Company: Mr "Shade", Mr Goat, Jaelle, Mrs Horny Mean Lady, Mr Old Mage-y Man, Big Meany Veronica, Mr Knighty Man and Nice Miss Sevira, and another young man
Mood/Thoughts: Still an emotional wreck, but managing to keep it together, at least for a little while
Location: On the Road, near Sevira
Summary of Actions: Jumped down, begging Miss Sevira
--------------------------------------------------------------

Jesha gave his friend a glance down from his huddled form, still trying to hide his face as he mumbled something akin to a "No, you haven't". Seeing her smile got him to peek out a bit and calm down to some extent. "I- Wa-wait! I wanna come with you... I made a promise for someone special," his voice managed to stumble out amidst choking breaths, before standing up in his perch and pushing himself up and out with a graceful leap. The small bells adorning his colorful garb jingled erratically up until he landed somewhat ahead on the road. Turning around to go back toward the group, he did his best not to look at either of the two violent woman from earlier, going toward Sevira and gingerly reaching to tug at her arm if only because she seemed to be nice enough despite also having what he assumed to be leader status from the way the others listened to her. Looking up at her with his make-up ruined from tears, he pleaded and begged, "M-Miss Sev-Sevira, would it be okay if I rode with you or the other nice Elf lady? I'm sorry for causing so much trouble. I'll be good, I promise. I never ever break my promises. Please, can I just come along for my friend? I don't want anything to happen to her, I don't know what I'd do without her."

Abilities:
Acrobatics - A self-taught acrobat, Jesha excels at springing from one place to another through all manner of strange maneuvers be it cartwheels, leaps, or even walking on walls. Also being rather small and quite extraordinarily flexible, he can squeeze himself through tight spaces most would have trouble just fitting their shoulders into.

Fool's Conjuration - Being an entertainer of sorts, Jesha knows some little parlor tricks to amaze his audiences. His most common one is to flick out his hands to create bursts of silvery sparks into the air, raining down like confetti. The other involves creating harmless duplicates of himself that can interact with the world, but may do no harm. Both have very little strain on Jesha, but repeated daily use takes its toll on his energy and requires a day's rest after using them in total of 4 times.

Illusory Magic - Jesha, having felt the need to make his acts more amazing, has taken to learning magic that can alter the perceptions of those around him. Although them may feel very real, everything that happens is akin to a dream and no real danger is present in them. However, using these illusions can be quite draining on Jesha, so he only uses them once per day.

THE WARRIOR OF RED AND BLACK

___The illusion shattered, much like the boy's dreams of playing any more games. He wailed and complained, causing Aleith to roll her eyes. What a child... She was done with this situation and ready to move on. Even when the Faun seemed to find a new source of energy that was hiding behind the tree in the tall grass. He looked rather strange, but didn't seem hostile. He wasn't causing any trouble either. So he wasn't an issue or concern to her or the others.
___Aleith was relieved to hear Sevira insist they continue and leave the boy. At least she had made the right decision... Mounting onto her horse once more, she invited Veronica to ride with her. She set off in a quick trot to catch up with Sevira's pace.
___It must have been seeing that they were serious and leaving that caused the boy to panic once more. Aleith could hear him clamber down the tree and run off after Sevira. His bells jingled as he flailed about, begging to tag along with them. Even asking to ride with her! Aleith said nothing. She was finally able to see the boy up close now. He was in a complete clown costume; a jester's outfit even. The designs on his face were almost an insult to Aleith's war paint. What a pathetic human.
___She knew what the response would be had she said what she really wanted too. It would be best to just keep her mouth shut for now, she decided. Giving a stern look to the female knight, she took the lead by a few steps. Just to watch for any more interruptions in the road... But Aleith would still silently listen in to hear the answer Sevira would give him. This was another important decision.

As soon as Veronica heard her master call her name, she clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. As soon as Sevira appeared, Veronica had feared this sort of conclusion. Staring at the boy a while longer, she retreated to her masters side, silently criticizing Sevira and the others the whole time. They could scorn her actions all they liked, but that would also be admitting that their journey had no sense of urgency. If that's how they felt, so be it.

When they began their trek again, Veronica declined Aleiths offer. "No need, master, for a light trot is all this journey is worth. I can just jog." She was content until she heard the jingling of the fools bells quickly follow. Her heart sunk into her stomach;she was able to immediately comprehend what was about to happen. She looked to her master with a look of discontent. "Kill me now..." she whispered.

Sevira glared down at him in a very neutral way, but due to the boy's distress she was sure he would see displeasure. She stopped for only a moment before swatting his hand away. "We have no time to waste. I don't care if you follow behind, but you best keep up or you'll be left," she growled under her breath and continued on after Alieth and Veronica in the lead.

