you have the credits you can also
rent a room or meal vouchers. Some of the wealthier customers
have even purchased permanent accommodations including food.
The station itself is capable of housing over 200,000 customers,
and 200,000 operating crew. Each repair bay has additional housing
for ten attached that provides homes for the each of the repair crews
that run the various repair bays. Each crew has it's own set of rules,
prices, and ethics. Some people prefer specific crews and are willing
to pay more for that crew if they have to, some just want a cheap set
of repairs no matter who they get.
Some shops do exist here for parts, it is after all a salvage station, but
for the most part this isn't a Market place. A city dedicated to a purpose
they do host a number of Bars, restaurants, grocers, and so on.. but this
is certainly not a tourist attraction and few people seek it out as such. The
culture is brisk and clannish, outsiders are typically called 'Drifters'.
While not really a insult, and used by most residents naturally.. It isn't a
compliment either.
The station itself is held in orbit by a massive gas planet named Grolos,
vital chemicals are harvested from the 'surface' to fuel ships and honestly
the scenery it offers out of the station's windows isn't bad either. Thanks to
the rotation of the planet the station has a natural and steady day/night cycle
as it orbits the celestial body.
