Mama Blue's watched the two with a soft glow of pride on her face. To be able to be a part of such an event... There was no words. "That's a mighty fine name, dear." she said softly, nodding over at her.
At Belvah's words Mama Blue's ears perked. She was so right. She looked over at her daughter that was looking at her curiously. "Belvah, you're still weak so I am gonna hafta help ya outta here. Mind iff'n Sona took Valere here and went on ahead? Can't have 'im in here." She then looked over at Sona, "Can ya do that, m'dear?" Sona nodded firmly showing she was willing.
Sona gently reached out for the bundle, her eyes instantly going back to a look of wonderment as she took his weight from his mother. As soon as he was secure in his arms she left the room with a sense of urgency. She couldn't let anything hurt this precious little one... She tucked him tightly into her arms as she worked her way around others that were still rushing in and out of the tree helping the injured out. She kept her eyes downcast and her wings tucked tightly into her trying to make herself look as small as possible. She didn't know anyone here and didn't want to be noticed. She just wanted to get little Vakere out of the dangerous place...
She finally found her way out, the bright sun blinding her at first. She quickly tucked the cloth around his head to keep his eyes safe. She looked around and was overcome by the number of Pae that were around. The number of hurt had certainly grown since when they first arrived. She spotted a spot off away from the others and hurried that way, hoping her Mom would find her amoung the chaos.
Mama Blues took Sona's place and gingerly slipped a hand under Belvah's shoulder, "'Right, dear, can ya sit up fer me? Iff'n ya get dizzy just stop an let it clear. I'll be right here support'n ya so dun worry 'bout putt'n yer weight on me." It wasn't the easiest way to go about it, what with the small space they were in and how weak she was, but Mama Blues knew she could do it. She had already seen one miracle today. Once she was ready, Mama Blues gently pressed her hand into her shoulder before sliding it down her back and pressing her shoulder into the other's underarm as she sat up. "Take yer time, when ya wanna stand lemme know and I'll put ya on yer feet nice 'n easy like..."

Mama Blues gave a huge sigh of relief, for a moment there she wasn't sure if she was going to have to drag Belvah out of the place. That wasn't the biggest worry if she couldn't feel her lower body... She pushed the worry from her mind and turned her focus back to the female in her arms.
Mama Blues made sure to keep most of the female's weight on her and went about movement slowly. She tried to hug a lot of the walls to keep out of the way of rushing Faun. Thankfully no one stopped them so though it was slow going at least they were making their way. She laughed heartedly at the woman's sweet words, "Hun, we're here for a reason and that's to do good! How could I turn away from one of my own, hmm? And with a bab'n? Don't even mention it!"
Finally, with the sun hitting her face, she took in a deep breath of sweet air. She had to blink and cover her eyes, but at least they had made it! They could find a nice spot and take a break. Speaking of which, her eyes landed on her brightly colored child and she beamed. The two had found a perfect spot in a shady area a bit further off than anyone else, "Almost there!" she exclaimed, shuffling the two of them over that way. She could feel her body trembling, and was huffing by the time she got there. She did her best to slowly lower the new mother to the ground before plopping herself down by her.
Sona was relieved to see the two of them making their way out of the tree. Valere had been amazing, but Sona didn't want it to get to a point where she had a screaming newborn in her arms. As much as she adored the little face, she didn't need every Faun there staring her down. As soon as Belvah looked like she was comfortable, Sona leaned over and gently placed the child back in her arms. She gave the female a large grin before lowering herself to the ground next to her so she could look at the sweet face.
"Good girl, Sona." Mama Blues huffed. She brushed her hand across her forehead before turning her gaze towards the busy lawn, "Gonna be a heck of a clean up... Wonder what most gonna do 'bout sleep'n places now."

Belvah was glad to have made it out of the tree, and even more so for the help of the faunness that kept her upright as they made their way out of the damaged Laishidiel. Without the stress of Valere trying to come into the world, it was then that she felt her very soul aching. The silvery faun glanced back after breathing in some of the clean air now surrounding them.
