User ImageDid I ever tell you about the two ancient kingdoms of Perth and Nu?

No

Well, you see, a long time ago--thousands of years ago--, pokemon never evolved.

Really?

Yes. They stayed as they were forever. And they didn't have incredibly strong abilities either. They learned amazing moves from very powerful warlocks and casters. Humans with magical abilities that were called: Birkita. It was said that the Birikita could do anything; from conjuring storms or sewing one hundred fields ready to harvest the next day, to even turning into pokemon themselves.

Wow!

And the most powerful Birkita ruled as kings and queens; back when all the continents were one. But as the Birkita grew apart, so did the land, and made the continents and islands today.

Above all the Birkita, two kingdoms in particular, loved pokemon. Especially the prince of Perth and princess of Nu. Even though they were in separate kingdoms, they would use their powers to make a road that could take them anywhere, and created a tower so pure, it looked like light came from it. They would make time slow down so they could play together with pokemon even longer.

One day they noticed something: Sunkern seemed very sad. It wanted to run with the other pokemon and jump so much more! Feeling for the pokemon, the prince Rei carved out a stone in the shape of the sun. He poured magic into it and let it settle into the stone near the sunflowers in their hide away. And when he gave the sun stone to sunkern, it evolved into sunflora! Sunflora was so happy. It could now follow and play with all of its friends. Although, Rei had a bad habit of leaving a mess, and the shards from the stone he had cut and carved slowly grew into more sun stones! The pokemon were happy. Now they had a way of growing and becoming something new, and the prince began to carve more and more stones for the pokemon.

However, the stones didn't always work. Bagon wanted to grow wings and play with its friends who could already fly, but there was no stone for that. Princess Caoimhe felt sorry for the little pokemon, and taught it magic. In time, it learned amazing moves like sunny day and flame thrower. And all the love it shared with the prince and princess and all its hard work it put into learning magic allowed it to evolve on its own. And soon, other pokemon began to learn magic too and evolved on their own.

Both the prince and princess were delighted, and began to craft even more things to help the pokemon grow, like the dragon scale. at somepoint, they wanted to create pokemon themselves. Pokemon that could either evolve by learning magic, or with a stone. Eevee was born. They were so proud that they could now create new and amazing friends, they wanted to show their families. No Birkita had ever made a pokemon before, and were happy at the wonderful things their children could do.

Aohd was a very powerful Birkita, who used dark and forbidden magic. He gave away his soul to create a new breed of pokemon: Ghost and dark pokemon. He declared war with the other kingdoms and pinned Perth and Nu against eachother.

What happened then?

The two kingdoms fought, using pokemon as weapons, while Rei and Caoimhe hid away from the war. They were so sad, and had no pokemon friends to play with them any more. For a long time, no one noticed they were missing. In their secret castle, They tried to make a pokemon that would be able to stop the fighting. They created pokemon like celebi and Jjrachi, manapi and victini first. But these small pokemon alone would not be able to stop all the fighting. The went on to create pokemon like moltres and suicoone, but that still was not enough. They made Ho-oh and lugia, azelf and regirock. But these duo's and guardians were not powerful enough yet.

And while the prince and princess searched to create a pokemon hero, Aohd created pokemon like kabuto and aerodactile. And then came his most fearsome creations: kyogre and groudon. One he gave to the king of Nu, and one he gave to the king of Perth. "To help you become victorious" he told each of them. And created, in secret, the Kami trio for himself. And his ultimate weapon, Darkrai, soon followed.

The prince and princess created every kind of knightly pokemon they could think of. But they were running out of time. A last effort allowed them to create just four more: Two of the sea, and two of the beyond. Rei, created a knight which he called Deoxys and a loyal protector that he called Latios. Caoimhe created a dragon, which she called Rayquaza and a loyal protector which she named Latias.

It would be the duty of Rayquaza to calm the feud between their families, and the duty of Deoxys to unite all their creation and stop the war. The duty of Latios and Latias, however, was to guide and help them to defeat Aohd.

