Spring was in full bloom! The hills were painted every color known to this world with wild flowers that dressed them like an elegant gown. Even with the sky painted red, purple, and golden the colors shown bright. Frosted with the diamonds of morning dew. The sight was a splendor to behold... for those who were able to see.

Cassian's forked tongue flicked out several times before he flared his nostrils and took in a deep breath. The world around him was black, painted only by the smells he could pick up around him and his own imagination. A wet earthy smell told him it was early. Dew had its own fresh smell, like the smell of new beginning. Animals had yet to crawl over the grass and disturb the dirt beneath the flowers.

Once again his tongue flicked out, than his head turned toward the east. There were a lot of flowers. Their smells were so meshed together he could barely pick apart which kinds were around him. He lifted a paw and allowed it to drift to and fro carefully, gently allowing his long talons to brush against the silky pedals. Common wild flowers, nothing special. Their pedals were round and very thin. Most had five to seven of these pedals and a very puffy center. The smelly part of the flower. His bent his elbows and leaned in close to the flowers so his scaly nose gently brushed against the puffy smelly part. He than lapped his tongue over the surface. Nothing special, but they did taste well.
