[PRP] A Fairy Hunt {Chroma, Chepi, Tavshed}

For being such a bulky stallion, he moved delicately and worked carefully at his very important task. Which consisted of tying flower stems together one stem at a time. One twist at a time. All done with teeth and gently holding the flower with a hoof. But the little circlet was coming along so lovely! Chroma took a moment to lower his nose to the flower bed he was relaxing in, inhaling their aromatic fragrance and sighing happily. This was one of his favorite places to be, oh yes. He completely understood why his parents loved this place!

Taking another deep breath as he finished linking all the flowers, Chroma wriggled to his feet, flicking his finished prize up over his ears. It was a little small for him, but he planned on giving it to his mom or siblings.

After a good stretch as he'd been laying on the ground for a little too long, he realized. His legs felt a little stiff and in need of a bit of exercise. Not to mention he was feeling restless and a run sounded perfect! With a laugh, the stallion reared back and took off at his fastest speed. That didn't involve getting distracted by this or that. He just laughed, jumping over a fallen log here or there, a medium sized rock, a tiny stream... the whole area was his playground.

By the time he started to slow, chest rising and falling rapidly, he felt wonderful! The day was warming to a nice temperature and really, everything was just perfect in his life!

The little filly could hardly contain her excitement at getting out and about! Though she only had one functional eye..Chepi made up for her 'lack of vision' by constantly looking around. Searching for something magical, something she'd only heard stories about until now. Apparently butterflies weren't fairies..they were just fairy messengers! Breath coming in small puffs from being over excited and with nostrils flared the pale foal rushed bravely onward through the trees. Towards a nearby meadow where flowers bloomed abundantly, where the chances of seeing a fairy would be highest..or so Chepi hoped. Paying little heed to her father's soft voice the little one hunched her pale body down in a super secret stealthy position once at the edge of the meadow. Somewhere in the distance Chepi had hear a rustling and caught glimpse of something sparkly..it made the already over stimulated filly's heart hammer harder within her small chest. "I see it..DADDY LOOK!! " Practically squealing she burst from the meadows tall grass once the glorious fairy came into view..he wasn't too close so she hoped her outburst wouldn't scare the rare creature away. Eye wide in wonderment Chepi stood stock still, for once silent and simply too awed to even squeak out another syllable. This was it. She'd found her first fairy!


Why did she have so much energy?! Rushing after the over excited little filly was difficult for the pale stallion..he hated keeping her confined to their small stretch of forest but, his own fears were so hard to forget. Even in Chepi's bright, beautiful presence..it was hard to forget the lingering shadows made by the trees. Hard to not think that danger might lurk around any corner if they weren't careful..yet somehow Tavshed had allowed himself to be dragged out into the open. Away from the safety of their cave. To find faeries. Voice barely more than a whisper the stallion nearly tripped over his own hooves in his hurry to keep up with the excitable, darling little foal. "C-chepi....w-wait.." Unable to finish the sentence he could only watch with some small measure of amusement as she hunkered down in the grass like some tiny feline preparing to pounce at a bird. However there did appear to be something or someone up ahead. Before he could react Chepi once again beat him to it and squealed something about a fairy..what? Ears flicking back in uncertainty the stallion daintily stepped forward into the open meadow..eyes taking in a rather large stallion with beautiful wings like a butterfly. Unsure or perhaps unable to speak his head lowered, mouth opening just enough to..quickly close about his daughters long tail. Giving it a firm tug he only persisted once Chepi stood sheltered beneath his not so opposing frame..she was almost too tall to be hiding in such a position but, he didn't let her move. Not yet. Tavshed felt the usual spark of fear hit him..strangers could be dangerous. What would this 'fairy' be like? Only the ticking away of time would tell.

He carefully shook his mane out, big tail floofing up even more before he got the hairs all settled again. Ears flicking backwards, Chroma blinked in surprise to hear someone else squeaking about. Normally it was himself or maybe one of his family members. But that didn't sound like anyone he knew? Glancing over his shoulder curiously, Chroma didn't see anything at first... but then there was movement and a pale form moved. And another.