It was a terrible battle. In the fight, Rei and Caoimhe gave up their lives to lock away Aohd's power. But as they were died, so did latios and latias. Waking to this, arceus, creator of worlds and of pokemon wondered about the two human Birkita who died for pokemon. In charity, he granted their souls to have one hour more on earth to say goodbye.
Their parents wept. "Is there nothing we can do?" they asked their children.

Give us one last gift, They said. Bring back our loyal protectors: Latios and Latias. Give them your power, so that when one dies, two may take its place.

To honor their children's final request, they gave up all magic as their beloved prince and princess departed from their world for the final time. Their pokemon shared the same sadness, even those who were not created by arceus or the prince and princess. Having a heart to weigh on them, Rei and Caoimhe allowed them to remain in the world to roam freely. To the pokemon who felt no remorse about the battle, they were sealed away like their creator.

In grieving, rayquaza and deoxys left for the stars, trying to follow the humans who loved them most of all. Jirachi, fell into a slumber with no friend to keep it awake. But it was celebi who put the kingdoms into an eternal slumber, keeping time still as the city was lost from the rest of the world. This would ensure no more fighting.

Pleased at the humans' final request, arceus gave them a new life as the guardians of time and space; leaving azelf, uxie and mesprit to keep their tale a secret from Aohd--if ever he should awaken. The other final creations, each decided to watch over the world, to prevent another pokemon war from hapening.

But what does that have to do with Adell?
Do You know those mountains to the east of the region?
Yes.
On the other side is a desert. But it wasn't always like that.
What was it?

Chapter 6: Burning Heart

... She was not the first, though certainly not the last. Caomhe refused her father's wedding arrangements. "I cannot and will not!" With power so great, it refused wedding ties to touch her. That their nations might be stayed off at their boarders, moving her home would not move her heart. A continent away or a world away, there was no power that could further isolate her. "I refuse to marry a man picked out. One who cannot hope to love me, but possess me and my power. None shall take mine for themselves. And so I have spoken." She stepped up, bathing in the morning's light. In a cold and honor-bound kingdom, her heart was a blaze of brilliance and courage. The princess was not one to be locked away like a powerless common girl. For when the land called upon her in the years before, she remembered the love she felt in that single day (and all the days that followed) and healed the land her family cherished.

The people would still recall a small girl standing atop a mountain, burned to ash, and in feeling her love she drew a lotus into the ash. A single tear and a warm breath sprouted the first flower. And it spoke in the tiniest whisper that none would hear. Caomhe had heard its wish, and in her power, granted it in exchange for its growth to spread. The gray turned green, and life began in her light, and a tiny tree blossomed from that flower. The girl was crowned a princess, treated like an angel, and worshiped as a goddess. Her temple was erected, and the tree stood centered in the beauty of the craftsmanship.

No man without his own power could contest for the hand of a goddess. "The lands of ice and fire must not be allowed to be so separate. For the love I have in all things came from a small flame; a boy, not yet a man. That our countries be divided is only tormenting my heart... It is as cruel as separating our own people for the sake of lords."

Chapter 13: Return to Innocents

...

There was nothing to break her illness. The lady Calantha was dying. Hi greatest love could not be saved by any herb, nor potion, nor talisman, nor spell. And he wept by her bed side. Chasing her smile for all these years, his only love was fading from him. He pursued her adoration in pokemon, chased her dreams of creating a likeness from them. He was so close. So close to closing their gap for her, uniting them across the world as she had hoped. But he was always missing something... Was this the price of his sins? The price one pays in the one taboo within magic? A toll for attempting to create life. This was something he could never accept! Never! "God in heaven... Hear my prays," He begged any voice to listen. "Do not take her from me! You cannot take her from me!" And he wept. "She is the one light. The life that has given me purpose, she is the life within Dunn! You cannot take her!"

"My love..." The lady awoke with a weak and weary tone. Her arms reached out for his face, her fingers cold, and her touch far too light to be held long. But upon her face... Her smile. And dying eyes. "Do not weep... my love... I shall always be with you... if you will keep me... in your heart..."

