Livna had been sent on her name quest shortly after her growth to adolescence, which was custom, and in truth she wasn't too pleased.

The pale lioness wasn't entirely sure what there was to do, or if there was something in particularly she would need to get done in this time, aside from find her new name of course.

She had decided early on that she would much rather be listening to her mothers stories from her birth pride, or learning something interesting - and probably morbid - the lioness had bizarre interests. To her however, they were perfectly normal.

Instead she had taken to wandering around the lands she was unfamiliar with, hoping for something, anything. Something profound was unlikely, but something interesting was much needed.

Her tail curled around her legs like a serpent and her eyes stared blankly ahead as she moved slowly. From a distance she looked almost like a ghost.

User ImageThe old shaman had been travelling for a long time now, since her pride had broken up. And since she had mainly stayed away from the main area the pride inhabited, she was still sorely missing their company. Her memories and her knowledge of why they had died off and dissipated were fairly thin to begin with, and so it made it even harder to move on without closure. Kostachiwin felt as though without the pride, she had little purpose. Unable to continue her job, and others found her profession often disturbing or scary, so she had made little success.

Wandering the rogue lands was strange to her, and as an old lioness, even more difficult, as it was getting harder to hunt by herself, and many were wary of her due to her appearance and her persona. Though she figured maybe shamans from other prides or who lived on their own maybe had similar troubles. All she wanted was to be able to teach and help others see things again...

She pulled her wandering mind back to her wandering body, shaking her head to clear the negative thoughts. And that's when she spotted another lioness. This one looked quite a bit younger than herself, and she had a bit different of a build than the others she had seen who were from these parts. A strange sort of near-magnetism pulled at Kosta's thoughts, and she felt as though this was an intended encounter. Fearlessly, the black-furred and strangely marked lioness began toward the younger female.

"You there...what are you doing out here?" She inquired in a raspy voice, directly approaching the young female. "You must be looking for something..." The old lioness trailed off, stopping but a few meters away from the other, staring at her blankly. It didn't occur to Kosta that this might simply scare the poor girl away, but she hadn't had bad luck with this direct approach in the past very often.

The pale and ghostly young lioness stopped in her tracks as she was jolted out of her trance and her eyes widened in sight of the female. She seemed much older, and the rasping sound of her voice hinted at some years - and therefore perhaps wisdom, accompanied it.

Once she'd heard the strangers voice however, she had stopped to admire her pelt. It was beyond the most unusual and beautiful thing she had ever seen. Livna had never seen anything similar. Jet black, it looked like she was wearing a skull, but these were the markings on her coat. The skull markings seemed to deviate into impressive large swirls on her shoulders.

If ever there was a lioness that would be marked to her design, it would be this one. So creepy and yet so enchanting.

She took a sharp breathe and moved forward. Usually a fairly distant lioness, Livna could not pass up the opportunity to talk to this lioness. And unknown to the stranger, the pilgrim felt a strange sort of magnetism too for a moment.

"I'm just - wandering." A simple answer in response the the older lionesses forward question. To tell the lioness what she was really looking for would require pride details, and a back story that could take a while to explain, for now, she just wanted to admire that coat.

Kosta was curious as to why the younger female had skirted her question so uncaringly, but it wasn't something she hadn't experience before, anyways. The old lioness swished her tail, watching as the white lioness seemingly examined her coloration with quite a bit of curiosity. She tilted her skull-marked head and contemplated the response of the other.

"I see. Well, you don't look like you're from around here, but I will take your answer, girl." Kostachiwin was amused at her distant-seeming disposition. "You know, an old woman like myself might be able to assist you if you were to provide some detail on your wandering..." She trailed off for a moment, smiling a very strange smile indeed. It looked almost as though her mouth were stitched shut when she smiled without baring her teeth.

The old lioness had been very desirable in her old pride, and it always amused her her the others out in these lands she now wandered found her so weird or scary looking. Though this youn girl seemed more intrigued than wary.

She considered that the stranger might find her odd for looking at her pelt so intently, so gave her head a little shake and averted her eyes for a moment.

"I'm sorry, I just think your pelt is wonderful." Livna said simply with a half-smile. "Skulls are intriguing and beautiful things, don't you think? The echo of a life, something left behind to show for it." She had rambled more than she intended and snapped back to their conversation.

This lioness, although a stranger in these unfamiliar lands, seemed like she could be trusted. Though not incredibly friendly there was something Livna liked about her that extended beyond her fascinating pattern and colouration.

"I'm looking for a name. Where we come from, it is a pride tradition." She kept a stern expression,. "Although whether we are supposed to have a journey or an epiphany, that I do not know."

This strange lioness seemed to bring out Livna's more talkative side, though not cold she could be very selective in who she conversed with. Distance was a careful measure, and could be used to protect oneself when needed, though she did admit there was no use in being overly cautious - not on her name quest, anyways.

The old dark-furred lioness was slightly taken aback by the young one's fascination. Admittedly, yes, it was being taken as a compliment, which were few and far these days. She was quite taken by this dainty and mysterious young one. "Why thank you, young lady." She rasped again at the younger lioness. "I'm sure you can see that I've quite made my acceptance of skulls. You should have seen the dear creature who birthed me. If I could only have been half as beautiful..." Kosta trailed off for a moment. It was nice to think of her mother. And in all honesty, she really did think her mother was the most beautiful lioness she would ever see in the whole of the lands.

"But you are quite a pretty little thing yourself, little name seeker." The old lioness let out a strange chortle and shifted her weight. "My dear, a journey can be an epiphany, and so can an epiphany be a journey. There is nothing set in stone for how you find what you seek, but it will come to you when it wants to, just call to it in your heart." Kosta purred in a soothing and vibrative tone to the younger lioness. "A very special tradition, by the sounds of it." She added, flicking her ears and looking down at her paws for a moment.

"Why don't you walk with me, girl? I can show you something I bet you have never seen before...Where are you from?" Kosta spoke again in her regular rasping tone, shooting the white-furred female an inquisitve look.

The words "young lady" threw into perspective the age difference of the two females, although it was something that Livna found to be interesting, rather than a deterrent to conversation. This lioness had obviously seen and experienced a great deal in her life, and certainly a great deal more than Livna had thus far.

"I wish I could have seen her." She said wistfully. Having a pale white coat was nice, but sometimes it was a little plain.

"Thank you." This lioness did indeed seem wise, she had a way of talking that was quite hypnotic, and Livna couldn't help but be drawn in.

She would usually refuse to walk alongside a stranger for too long a period, but opted to walk alongside this skull-clad creature for a while.

"Jini-msemi. We live on a mountain..." She stopped to avoid a lengthy discussion and looked around them, it was nearing dusk. The adolescent looked back towards where she assumed home would be, but found she wasn't quite sure. However her attention was turned to something the lioness said before her question. "What are you going to show me?" Her eyes narrowed for a moment, suddenly a little wary.
