Current Location: King's Road, away from Maeven.

Wilhelm stared at Sevira, not speaking. Slowly, he sheathed his sword without breaking eye contact with the woman. He placed one of his hands on her shoulder, shaking his head. "I'm sorry you've had a rough time. But there was a lot of paperwork that had to be done, it seems that with all the excitement yesterday we had both neglected to take care of it." He paused, smirking slightly at the disgruntled look on her face. "Right now, I am not your superior officer. You were given a mission and I am the escort, technically you're in charge. But don't hit me again unless I actually deserve it."

Stepped away, he surveyed the damage once more. "So what in the hell happened here? This isn't your stallion, whom does it belong to? And where is the corpse of the enemy?" His war face was on once more, eyebrows drawn together in a dark scowl. He resisted the urge to scratch his face, having forgotten to shave before leaving that morning resulting in a shadow of facial hair beginning to take root. "Not even gone half a day and already drawing the attention of ne'er–do–wells. Ridiculous quest..."

Sevira let out a sigh of relief. She was thankful he had shown up and didn't abandon her like she thought he had. When he asked what happened in the field, she let out a long sigh. "We encountered a demon, a very strong opponent. He attacked us without warning with an energy blast but we managed to evade it. We went to attack, but I knew the younger lot would need protecting. I got them across the river and Alieth and her apprentice dealt with him. As for what happened during that fight, I can only guess from what we see here. And there is no corpse...he was injured, yes, but it's likely we will encounter him again soon," she admitted.

She quickly led Wilhelm, and his steed, across the river to where Olrun was waiting. She mounted her horse and flicked the strands of raven hair out of her face. "The others are waiting by the Willow tree, we best not keep them waiting," she stated as she took off towards where her other comrades were waiting.

Amira and the others had been quickly pushed off to a new location, one which Alfen seemed most familiar with since he had likely travelled past it not long ago. He led the way and Amira kept looking to Alieth. Would the half-demon want her healing skills administered to the wound she received from the attacker? True, it wasn't deep, but it could be poisoned and infection was a serious risk. Regardless of her actual background, to those who did not know she was just an Elven Healer.

She was eager to keep her identity a secret from the others. Not because she thought it was a dire secret to keep (although, in truth, it was) but because she didn't want their view of her changing. They treated her like a commoner, unlike the three that knew. Sevira, Wilhelm, and Maliarc all treated her slightly differently because they knew what she meant to Goleta. The others saw her as a girl on the road, which was a nice change from being treated like a princess. She liked being a commoner, but she didn't like needing to be saved at every turn.

Ezra watched the boy conjure his illusion and he let a smile come to his lips. Out of instinct and against his knowledge, his eyes shifted to their werewolf state and it allowed him to see through the illusion in a way; the visual becoming hazy. This was more so a test to see if he was immune to the spell casting. His eyes shifted to the normal colour and he looked to the boy. He was a promising youth, that he was. Most likely one of the gypsies judging by his skill set and his appearance.

"This nation gets stranger and stranger by the moment," he chuckled to himself. As he spoke, he could hear the sound of horses galloping closer. His lycan hearing allowed him to have a much higher sense of hearing, thus allowing him a perfect ability of stealth. He wondered if he should hide, and even though he didn't want to, this boy seemed very interested in his illusion so he hid himself behind the base of the tree.