"Do you see that?" She asked, looking to Mama Blues. "Something is wrong..." Belvah frowned, now far more worried about their home than anything. She paused her worry long enough to get her rear on the ground and Valere in her arms before she turned her attentions back to the tree. "Whatever has happened today, we will always remember it..." Belvah's voice had begun cracking, finally ending in a few tears. The Great Tree had been injured and all she could think about was the little baby in her arms.
"Thank you Sona." Belvah smiled, tears still in her eyes.
He'd been quiet for the small arms holding him, it wasn't until the large ones came back that he started to wiggle and squirm. Valere didn't like being jostled like that, even his face scrunched up. No tears, no screaming, just an obvious show of discomfort until he was shifted back to rest on something soft and something hard.
Belvah squeaked, shifting Valere in her arms until he wasn't making that face anymore. Poor baby, she must have pinched something or something! Cue the panic, she'd hardly ever held one so recently born. He was so much smaller than she'd been expecting. A fresh wave of worry flushed through her as she realized, it hadn't been a full season yet. Surely there would be something wrong with him for coming into this life so early!

"There will be. There are always enough hands to help her." Belvah's eyes closed, letting the pain consume her for a moment. Something both soul deep and physical. So much had just happened, she could barely hope to process it. Belvah could only be grateful that her baby had finally come into the world at that moment. He had been such a strong fighter, surviving everything that may have gone wrong.
Valere's little eyes were closed, all the trauma of coming into the world making him sleepy. He was happy to stay with whatever warm thing was holding him right then. The adoring gaze cast down on him wasn't even noticed as he slowly drifted off to his first sleep.
Belvah's eyes had opened, and fallen to Valere in her arms. This little guy was what it was all about now. There was no way she was going to go back into Laishidiel when She was that torn up. Their home may have been extremely important, but so was the health of her son. "It wasn't, but I can't bring him inside The Tree. Not any time soon. He came early." Belvah admitted, not at all upset about it. What upset her was that he may have had his health compromised by where she'd given birth to him. The air inside had been so very clogged with debris... "Would it be too much to ask to stay with you a while?" The question was out of her mouth before she had the chance to properly think about it. Laishidiel be blessed, Belvah's mouth was moving quicker than her brain. "The air near Her can't be good for him right now..."

Belvah barely noticed the hesitation before Mama Blues answered her. She was so intent on keeping her eyes open and on Valere not much could have shocked her right then. Little did she know that there would be a rather large shock in store when they arrived at the kind faun's home.
She did catch the part about other kinds. That caused her to blink, looking up. "You mean faun and fauny?" Belvah asked, thinking it impossible for any of the faun to be with anyone but another faun or one of the faunies. As far as she was aware Sona was just a gorgeously colored Pegasus fauny. But that wasn't what she wanted to think about right now. Valere needed a safe place to be for a while. If that meant staying with someone Mama Blues thought may be controversial, then she'd do it. For him.
"Thank you Mama Blues." The smile on her face was genuine. How could it be anything but? "Little Valere needs the rest more than I do. I don't imagine how traveling right after being born would be any good for him." A weak laugh, hoping to have made a joke. The smile was still there when her gaze turned towards the precious bundle in her arms. A nap was most certainly a good idea. "A nap sounds wonderful..." She mumbled, finally letting her eyes close. Her last sight before the first of many uncomfortable sleeps was of Valere's peacefully sleeping face.
~~~
An untold number of hours later Belvah would wake, curious as to how she'd managed to lay down and have barely jostled Valere. And Valere, who was awake and alert sitting there in her arms. Her heart melted at the sight of those gorgeous green eyes. A shade she'd once decided she'd never see again, and now it was the sweetest thing in her world. "Good morning Valere." She cooed, gently brushing the top of his head. The rest of the world could wait, this was important.
