The outer areas of Soul Society. This is where people that are outcast from Soul Society, or choose to be away from Shinigami live. Such people as Ran'tao and Kuhaku call this their home. There are various areas around Soul Society, each with different terrain. There are forests with tall thick trees, large lakes and long flowing rivers, open plains that seem to stretch for miles, and high mountains that seem to reach to the sky. When ryoka enter in the realm of Soul Society, this is usually the first place they show up. Some Shinigami also come here to train their skills to their full extent, without having to worry about injuring anyone. This is also an area that, oddly enough, has many objects that symbolize the various elements for Elemental Zanpaku-tou users to utilize. Whether this was actually intentional or pure coincidence is still unknown.

Somewhere in the outer limits far beyond where most Shinigami or even visitors to the souls society would dare go stood a nondescript building. Its most noticeable features were the lack of windows and only one very heavy door. Their were no plants growing with in five miles of this structure that gave off an ominous feeling to any who happened to see it. It was obvious that something dark and sinister was going on here far beyond the prying eyes of the Shinigami.

It was here were one Shinigami noble woman has been held captive and tortured for the last thirty or so years. She has lost all track of time and seemingly even lost the will to live. At first they just seemed to want to extract information out of her. Information of things she did not know anything about or could not share for one reason or another. She even got bitchy and refused to give them the information that she could freely give away. But after awhile after her Shinigami powers were sealed or just stripped away they discovered she had another power. This noble woman was a Shinki or living weapon. Who had they used for their own intentions with the added benefit of her unintentionally spreading the blight.

Some years before her capture her eldest brother who was the head of her family and clan had sent her out on a mission. Learning of this her Shinigami captain had also given her orders. She had just finished her missions when she was captured by this unknown group of thugs. Even though she had fought bravely and sent out a distress call she was still captured. No one would know what happened to her. Her brother and captain had unwittingly sent her into a trap. Most thought she was dead or they themselves were dead.

For sometime she held out strongly to their torture not willing to betray her people. Then she would scream and curse them after several years though she got used to the pain and lost what fear they had bullied into her. Thinking to weaken her they had attempted to first seal then to try to strip her of her Shinigami powers. This however had unleashed her Shinki powers nearly destroying the whole group. But she was already to physically to defeat them all or to escape.

Once they were able to recapture her they beat her once again to an inch of her life. Then allowed her to heal enough that they could control her. They would then spend the next several years enjoying their very own living weapon. Until the day one of them got careless. She had secretly been waiting for this day and unleashed everything she had to destroy them and run.

Once out she would head for any settlement she could find seeking help or at least food and a place to rest. The noble would then spent the next two years roaming the outer limits lost, sick, and blighted. She would fight criminals and those that were just trying to survive out here like she was. She also spread the blight where ever she went much to her shame. What was worse was aside from not being able to purify the blight was her unwillingness to spread the decease.

After much roaming and fighting she finally caught sight of what she hoped was the Rukongai and just knew she was getting close to home and the help that she needed. At one abandoned house she grabbed some bandages to redress her wounds that refused to heal and any blight that was visible on her skin. 'Tenpi and the others would know what to do they would fix this and help her clean up the blight that she had spread.' She thought hoping that she was coming upon the Western Rukongai. Much to her disappointment it was not the Rukongai that she saw. But a city of bandits and thugs. She realized that she was about to be captured again and go threw hell again. Well she figured she could at least kick but and deserve some of her licks instead of stand there like a scared fool. To her credit she wounded several badly before they managed to capture her and beat the tar out of her.

After a few days of being this new groups prisoner the Shinki grins coldly. Unlike the previous group this one seemed to have a short memory. They also did not seem to know what they had. It was not long before she was signs of blight on them and it was spreading fast through the group. For that she was sorry but these were evil men she would put them out of their misery soon. Her white Shinki robes were so dirty that they were black. The only clean things she was wearing were the bandages that another prisoner to the group was changing daily.

She had also discovered while fighting one of the group more recently that some, not much but some of here Shinigami powers had replenished. The last group must not have been able to completely strip her of them but they had weakened her considerably. She spent another day or two of hell plotting while pretending to be obedient. Once the lady was ready and while on fool played with her violin she struck. They were not expecting the level of violence that she went at them with. Once the fight was over she freed the locals and told the local priests how to clean their flocks of the blight she had unintentionally spread among them. She then quickly left before her blight could spread even more.

For her it would take more than a few run of the mill priests. She would need a ritual bath or a few Shinki to clean her of this decease. So once more she headed in what she hoped was the right direction. After Several hours of walking she once again sees what she hopes is the rukongai. So full of hope she picks up her pace as she draws close to home and her family unaware of the pain that she would soon face. Elninio Hi was almost home.