Cue one overly excited bulky stallion nearly tripping over his own feet as he twisted around to prance back towards the flower field.

"HI! I haven't seen you before, are you knew here? It's so very nice to meet new faces!" He grinned, not realizing the other stallion seemed uneasy or frightened. Especially of him! That was just not a concept Chroma understood. "I'm Chroma! This is my favoritist place!" That he'd found so far. It was... painfully clear, when you spent more than a few minutes around the pale green stallion, that he'd never left 'home' much.

Blinking between the two, he smiled more, very much enjoying being around foals! And the stallion - who he assumed was the father of this foal? - was pretty. So was the filly. But he couldn't help but glance every few seconds at the stallion. "Do you like flowers?" Chroma asked them both in a mildly hushed whisper that was brimming with barely contained energy. "I do! Look, I even made a ring of flowers!" He lowered his head enough to show off his handy work.

Cheeks puffing out when the pretty fairy spoke chepi wouldn't let her father hold her back any longer. Nope. The persistent filly rushed forward towards the large male, nose sniffing at the flower crown he wore. Instantly she fired off her questions, not noticing her fathers wariness. " Do all faeries wear flowers like you? Can you fly high in the sky?!" Bouncing up as high as she could..the little one tried her hardest to see the flower crown better..and also catch a better peek at the males glorious wings. " I have wings too! They are just..just too small to see! Only magical creatures can see them, so you should be able to." Tone rather matter - of fact..Chepi walked all around Chroma, sniffing him and peeking at him from all angles till she was too dizzy to do it anymore. " I'm Chepi! That's my daddy..he's shy and can't talk much.." Ears flicking a bit sadly the filly turned to urge her father forward with a few light nudges. After all, there were no evil faeries right?


Unsure and feeling exposed Tavshed took a few light steps backwards..head turning to gently shift his precious stuffed tiger into a better position upon his back. Bau along with Chepi were the stallions reasons for living, he couldn't allow harm to come to them..even if Tav wasn't that strong. Physically and certainly not mentally. Glancing at the ring of flowers from afar..the male took into account that the big male seemed a bit goofy..almost foal like in nature. Obviously still young in body or simply young minded..perhaps both. Tavshed would have been content to hide forever behind the tree but, then came the ever persistent Chepi nudging at him and forcing the stallion out into the meadow. Right in front of the tall flutter male..oh dear. Fighting back a wince of pain he managed to murmur his name..very quietly. "T-tav..T-tavshed..." Tail flicking behind him..he let his eyes take in Chroma fully now that he was up close n personal. While foal like in nature..in speech and action..the male was so fluffy. So large and strong looking..it was hard to believe such a 'gentle giant' existed.

And then the foal was rushing towards him and almost bouncing around as much as he could and had done (especially when he was little like her). Chroma snickered, lowering his head after she tried jumping up to see his flower crown. His wings fluttered of their own accord with how gleeful he was feeling. "Fairies?" He asked, shrugged and answered her other questions. "I don't know, but I like making them for others! And I can surely fly, just not super high." Flipping his head in a rather strategic motion, Chroma tossed the flower crown from his own head to catch gently in his mouth and then place gently over the foal's head. "There! Now you have a fairy crown too!"

Mention of her having 'magical' wings had his own eyes widening a little, the bulky stallion looking this way and that way, attempting to see her wings. It finally started to dawn on him that this was probably a game. He was the fairy in her game and could see her invisible wings! "Oooh, yes! Yes they are much smaller than mine, but maybe they'll grow as you do?" Chroma grinned. "And Chepi is a wonderful name!" He gave the foal a friendly nose bump as she sniffed him all over and looked at him funny here and there. It was quite exciting meeting new soq!

He hadn't quite forgotten about the other stallion, but he'd given Chepi almost all his attention for the moment. Until she started urging her father to join them. He did seem a bit shy, like Chepi had said, but Chroma wasn't sure about the 'not talking much' part. Not until the soft voice tried to tell him his name. He was very quiet, like perhaps he didn't use his voice much? Why wouldn't someone use their voice? How else were you going to be heard!

