Central City University

Central City's young adults seeking to expand their minds attend here, right in the midst of Central City's University Town. With affordable housing for students, who are likely minimum wage, cheap, yet good restaurants, and entertainment (with more than a few bars), those who attend the University also live comfortable lives in preparation for working in Central City.

Police activity is high here due to the likelihood of students being drunk in public.

>Eobard Thawn ~ Professor Zoom<

Eobard, Professor Zoom, ran through the college grounds. Sprinting past students as he ran to the highest point. He had burnt up the grounds with a bolt as he ran, letting The Flash know he was there. Through the news while he recovered he heard the heroes had vanished, which lost him Allen to get back, but fate had brought up new heroes. He wanted to see if the new Flash had any skills at all before he left Central City to strike a deal with Lex up in Metropolis. "Come on Flash.... being very slow today." He had saved Barry Allen a few times but wanted to see if this new one was worth it. And as far as he knew he need both speeds in order to return home, anytime he attempted it himself he always ended up back where he was. What was worse was Gideon, an AI he had, could no longer show him the future. Folding his arms he leaned against an AC unit. "Kid I don't have all day."

Call it luck or call it some form of grace, but either way, he could paint himself surprised with the way that a bolt of fire appeared on some grass faster than the men in white sack masks could conjure. It was a lightning bolt, which obviously was a calling card. He could not care less truth be told, but what was the mystery of the trail that only led up to the roof? He would certainly have to find out, but that was hardly saying much. He was already gone the second he saw the the trail form.

"All day would mean I kept you waiting, hermano" he stated, his tone heavily accented to that of a Hispanic male but also filtered, right beside the figure just as the stranger finally arrived himself."Get to the point. Time is being wasted as you insisted."

He was warned about this figure. Was it some Thawne or this Zolomon? He didn't wear half a mask like Kid Flash, so it was obvious that from the papers he read and from what Iris told him this was a Zoom. Still, he wasn't on guard like he probably should have been. Perhaps he knew something the other did not or perhaps he just truthfully did not care. Still, he was watching with intent purpose under his mask, his eyes glowing a golden tint. Whatever move this other speedster made before him, Diego was more than capable of being ready. For now, should he play the oblivious speedster or should he just simply get right to the point? Nothing about him screamed scary after all.

>Eobard Thawn ~ Professor Zoom<

Eobard smiled as The Flash showed up. Sliding off the AC unit and walking around his new counter part. "Hispanic... interesting. Wearing an outfit similar to Barry's I see." He went back to standing before his counter part. "I'll make this quick as I have others to visit and trouble to cause." Giving another glance over to his counter part. "Professor Zoom. Reverse Flash for a spell but that title belongs to another. But I do want to test something. You specifically. See if you are worth my troubles." He moved to be standing beside the Flash. "We do it how Barry and I did it. A race, thousand laps around the school. You beat me, I may invest time in you. I win, well you do what Barry first did and improve." With a smirk he began to run the course he had set up in his mind.

That was it? Did he miss the big payoff somewhere or was this some kind of joke? Not only had this man called himself the exact person he was thinking about, but all he asked for was a race that was only a thousand laps?

"Hate to break it to you, Hermano" he stated to figure from the other side of the rooftop. The figure that was waiting at the A/C Unit was beginning to stagger a bit, like static, before dissipating with a bright yellow pop. "A thousand laps is below my average and you call yourself a professor?"

He stated it so smugly. No need to act like he wasn't better than that. Truth be told, he was, so of course he was expecting more. He had to figure for a guy who called himself Professor, there should have been some intelligence within that mind of his. Didn't his Speed Mind tell him that from this outcome, he was going to lose, horribly, in every situation? Maybe Iris was right. Maybe the blow to his brain from the altered Batman had really left him completely clueless to the situation before him. Maybe that was why it took him forever to finally come back. Eobard should put two and two together. What he had just done was well beyond that of doing just a thousand laps.