"Nothing can take your place in my heart," He poclaimed, holding onto her tiny and fragile hand. "I will give you my heart, strait from my chest, if you will stay!"

"I can hear him... The first one... the last one... And I hear all their voices... My love... we are not so different after all... All things must die... All things must live... My love... Live..." The smallest laugh left her, the sun began to rise, and her body faded away to release her soul; a pure soul. He was left alone, with only the glimmer of her essence leaving to ascend into the mountain. From it, bloomed the morning glory and the day lilly and the peach blossoms. But had he looked with eyes unclouded by hate, had he seen clearly, he would have known. But he wept.

The tree that had sprouted, but never bloomed. The resting place of Calantha's soul had begun to grow, consuming the peak of the mountain and reaching for the heaven with a song in its leaves. A voice called out from it: the first ancestor was born again from a pure soul. The lady Calantha had died; and a sould so gentle and kind gave life to a different creation.

Mew...

It rang for noon! The tower shrieked in a low grumble, metal screeching, wood creaking, brick breaking, while the hands of time were forced back.
Celebi woke, feeling the rift. But from where? Time was falling apart. No... Time was dying! The past and the future were converging right now! But where was it going? The source? Where was the source!? When the bells rang in a loud and ominous echo, celebi turned. It's home! It's first home! The place of its birth, and love. It hurried to protect it, there at the east wing to try and stop it!
Its first thought was lightscreen, but to no avail. Time didn't care for such a trifle move. Then it cried out with protect, expanding it as far as its psychic power would let it! The tower, the sleeping quarters, but unable to cover everything...
Time was dying, torn apart at the seams! And Celebi held out as best it could until the end! The building began to decay and crumble, shrink and age into ruin--what little Celebi could save. Its strangth was sapped, its eyes heavy, and its calls to the other of its kind before it went unanswered as though there were never another of its kind. With the last it could muster, it found some place warm, someplace familiar, someplace where it might just be safe.

The ?????? thread has been changed to where our plot takes place next! More than ten thousand years in the past!
eek

Pokemon centers and pokemarts are not available in this primitive setting. Should your pokemon become hurt or ill, it is up to your own skill or the skill of a surviving teacher (if you can find them) to aid the pokemon. However, any inventory you had in your dorm before now is still with you, but bare in mind that what survived of the academy is quickly deteriorating.

Pokemon with the ability Pick Up cannot pick up man made items (rare candies, potions, vitamins, status postions, pokeballs, ect) however, all natural items chance pick ups are tripled.

Trainers cannot retrieve pokemon sent in storage or the day care. However, all pokemon captured hence forth may stay on the trainer and level up the same as if the trainer had 6 (now able to have 7+). Keep your inventory in mind! Catching beyond your capacity is not accepted--there were plenty of reminders before now to stock up on your inventory!

There are no towers or satellites to give signal for electronic communication. Cell phones, radios, and so on can neither receive nor transmit any information or communication.

Come and go characters were not saved (in plot) to be brought back with what little Celebi could protect.
Said characters will be placed back at the closing of the plot.

User ImageAnnie had made it out, dressed in filthy and ripped loose cloths (the first things she could grab and go with. Celebi stayed wrapped in her arms, feverish and breathing hard. Students emerged, slowly, but she recognized every last one of them: they were all from class E. Why just the one class? Where had the others gone? They couldn't have just disappeared!

Soft sounds came from a small distance away, distracting the confused headmistress (formerly, probably). A small group of richly robbed men walked on in pleasant chatter and laughter. It took a moment for Annie to realize there were women among them, all speaking a foreign language. "Stay together and wait here," She instructed those who survived... whatever just happened! The school was in ruin again, and where was the lake or the town? It was as though the forest had reclaimed everything! "Wait! Please!" She limped over, calling out to them. All at once they fell silent, finally taking notice of the tattered group. "Please," She said. "Can you tell us where we are?" At the very least, knowing where they were would give them some idea of what might have happened.

For a moment, they looked at the lost group of children and teachers, leaning to each other and muttering before the (assuming) leader stumbled at first to speak in a better known language. "It appears that your fortress's spectral stones have run dry," He said, as though they were supposed to all understand.

