Her eyes scrolled along the long black menu that fit snuggly in her hands. Trailing the bold letters with her finger, something grabbed her attention. Joy ran through her as her final decision was made. A little afraid of her reaction to intoxication, Vivian took a deep breath and eyed the waiter."I'll take...a swamp thing?" The drink's name rolled awkwardly from her tongue, oh how she felt stupid for repeating such a ridiculous name aloud. Trying to free her mind from the awkwardness she lifted her gaze towards Armand."Thanks Army...", the statement was raw. It was powerful, her sweet voice meant every syllable of her last statement. The statement that meant a broad array of things.
Armand would only shrug. "Thanks for what?~" He'd ask, unsure of what she was going on about. Armand had the emotional sensibility of a tree. He was always pretty simple, taking pleasure in the smallest of things. The jounin did note, however, that her last statement had something to its tone...and he could always read peoples' words well. Two years had done a number to the two, apparently. Her words were less shy, less introverted.
"A swamp thing. I can't complain~" He said with a small laugh as it was brought out. It was in a highball glass, and was a color he couldn't quite figure the name of. It was a mix of a cloudy orange and green. With a shrug, Armand picked up the glass and examined it before throwing the liquid back. It tasted...well...it wasn't like candy, that was for certain. But, it was interesting and didn't taste terrible, so he swallowed. Things felt fuzzy for a brief second, for some reason, but he quickly snapped back to reality. Little did he no, his clan's natural abilities were burning away and neutralizing the alcohol as soon as it hit the blood stream. With the help of seeing Vivian's tattoos, that might be neutralized for the night...but Armand couldn't quite figure that out.

Armand's reaction proved that this little drink couldn't be too strong. Taking the small black straw from its paper wrapper, Viv sipped. There was a heating sensation resting on the back of her throat. Was this what everyone drank for? Before answering the question -- because she was a little nervous, she gulped a large gulp. No effect."For everything. Every since we first sat at this table...you've been by my side. You're the only one I trust, and probably ever will. You've been so patient with my insecurities. You're just-", everything seemed to slow down. Her movements were slightly uncoordinated. With wide topaz eyes Vivian wondered what the hell was going on. Her tongue began to loosen along with her posture,"You've been such a good good friend! Thank you sooo much!!", her once tiny voice was boisterous. Soon she reached across the table to hug Armand. It hit her at last.
Loud and boisterous? This was new. Armand wouldn't mention it though. He feared if he brought it up, she'd relapse and go back to being a confined introvert. Suddenly, what she said had finally hit his ears. He guess in a sense it was true. Armand had been by her side out of a sense of duty and friendship, he couldn't really deny that. Despite his professionalism, he'd gotten very involved with her wellbeing and personality.
Then the hug hit, which he accepted. Things in Armand's head were starting to click. Her chest pressed up against him, Armand seemed to realize something. He was straight. When did this happen? He wasn't gay before either, he just never really payed any attention to any of that. But here in a small, barely populated area, there wasn't too much else to focus in on. Completely unaware of how to handle this type of situation, he just hugged back and tried to keep his face from going red. "I do what I can. You're deserving of somebody you can rely on~"
After the embrace, if it ended, he'd have his glass refilled and would drink it down again in a swift motion, without any effect. Quizzical.

Vivian's toxic alcohol breath plumed into the immediate area. Boy was she feeling it, spilling everything."Thank you Army. You're my everything. My night, my day", she held the hug strong. After releasing, Viv could feel herself stumbling backwards. Her hands gripped the chair roughly. She was feeling really nice...real nice. "Army!" She could feel herself slipping; she was about to spill something she'd kept bottled too too long.
Armand continued to drink. Nothing. He continually wondered why Vivian was slipping into this state and he remained perfectly fine. "Well I'm glad I had such an impact~" He'd say as a response and shift his chair over to the adjacent side of the table. Mostly, this was just to keep Vivian at an arm's length to keep her from falling over.
Her tolerance was rather...nonexistent. Armand placed a hand on her side and kept her propped up and not falling off the chair. "Viv!~" He repeated playfully after she said his nickname rather energetically. He wasn't sure what the big deal about drinking was. It wasn't very noticeable to him. It was almost a bit frustrating. The old men always made it seem like it was such a great thing. "Careful not to hurt yourself~" He'd only say, as it seemed like she was continually getting clumsier.