"That's too small, even for you" he retorted, before bringing his index finger up, creating a small soccer ball out of of the speed force itself before it cackled and went towards Eobard softly, rolling on the ground as it began to near his foot. "Fortunately for you, I like playing games. I'll give you this one thousand lap challenge, but just know when I win, you should take your own advice: Get to my level."

He motioned for Eobard to get the headstart, though technically, this was just an afterimage that had yet to fade away. Diego was already gone, evident bv the trail left behind.

>Eobard Thawn ~ Professor Zoom<

Eobard had to admit, the kid was certainly faster than Barry was. The kid was even a little faster than faster than him, which the challenge was nice as he ran. With his smirk of a grin he ran to catch up to the kid. "Your fast kid, I'll admit to that. But I always had a few tricks for Barry to fix." Pushing himself to gain what little lead he could he charge his hands. Snapping his finger he sent a shockwave towards the library of the school. Causing it to shake violently and glass to fly everywhere. Would the new Flash be fast enough to run the race and save all those people. With a quick turn he flicked his other hand, sending a few bolts of energy towards The Flash. If it hit the kid would either end up slowing down or lose the protective shield that protect Speedsters from bursting into flames. A risky move both of them were, but the race was purely set up for him to learn, learn the new Flash's limits so he could push the kid. Though if the Flash retaliated he would need so protection, doing so he made copies of himself, each one running at his pace and around him. Switching around between like the game of finding the red ball under the cup.

To say the least, he thought that the man should have suspected something was aloof with the Soccer Ball. Someone in their right mind would have to say the least, but he just took off running, trampling over it. That meant he clearly thought less of Diego, but that did not matter. By now, he would realize the error of his ways. He liked to play dirty? So did Diego and it all began the second he ran right past the construct that it stuck to him like a soft magnet, responding to his speed force the second he used it. Would he even be aware that it was going to undo him until it was too late? From the rate he tapped into his own energy reserves to make clones of himself. Child's play. It only took a few seconds for Diego himself to create a construct of solid energy of himself before it took off ahead while he merely phased himself out from the area itself to make it appear as if the construct was still giving chase.

Why had he done this? To make it seem like Eobard had won, but that was not the case. He would make it seem like he had gone to save the people at the library, though it was very clear that stray bolt of energy was not going to get far. Was it the library he was aiming for? A building made of solid concrete and wood like that would withstand such a blow. The Flash only save the bystanders that were outside of it in case it had hit them before moving onward. When the coast was clear, the surge hit the concrete wall with only a burn mark being left as an aftermath. Nothing too dangerous otherwise. By now this Zoom would realize that the "Flash" he hit was nothing more than a construct as well. When that occurred, Diego moved to the side as the construct faded from the attack, dodging it effectively as he continued the race.

Now he would go back to the bad boy of a trap he laid out the first time that Zoom seemingly ignored. When Zoom made for the massive clones to take off and try to lure him away, the soccer ball itself had finally dropped off from him. As the split was beginning to occur, the ball itself pulled them right back like a magnet, heading back towards the originator of the source itself: Professor Zoom. It was true that the Negative Speed Force could eat away at Positive Speed Force, but what happened when Diego put his mind to it to make a construct dedicated to absorbing said force in the form of one "harmless" ball? It was gold in form like the regular Speed Force, but it served to have a neutral purpose, only becoming charged by the Negative Energy the more and more times Eobard used it. By now, This Zoom was probably feeling the side effects of finding himself moving slow and of course the big boom that was now coming his way. Where was Diego? Watching atop a street light of course.

>Eobard Thawn ~ Professor Zoom<

Eobard noticed he began to slow. It wasn't natural and so something was draining his speed. As he thought back the soccer ball was the issue, the X factor in this. With a chuckle he slowed down to the ball caught up to him. Vibrating his hand to destroy the item he had to nod. "I admit kid... that was a good play on your part. He ran up back to the roof where they had started, he could still feel the drag from the drain but could feel himself charge up, slowly. Hopping back up to the top of the AC unit he looked at the kid. "I'll admit it, better than Barry, more clever than me. You are very good, can still be better." Chuckling and shaking his head a bit. "Eobard. Eobard Thawne is my name. Barry and his band of helpers named me Professor Zoom. Kinda like the name, tought about the Speed Force in my time." Smiling he hopped down from the unit. "Need to take my own advice. Need to speed and learn new tricks."