"Spectral... stones...?"

His face changed, and he realized these savages were even more hopeless than anticipated. "Yes," He said in a more annoyed tone, walking to a small tree and forming it into his own chair to sit upon. "Whoever your birkita was left you some reserve of magic to keep your fortress in tact for... whatever it was you were doing. Why are we speaking in this gutteral language?"

"Gutter... It's one of the most common languages in the world." Annie felt offense in the stranger's tone, but was more awed at how he transformed the bush-like tree into a piece of furniture. "You seem to speak it perfectly well yourself."

"Not at all. My own magic allows translations to be made. Though this tongue is something barbaric. But any young Birkita can still manage a simple trick like this."

"Birkita, what is that?"

He remained silent a moment. "Barbarians..." He muttered almost unaudibly. "Those with etherial powers. Casting fire, shape shifting, moving land masses, changing weather, commanding the seen and the unseen. From where do you hail?"

"F-from Adell. In the Phior region." Annie seemed only more and more confused.

The man laughed. "Poor child, I've never heard of such place!" Never heard of? Where were they that he'd never heard of Adell or its academy? "You are in the realm of four kings. Though, in truth, there has not been a fourth in some time. The tyrants mind their own, and leave Xanthus to its own. It tends to be the least occupied of Birkita. We are, after all, a dying breed these past few hundred years."

"And... What exactly is the date, today? This year?" When the man spoke again to answer, her face grew pale. They'd been sent back in time; back more than ten thousand years.

"If you want my advice, barbarian, --and I only give it once--dress more tastefully and speak in the gods' tongue. As of now, you're as horrible as those savages from the east! Not a welcome sight to the Lady of Fire, if ever you wish to gain entry into the Palace of Embers." He got up, not even bothering to shift back the tree he'd bent into his seat, and flipped the ends of his robe before speaking Greek to his company and leaving them. He'd done his charitable deed of the day.

Annie held onto Celebi even tighter. This was Gavin's legend. And like her bold nephew, it'd tried so hard to shield them from harm. Now it lay sleeping and sick. What could they do now? Where were they supposed to go? How were they supposed to live? Adapt? Where? How!?

"The temples usually provide relief, and without discriminating against... your people. The nearest is the Ziggurat of Xanthus. The next nearest is little more than one hundred miles north." He called back. "And try not to get yourselves executed before winter! I have a lot to do for my Lady, and I hate to miss barbarians face the pits!" Whether the last was genuine or mockery, Annie felt at her lowest point. No friends, no allies, and no influence was on her side. Now how was she supposed to protect the people behind her...? She didn't even speak the "native" language.

In the final fight battle, people and pokemon united to save their world. As humans plead for help, pokemon rose to the occasion and fought side by side. Against Aohd's army of darkness, his magic waned as they fell...

"How... How can it be?" He ground his teeth. "They were supposed to tear this world asunder! Hatred!"

"Because you're weak..." Villon's soul, trapped within, tells him weakly, having accepted his fate to die from his lust for power. "Without love, you're weak. And that's why you'll lose. Why we'll always lose."

"You...! You know nothing!" Aohd growls.

"There's a couple of 'em down there... No matter how hard I try, I can't beat 'em. And if I couldn't, then neither will you."

The tides turned as Villon's own pokemon fought with our heroes, a last effort to save their master--a last act of love before going down in flames.

as the world around him falls, judgment emerges. Yvitle ascends from the shadows, and silhouettes of every legend stand for Aohd's trial. The verdict: Guilty. In a single sweep, the pokemon rips Aohd's soul from Villon's body--screams of agony shouted--and swallows it whole. The battle slows to a halt, and victory is had.

When the dust of war settled, the prince of ice and princess of embers were given a proper public burial. Under the half moon. In the next full moon, dialga and palkia amplify Celebi's power and open the portal back to our heroes' time line. Last good byes are given before the return home: under the oak.

Old lady cat finds everyone by chance, dressed in ancient apparel. Surprised, she asked what happened. Annie smiles and says, simply: "It's really quite the story. One for the history books."
