Ferrel nodded and went to the cave opening. "I'll come back once I'm confedent that Tora will be able to control her new urg es so you can give me my next task." he said before turning back to the world outside. He took a deep breath through his nose hunting for Ravens scent mingled with anothers and when he found the source, he sprang into the trees to meet her.

Ferrel found the tree house and lept up to its door. He could smell the girl inside but instead of barging in and risking startleing the young one he knocked and said "Tora, I am Ferrel. Raven sent me to guide you into your new life." he looked down at his bottle and added "If your new cravings are feirce I may have something to take the edge away." he opened the door carefully unsure what he'd find. Sometimes newborn vampires could be in a frenzy, if this was the case he'd have to restrain her and find her a fresher meal.

An irritated snarl.

"Who is it?! What do you--"

Tora's eyes widened slightly at the sight of Ferrel. She quickly tried wiping her mouth. It was covered in the blood of some unfortunate creature.

"I...I can explain!"

Ferrel grinned at her. "No need to explain, I remember how strong the first thrist was." he said shaking his head. He held out the bottle to Tora "Here, drink your fill, you have much to learn before dawn. We cant have the hunger distracting you."

She took it and drank from it, and let out a sigh of relief.

"T-Thanks...so you've been through this before, right?"

The wind howled gently through the forest that night, shifting the leaves and causing the branches of the tallest trees to groan in protest against each caress delivered by nature. The shadows churned and writhed in the low ache of moonlight which shone brilliantly from above, lining the edges of the clouds in silver thread. From the otherwise lifeless night stepped a form, his eyes carefully scanning the woods as he sought out his destination. From overhead the lonely call of a crow echoed, low and haunting. The males eyes snapped upward as it soared over and ahead of him then vanished into the inky darkness. His stride remained calm and full of purpose. Another call echoed, closer this time and soon, as Kale stepped through a dense area of shrub and into a more open area, his eyes lifted to spy the crow perched contentedly upon a rock at the mouth of the cave. The scent of more than one Gangrel caught him sharply and he paused for a moment to consider what may have been in store. Kale was not one to panic, he'd been around far too long to lose his head at the drop of a hat. The crow was away in a flurry of feathers and raucous caws as he crossed the threshold and stepped into the mouth of the cave. This new Elder had been making great strides in helping the clan gain strength and he had to admit he was more than a little interested as to the reason he had been summoned.

Like with anyone who comes near her cave or home, Raven knows he's there before a word has been said. Right now she is alone in her cave, waiting for him to join her. Having made a point to know the scents and sounds of all of 'her' clan, she knows who it is already. "Come in Kale, do hurry. I tire of waiting and wish to hunt soon. I'll let you get back to your solitude soon enough." When ever he enters her cave he will see she has a 'professional smile' on her face. Raven takes clan business very seriously. "I've heard good things about you Kale. I've been watching you, I agree with what I hear. Tell me, would you like to move up in this clan?"

((Surprise! Sy has granted permission for Raven to make Kale an elder if you/he want it.))

Kale's eyes adjusted to the light within the cave swiftly and he took in his surroundings with a swift sweep of his luminous golden gaze. He was a large male but not giant, quite normal in height and build though ages of hunting, and a good dose of vampiric blood, had crafted his body into a solid, hunting machine of a creature. He inclined his head respectfully towards his elder in deference and recognition of her standing within the clan. "Forgive the delay in my appearance." He gave no excuses, it wasn't in his nature to explain himself though he knew enough to show respect where it was due. His ears perked momentarily as she spoke and he watched her carefully, as if studying not only her demeanor but her nuances in order to get a better grasp of her.

Good things, hmm? He preferred to keep himself out of the limelight but he supposed that eons of knocking young upstarts heads together at Gatherings had some value to the clan though he'd never considered he would receive such a proposition from his Elders, especially when he was so far removed from clan politics. This feeling was also the nature of the Gangrel. To stay out of politics unless it was within their own clan and this newest Elder appeared to know what she was doing, he had a feeling she would do well by the clan. "If you have faith in me to handle more of the clans affairs I would be honored." Was his only reply. He wasn't quite certain what he was getting into but he felt he would be ready to take on any challenge cast his way.

"You're forgiven. I do." The first is to his first statement and the latter to his answer. "You've been with the clan a long time, like me. You don't get clouded by residual mortal emotions like some, I value that." Being a born vampire herself Raven has little patience for mortal emotions. "We need fresh leadership to run this clan. Not to mention I can't embrace everyone myself." She smiles very slightly at this. "We need a second elder that won't take his solitude to the extreme of not being here for the clan. And for that, I've chosen you. Do you know what being an elder entails?" She isn't one to assume what others know or don't know. Especially with one who's been around for so long.

The male listened closely as his Elder spoke and appeared to be considering everything as she continued. His frame was completely still making him appear almost statuesque within her home, more like a piece of stone art than a fellow member of the undead world. As she finished he finally moved to speak. "I have witnessed other Elders through the ages but know only of the responsibilities they maintain while at gatherings. The other side of the coin, I'm afraid, is not within my knowledge. But I am a quick learner."

"We keep an eye on the clan, keep them in line if need be, and do the embracing. We're the active leadership of the clan. Or are suppose to be. Reclusive or not, we make decisions together; when possible. At this time it's you and me alone. But we will do just fine. I have someone in mind to replace you as the only active Ancillae, and I moved someone up to Neonate. We have some young looking to join their parent's clan too." Being he is now an elder she is filling him in on clan business.

Kale nodded as he was filled in on what was expected of him and each task appeared to be within his abilities. Kale hadn't lied, he was a fast learner, and he would be able to easily adjust once he was completely filled in and shown what he needed in order to take up his post as the clans newest Elder. "I gratefully accept your offer. I will not fail the Gangrel." He inclined his head to show his acceptance before those bright golden orbs of his danced up to consider her mention of the newest additions and the ascending clan members. Kale knew clan members far and wide, perhaps not on a personal level in most cases but he knew of them, many simply their names and others by where they hunted or slept or even by the animalistic body modifications they had suffered from frenzy. Some you hardly noticed, like himself, others you could hardly recognized any longer.

Raven gives a very light smile at his acceptance. "I have faith in you. Ferral is the new neonate, he's off making sure the newest fledglings understand the masquerade. As I'm sure you know I embraced five mortals recently. I plan on moving Dusk Spettro up to Ancillae today. She's expected after you. I wished to move you up before having her take the rank. Two of her boys and her nephew Luca are initiates. Word is they were waiting for an active elder to embrace them into the clan. Well, that's going to be us. If they still choose it. What are your thoughts on Ferral, Dusk, Luca, Midnight, and Desert?"

((Midnight and Desert Wolven are two of Dusk's young, Luca is Honey Spettro's son. Those three boys and Dusk belong to Hope. Ferral is Sox's and is posted int his thread already.))

Raven is once again in her cave to conduct some business. Some of 'her' clan members have no ranking for some reason. Or at least no one seems to know what rank it is. Quietly calling out to those clan members she waits for each one to find a moment in the night to come to her. If they truly have no ranking then she will find the perfect place for them. Everyone has a place within the clan.