aleith x elemaris

THE WARRIOR OF RED AND BLACK

___There was a feeling of relief in Aleith's chest, seeing that the rest of the party was okay. She was of course happy that they had gotten out of the way when the attacker approached them. The weak ones need to be as far from the battle as possible. But she would have been gutted had they gotten killed by something else. Especially if she hadn't been there to protect them. They were still those of innocent blood, as far as she knew.
___Aleith glanced over her shoulder to scan the forest behind her for any sign of movement. No flame, no footsteps, no stupid grin. She liked it that way. When she was sure it was safe, she made her way to the shallow end. Veronica and her both made it across to the other side with ease. Surprisingly, the black mare Aleith had been riding before tagged along with it's herd. Even through the forest and across the river. She approached it's side, giving the horse a good pat on the neck to show her appreciation.
___Sevira made the decision to move on ahead a little while longer before taking a rest. Good idea, considering the demon wasn't far from where they were. He could still find them without any trouble at all. "Let us leave now then." she agreed. She was getting ready to remount her horse when there was a small squeak of a voice coming from behind her. She turned, her eyes to see the small elven woman looking at her with great concern. Her eyes were so gentle towards her, Aleith wasn't used to it... This woman had such grace about her. Even the way she sat atop her horse was beautiful. Her fiery red hair spilled down her back and her dress complimented her figure and skin. The horses were even calm in her presence.
___... What had she said? Heal her? Infection? Aleith glanced down at her arm. There was a dark discoloration in the thick leather of her armor. It must had been caused from what blood had come from her wound. Despite it not being severe, all the movement and rush of adrenaline must have really made it bleed. Her amber eyes turned back to elf, pupils narrowing like cat eyes. She stared at her until her heart began to twist and burn with pain. Clearing her throat, she turned away when she could take no more. "I'm... fine, thank you." Aleith grunted to her, turning away to mount up onto her horse. She didn't want to sound so mean or distant, but it was necessary. Aleith looked back to Veronica, motioning her to join her on the back of her horse.
___Once she was also mounted, Aleith clicked her tongue. It encouraged the horse to move forward and follow the group. They hadn't even gotten a few feet before there was yelling in the distant. A familiar voice and rash energy she had met the other day. Aleith's muscles tensed, watching Sevira dismount. She insisted the group move ahead before immediately taking off. All to just take care of, what Aleith could only really assume was, Wilhelm. Even so, Aleith nodded to her and continued on with the group. All the while keeping a keen eye for a willow tree along the river.
___She trotted up alongside the elf as she made her way to the front of the pack, glancing over to the woman with softer eyes. But not for long. "Forgive me, milady, for my rough tone." she spoke, without looking at her. "You remind me of my mother."
___There was a slight pause before she spoke again. "If it makes you feel better, you may heal my wound. First we must reach the willow tree though." Without another word she moved on ahead, flicking the reins to make her horse speed up. It wouldn't be long after that they would approach was a sad looking tree. It's dark green leaves danced in the soft breeze of the morning.
___Past the tree, however, was... Maeven? Just as they had left not an hour ago. It's white walls were too obvious to not notice and know that it was in fact Maeven! "What is this?..." Aleith whispered to herself, pulling on the reigns of her horse to slow down. She looked back to the group then back to Veronica, feeling her anger begin to boil up once more. She could sense the two beings who were lingering nearby. And although they didn't seem hostile, they were likely the culprits of whatever was going on. She didn't fall for such petty tricks so easily.
___"Veronica, search the area." she commanded, turning to look back at the rest of the party once more. "If any of you are magic users, see if you can perceive any here now." Aleith didn't like games or tricks. She placed a weary hand on the hilt of her mace, ready to draw it the moment she needed it. She wasn't crazy, they hadn't gone the wrong way. And they would still wait for Sevira and, hopefully, Wilhelm.

Veronica had chosen to remain quiet after escaping from the crazed assassin. Not much talking was really needed, as they were to continue on with their plan. Though her horse was dead and gone, they were maintaining a pace she could easily keep, and if need be, she could likely share a horse with someone.

She listened intently to the conversation between Aleith and the elven woman, even being surprised by her masters actions. They had never spoken about family much more than the acknowledgment that they had at one time had one. To hear that the elven woman reminded her of her mother was slightly shocking to her, but she was glad her master made the correct decision to reach their destination before receiving healing.

Past the tree, an interesting sight awaited them. Maeven? Veronica let out a snicker, hardly surprised something like this would happen after finding an assassin. She nodded when told the scout the area, and the spear in her hands disappeared, making way for a large scythe. She disappeared in a direction diagonal of the group, further into the forest, but not so close to "Maeven", and put the scythes blade around a tree. Pulling back, she put her muscle into it and brought the tree crashing down. If someone was hiding, this was the best way to draw them out.

On to the next one.

What a trip! They weren't gone a day and already things were becoming heated. Someone who was apparently some sort of "bad guy", as he liked to categorize them, blocked their way, though the group made the strange decision to avoid combat and find a way around him. Maliarc didn't care much for this course, more worried was he about the assassin coming back at them from behind. But he was not in charge, so he silently obeyed whatever Sevira decided.

He remained quiet, choosing instead to focus on listening to the battle in the distance, though it didn't last long. The two warriors quickly re-joined them and they continued their journey, only to be stopped once again a short while later, though this time for a different reason. Maeven, the very city they had definitely left behind appeared before them. He couldn't deny his amusement, but it was slightly frustrating as well. Half a day and already things were going sour.

