[MMBN] To take a hand and dance again

Dates were not something Colonel.exe was familiar with. In fact, his only real knowledge of them came from the various e-books he had downloaded and read during his off-hours, and somehow he didn't think there were quite as many vampires in the real thing as there were in his novels.

Nonetheless, the stranger had intrigued him, moreso when she was clearly something not.. quite a navi, and was rather pretty besides. So he had tracked her destination IP when she fled and sent a message to the navi-in-residence, and on a whim, offered to meet her and attempt to get to know her.

He hadn't quite expected a response, let alone a positive one, but he'd received it. And so he was here now, approaching the destination server with a commander's caution and a strange sot of excitement that he couldn't place - a strange excitement that only increased when he saw her again, just as clearly not-a-navi as before, only dressed far finer....

And he had to hide a smile as he saw her walk straight into a wall.

Surely she didn't think he was going to try to fight her or some such nonsense?

"Colonel," he said simply, feeling no need to add the '.exe' in this situation - he wasn't introducing himself on a professional level, after all, but instead a personal one. Then a small smile crept over his features as he offered the young lady his hand.

"I hope that's a more suitable form of address than what you tried to use earlier."

"I can ask my operator to make me less... aesthetically pleasing if it bothers you that much," Colonel found himself saying, amused despite himself by the young woman tripping over her own tongue. "But I don't think you actually would want that, unless I'm mistaken." He smiled and offered her his arm. "Until you decide, would you do me the honor of granting me your company?"

"You don't look messy to me?" The navi offered, blinking before beginning to walk with her deeper into the pseudo garden. "You've made a lovely environment, after all," he said, voice oddly gentle for a military navi. "If I may guess - you've used this before? It looks too well-done to have been designed in the time since we met."

"It is lovely," Colonel.exe said, voice soft with a kind of wonder. "Lovely, and not something you see serverside." In pictures of the physical world, sure, and the glimpses through screens at it as well. But recreated so faithfully anywhere on the 'net? No, that was far from common. "You must be very skilled, Miss Wren."