Wilhelm got his horse to trot up beside her and gave her a look. "I know what you're going to say; I shouldn't have been so harsh on him. We have a mission that is of vital importance, don't you remember. I have already accepted that people will come and go on this mission. I was willing to do it alone. I am not stopping now, not when we have little time to waste in the first place," she retorted.

Olrun galloped forward to keep pace with Alieth and Veronica. Sevira gave a nod to Alieth to let her know that their opinions were the same in this matter. She did not want to waste time for a boy, and if he would keep up than fine. If he did want to join them, he would have to do as he was told and carry his own weight. If not, Sevira would leave him behind in a heartbeat,

Amira kept quiet and rode beside Alfen and Maliarc the duration of the journey. She wanted to offer her sympathies to the boy and allow him to stay with them, but it was Sevira's mission. She had enlisted the help of Sevira and Wilhelm, and even Maliarc, to protect her so she felt if she spoke against them they would abandon her in her time of need. She turned back to notice that the one man in the vibrant Erowyth travelling garbs was keeping a pace behind them. He was determined to follow suit. She slowed her horse and offered him to ride with her. He jumped onto the back of her horse with astonishing ease, causing her to raise a brow.

"You said your name was Shade. I'm Elesmira, a travelling healer," she yelled over the sound of thundering hooves over the earth below them. The group seemed more welcoming to him, so she would give him kindness that the boy had not received, much to her dismay.

Ezra, now going by his alias of "Shade", listened to what Sevira said as she was chasing after the boy to try and stop him. When there was mention of a mission that was essentially life or death, he was intrigued. He used his enhanced speed to keep pace with their horses and realised that the Elven girl slowed for him. As she reached her hand out for him, he took it and effortlessly leapt into the air to mount the horse. He appreciated not wasting his energy in running the entire way.

"Pleasure to meet you, miss. I am merely a traveller, so I am pleased to see another wanderer of nations here amongst soldiers and warriors," he reasoned. He kept to himself about the real reason he was in Fashrade as he was now interested in what the group here had set out to do. If the fate of Istrea was in jeopardy, he would abandon his first mission to aid them. If he did fully join them, he would reveal his identity and reason for being here. Only if the need arose.

A worn, wide-brimmed hat floated carelessly down a river just outside of Maeven. Underneath the hat, a meditative Illithid allowed himself to be taken by the current. Currently, the Illithid was flexing his psionic muscle. After 80 years, he still hadn't had the control over it that he desired, the control that, for one reason or another, he knew he should have. Often times, he cursed the fact that he hadn't had a master or another of his race to teach him as he grew. The only clues leading him to believe he wasn't the only one were messages sent to his mind on a few occasions throughout his life.

Suddenly, Huum felt someone, or rather a group of people, cross the river in front of him. He took a break, extending his limbs to stop himself in the depths before peeking above the water's surface. While he wasn't fast enough to see who exactly had crossed, he was able to make out a large mass on the ground further ahead. Checking to ensure the coast was clear, Huum stood, his large frame interrupting the current and forcing it to flow around him. He climbed onto the shore and allowed his limbs to stretch, releasing a few satisfied clicks from his lamprey-like mouth beneath the tentacles.

Huum glared up at the sunlight that surrounded his hat. If only he could blot out the sun, keep the world in a darkened state. Yes, that would be lovely. Slowly, he began to take in the scene around him. There were scorch marks all around, some of the local fauna was still burning. The lump on the ground appeared to be a horse and as Huum walked over to investigate it, he saw it had no physical injuries. Well, other than large char marks all over, perhaps from a spell? He recalled a lightning spell that was once used against him by a wandering mage. Oh how he had enjoyed the look in the man's eyes as his brain was stolen from him. The hopelessness, the terror, the awareness of what was to come. It made the taste even better.

Turning his attention, Huum noticed some of the scorch marks had a pattern. Footsteps? His eyes followed them to a splotch of blood on the ground. However, there was no corpse to be seen. Once more, he released a few clicks from underneath his tentacles, running his hand over the head of his mace in intrigue. Curious...very curious he thought, eyeing the trees around him.