When the demon woman called out to magic users, Maliarc lifted his hands up. "Unfortunately, I'm useless when it comes to illusions."

Alfen looked around and thought of what to do. If it was illusory magic, as Maliarc had said, he had no experience with it. He didn't even know if there was a spell to see through it. What would he do? He didn't want to seem like a complete fool. "Whoever is conjuring it must be close," he admitted. He guessed Alieth and Veronica already knew that though. He stood around, shuffling his feet, wondering what he could do. If there was anything he could do about this situation. There was no reason to go back to Maeven, they weren't off course. But, what was going on?

Jaelle chuckled and flicked her hair to the side. She wondered if she should tell them she not only knew a counter spell, but who was casting it. How foolish was this boy? "Jesha, you're going to get cut down if you don't knock it off," she laughed. "I do admit though, this is your best illusion yet. Keep practicing and I might not notice it wasn't Maeven straight away," she scoffed and looked to the tree to her left. While she knew one of her comrades was hiding, there was another presence she was unfamiliar with. Yet, if Jesha hadn't tied him up with his ropes and acrobatics, he wasn't a threat. But with the man they just nearly faced, she was unsure of newcomers. What could this man, and she could tell it was a male, be there for?

-----
User Image

Eli only used his heightened sense of smell to know there were two newcomers nearby, but he couldn't tell exactly where they were. He was, however, surprised when Jaelle seemed to know who was casting it. Another gypsy? He was unsure. It could be anyone. What if it was that assassin again? He didn't want to know, to be honest.

Sevira and Wilhelm rode side by side to the willow tree where everyone was waiting. She raised a brow when she saw Maeven ahead of them. She knew that it would not be there, having trained by this river for many months. This was magic of some sort, she knew it. But, who was casting it and why? She arrived just in time to hear Jaelle call out to someone in the trees. Someone she knew, possibly another member of the Band of Gypsies? What would another gypsy be doing so far from the others?

"May I ask what is going on? We have no time for delays," she barked out. She was surely not wanting to stop for such a long period of time. They needed to get a move on and quick. The assassin who attacked could still come after them if they didn't gain distance while he was preoccupied with healing his injuries.

Amira let out a smile at the connection between herself and Alieth's mother. She wondered what class rank her mother had. Was her mother a noble elf? If she was, maybe she had met the woman at some point. Or was she dead already? She remained silent and waited until they stopped at the marker to slide off her horse's back. The illusion was the least of her concerns, as she still had to heal Alieth's arm to prevent infection.

"I'll be as quick and gentle as I can, milady," she sweetly replied and clapsed her hands together as if in a prayer. She spoke a short spell in Elven tongue and placed her hands over the wound, hands glowing in a soft, golden light. Once the light around her hands faded, the wound was gone. Amira smiled and took a step back. "There, all done!" she exclaimed.

The swing of the scythe was too damn close for Ezra's tastes. However, he had a cover to uphold and if he evaded in an assassin-like manner he would blow his cover. Still, he didn't want this human to find him. He wondered if he should shift into a wolf form or remain in his human form. He decided, in the end, to play it safe and act human. If these people couldn't tell he was a werewolf, the better. He knew if they suspected something of him, he could always use his race to deter them from pressing into his occupation and past. The less they knew, the better.

He looked up into the tree to see if the boy would expose himself and dispel the illusion. It wasn't his show and he wanted to see how it played out. He would wait and see. Let's see who is here. Two knights, likely from Maeven, both who possess minor magical abilities. Strong in the physical sense, not much of a threat unless provoked. An Elven lass, not much threat at all. Most likely defended by the others. At least two gypsies, both of which seem to know one another. If he referred to the other by name, they have a connection....friends perhaps? The human beside the...I'm guessing half-demon...are strong warriors that could cause a problem if a fight broke out. The two mages off to the side aren't ones to underestimate either, as they are ones that are hard to determine the strength and abilities of from here, he thought to himself and pressed his lips into a flat line. What now?

