The Transdimensional Battle Royale
You awaken in a strange world. The ground is an endless plane of large, white tiles. The sky is purple with dark blue and purple clouds. Lightning flashes constantly, never hitting the ground, but streaking across the sky. All around you are other fighters in the same situation as you, unsure of where they are or what has happened. Before you get a chance to explore or talk to anyone, a booming voice is heard.
“Welcome to the first Transdimensional Battle Royale! Standing before you are some of the greatest fighters the multiverse has ever seen! I, the great Xen, have gathered you all for the most glorious of events ever seen! A battle to the death with the winner gaining a single wish as the prize! Winner takes all, losers get destroyed…let’s see some serious combat! BEGIN!”

The Transdimensional Battle Royale is part roleplay, part game. Some of you may have seen this type of game before, as I’m sure it’s a common forum game. I myself have seen it another guild. The story above tells you all you need to know about the setting. It’s a featureless void designed as a neutral battlefield. You may play as any character, original or otherwise. All characters are identical in game mechanics, so it’s perfectly reasonable in this battle for d'Artagnan to go toe-to-toe with Goku. As attacks are handled by the mechanics, which will be explained below, all you need to worry about is writing them. Anything goes. Does your character fight by controlling plants? Make a tree burst from the ground. Is your character Aquaman? Take control of a sea monster that has also been transported, just nobody noticed up until now.
To join, PM me with the title "Transdimensional Battle" and your character. You don't need a huge description, but at least a sentence describing what they are and how they fight would be appreciated. This is also required if you're playing a non-original character, as not everyone will know who they are.
One last thing, There can only be one of a given character. First come, first served. I'll reply to your PM if someone already beat you to it. |

Rules
• You may perform one of two actions per post: attack another character or heal yourself.
• An action is performed by posting the relevant action and rolling a 20-sided die using Gaia’s built-in dice roller. If you are attacking, quote the player and mention their character’s name in the post. Damage dealt or healed is equal to the number rolled. Eg. “I attack The Terminator.” Or “I heal myself.”
• Everyone starts with 100 maximum HP. You may not exceed that for any reason. Once you hit 0, you die. You may post a final death scene if you wish.
• You may not double post unless there are no other posts for 24 hours. Posting again shortly after someone else posts is acceptable.
• You may not attack someone who has already been attacked unless either 24 hours pass or they post, whichever comes first.
• One character per person. Anyone using a mule to play more than one player will have all their characters instantly killed.
• Fictional characters only. You may play either an original character or a character from any fictional medium.
• No godmodding. Just because you scored 20 damage on a hit or even killed your opponent does not mean you get to decide how the other character reacts to it. This includes characters who fight by mind control etc. If you have such a character, invent a random NPC to control to use your attack. On the other side of the coin, no matter how fast your character is, you cannot dodge attacks. You can, however, heal yourself (if you survived the attack) and roleplay that as your character having dodged the attack.
• Your character and attacks are flavour only. A fire elemental can still harm someone who, in canon, is immune to fire.
• Please roleplay your posts. You should react to being hit (preferably taking the amount of damage into account, Ie. A low number means a graze while a high number is a serious blow) and describe how you perform your action. Did you punch, shoot or throw a fireball? Or did you meditate, drink a healing potion or cast a healing spell? Describe it!
• I will edit everyone’s HP as often as I possibly can. I’ll try to be speedy with it so no-one gets confused. To help with that, it might be a good idea to calculate your own HP and post it somewhere in your own post. This is completely optional, however.
• Please do not post in the thread if you are not part of the current battle. This gets really confusing for everyone.
• Don’t take this seriously! This is just for fun. Keep the fighting in-character. |
