Cooling days and stormy nights usher in the fall season, bringing everyone together to celebrate this spooktacular time of year! The celebration of Halloween is marked by delicious scents, bold colors, copious amounts of sugar, and tales of a gourd-ly spirit who watches over the hauntings of the season.

The time has come around once again to wait out the night in your favorite pumpkin patch; it's the Great Pumpkin, Wishful Thinking!


Here's the deal~

¤ You may submit one letter, but it doesn't have to be for yourself~
¤ No lists. Please specify one Halloween species in your letter!
¤ Don't submit a custom form with a 'Dear Great Pumpkin!' in front of it!
¤ Letters are chosen and interpreted at the discretion of participating staff.

Greetings again, Great Pumpkin!

I have been in distant lands, tortured with the banality of "school" and have been sorely missing my wishful friends; as well as my darling Dovykins, so I hope my greatly belated letter finds you and the lovely Miss Jacquie well!

As always, I am writing you a quick note to catch you up on the gossip! As per usual, I am very busy coloring and sending out bundles of spooky cheer this ghoulish season... and I fear my halloweenie friends might be feeling a bit neglected. My [admittedly, rather vain] zombie is never around, I think he is planning an apocalypse of some sort... my Dova likely would approve. And my sweet little vampire is still off causing trouble with her beau.

In the spirit of the season, I was hoping you might consider encouraging a ...slightly more loyal companion to join me. I know the moon rules them first, but I imagine a werewolf would be a vast improvement over a vain zombie and a lovestruck vampire! A rough and tumble creature with brilliant eyes who hides in the shadows with his mixed stripes and spots would be delightful! Perhaps he would keep my feet warm while I color and when I take breaks, well, we could play and spook people all Halloween long <3 I wouldn't even complain about excessive howling... at least not until next year!

Season greetings Great Pumpkin!

I hope you are doing well this year, it's been so long since I've written to you. All my lovely wishes have been getting along fairly well with each other, aside from the occasional argument. Sadly, they have no spooky companions to teach them how they should behave during this season of ghoulish fun.

I think perhaps the perfect tutor for them would be one of a vampiric nature, one who has gained the patience that comes with living for many centuries. He needs to be confident too if he is to gain their respect, some of my lovelies can be fairly cocky themselves. What comes to mind when you think of a vampire? For me it's piercing, icy eyes that can peer straight into your soul. Black and red are of course classic colors associated with these creatures but his eyes are so intense in my mind that I can't even imagine the rest of him.

Ahaha, I think I've rambled on too long here. I hope to see you haunting the kiddies and giving them a good scare this year!

Valued Great Pumpkin,

You understand the spirit of this season better than anyone. There are certain requirements that can be quite demanding at this time of year. I enjoy the cooling temperatures and all the fall colors. I wish I had friends to go trick-or-treating with this year; haven’t gone since I moved to Cali. If you’re hosting a Halloween party, I hope I’m not being presumptuous, I would love to attend. I don’t have any plans for this Halloween yet.

Being as it would be a Halloween party, I’d need a costume. Thinking I’d fancy being a werewolf this year. If I had to design my own costume, I think I’d want something scary. It would have blood dripping from fangs and glowing eyes so you know that something is watching you from the dark. I’m sure a couple of my co-workers might come. One should dress up as a ghost and another as a zombie. It would be a good night had by all, I’m sure.

Oh Great Pumpkin!

You've been missed so much!

I've been having a wonderful year, starting it off right and tying the knot with the love of my life. Luck has been on my side this year, so it doesn't feel right to ask you for anything. I already have two Halloween wishes, and I can't ask anymore.

This year, I don't ask for myself, but for my friend ramenli. May you please bless her with a Wish of her own? She currently has no Wishes, but I hope that changes soon. Ramenli has a great love of vampires and sharp teeth, like her two kitties.

We've been good buddies for years now, and we've actually hung out together two times in real life! We're both huge fans of Disney and make trips to Disneyland! We talk almost daily.

Sometimes when we talk, we can get a bit distracted, like our heads are in the stars. Gladly we're not galaxies apart. I do miss spending time with her, but at least we share the same night sky!

Dear Great Pumpkin,

I know you've likely missed me greatly, as absent as I have been in recent years. I have been prisoner in the distant lands, my captors being first this entity called "military" and the next called "school". Seems I traded one oppressor for another!

But I digress. Even with the oppression I have found time to return to you, and with luck here I shall stay.

I sure would love some additional company though, to lift my spirits! I have a great love of canines - perhaps a werewolf would do! I know how the moon rules them, so perhaps one inspired by the beauty of the moon and the night sky, filled with stars? Or perhaps with inspiration drawn from the furthest reaches of space and inspired by the colorful nebulas found there?

I've always enjoyed the stars, giving me hope.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, and fall my favorite time of year. I hope you enjoy your time and may your Halloween be filled with pumpkin things and candy!

OH GREAT PUMPKIN!

So I've sorely missed you the last few years and I feel as though we need to catch up. Right now, I identify mostly with a zombie (or mombie as the case may be).

See the thing I wished for many years finally came to pass. Forgive me for being a sap, great pumpkin (but you're a gourd so it's only far!) but my wish was Melanie. She's what they call, my rainbow.

Our little monster has a great job prospective as a Scare Major at her mother's Alma Matter of Monster's University (M U RULES!)

But yeah, I always digress writing letters so...I like butterflies and bats. I like lights in the dark. I like hope at the end of a tunnel of despair. And I guess I'm saying that though a Wish is great, she is my dream come true--the rainbow at the end of the storm.

And just like you, dear pumpkin, we've made it through the hard times and we get to enjoy the wishes that we've made.

I have been around for many years, But I have had a great longing for a gory Zombie.
My current Vampire and Werewolf can be a lot to handle at times.

Dearest Great Pumpkin,

I have been away for far too long, it would seem. Work has stolen most of my attention and various other projects seem to have stolen the rest. However, I have made time for you, by dearest friend!

I may have had a wish at some time and place, but I am no longer sure - they may have wandered off somewhere. If not, I'm sure I could find a great deal of companionship in a cute little ghost. They can accompany me about my house, which may or may not be haunted.

I am very happy, (though I apologize for imbibing your relatives) that the pumpkin spice apocalypse is upon us. Just today, I had a delightful pumpkin spice coffee and a loaf cake as well!

I would share it with you if I could, but that might be cannibalism.

My Dear Great Pumpkin,

It has been years since I last sent you a letter. Richter has been doing well, if a little shy at times, in his own way. I am out of high school now, but find college doesn't hold something that would interest me. So I've mostly been playing video games, like Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, and DDR while I job hunt.

Do you think that The World Ends With you will ever get a sequel? I hope so, I love the little Noise that act as ghosts of erased players. The Graffiti style they adopt and vibrant coloring are so eye catching, not to mention the names based off of music. And its characters had a bit of a cameo in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.

About Kingdom Hearts, I must admit the one I've been playing is KHUX, (the mobile game) with the little dream eaters called Chirithy. They tend to carry a brightly colored coin purse around their necks and - oh wait, I'm getting off track, aren't I?

In any case, I've been playing a lot of brightly colored games lately, full of fanciful music (Like TWEWY's main theme, Twister, what is even up with those lyrics), have you? Are there any video games that you like to play? Have you a player two to game with in Co-op games? I hope so, a player-two is a great thing to have.

it's been a while. my werewolf is quite lonely being my only haunted wish. if only Kalu had another friend, maybe things would get better.

a vampire would be cool i believe, that way it can be like another Twilight scenario with my wishes. I don't care how he/she looks, nor their personality.