"Tavshed...?" He tried, tilting his head to glance at the pretty stallion. "A pleasure! I'm Chroma. And your Chepi is so much fun!" Chroma added, flashing a grin down at the filly, before looking back at Tavshed. "Are the two of you just visiting? My family lives around here, but I don't see very many others." He admitted with a slight frown. "But today I have new friends!"

Ears wiggling happily the little girl gave a hop of pure delight as the crown was placed upon her head..she almost couldn't believe it. She'd not only met a magical faerie but, the fairy had given her a flower crown!! Breathless Chepi pranced around..showing off her beautiful trophy and bumping lovingly against her fathers legs till he offered a smile of his own. "Daddy he can see them! I told you they were there! He's the most magical fairy ever!!" There was nothing but pure admiration shining in the little filly's eye. Prancing off into the flowers to romp around in search of more magic..Chepi called out to her father so he wouldn't fret. "Don't worry I'll stay in sight! You stay with mister Chroma the fairy! Otherwise he might disappear.." Finding a small puddle the foal bent to peer at her own reflection..admiring her 'magic crown'.


Still on edge Tav wandered closer to Chroma..nose lowering to bump against Chepi's excited little head before he grinned at her antics. Such a bright happy foal..he was glad he'd taken her basket after that random night in the twisted tunnel of 'love'. For once in his life the stallion didn't have to be lonely..his daughter made everything nice, made life worth living. She also dragged him out on 'adventures'..to meet soquili like Chroma here. Throat burning the other spoke slowly..voice cracking every so often from the strain. " Y-yes...she...g-good.." Head ducking shyly..he shifted around uncomfortably, it was always difficult to live with the pain..to live not being able to speak properly to those he met..to his own daughter. Slowly looking back up he turned to nose at the tiger plush 'riding' on his back..At least he had Bau to bring some comfort. If only the plush could speak for him.

He smiled, watching the delight in the foal when she put the crown on her head. It made him feel equally as delighted being able to make Chepi so happy! Or anyone for that matter. His thick tail flicked lazily from side to side as he watched her prance around, offering her father a smile and a wink. Most magical fairy? Chroma's wings fluttered a little and he couldn't help but wonder if perhaps... the foal might not be too far off. He did have fairy like wings... right? "I'm glad you like it! I'd be happy to make you more." He'd definitely need to work on another one soon. Maybe Tavshed wanted one too? But they took time to make...

Laughing, Chroma tossed his head to clear his face of his long bangs. "I promise, Miss Chepi, that I will still be here when you return!" She was too much fun to leave now! Laughing softly again, he glanced at the stallion he was standing with, moving closer to chat with him. Though he kept in mind what Chepi had said before. He wondered why Tavshed didn't talk very loud, or why he didn't seem to talk much? Maybe he was scared to? Or someone had tried to steal his voice? "She is. And very adorable. I'm glad you both came by!" He offered a gentle smile to Tavshed. "It's nice getting to see someone else besides my family all the time."

Glancing to his side at Tavshed, the bigger stallion watched with open curiosity as the little tiger plush was drawn to his attention. It was so cute! And didn't bother him at all to see the stallion carrying it around. "Ooooh, who's your friend there?" He asked, tilting his head and admiring the plush. Maybe he could make a flower necklace to help keep the plush on Tavshed's back! He could work on it and next time they came by, surprise him with it! But for now, Chroma lowered his head to pluck one of the lovely flowers scattered around their hooves and very gently stuck the flower behind the tiger plush's ear. "There! Now your friend has a flower crown too!" He giggled, eyes flicking to Tavshed's. "Would you like a flower too? They are very relaxing to smell."