The library, the quietest and emptiest place in the University also favored by Luke, the boy who could be easily found sleeping with his arms crossed on top of a book, on a better analysis it was not even a book, a gaming magazine, Luke was tired, some could say that it was because of how late he stayed up last night playing Overwatch and League of Legends and some might even say he was too smart for the classes so he only bothered to appear at the ones he was obliged to have presence in, the ones with the annoying teacher that you would only appreciate after you've grown up. Low sounding snores could be heard coming fro them the young man resting his well developed mind, luckily not many people were at the Library that day, some were using the computers others using the books for what they were made for, knowledge, the commotion outside did not seem to bother none of the students especially since it was small until something hit the Library wall making it slightly shake, something felt by the students inside but nothing that would make them scatter in fear but as usual there was always that one student and this time it was Luke, since he was sleeping he was woken up abruptly by the small shake and that was the reason he woke up with wide eyes and scared into oblivion, for someone who was not prepared and sleeping it was like a strong earthquake had hit, almost falling from his chair Luke would hide under the table only to notice that the small group of student inside the Library were all staring at him like he had a watermelon on top of his head, Luke quickly became red, quickly throwing his phone behind him.
"Where did this thing go!? Ah there you are little guy!" Luke would say picking up his phone and hitting his head on the bottom of the table while getting up. "I'm fine and got my phone... No need to worry guys... Keep on reading shhhhhhhhhh." Look would say to the students still starring at him like he was a new specie of animal, most would turn away and start giggling to one another, not something Luke really minded, worse had happened in classes he was found sleeping in. Luke would once again sit and find his comfortable state.
"Back to my dream land I go."

Now this was certainly peculiar. This was a man known for killing, having gone through great lengths before from what he was told. He pulled back from his challenge clearly gone dirty, Diego knowing something like a thousand laps around this university definitely sounded suspicious. He played his own game right back, but ultimately this Professor Zoom now wanted to call it off?He was no Shakespearean theorist, but this just screamed bad news all over him if he let the thought of dropping his guard with a diabolical mad man was going to turn out well. Et tu, Brute? He kept it up when he reappeared back at the AC Unit. Was this dude just hot or something or was there an obsessive need to just cling around the unit.

"I could say the same about you" he stated in regards about someone needing to be better. Diego was like the Weeknd. He did not see the shade on him, but someone in yellow had the entire forecast complete with a chilly breeze under a shady tree. Still he admitted it himself that he needed to learn new "tricks." He gave a name, but Diego was not foolish to give his in return. The point is that right now, Diego knew he could take him out effectively without trying. Perhaps there was just a clear level of confidence on him or just a distinct lack of competence among one of them. It was not him, clearly. Point was, should he hear him out?

"Clearly, you didn't come to bore me with small talk, hombre. Vamonos. Whatya want?"

Clearly Eobard needed to gain his speed, so was he stalling? Did it matter at this point? Diego probably could subdue him if he were to take off at this point. It came down to the point that obviously Eobard was out of options after realizing his little "test" did not go so well. He folded his arms, awaiting for the figure before him to get on with the point.

Eobard hopped down and shook his head. "Or was it some kids from my time.... doesn't matter." Looking to his rival he smiled. "I propose a friendship of sorts. I scratch your back, you scratch mine." He walked over to the edge of the roof. "Now what's the benefit for you? Simple... I make it so you look good to the public. You help me in a few experiments of mine." He looked out at all the students and sirens. "Also a learning opportunity for both of us. Learn some my tricks, learn some of yours." He turned to look at Diego. "I'm insane, not stupid. I know when I can't beat someone straight up, but I know when I can learn." He looked back out and grinned. Feeling himself getting faster once more. "You're a smart kid clearly, what do you say?"

