Yoruko exhaled deeply; her destination had finally arrived. She held her hand into a fist against her forehead with a perturbed expression. Visualizing her new life caused her to become extremely apprehensive; she was unaccustomed to the new area and had no friends. Nonetheless, she had no where else to go. Her homeland had been overrun by poverty and drought, not to mention her parents had passed on long ago, forcing her to leave.
Yoruko stepped off of the bus biting her lip gently as she ambled towards the large building known as Doki Doki High. Ironic; her heart was palpitating rapidly at the sight of the school. She was going to have to communicate with other individuals at some point whether she was prepared to or not.

At the gates, Karen approached from the other side, being mindful to at least greet some of the students entering the school as a way to make new friends before the school year was over. The female placed her hands within the pockets of her jacket, footsteps moving rather coolly as she didn't want to make it seem like she had been running earlier. Soft exhales left her lips, mainly because she was slightly tired.

At the sight of a female, she waves towards the other as she even adds a smile to make the mood non-hostile. Last thing she needed was people accusing her of roughhousing students now, despite her personality. Seeing as the distance between the two was getting shorter, Karen finally decided that she'd be the one to speak up. Holding a hand out towards her, she finally stated;

"Welcome to Doki Doki High. I'm Karen, a senior here, what's your name?"

Yoruko trudged steadily down the stone pathway that lead to the school building. She had pledged to herself that she would communicate with at least one individual on her first day, regardless of her state of mind or her nervousness - she had to. If she didn't, she would end up becoming an outcast just like back in her homeland; she despised the thought of it. Her wings were currently gone, they would only be produced if she wanted them to. She was aware that if she summoned them, she would immediately use them to escape, so instead she tried her hardest not to use them.
Yoruko halted abruptly at the sight of a girl with hair like snow and sanguine eyes approaching her. Yoruko could immediately feel her heart beating faster than it already was. She wasn't ready for confrontation so soon. The girl was grinning at her with an amiable wave. The girl had asked her name, at this Yoruko mustered up her courage to blurt out, "M-My name is Yoruko. It's n-nice to me you..." Her words were inarticulate and wavering. She avoided eye contact with the girl and instead, fidgeted with her hands.

Yoruko. It sounded something more of japanese decent but it would be rude of Karen to assume rather than be told the facts. So instead of doing something that would basically be generic of most people she met, her smile remained before stating;
"You have a really cool name Yoruko. Are you fine with nicknames or would you like to be called Yoruko only?"

Asked Karen in a curious tone. Sure it could be seen as disrespectful sometimes to bluntly state that she preferred to call her a nickname so it was best to simply ask first. Double checking had no bad outcomes.. well most of the time of course. Seeing as the other was nervous, so a hand was placed behind her head, ruffling her hair as she figured what she could tell to the female that would calm her down.
"Is this your first year here?"

Maybe bringing up another topic would be better. Lord knows Karen had tried on her first year here but her seniors were such a pain and didn't have any manners. She wouldn't follow in their footsteps, so if anything happened, she would easily try her best to fight against it. Well with words of course.

Yoruko continued to fidget with her fingers. She was aware that this person before her was a good person... so what was she afraid of? She knew. She was most afraid of herself. She was afraid of harming others; she believed if she was more accustomed to speaking with others, that insecurity would be taken care of. Slowly, she lifted her head as her eyes shifted towards the girl's face. Yoruko found it peculiar how the girl had not introduced herself yet, instead she asked her more questions.
"O-Oh, I don't have any nicknames; if you want, you can give me o-one. I don't m-mind!" She stuttered, trying her best to produce a smile. "Th-Thank you... a-and yes, it is my first year here. I-In fact, it's my first day!" Yoruko looked directly at the girl this time. She wanted to become friends with this girl, she seemed like a pleasant girl and she was easy to communicate with.

OOC: I realized her character was kind of boring, so to spice things up I gave her a personality disorder (that's what the whole afraid of herself bit is about haha)

She didn't seem to have a nickname huh? Karen tapped her chin in thought shortly after resting her hand down from the previous action. Suppose it could be something to do with her first name or just something outta the blue. She decided the name route would be better.
"Would you be okay with the nickname Ruko? I mean if not then I can call you by your name and it'll be cool. I mean my name is Karen but my brother calls me Ren sometimes. "

She pointed out just in case the other took it the wrong way as to why Karen wanted to use a nickname. As she mentioned that it was her first year and first day, the girl's smile grew. A chuckle was made as she could remember her first year, it would probably be difficult to make friends but the superhuman was way nicer than how she started off. Yoruko was pretty lucky to be receiving this treatment from her. Two fingers help up, mainly to form a peace sign.
"Well your in luck! I've been to this school for almost 3 years now. This is actually my last year here. Hopefully you'll love this place as much as I do."

Yoruko continued to gaze at the white-haired girl; Yoruko really admired the colour of her hair, she thought it was a really beautiful, pure colour. As Yoruko summoned more courage to continue speaking with the girl, she replied, "R-Ruko?" Yoruko felt strange; she had never had a nickname before, it felt nice. A gentle smile appeared on Yoruko's lips as she looked down at the floor in embarrassment. "Yeah, I don't m-mind." Yoruko noted that the girls name was Karen, but she was nicknamed Ren. Yoruko decided it would be best to her call her Ren as she requested. "N-N-Nice to meet you R-Ren!!" She lifted her gaze once again as her heart thumped faster. Reluctantly, she held out her hand to the girl to shake hands. Yoruko realized that her hands were probably sweaty due to her timorousness; immediately, Yuroko withdrew her hand and placed it at her side once again. "S-Sorry..."

Seeing that she was okay with the nickname. The superhuman nodded with a more childish grin now. The nickname even got a snicker or two outta her. So it appeared the way they would address each other with a nickname. Karen was okay with that. She was about to reach out to shake the female's hand but with the sudden pull away, she blinked in slight surprise, not sure how to properly take it but she'd figure that making Yoruko's nerves shoot through the roof even more than her current state would be rather bad.

So instead she carefully bowed before the other, that would serve as their handshake for now then. This was a sign to show that she didn't take it to heart and that she understood.
"It's cool, first days are really nerve-racking, I totally understand that. Though after exploring a bit and meeting the right people, you'd find it's actually pretty much a relaxed environment."

"Oh gosh... I can't believe I did that..." Yoruko whispered to herself, she was used to people taking her shyness for impertinence even after she had apologized. Yoruko glaced upwards slightly to examine the girl's facial expression and to see if she was walking away. To Yoruko's astonishment, the girl was still standing there in front her. Instead, the girl bowed at her politely without a question. Yoruko's nerves calmed a little; the girl before her was extremely likeable and reassuring.
Yoruko inhaled deeply, attempting to calm her nerves even more.
"Th-Thank you." She was terrible at holding a decent conversation, so instead she tried to open up to the girl some more. She removed her headphones that concealed her elf ears and stammered the words, "I-I am a-actually an elf...y-you look human, but you're not, a-are you?" She attempted to keep eye-contact with the crimson-eyed girl.