Still prancing about, Chepi only paid the two elder males the smallest of attentions..she figured her father the recluse could use some attention. She almost piped up and spoke for Tav but, paused instead..giggling as butterflies fluttered to look at the flowers atop her head. " Hello tiny faeries..do you like it? Mister Chroma the fairy made it just for me! You can sniff but, don't take my flowers okay?" Now lost in her own little world the filly settled upon the warm grassy ground, eye taking in the beautifully colored butterflies and all the flowers around them. This was a truly magical meadow!


Seeing that the others attention had been drawn to the plushie had his heart hammering..many found it childish or strange. Very few had ever understood the stallions love of his little plush. It was the last memory he held of his own mother..the last good memory he had before everything had changed. " B-bau.." Cheeks dusting a faint pink his head ducked once more hoofed foot 'pawing' at the ground anxiously. He didn't think it was strange? Seeing the flower so carefully tucked behind Bau's ears had Tavshed smiling more openly..though he still had that faint bit of blush hiding within his pale cheeks. "O-oh....." Did he want a flower? Head tilting some the stallion eventually gave a little nod and smile instead of a verbal response..and even lowered his head so it would be even easier for Chroma to place the flower behind his ear or within his short mane. Today had certainly taken a strange turn but, Tavshed had not felt this care-free in so very long..he just hoped his bumbling & lack of voice wouldn't ruin everything.

Chroma kept a partial eye on Chepi, smiling all the while as he watched the filly prance around. It made him quite happy to see someone else enjoy the flowers as much as he! He would happily make her more 'fairy gifts' if she enjoyed them this much, that was for sure! Still grinning, he let his gaze fall back on the quiet stallion, looking him over. But it was Bau, as Tavshed named him, that Chroma gave more attention to. It seemed the plush was rather important to him, and the bigger stallion thought it was adorable.

"Well hello to you too, Bau." He said cheerfully, grinning even more once the flower was in place. Chroma found himself rewarded with a smile from Tavshed, and it made him feel slightly giddy. He'd succeeded in making him smile! That was worth everything to Chroma. "He is most handsome, yes." He added to Tavshed, beaming when the other stallion nodded at wanting a flower too.

Chroma eagerly glanced around at all the flowers, looking for one that would look lovely with Tavshed's black and white coloring. A rather striking orange flower caught his attention, making him think of the plush upon Tavshed's back. "Perfect!" Plucking it just as delicately as before, Chroma turned towards the other stallion, smiling as he lowered his head. As gently as before, Chroma tucked the orange flower partially into his dark mane, just beside his ear. "Now you can match Bau!" He said victoriously, giving Tavshed a winning smile. Clearly his lack of voice didn't bother Chroma at all.

As the butterflies lost interest in the moving flower covered filly Chepi hopped her way back over to the two big stallions, voice chiming up from where she'd plopped within the tall grass. "Bau is a girl silly faerie! My grandma made her for papa to have for always! So he'd never be lonely.." Smiling she felt a little pang of fear...because with each passing moment the day was slipping away..and sunset would be here before they knew it. Sunset would bring a new level to Tavshed's already strange behavior. Speaking absentmindedly to herself but, still loud enough to be heard the filly sulked. "Papa will make us leave soon. He always does that. He hates the dark..but, won't tell me why. I don't wanna go home yet..."


Still all flustered and shy Tav grinned again at the flowers..turning some he gave Chroma's neck a passing nuzzle of thanks...his heart skipping a few more beats in the process. He shouldn't get too close. The stallion didn't even know if Chroma liked other stallions..and that's how Tavshed had gotten hurt in the past. How he'd been left all alone so many times. Ears pinning back at Chepi's words..the world of bright warmth faded away turning into nothing but, a cold chill that raced down the stallions spine. Grunting once his eyes darted around looking to the shadows for danger. How could he have forgotten!? Breathing coming in rapid bursts Tavshed leaned down to nudge at Chepi insistently. " D-d....d-danger-rous.." Feet lifting in a nervous sort of 'dance' he unintentionally got closer to the bigger stallion's side, eyes still focused on the shadows growing all around them.