Wilhelm let the events transpire as they wished, merely keeping a close eye out for trouble. A jester and another male had joined the group, just adding more to his work load. This quest was going to be much more difficult with all the bodies around that he needed to protect. Then again, there were only two he truly wished to protect. Amira and Sevira were the ones that he'd agreed on guarding, however he also felt the need to keep an eye out for Maliarc. Not that the old man couldn't take care of himself, but the fool went and collected his own little party of stragglers. "Harsh or not, that isn't our current problem. Sevira, take a look behind us...a look at all the tracks we are leaving. Instead of being a group on the hunt, we are more akin to a caravan of entertainers lost in the woods...all this is going to do for us is attract more trouble. And I don't know how many I can protect." He nodded towards Aleith and Veronica, "Between the four of us, just how many troubles do you think we can deal with? Even if Maliarc provides ranged support, what happens if we get overrun? This quest is life or death, we can't throw our lives away to protect the extra bodies that join us. I hate to sound so heartless, but the fact is that should some of us perish and the quest be completed...it will all be worth it."

Sevira slowed only slightly to let Wilhelm speak to her. She did value his wisdom as he was a General in the army and had won almost every battle. He was also a trusted friend of hers and she knew that his loyalty ran deep. She nodded to him in agreement and looked at the rag-tag team and it's increasing ranks. "Do you recommend we split up? Take so many with us and allow others to go with Alieth and Veronica?" she asked. "Who would go with them? Or, shall I put it, who would they tolerate in their company?"

It was not in her best interest to split up, because if the time came and they needed support having the others further away would be life or death. Still, their large numbers would attract others straight to them. It was a dilemma she had not thought of before, mostly because she was only thinking she would bring Wilhelm along with her for support. She couldn't get rid of Maliarc and Amira, since she swore to protect them, but the others were another story. Surely with some talking, Eli could look after Jaelle and her friend, if he did in fact tag along. Alfen would likely stick with Maliarc since the older mage had agreed to take him on as an apprentice. The newcomer, Shade, could likely fit in well with Alieth. But, she knew the jester boy would not be welcome there. Would Eli join Sevira's group or Alieth's?

THE WARRIOR OF RED AND BLACK

___Aleith completely understood the pained and angry look Veronica gave her. This entire thing was starting to look more like a giant circus and far from anything like a serious mission. A mix of actual warriors, civilians and colorful fools. Half of which were on horses with enough supplies to last a few days... They were a giant moving target for anyone who happened to see them or follow the trail they left. Her hands tightened around the reigns of her horse, clenching her jaw in frustration. This needed to change. From the corner of her eye, Aleith could see Sevira falling back to discuss things privately with Wilhelm. The half blood decided it would best to do the same with her apprentice now that they had a moment alone.
___"I know," she growled under her breath. "Trust me, this is driving me insane as well..." Aleith glanced back at the mix of individuals before returning her gaze to the trail in front of her. "I'm starting to regret the decision to come along. Even with the promise of being able to kill something big." Her eyes scanned the forest for any more interruptions but saw nothing. The only sounds around them were the soft whispers from the group, the hooves of their horses and the birds in the branches above. She almost wished the demon who attacked them would return just to sway her boredom...
___A sudden spark of curiousity hit Aleith at that moment. "Tell me, Veronica. What do you think?" she asked, flashing her a half-smile. "Should we just leave and find our own way to the temple and enemies to kill or stay with this party to see what happens?" Aleith was genuinely curious about Veronica's decision making process, especially for a situation like this.

Location: The forest outside of Maeven, following the river.
Company: Veronica with Amira, Alfen, Jaelle, Maliarc, Eli, Sevira, Wilhelm, Shade and Jesha close behind.

With his heightened hearing, Ezra was listening to everything around him. When the half-breed warrior woman, Alieth, began discussing leaving the group to go on their own, his interest went up. The mention of taking down something big? Maybe they could help him find Teivel and he could take the Parasite Demon down. He was probably the only one alive that could tell who Teivel was in and out of his forms with ease. Werewolves were a common enemy of demons for that reason; their heightened senses made them less likely to fall for such tricks. He slid of the horse he was on and bolted over to the two, keeping pace with them with ease.

"Did I hear something about abandoning the others and going to a temple? May I inquire as to what your conversation entails?" he giddily exclaimed. He wanted to avoid innocents being involved when he went after Teivel. If these two had encountered him and won, they would be less likely to be killed. That would be less of a burden on Ezra since he wouldn't have to protect them so much.

Alfen stayed beside Maliarc as the group continued on. He looked back to see Jaelle and Elijah fall back to the jester boy, left in the dust. He felt bad for the youth, but he had more important things to worry about. His magical studies were the only thing he was worried about right now. Anything else could wait. Maliarc was willing to take him as an apprentice and he would follow his master wherever he said to go. And if that was behind Sevira, so be it.

