Speaking of Christian life, Which verses of that book do you follow more? The one few that speak about homosexuality or that a woman should be submissive to her husband, even if he beats her, berates her, sleeps with the servants and treats her as subhuman.
In the same book of the bible that tells us what love is,
1 Corinthians
13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Also tells us in the next chapter
34 Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.
Untill my mother passed away, my father never stepped into a church except for funerals and weddings. He would yell at her for going to church. And used the bible as a weapon against her. So, You are going to tell me he was a "godly" man that could answer any religious questions?
If it bothers you so much, you should walk to your church on Sunday(not drive) and truly question what is the meaning your god wants to tell you. 'Cause that book was written by men. Homophobic men that feared bacon, shellfish, and tattoos.
No one is going to convince me to believe against the following... Bacon is good, tattoos are art, clams can be tasty. AND People are crazy. Many just want to feel loved by someone, and if that someone is of the same gender... No one should ******** care.
If there is a God, let him come down and smite them. He hasn't done s**t in the last millennia, it will be good to know he still cares.
To the OG, I hope you found what you seek. My thoughts and prayers still go out your way.