"You know, I've never really forgotten the time I gained these powers, of the carnage that had caused all this, and all that's occurred afterwards. It's quite mind boggling."

(Entrance)

When Alegar appeared in his classroom, the lights were completely off, as well as the blinds being pulled down. Not that he minded it, though, as he walked over to the whiteboard in the room. On the desk in front of it sat a book for the lesson with a page already marked, right where he left it after he had come here earlier that day to make sure nothing was moved in the room. Picking up the book, his eyes glowed a faint orange again as he set the other book down on his desk, soon opening the current one. 'Now then, the current lesson that's gonna be in the first class tomorrow should be on the founding fathers and their views, as well as how they decided on the laws of the country itself, so I'll need to explain the men themselves and how they viewed things in contrast to each other. However, there's also the people in Ancient history who will be starting on the Greco-Persian war later tomorrow as well, so I'll need to get something ready for them as well.' Alegar thought as he read through the marked page, a yellow highlight of where the class had left off sitting at the start of the chapter. 'It shouldn't be too hard to keep them interested in it, but the question is how to get them to remember it...'

He then sighed as he pulled out the chair behind the desk, sitting down as he went through the pages. He still had another forty minutes till the first class started, so he'd need to get his mind focused on the lesson at hand. However, his trail through the book was halted as he noticed something that shouldn't have been there in the first place.

"Sirens?" Alegar spoke to himself, closing his book as he got up from the desk. He soon moved over to one of the blinds, soon opening them to find students moving to look at the grass on the campus grounds that his own windows overlooked. From there, he saw something he didn't expect to see on the ground, A bolt of lightning burned into the grass itself. Alegar gaze kept their calm demeanor as he overlooked the grounds, moving his right hand to the lower left pocket inside his jacket to make sure his sword was still easily reachable. 'It's definitely something to look at, but not without understanding the incentive of it.' Alegar thought to himself, moving away from the window as he lifted his right hand, a black smoke forming into it as he looked back to the blinds, his mind slowly turning with his old mindset from the battlefield. 'Obviously it's one of the speedsters of the area if so many people are coming in as if not even seeing it, easily Thawne himself since he's been known for something like this. The question, however, is why he would do it now, or where he'd be waiting.'

His mind went through this as he looked around the surrounding areas, his gaze looking at the grounds around as he went through the potential answers. Then, his mind slowly came to a realization as he scanned the roofs of one of the buildings across from the college. 'Knowing his battles with the Flash, if it is Thawne, he would be doing this to normally call someone over. And, since he would be wanting to call them over, he'd choose a place that would be close enough to be noticed by the person he'd be aiming for...' Alegar thought, a small black orb forming in his right hand as his left moved over it, taking an oval shape as it slowly grew. 'It'd be possible for him to move to a nearby roof, which means I can't teleport onto any of them. However, that doesn't mean I can't observe...'

With that he set his concentration on the oval object in his hand, placing one command on it: be my eyes, and scan the area from the skies. Then, he looked back at the outside as his gaze rested on the tree a few yards to the right of his window, and with his own twisting of the darkness the shape vanished from his hands, appearing in one of the nearby branches. Alegar then smirked as he turned back to his desk and walked to his chair, sitting down as the oval cracked and broke open, a small form speeding out as it grew in size. 'In Norse mythology, the ravens Hugin and Munin flew around the world and brought it's tidings to Odin, who sat on his throne in Valhalla.' Alegar thought as he sat down, his gaze outside as a black falcon landed on the tree where the oval had been, it's eyes a dark red as he closed his own, connecting to the bird as he took control of it's body. 'You could say that I'm repeating that, though at a much smaller scale.'

With that the falcon flew up into the air, flying over the roof as it's gaze looked around, looking around as it had been ordered while Alegar leaned back in his chair, his sight now gone as it was connected to the bird, his body soon losing it's feeling as well as he focused on the bird. It looked like reading through the next lesson would have to wait.