She continued."I remember that one time that you came to see me at the Uzumaki palace. I was like....ssoooo happy. Maybe that's why I fell in love with you. I don't know Why I'm so afraid to tell you. But don't ask me my secret cause' I can never tell you. Ok? Wanna know my secret?" The Uzumaki was spilling all of her secrets like it was nothing. Quickly her mind caught with her body; both hands clasped around her mouth to stop the blabbering. Then it came. The drowsiness, bah why couldn't she hold herself up? Why were her legs made of jelly. Viv reached for the glass on the marble table, there was a little left. Inside there was a battle, the alcohol was making decisions of its own.
Armand cocked his head and could only grin at what she was saying. How he wished the alcohol was working. It might make this a little easier to handle. Love? That was...not quite what he expected. But then again, things were starting to make sense. It wasn't that Armand didn't reciprocate, or couldn't get to a point where he could...it was just that he was a bit more logical in that aspect of emotion compared to the other ones.
Relationships were dangerous, especially with him. Being an unstable barely-human tank wasn't quite something he'd want to put on a significant other. Armand only grinned and laughed along, nodding and going with the flow of things. If he couldn't get drunk, it'd probably be better for the night to be without consequence, lest he be responsible or create an air of consequence. Still, better just to humor Vivian's drunken self, Armand figured. "Heh, sure. What's your secret? You know I keep them safe~"

Vivian burst into a random blast of laughter. The uncontrollable laughter continued for a while. After a while the bartender looked towards the couple with curiosity."Wouldn't you like to know! Oo! Without feeling an ounce of intoxication, Armand played along with what Vivian was saying. He could sense the random sadness coming and would be pretty apt to stop it. Even a drunk person was still readable. "No, no, it's fine. You're very pretty, don't worry much about it~" Come to think of it, he had just about seen her without clothes on. Vivian probably owed Aomi a few punches for that.
A secret? He didn't have many. He was pretty simple. "Secret...hm. I guess my secret is that I like getting hurt. Makes me feel human sometimes, right?~"
About the time he finished the sentence, Yami walked in. The jounin shook his head at the request. "Can it wait?~" He pushed his voice to a whisper. "I really shouldn't be leaving her alone like this~" He said making a very subtle head motion to the drunken Vivian.

Vivian's drunk mind seemed to slip into an even calmer stage. Taking a deep breath, the young lady tried her best to gather herself though the hormones she'd housed ran rampant. There were quite a few dirty thoughts she'd pushed into her little mind to concentrate on tasks at hand; now she couldn't get a firm hold of these impure thoughts. Viv stared at Armand, the long stare. THAT stare. She remained without words, such things escaped her. Until,"Armand you don't feel it?"
Armand tossed back yet another glass to no avail. At this point, he had probably twice as much to drink as Vivian had. The patrons of the cafe had gone home. They were just about the only ones left in the building. When the question was posed, he just shrugged. "Maybe the ever so slightest, and incredibly faint, fuzzy feeling. But that's it. I think my body just rejects and doesn't let the alcohol get through my system~" A little disappointing, but that was the price of his genetic makeup.

An whim of sadness took her. Armand wasn't having a good time like her. How unfortunate. Reaching across the table as cooly as possible, Viv made contact with his cold pale skin. Vivian wished to console him, why did she feel that he was gloomy? Maybe it was the alcohol. The bare hand touch may have cancelled his bloodline abilities, making all of the alcohol climb into his conscious. This was an assumption, what would happen next?