Jaelle had stopped on her horse, beside Eli, to comfort Jesha as he tried talking to Sevira. It wasn't going well for him so far. She climbed down from her steed and watched the group continue on into the distance. "Jesha. please, don't cry. Eli and I will stay with you until everything is better, I promise. But we have to find a way to join with the others at some point. I need to help them. The fates foretell it," she explained as she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

Eli waited with Jaelle, unwilling to let someone be left behind. He wanted to help stop tragedies of the past from reoccurring but he wasn't about to leave a boy behind. He nodded silently to what Jaelle had to say. She was right, they would have to join the group at some point. They needed the numbers, but not all in one area. Splitting into three factions would do them well. This small team (him, Jaelle, and Jesha) could be the scouts and keep an eye on the roads for enemies and relay it to the others in some way. What way was that, he didn't know. Yet.

Summary of Actions: Trying to compose himself a bit better in front of Jaelle, hugging and moving to mount up, trying to convince her to come back home
--------------------------------------------------------------

He seemed to visibly shrink back as Sevira swatted his hand away with what felt like a cold glare, only to whimper out a faint "Yes Ma'am" to her response as he looked down at the ground as the rest passed around him. Feeling a familiar hand on his shoulder, he flinched briefly at the soft voice. Wiping his tears, and most of his ruined make-up along with them, with the long wide sleeve of his outfit, Jesha gave his friend a concerned glance even though he was still trying to hide his face a bit. "I- I'm sorry. I just- I don't want you to get . . . hurt. Or- Or . . . worse," he squeaked out, turning to wrap his arms around her in a tight, albeit shaky, embrace before moving to mount up a bit farther back on Jaelle's horse. It wasn't that he didn't trust Eli, he trusted the goat more than some of the others in fact. He had a kind face, it reminded him almost of his father in a way, but he wanted to ride with someone he had no doubts about trusting. Once they were both mounted up, Jesha would move to wrap his arms around Jaelle's belly to hold tight against her. He didn't want to fall off, and he missed her so much in the time she had been gone. He made a promise to stay with her and watch out for her, and he wasn't going to just run away because of a few disturbingly mean people that were with her. "They seem like they can handle themselves, what do they need you for anyway? Why can't we just go back home where it's safe and- and I won't have to worry about you?"

After a quick scan of the area, Huum decided that whoever had fought was gone. The fact that something had been powerful enough to lose that much blood and get away sent a tingle up the Illithid's spine. If he could find and defeat such a beast, he would truly have a test of his strength rather than the wandering meals he encountered alone in the forest.

He made his way back to the river, looking across, focusing on the trampled grass on the other side. There had been a number of people to come through this way and Huum couldn't help but be curious. He looked once more to the river, the thought of spending the afternoon drifting lazily in meditation was tempting, especially with the sun still high in the sky. However, there was something drawing him to the thought of adventure, similar to when he visited the Temple of Sacrifice to see that know-it-all priestess. Oh but Huum had proved her wrong, he wouldn't need to sacrifice anything, his memories of his precious Nyarai would be with him until his dying breath.

Deciding to give in to his urges, the Illithid crossed the river and began following the tracks, moving at a moderate pace. He paused for a brief moment, examining the tracks more closely. Were those hoofprints? Huum detested horses almost as much as they hated him. Anytime he had come across a horse it always tried to attack him. It had been a hard lesson to learn but thankfully it was a quick one. One can only take so many hoofs to the face before they detest an animal. Hurrying on, he saw the tracks conglomerate and move on. This was a rather large party he was after, even with his psionic powers he couldn't possibly take them all.

Ahead on the road, Huum saw a large group of people, most of them mounted on horses. He ran to the side of the road and followed through the trees, doing his best to keep his large frame out of sight. With the mix of people he was able to make out, he was unsure what exactly the group was. A circus caravan perhaps? Merchants? Quite a few members seemed to be heavily armed while others appeared almost fragile. Huum had to resist the urge to click in curious wonder.

Even though he was waiting for Alieth and Veronica to respond to his question, he heard footsteps far away with his advanced hearing. "Can you sense them, warrior? The person in the trees? Not the adversary you fought before, but a new person. Strength in numbers or take them on one-on-one?" he asked to Alieth.

He kept pace with the horses but his eyes fell to the shadows in the treeline and on the single outline of someone moving fast. Faster than any human, that was for sure. The silhouette wasn't a definitive marker for race, but it was not the same aura as Teivel, Ezra's target, since he knew it well. They'd clashed times before, but the battles always cut short. Ezra wanted to end him and bring him to justice in the eyes of the gods; death. He was an enemy that one would need to be cautious of, but this new person was one that Ezra felt great unease to. Just who were they?