"However, if I was given the chance to do it all over, with keen knowledge as to what would occur, I'd probably do it again in order to see history play out in front of me, to see humanity at both it's brightest and darkest moments all over again..."

A friendship? It was just easy like that? His guard instantly went back up if any of it was down in the first place. This just seemed a bit ridiculous and Diego was about to make sure he got it particularly right for this man of science who studied the Speed Force and traveled back into time to make the Flash the very best through insanely, but brilliant methodical means.

"So ese, you telling me that all you want to do is make me look good?" He was sorry to say, but he did not need him to do that because from what the stories were already being told, he was doing well for for years of being into his career. He was no rookie at this point. He was already looking good. "I don't know where you been these past few years, hombre, but I don't need you to make me look good. That's not much of an offer given you just burned city property, threw stray electric at innocent bystanders and possibly more crimes. That spells Jail time to me than an amigo, homes."

He was right. Diego was very smart, which is why the idea of them being friends could not work out. How could he turn a blind eye to this man's previous actions? Now that was a way to look bad in front of cameras, which is what was now coming their way because of Zoom's antics himself. The idea of keeping his enemy closer than his friend was honestly a correct way of thinking, but at the same time, Zoom made it entirely hard given what he just did. That and learning from someone who clearly was in over his head also made it difficult. The Flash knew Zoom was just running on fumes at this point. The real question was "What would he do about it?"

"A headstart" he stated. "No amigos, por favor, just a headstart to get to stepping in the opposite direction. You're not like you used to be it seems and I like a challenge. I might turn a blind eye or I might do Central a favor and chase after you and detain you. You don't know what might happens, so now the choice is yours."

What would The Flash do indeed? Capture a notorious criminal and throw him behind bars? Let him just run off? He learned from Bane, a notorious situation, about these things after all. Eobard was in a tough situation, one he could not predict or predetermine with false senses of securities.

>Eobard Thawn ~ Professor Zoom<

Eobard looked to the kid and shook his head. It was a questionable deal no doubt, but he always delivered. He could hear the helicopters, the sirens, all of it coming closer. "Can't say I blame you." He turned around to preplan a running path to escape with. "Enjoy the victory Flash. Next time... you won't be so lucky." With that being said he ran off. Going as fast as he could to get away from the scene he just created, he wouldn't fall for some trick either like that damn ball that slowed him a bit. It wasn't anything he couldn't recover from, but he had to improve and to learn a few new tricks. There was only a few people no could help him get faster, his experience alone wouldn't cut it. He needed an outsider help who could set him with a few bits of tech and a place to train. With only knowing one person of this time who could do he ran off to Metropolis.

-exit to Metropolis-

He could give chase. Would he, though? Most likely not, but he did still make it look like he did. He ran after Eobard, but only enough to make a clone. The chase would continue to portray that he gave chase, but the villain gave the "slip." That couldn't be far from the truth. The Flash just did not care right now. What he did care about was that now his watch was beeping. He needed to get back to the library. That was not a hassle for him.

As he ran, the suit began to peel off his body, retreating back into the watch itself. When The Flash arrived back on campus within plain sight of a small alley, one Diego Alvarez stood in his place. The male adjusted his bowtie and walked among the crowd as he slipped back into the library. Fortunately for him, class had yet to start there and of course, his roommate, Luke, was helplessly sleeping his woes away. He smirked a little as a thought came to mind upon nearing the sleeping male.

He hummed lightly to himself, reaching inside the messenger bag he carried. Comfty headsets were revealed, Skullcandy to be exact. He vibrated his hands lightly so that he could get the object itself to also phase and with careful precision, brought along with the fact that temporarily also used his speed to place them on the male's ear, Luke was never the wiser to what was about to occur. He reached out to his music player, selecting one of Nicki Minaj's tune, that of Hoe that was Stupid. He turned it down, but thenn began to raise the volume as the song eased into Luke's ears. With his other hand, he pulled out his phone, readying the recorder.
