Areiya was breathing hard. Her hair was sticking to her neck and she had to keep her bangs from blinding her with hair grease and spritz. She turned to see the old dog keeping up panting heavily as well. Ever since the accident Bacardi was having problems moving but now he ran as if he was a young pup. After another fifteen minutes she noticed Bacardi start to slow down favoring one side over the other, before he got the familiar limp she knew all too well. “Come on boy” She called walking back over to the old hound and easily picking him up and carrying him the two blocks to their home. She stopped in front of her home noting that something was off and decided to heed the warnings of Bacardi as he began growling. She put the dog down before creeping slowly around the house towards the back where she kept a window slightly open for quick escapes.

Noting a shadow in the living room she decided to use the colonnade surrounded with overgrown rose vines to get to the second floor of her house. She was familiar with the technique after years of sneaking in and out as a young girl. Landing quietly in her bedroom floor she stilled her quickly beating heart and took slow deliberate steps towards the kitchen where she last saw the shadow all the while listening for any other signs of life. She could hear the creak of the boards as the intruder walked, spending time in fear of the mafia and listening for thieves Areiya knew where to step and where not to step.

She stopped by the living room only having the parlor room and a small hallway between her and the kitchen, grabbing a poker stick from nearby the fire place Areiya approached the kitchen. When she was close enough to see the silhouette of a tall man standing behind the thin curtain that separated the kitchen from the hallway, she stilled.

With the turn and grace of a javelin thrower she launched the poker towards the shadowy figure maiming him in his shoulder enough to hurt but not enough to kill. She then launched herself onto the intruder ready to go down fighting until she heard her name being called. “Damn it Johnquelle!” What was that for?” She looked down and saw one of her co-workers a fellow med student who would often wander around the most dangerous parts of Gotham in search of a patient.

• Her Father's Police Badge and Dog:Her father was a Gotham City Police cop, although he worked for the Mob it wasn't deep enough where it affected his family. Trying to switch sides and become clean he was set up along with his brother and Son and killed in the line of duty. Bacardi his partner and police dog was present and able to save Areiya's uncle but he is now comatose and Bacardi is now retired with a slight limp,

• Her Family Home :Since Areiya was adopted into the family having a concrete place to stay is important to her. The Rene home is what she grew up in and wants to keep in order to fill it again with people.

Romantic Viewpoint: Areiya does not believe in love at first sight or soul mates. She believes in order to make a relationship work one must put as much possible effort into it and enter a relationship with the mindset of forever, not temporary. Hence why her only relationship lasted four years in high school until the guy broke it off with her.


Personality Areiya is an overall cheerful person and loves to help all she can, hence the reason she is going to med school. She is also fighter and has a temper that she has to keep tightly reigned in for fear of seriously hurting someone. When she fights any logical and moral codes fly out the window and her only goal is to hurt the opponent until they stop moving. Underground boxing has helped her to control that mentality to some extent.

Biography
• Before Birth
Areiya was adopted by a man named Rye Atrik Rene and his wife Rue Rene as a baby. Her mother was most likely a prostitute that could not afford a child and left her in a basket in front of the police station. Rye wanting a daughter but due to his wife's recent miscarriage could not have another child to give their 4 year old son. With a crying baby no older than 4 months he decided to adopt her into his family and rise as his own. With the added family member Rye wanted nothing more than to make enough money to get his family in a nice home hence he turned to the mob for a few favors, which for him where short but lasted years to repay.

• Toddler/Grammar School Years
Areiya was always helping people as a child. If someone scraped their knee she would help the clean it. But whenever she was bullied she became extremely violent often hospitalizing her classmates. When in one of her rages she was put in a juvenile center due to the severity of the case until her father pulled more strings and got her back home. Then on He would have Areiya run and exercise to tire her and her short temper out. Areiya had many friends but all were wary of her due to her infamous fighting habits and none wanted to be on the receiving end of her wrath.

• Teen/Adult years
Areiya after a late night was angry after years of pent up frustration she wanted a fight and running around in the cool Gotham air was not helping. She stumbled into an underground kickboxing ring that was taking challengers from the audience. Areiya tried it and got beat horribly. Being her stubborn and prideful self she went back when her wounds where healed and got beat again, and several more times after that. Someone taking pity on a 15 year old getting beat down decided to start training her, she had great stamina and quickly caught on surprising her next opponent with a victory. From then on she had won after win.

• How The Mighty Fall
Areiya was spotted in several kickboxing matches and it was decided that it was tie for her to take a loss. Being approached by Cassamento to take a loss and be paid off. Areiya unaware of the crime going on within her family promptly refused, until she was approached again this time with information about her father’s debt and how far her family had fallen in with the mafia since her birth. Areiya had her first loss at 18 and her opponent was brutal. Having no choice but to cover up with makeup and sunglasses Areiya became the new breadwinner and protector for her family. Rye when he found out about his daughters dealings was ashamed mostly with himself for falling so low and the various mobsters that plagued Gotham. Wanting his little girl to attend Medical school without worry he tried selling his services back to the Mafia in place of his daughter, when that did not work he threatened to go to the district attorney a new upright man and give up every piece of evidence he had.

Rye and his brother, (Areiya's and Rhoa's uncle) Jack decided to take Rhoa, who just graduated from the police academy out on an official patrol. They responded to a small break in only to meet a barrage of bullets. Rye and Rhoa died on sight, Jack only lived because the police dog, Bacardi, that was with them took the bullet meant for rhea's head lessening the impact when it him. This left Jack in a Coma and Bacardi with a small limp.

When Rue and Areiya found out, Rue was devastated. With no one to provide for them the banks was constantly at their door threatening to foreclose their home and the mafia wanted their payment and any evidence that Rye may have had against them. Distraught Rue staged her own murder and ran off hoping that the insurance money would help ease some of the burdens that Areiya now had.

• Don't Give up on Me
Areiya now completely alone was upset. She continued fighting for the mafia and working as a Med student. She uses her internship to leave the city and head to other states when she is needed on call but due to her love of her family home she always returns.

• How the Mighty get back Up
It was on a cool crisp evening the Areiya was running and she was angry seeing a group of thugs messing with a few young girls she decided to intervene With the darkness being used to her advantage she quickly disposed of the thugs, effectively scarring the girls and hospitalizing the men. This was only the begging.