The Fool
19 - Gypsies - Human from Fashrade

Mother 3 - "Mr. Saturn"

Company: Mr Nice Man, Mr Goat, Jaelle, Mrs Horny Mean Lady, Mr Old Mage-y Man, two other pretty ladies, Mr Knighty Man and Mrs Knighty Lady, and another young man
Mood/Thoughts: Yay, my bestest buddy! And her friends! More fun!
Location: On top of the willow, in the illusion
Summary of Actions: Refusing to let the mean lady ruin his fun
--------------------------------------------------------------

Jesha struggled to avoid bouncing in his hiding spot with an excited giggle when he heard the confusion of the group. However, his excitement quickly faded when some of the group called out in angry frustration. Nearly letting out a nervous squeak at the sound of a felling tree nearby, he glanced around sheepishly, taking great care not to move his head and jingle the small bells on his cap. Hearing his friend Jaelle call him out on this mischief, Jesha gave a pout and crossed his arms, causing his sleeves to give out a slight jingle. He stayed silent for a bit before finally whining out from his perch above in the tree, "Buuuut Jaaaaelle I'm boooooored! Can't I just have some fun with you and your friends for a bit before we get going?" He likely wouldn't dispel his little illusion until he had his fun, or someone promised they'd play with him later. He was such a child sometimes. Yes, he was coming with them whether they wanted him or not, and maybe the nice man would join them too. He had to watch out for his best friend, after all, Elders' orders!

Abilities:
Acrobatics - A self-taught acrobat, Jesha excels at springing from one place to another through all manner of strange maneuvers be it cartwheels, leaps, or even walking on walls. Also being rather small and quite extraordinarily flexible, he can squeeze himself through tight spaces most would have trouble just fitting their shoulders into.

Fool's Conjuration - Being an entertainer of sorts, Jesha knows some little parlor tricks to amaze his audiences. His most common one is to flick out his hands to create bursts of silvery sparks into the air, raining down like confetti. The other involves creating harmless duplicates of himself that can interact with the world, but may do no harm. Both have very little strain on Jesha, but repeated daily use takes its toll on his energy and requires a day's rest after using them in total of 4 times.

Illusory Magic - Jesha, having felt the need to make his acts more amazing, has taken to learning magic that can alter the perceptions of those around him. Although them may feel very real, everything that happens is akin to a dream and no real danger is present in them. However, using these illusions can be quite draining on Jesha, so he only uses them once per day.

After her first tree fell, Veronica stayed quiet and listened, hoping the one responsible would give herself or himself away. In a stroke of pure luck, one of her companions knew who was creating the illusion. When she turned around, she was looking to her left, meaning the person creating the illusion was towards her left. To further her own luck, the one responsible then spoke out, giving Veronica an even better idea of where he/she was hiding.

She still didn't know exactly where the person was, but knowing the general direction was enough. She hoisted the scythe up and let it rest on her shoulders and with her free hand made a throwing knife appear. She promptly let the knife loose in the direction she had heard the voice from, and then began her advance.

Now knowing the general direction to go, she fell another tree, not caring of the consequences. "It's your choice. Hurry the hell up and get out of our way, or we can kill you, and the assassin who may or may not be on our tail, and continue on our journey."

Alfen heard the second tree fall and the knife go flying. How was this going to solve anything? Veronica was not a good person to have around right now. Willing to kill an innocent person so far. If Jaelle knew them, they were a gypsy. Not a threat. What was the warrior thinking?! "This is no way to try and dispel this! Don't kill them!" he wailed. Why would Veronica be happy to kill someone she didn't even know was a threat or not? He prayed to the Twelve Gods for a moment everything would turn out fine in the end.

-----

Jaelle knew that Jesha wouldn't stop his game until he got his way, but she also knew that Veronica was a worry. She seemed pretty happy nearly killing him. It wasn't something she wanted to have happen to one of her own, regardless of how new he was amongst the others in the Band of Gypsies. "Jesha, I promise I will play with you later. But for now you have to come down and stop this, or I won't play with you ever again," she said. It sounded like a threat, but she was mostly worried about his safety. His child like nature could be the death of him.

Eli remained silent the whole time. He did not like how Alieth's apprentice was acting. Such actions could get them all killed if it was a formidable opponent (like the one they faced before) got mad. He certainly didn't want to be running for his life right now. He couldn't help but agree with Alfen on this matter. "Now is not the time for violence," he pleaded. Even though he tried reasoning with Veronica, she seemed too stubborn to listen.

Sevira was fine with the situation when it was only words. The instant that Veronica went cutting down trees, she let a frown cross her face. She glanced at Alieth from across the way, hoping the warrior would call back her apprentice. If things continued to get out of hand, it could spell disaster for them all. They needed to get a move on, if they stayed put then the person after them would return. She didn't want to risk the younger ones being hurt because of her inability to take action.

