Mikel looked down as he was glared at by Gabriela, feeling guilty for possibly aiding in ruining Wynter's reputation and causing rumors.
"You're right. I apologize for my severe lack of judgement. I should not have let Wynter drag me all this way." he said. Even though Mikel had not planned on letting anything happen between himself and Wynter, despite whatever desires he had, he knew just the fact that they were alone in her room together was enough to cause a scandal. "Were you the only one to see us leave?"

Looking between the two, Wynter crossed her arms. "I am not invisible!" she exclaimed, clearly upset. "Gabriela. I brought him here so he could tell me of home and calm me down. I wasn't planning anything stupid." she explained, close to crying s she looked down. Unlike Mikel, she really had not been able to see her home much while growing up but that didnt mean she didnt miss it.

It was clear from Mikel's apology that he did, in fact, realize that it wasn't a good idea to be alone with the princess in her bed chambers. It was also clear that he was ashamed for letting it happen. "No, I don't think so." She replied, her voice softening. Turning back to the princess, she smiled a little. "Of course you can talk to him about home. There is nothing wrong with that. But if you want to talk to him in private, it had better be in a public place." It sounded contradictory, but it was possible to have a conversation with someone in the garden, on the dance floor, out in the town, at a restraunt-- and still have it be semi private. Besides, it wasn't as if it was a top-secret conversation anyway. "If it's more important that the conversation take place here in your room-- then I can stay so you don't get into trouble. Or if you want it to be just the two of you-- you could move the conversation back to the ball or wherever but for heaven's sake, not in here." Gabriela hated feeling like a bossy person, or like the 'bad guy' when all she had was the princess's best interests at heart. "When the prince does something like THIS and gets caught, I don't want him to have any reason to suggest that he wasn't in the wrong because you were doing it, too. The prince doesn't deserve you and I can't imagine what it is like to be associated with him as you are, but... it's ones actions that make one noble, not their bloodline. I know you're not even capable of stooping to his level, Princess, I know... but there are others who would be happy to see you fall on your face."

Wynter looked down, crossing her arms again. "I just want to speak with him. Without anybody else. Everybody else judges. He doesn't" she explained as she looked at Gabriela. "If i try to talk around Nicholas, he gets rude. And I just want to escape that" Wynter took a breath as she held back tears of anger and sadness. She looked at Mikel then at Gabriela.

"Wynter, though you do not wish to believe it, Gabriela is right." Mikel said gently, finding it best to talk like her friend rather than her guard at the moment. "We can still hold private conversations and perhaps even gain a few moments alone, but here I'm your chambers is the worst possible place for that. While I understand your desire to get away from everything, the prince included, I cannot let you put your reputation at risk. If the king anf queen think you are unfaithful to the prince, they may call off the engagement and leave you with no where to go. As your guard and your friend, I cannot allow this."

Gabriela rolled her eyes. "You are SO drunk." She told Wynter, seeing how emotional she was getting as she threw herself a pity party. "You are lucky that Mikel is a gentleman. Any other man would have taken advantage." Other than her, Mikel was the only other person in the room who still had common sense. "Well, you heard her. She only wants to talk to you." Gabriela said, looking to Wynter's guard. "If I were you, I would take her to the servant quarters and ask for something to sober her up. I'll tell the others that she wasn't feeling well and asked you to take care of her as not to disturb the banquet." She suggested. "Unless you have a better idea."

Sticking her tongue out at the woman, Wynter laid back again. Looking up at the canopy above her. She took a deep breath, yawning as she covered her mouth. Then she looked at Gabriela and Mikel. "Maybe i should as the king and queen to excuse the marriage. Since it seems neither of us wants it." she explained.

"Yes that sounds like a good idea," Mikel said at Gabriela's suggestion to take Wynter to the servant's quarters and get her something to sober her. Though the princess spoke, he ignored it for the moment, knowing it was not a good idea to feed her drunken ideas. "Come on Wynter, we can talk privately in the servants quarters."

Wynter glared at the two and stood. "You two are not helping this." she explained as she walked out and looked around, heading for the servant's quarters. Her eyes stung from being close to crying. She was upset and her emotions were running haywire from her being drunk. She ignored Mikel as he followed her, not wanting to speak to him at the moment. (exit)

Mikel sighed as he followed the princess, knowing she must hate him at the moment for not siding with her or really listening to her. He wished she could understand how much he cared for her. It was because he cared for her that he wanted to protect her reputation and prevent the king and queen getting angry with her for being unfaithful to their son