Mama Blues was surprised at how quickly the two fell asleep, though she couldn't blame them. What a day... and it was no where near finished. They still had a journey before them with no say when they would arrive. She and her daughter managed to make it in good time, but with these two... They'd just have to see.
She couldn't stand by and watch them sleep though. For the time being she knew the pair would be ok while others needed them. She offered to let her daughter stay, but was surprised by her reaction. The young one was so tired, but she showed such a willingness to help. So the two left to do what they could.
They lost track of time pretty quick. It was exhausting work, but felt so good to be a part of the clean up. She was shocked to see how well Sona took to helping others who were hurt. The young one didn't know a whole lot, but her sweet smiles and quiet demeanor really seemed to calm a lot of hurting Faun down. Usually Sona was so scared to be around others- hating the fact she couldn't communicate with them- but she was blossoming in this instant.
They made it back to where Belvah slept just a bit before she woke up. They were sitting in silence trying to catch their breath and rest their hooves. The thought of a journey was the last thing they wanted to do, but at the same time they were so ready to be home and in their beds. Then Mama planned on coming back.
She smiled at the pair, her heart warming at the female. It seemed like such a natural state for her to be in with this child. She'd make such a beautiful mother. Once they had had their moment she gently spoke up, "How ya do'n, dear? Ya wanna feed ya fella then head out? Sona and I wont mind rest'n a bit 'less yer ready to ger mov'n?"
Belvah had slept, if a little uncomfortable, quite well for everything that was occurring. For a moment, upon regaining awareness, she'd thought it had all been one hellish dream. But there was a re-assuring warmth in her arms and a lack of swelling in her abdomen to remind her she was very much not pregnant anymore. Valere was laying there in her arms. A smile slowly crept onto her features as she realized she'd managed to bring a gorgeous little one into the world. Finally. After all the issues, the trials, and the many many disappointments, she had a child to care for. Laishidiel blessed her greatly even while she was hurting so much.
Her reverie was broken when Mama Blues spoke up. "You look like you've been very busy while we were sleeping." She blinked, taking in the slightly disheveled appearances of the girls. They had to have been very busy helping the other faun. Blessed Earth they were two very kind hearted women. "You shouldn't forget to take care of yourselves too. It's been a big day for all of us Mama Blues." Belvah offered a smile, shift as carefully as she could, Valere was still waking, she didn't want to disturb him just that instant, though surely he was staving by now. He'd yet to have a proper meal!
"I need to get up and stretch, before we leave. But you're right. Valere needs to eat before we leave, and you two need to rest."
Sona got up from where she was sitting and scooted closed to Belvah and Valere once they were awake. She leaned in close to take a look at him, a giant smile appeared on her face. His sweet face brought so much joy to her! She was excited to take this journey with the two of them and to actually have them both live with them for awhile! She began to feel giddy at the thought of her sister getting to see him next as well! She was sure she'd love that sweet face as well!
She looked up at Belvah and blushed slightly. She rubbed a hand over her hair trying to calm it down, but mostly give her hands something to do at her shyness. It had felt good to help, but certainly tiring. She didn't feel like she had done a whole lot, but the praise was sweet. She really liked this lady, and especially how welcoming she had been with her... difference.
Mama Blues motioned Sona to come back over and the young girl did, sitting back in the cool grass with her mother. "Let 'em have a moment. sweetie." she said as she draped an arm around Sona and smiled at Belvah, "Couldn't just watch 'em work. Though I hadn't lived here long I still feel a measure of responsibility fer it." She looked up into the clear sky, eyes landing towards the top of the tree. She watched the leaves for a bit, hugging her daughter close before glancing back at Belvah.
"Sounds like a good idea. Ya take care of yerselves and let us know when ya ready. We can go at any time and just take our time gett'n there. Ya both are look'n much better as it is!"
This day had turned out much different than she had expected and would end very late. She knew at this point they'd be getting home later in the night, but they'd make it. She could see the strength flowing through the new mother. Whether it was the good sleep or just her resolve to protect her child- either way she admired it.