"We don't have time for this, we need to continue on the road. So if everyone, and I mean everyone, could just calm down and settle this matter, we can move on," she ordered. Her aggressive tone on the second everyone was more directed at Veronica. It was her more subtle way of telling her that if she didn't behave she would be dealt with. She didn't want to do so, but she wasn't going to let someone be hurt if they were innocent.

Amira was scared that something was about to happen and remained on the side. If this person, a boy from the sounds of it, was someone that Jaelle knew than he was likely one of her brotherhood of gypsies and not a threat. "We don't need to kill him, surely. He may be of use to us in the future. If he is able to conjure such illusions, he could surely throw enemies off our trail if we were being followed. Maybe just let him come down and talk?" she squeaked.

She was just trying to diffuse a situation spiralling out of control. She didn't want to involve herself in the middle of things, but she knew if she stayed silent it would do no good. Better to add to the numerous voices against the violence of Veronica's actions than to sit in silence. She just hoped she wouldn't be struck.

The knife went high and nearly hit the boy, but luckily it missed. Ezra moved his eyes to the girl walking close and narrowed them. If she was to attack the boy, he would intervene with every ounce of strength and kick her far back. He would not tolerate such acts of barbaric violence against an innocent. As long as he was standing, he would not let such things pass. It was one of the many iron-clad rules of the Order of Assassins. However, he also knew that if he attacked he would blow his cover. It was a dilemma weighing heavily on him. Attack and protect an innocent or let him be injured to keep his cover.

If she attacks him directly, I end the fight here and now. Regardless of what happens, this is something that cannot be ignored, he thought to himself as he retracted his claws in his hands in preparation.

aleith x elemaris

THE WARRIOR OF RED AND BLACK

___The illusion stayed, even as the group began to grow restless. Both the old and young man had nothing to dispel this kind of magic, but the gypsy girl seemed to know who the culprit was. She called out to him as Veronica took down the first tree. His voice rang out clear as day from the top one of the willow trees. Aleith made a guttural growl, baring her fangs in the direction the voice was coming from. It didn't seem that he wanted to give up the game just yet, but it didn't mean they weren't going to at least try and make him stop.
___Aleith had hardly even noticed Amira approach her side. Even flinching when she felt her small hands fall onto her arm and over the cut in her armor. She looked down at her, flexing her bicep as she felt the wound begin to mend itself with the magic Amira pushed into it. Aleith would whisper a small "Thank you..." to her before turning back to the situation at hand.
___The flurry of voices and screams brought back memories of war and pillaging to Aleith. An entire army, riding atop their mounts. Hunting down an evil creature that was terrorizing the land or a malicious king of a corrupt kingdom. Just to slay them like the scum of the world they were. People begging for them to stop, but others encouraging them on. To end the suffering or fear. Or to cause it. Out of instinct she pulled her mace from her belt and readied it at her side. The feeling was euphoric, especially with such a weapon in her hand. One that had taken many lives since the day it was forged. It was practically begging for more blood fed on...
___Aleith could feel herself wanting to grin but she refused to let it show. Somehow she was able to keep the stern look on her face, turning to Sevira who insisted they all calm down. "If you wish for us to continue moving then we need to deal with the problem, Dame Sevira." she barked at her, perhaps in almost a too aggressive of tone. "Unless you wish for us to continue playing this mutt's stupid game."
___Despite how she truly felt, she was not the leader of this group. Aleith whipped her head back around to Veronica. "Veronica, return to me. If he doesn't comply we are cutting him down." Her voice was rough and even scary. The serious tone of someone fed up more than all them combined.

Mother 3 - "Mr. Saturn"
Mother Soundtrack - "Bein' Friends" Vocal Cover by Catherine Warwick

Company: Mr Nice Man, Mr Goat, Jaelle, Mrs Horny Mean Lady, Mr Old Mage-y Man, Big Meany Veronica, Mr Knighty Man and Nice Miss Sevira, and another young man
Mood/Thoughts: Panic and shock about someone actively trying to kill him, and sadness about Jaelle being angry with him, with buried emotions rising up
Location: Still hiding in a willow tree
Summary of Actions: Dispelled illusion, but refusing to come down just yet, trying not to cry in front of everyone
--------------------------------------------------------------

