Azreal hugged Moana closer to his chest as he walked over to the booth. He quickly began to play once Nika was at his side, and he was surprised to see that he won something called an everstone. If he remembered correctly, and everstone was something that was used to prevent a pokemon form evolving. Interesting. Once given the stone, he tensed and froze as she asked if something happened to his family. He glared at the wall in front of him, rather annoyed at the question. He couldn't answer, no if he did his family would pay the price for his treachery. He sighed, running a hand through his hair and gritted his teeth. He had to say something, but when she stated that her mother died, he looked at her surprised. Her mother had died, at least his was still alive... for now. His eyes softened a tad bit, but he was still a bit guarded. He shoved his hands into his pocket and looked at the sky as she stated that she didn't know. That she thought that whatever made the world good or bad was the people, and that there was at least two good people in it. Her words stung him, but he kept his mask on. He kept it on and refused to break it.
How could she possibly know that he was a good person, he was certainly not. He was anything but good, it killed him when she stated that he was a good person. He was for once glad that his clenched fists were hidden in his pockets. He swallowed a bit and nodded "I guess..." he muttered rather awkwardly. Great now he felt guilty. He listened softly as she stated that her father and his family were good too. If only that were true. It was then that they focused on the game, and Azreal tried to forget what Nika said. He looked over once he was finished and watched her play a bit. He turned to her as she stated that she always wanted to play a game like this. He tilted his head to the side "never played anything like this?" he questioned. He used to play games like this all the time before THAT happened. His attention was taken away when Nika finished her turn. He noticed she scored three points and he scored five "looks like I scored more points so I win, but it was close" he said, shrugging a bit.

"Yeah. There was an arcade in Veilstone but I didn't go much. Only time we ever visited the city was for classes, so it's not like I had much free time." Nika allowed herself to focus on the game (or more like she was sucked into it). Her vision narrowed to just the small holes in the game. She kept readjusting her grip on the little mallet. Calo leaned in on her shoulder, surprisingly still as she played. When a diglett sprang up, she snapped out with her arm, but her enthusiasm had her hitting the round head at a bad angle and it wasn't enough to count as a hit. She tried to focus a bit better, and by the end managed to get three hits.
Nika huffed, not exactly happy with her score. But it sounded like Azreal had practice with games like this, so she could chalk it up to experience. "You're pretty good at this stuff." Nika's elbow shifted and she scratched her nose. She'd been about to try flicking him on the nose; she was surprised she'd been about to do it unconsciously. The attendant at the booth handed over Nika's prize, a fluffy swablu plush. "Hey Calo, looks like you have some competition." Nika held it up, laughing when he suddenly lashed out. He snapped his beak down on the two feathers sticking from its head. "Hey. No." Nika pushed a finger into his belly and his beak dropped open. "Don't do that." Despite her tone of voice, she was using one hand to scratch his belly. She tucked the swablu between her arm and waist and put that hand back in her pocket.
"Somehow I imagined getting a pokemon would be easier than this." It was suddenly dawning on her just what a long way she had to go. "Do you have any experience with pokemon, Az?" She eyes Moana, the togepi that definitely didn't like her one bit.

Azreal moved his eyes over towards her as she stated that there was an arcade in veilstone city, where ever that was. He had heard about arcades, but he himself had never been to one. Back home they usually spent most of their time outside running around the shore or exploring the different islands that were around the region. His eyes saddened a bit, the region he came from hadn't been touched by Arcana yet, or at least he hoped it hadn't. After all they were relatively unknown to most people, and only recently did their location pop up. However, with all the chaos happening everywhere else no one really bothered to check if the new place was like. He really missed his home, and he missed his family. If only he could go back in time and tell his family not to leave the safety of their island. If only he had been braver and thought more carefully about everything.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when she stated that he was pretty good at this sort of thing, again he gave another shrug. He supposed that having a cave full of Digglet did help him when he was whacking them for digging in areas that they weren't supposed to. Curiously, he watched as Nika then presented her plush to the bird pokemon only to have said pokemon attack the poor stuffed one. He cringed as Calo aimed for the small feathers that were sticking out of it's head. If that had been a real pokemon, that would have been pretty bad. He smiled a bit, watching as Nika scolded her own partner saying that he wasn't supposed to do stuff like that. It was a bit comical in a way. He blinked and snapped his head down when he felt something kicking at him. Frowning, he noticed how the small egg pokemon was trying to get a bit of Nika's short hair and yank it. He stepped back, shaking his head "hey that's not nice, you can't go around pulling peoples hair- hey!" he yelped as Moana turned her attention towards him and yanked his own hair as a result. He scowled, "what did I just say?" he asked irritated.
Moana gave him that innocent look as if saying that she 'didn't know any better'. He groaned "look don't do that again alright" he said, running a hand through his hair. When Nika mentioned that she imagined getting a pokemon would be easier than this Azreal had to agree to a certain extent. Sure baby pokemon were out of control, but these two seemed to take that to another level. His parents pokemon, as well as his sisters pokemon didn't act this crazy when they were smaller. He pursed his lips as she asked his he had any experience with pokemon. His eyes turned sad "I guess that... you could say I knew a few, they weren't mine of course but... they were my family, you?" he asked, looking down at the ground.

Lex had sulked for aproximately ten more minutes, stewing and glowering about the stupid teacher, and the stupid gendered uniforms, and the stupid team that was the entire stupid reason they were stuck here. They could see at a distance two other kids talking as they played. In another time Lex might have approached them, but not now. If they wanted to talk to me, they would have approached me anyways, the teenager thought a bit miffed. Oh yeah, they were off to a great start making friends. So far everyone had either ignored them or been a dingus. With a sigh, Lex picked up their things, and took a look at the pokeball that they had been given. Pressing down on the button to enlarge it, Lex released the pokemon within, a small smile coming to their face when they noted what pokemon it was. A friend of their brother's had had a cyndaquil. She was a fire specialist actually and Lex had always looked up to her. They wondered just where the Dancing Flame was in this world. Before their thoughts could travel anywhere dark, Lex knelt down, offering their hand to the mouse pokemon. The cyndaquil sniffed it before nosing into Lex's palm. "How bout Frisk?" Lex asked it, thinking of a character that had been just like them, of a game where friendship won over hate. The cyndaquil gave a squeak that Lex took as an affirmative. Letting the mouse pokemon climb on their shoulder, they made their way to their dorm Their stupid gendered dorm Right, none of that now, moving on.