The flutter stallion blinked at Chepi as she hopped back towards them, glancing from the filly to the plushing on Tav's back, and then back at Chepi again. And then he laughed, shaking his head to get some of his mane out of his eyes. "Ah, forgive me! She is quite beautiful none the less though! And that was a very sweet thought of your grandma." Oh yes indeed it was! Chroma gave the plush a curious look, bumping his nose gently against it to show his like of it too. He grinned at Tavshed when the stallion gave him a brief nuzzle in thanks. "A most lovely companion! Surely you must never get lonely." He said cheerfully.

Glancing down at the little mare, Chroma gave her a funny look, a slight frown forming. Why would anyone be afraid of the dark? The night sky was so lovely! And the stars.... ! He had a rather soft spot for the stars, especially since it was because of a certain star that he was here. "I don't want you to leave either." Chroma said with a pout at the filly, and glancing at Tavshed with puppy eyes. Only to notice the way his behavior had grown more stressed. It made him feel for the stallion. Something absolutely awful must have happened to him! What other explination was there for being so fearful?

"I assure you there is nothing more dangerous here then the lizards and butterflies!" He tried to reassure the other stallion, wings fluttering before drooping enough that one lightly rested against Tavshed's back. "In fact, the dark is so lovely here! With the open sky and the flowers all around. Have you ever stargazed, Miss Chepi?" He asked with renewed excitement in his voice, flashing a smile at Tav too. "Oh they are so magnificent to look at from here! Why, did you know, I was a gift from the stars?" He grinned at the filly.

Looking hopeful Chepi nuzzled into her fathers legs, trying to comfort him. "Stars? Oh oh! I've heard of them mister faerie! They are like...like..magical twinkles!! Sometimes when papa sleeps..I peek at them..from our cave but, never like this!" Throwing her father a pouty look along with Chroma, the little fillies voice rose a bit, lower lip trembling pitifully. "Please please please?? Just for a little while! Chroma is magical, he can protect us!" Seeming quite sure of the statement the foal rushed back through the flowers and grass..giggling in delight when Tavshed uneasily consented. " Yes! Thank you papa! We get to see twinkling star light!"


Feeling the gentle touch from Chroma's wing did nothing to still the stallion's ever racing heart. He so badly wanted to believe that nothing bad would happen. That the evil shadows from his past wouldn't come back to cause them harm..after all nothing had happened so far. Nostril's flaring..he felt terrible guilt when Chepi begged like that. With a shaky breath and a light nod it was agreed. They would stay for a short while. "O-okay....for..little bit.." Ears shifting he kept an attentive gaze on their surroundings before turning to gaze into Chroma's eyes " T-thanks..". Smiling sweetly even with his nervous twitching and still hammering heart beat, Tav did his best to relax against the others side. As the stars began peeking into the sky above, Chepi moved to snuggle against the two stallion's legs, smiling brightly..eyes filling with wonder as the sparkling lights. Tavshed looked wide eyed as well and gasped at how bright the moon & stars were.

Chroma laughed, giving the filly a nod. "Yes! That is a perfect description of them!" Magical indeed. He wondered if their beautiful magic would work on Tavshed? He dearly wanted the other stallion to feel comfortable here! Maybe they would like it enough that both father and daughter would come back to visit him? "Oh please do stay a bit longer?" He added into Chepi's pleading. "At least to see the stars shine bright!" And then they had Tavshed's okay and he shuffled his feet excitedly. "Fantastic!"

Shaking his head to flip his mane out of the way again, Chroma looked up towards the darkening sky with bright eyes. "I was born from a star." He told Chepi and Tav. "My parents love the joy children bring them. So they asked the special star that appears every once in a while for a special gift." Chroma winked down at Chepi as she snuggled between their legs. "The star decided to gift them with me!" He smiled, and then really grinned as the stars began to appear. "Oh look!" The once dark sky was suddenly alight with stars dotted all over the sky and the moon rose slowly to replace the sun. Chroma didn't say anything else, letting his two new friends enjoy the sight for the first time.

"It's magical... isn't it?" He murmured, so very happy that Tavshed and Chepi were here to enjoy it with him.