Jesha cried out with a panicked yelp as the flung knife just barely missed in front of his face. Whimpering with panicked trembles, the bells adorned his clothing jingled as they swayed from his movements. With fear welling up in his heart, and the beginnings of tears forming in his eyes, the illusion that beheld Maeven warped briefly and darkened a few tones before it seemed to crack and shatter within the span of a moment. None of the group would likely be able to tell that something was wrong, except for Jaelle. They knew each other long enough and he had conjured many other colorful illusions for her to know that this wasn't at all normal behavior, and he had only broken out into tears in front of his best friend very few times, namely when they had met but it had never been to this extent before. "A-alright! OKAY! Keep those heartless monsters of yours under control! Ma-make them go away, just make them GO AWAY and I'll come down! Don't let that she-devil KILL me!" the boy, who had been very playful just moments ago, screeched out in a panicked terror as he voice began to crack despite his efforts to maintain his normal cheery tone. He had been feeling 'not so happy' lately, and he knew it was something bad inside, but he was doing his best to keep smiling and be his usual devil-may-care, fun-loving ball of joy to keep those horrible disgusting feelings away. Though, with the very real threat of impending death just a short time ago, the reality of it began to sink into his mind again as stifled crying could be barely heard from his perch.

[[OOC: Operation: Sad Clown is a go? cry Also, sorry about cutting off Maliarc and Wilhelm's responses/input, but I didn't want to hold up the actual main story plot, you know? Edit:And a temp them change to fit in with current events. Edit2: made some descriptions a tad more colorful]]

Alfen remained silent as he stood beside Maliarc. The two exchanged their opinions on the matter but stayed put. They were not part of this and wanted no involvement. He did not support the level of violence. but Alieth was right. He was in the way and they needed to move on. He didn't want to say it out loud because he was worried he might upset Jaelle. He didn't want to do that. He didn't like to hurt anyone.

Jaelle frowned and stepped closer to the tree. "Jesha, please, no one will harm you. Just come down. It's alright, I promise. Have I ever broken a promise to you in the time I've known you?" she pleaded to him. She was just trying to get him to calm down. She knew his spells never did that. Never broke. She looked up into the tree and saw his brightly colored clothing and gave him a small smile. She didn't know whether he would come down or not.

Eli watched the events unfold and wondered if he should intervene. He caught sight of a new person standing behind the tree and narrowed his eyes at the person. A man. "And who might you be?" he asked. His tone sounded harsh and it wasn't meant to be. But, with the assassin they just encountered, he was wary.

Sevira moved her eyes to the tree to see someone standing there. In the outfit he was wearing, he was likely only hidden until the spell was broken. She was unhappy with the events unfolding but, in truth, she had to agree with Alieth on the matter at hand. The boy was preventing them from continuing on with the mission at hand. It was a mission that she was hand-chosen to complete and one that was of dire need to be completed in a timely fashion. If the boy could be left in the tree, the better.

"We move on. The boy can stay in the tree if he likes, for all I care, but we have a mission at hand. Those without a horse, find someone to ride with. Let's go," she stated firmly and kicked into Olrun's side, getting her trusted steed to trot away from the trees.

Amira was at least happier when Sevira said to move on. While she did not like being stopped, as she feared for her life at this point in time, she did not want to watch the boy be butchered. As everyone seemed to ignore the other man, she wondered just who he was to remain hidden for so long. She wanted to speak out against leaving so soon, but it was to no avail. Sevira and Wilhelm were already moving on from the scene and so she did too. She just hoped the boy would be okay and not be attacked again by Veronica. How she wondered what this journey would be for her? There were demons after her, and she wondered if the group would be enough to keep them at bay. She also wondered if she would be able to keep her identity a secret from the others. So many questions were on the firey-haired Elven lass's mind.

Ezra stepped out when all eyes fell on him. He wasn't going for stealth in the outfit he was wearing, he was going for cover of travel. As he stood in the clearing, he slid one of his hands through his red hair. His hairstyle itself was rather odd and made him stand out; it was half-shaven with the shaven side containing shaved patterns. Once he let his hand fall, he gave a small smile. "You may call me Shade if you'd like," he merely answered back.

He was trying to be as vague as possible and avoid the direct statements until he could analyze the situation better. The two warrior women who were calling the violent shots were the ones he was worried about most. There were some he knew were no threat, but he kept his eyes on those who might pose a challenge. He knew that fighting from the ground against those on horseback wasn't easy, but his lycan heritage would give him an advantage. However, as an member of the Order of Assassins he would only use the full range of such skills in actual combat.