THE WARRIOR OF RED AND BLACK

___Not even a minute after Aleith had asked for Veronica's opinion did one of the newcomers to the group come bounding up. He interrupted their conversation, questioning just what they were talking about. The little ******** had good hearing... It was also quite rude of him to just try and worm his way into a conversation that was not his. He smelled like dog too. But at least it wasn't the jester, she thought.
___Aleith turned her head to stare down at the man, narrowing her eyes at him as if she was staring down her meal. After the past two days, she wasn't in the mood to entertain or amuse someone. Especially not a nosey stranger who just popped out of the grass and joined them without approval.
___Without noticing, her upper lip had begun to curl up. She was baring her teeth at the man, giving an expression that was a mix of disgust and anger. She hesitated, grunting like an old man would if he was mulling over what to say. She wanted to tell him of the time she had slaughtered an entire group of raiders she had been traveling with. All because they wouldn't give her a moment alone with a woman she had met at a tavern. Aleith found them peeking in on them at a hot springs one night. Perhaps she'd ask the dog boy if he knew what drowning in hot water felt like...
___The sudden timid energy that entered the area caught Aleith off guard. Despite it being non threatening, she couldn't help but react as if it was. The hair on the back of her neck stood up as she instinctively began to gently pull on the reigns of her horse. Just to slow the mare down to just a walking pace. Enough for Sevira, Wilhelm and the others to catch up and group back together.
___"I do..." she whispered to Shade, turning around to see how far back the others were. As if she was trying to act like she hadn't reacted to it. Merely just slowed down for the rest of their group and was waiting up for them. She gave Sevira a serious look, then to Wilhelm. Meeting both of their eyes only for a moment and nodding once before looking ahead once again. As if to just briefly tell them both to be weary while they continued without saying anything.
___"We do nothing. They don't seem to be hostile... But if they happen attack us, you will take the others on ahead up the trail and my apprentice and I will deal with them." Her voice was serious, but calm. And quiet. "If they do not, we continue on. If they follow us..." she stopped, glancing back down at him. "We can hunt them down and kill them before they kill us." Her expression and voice might have been cold, but she meant every world. And, again, she really wasn't in the mood to joke around. There had already been too many inconvenient interruptions to this "mission". Granted, only one of of two were actually hostile. They still couldn't take a chance though. If this new new stranger decided to reveal themselves and pose a threat, they'd be swift in taking care of them and continuing on.
___"Be on your toes, Veronica. And ready those daggers." She whispered, even though she knew Veronica would already be ready if things were to go downhill.

Location: The forest outside of Maeven.
Company: Veronica with Amira, Alfen, Jaelle, Maliarc, Eli, Sevira, Wilhelm, Shade and Jesha close behind. And now a new stranger not too far off.
Mood: Alert, curious.
ooc: Boop!

Sevira noticed the slow and matched the speed. "Do you think it's our previous adversary again, Alieth?" she called out over the sound of thundering hooves.

From the encounter before, she did not want to engage in combat with him again unless she was certain she had the right people by her side. Alieth and Veronica for one, Wilhelm another, and Maliarc and Alfen for magical assist. A strong team was essential. She worried greatly over the younger ones. Jaelle and Eli had fallen back, but that did not faze her. She did not approach them and she did not know them for longer than a day like Alieth and her apprentice. They were not a friend in the same army like Wilhelm. They were not a run-away Princess like Amira. It was not the same.

Amira rose in silence to the right of Sevira, noticing the slowing of the group. The thought of asking what was going on crossed her mind, but she knew it was better to keep quiet. Deep down in her gut, she worried it was one of the Demon Hunters sent after her to try and capture her. They'd nearly succeeded before, but she managed to escape by hiding in the trees from them for a week. She didn't want to do that again. She was safest around strong soldiers like Sevira and Wilhelm, and she felt a strange sense of calmness around Alieth. Even though the woman was terrifying at first, she had an allure to her aura that Amira couldn't help but wonder about. Who really was she?

"Oh, I don't know about that. I don't sit back when I can fight. You wouldn't like it if someone told you to stand down, would you?" Ezra countered slyly.

He would surely worry about the innocent ones, but surely the young warlock would get them out of harms way. In a way, he did understand that splitting such a big group apart was a wise idea. If he had to go with anyone, he'd be inclined to follow the half-demon warrior. She had traces of Teivel's aura on her. If she had fought with him and managed to come out relatively unscathed, he'd love to hear how he battled her. If she wasn't seriously injured, he was not even considering her a threat. Ezra could tell she was a warrior through and through and not one to underestimate. She intrigued him in a way, more so about her fighting style than anything else. It was a habit as an assassin. A secret he was keeping for as long as he could, but a secret he felt was likely to reveal itself shortly.
