How long does it take for RP days to go by versus RP days? Or are you just gonna continue doing what you did in the maul thread so we know?

We don't know yet; this is all a feeling-out process at the moment. We do want to try to prevent 'infinite days,' where people have lost purpose to their rping and are just giving one-sentence replies to stay engaged. So if it seems like the rp needs a 'nudge' to reach a conclusion and move on to the next step, we'll intervene like we did in the Maul thread.

Bear in mind that we're trying to tell a meta-story threaded into your roleplaying and we're really only at the very beginning of that story. Things are a bit slow and we haven't given anyone a deliberate direction to take their characters yet. As we ramp up and more plot points get dropped on you, you will all have more outer stimuli to react to and it will help inform the direction of your roleplay better.

In other words: we're still under construction, bear with us as we get used to this new way of rping. 3nodding

I'll also note that the Dorms will be open by the weekend, which should give you all a 'destination' to return to after events happen.

We're trying to encourage some more in-depth rping from you guys, giving descriptions and describing reactions rather than just they "Says something, makes motion, waits for response" type of one-sentence rping you may see elsewhere. Knowing that you don't have an infinite amount of time to spend on one day we're hoping will help encourage that.

Give us some feedback if it's not working for you, like I said, this is a new experience for us all.

I understand, thank you for all you're doing for the guild. 3nodding I know this doesn't matter, but I kinda like the way we RP in comments and stuff better. But, this is a new experience, and I like it.

But yay for day end. I was starting to reach a point where I was starting to find continuity unravelling thanks to forum rp taking place day 1 and towns rp taking place in real time.
My brain NEEDS continuity, i've told you all i'm absolutely insane right?

I'd LOVE to see more inclusive interaction, within reason of course. Hopefully once we have dorms set up and the scaremester starts we'll start seeing some more mixing of the student body.

If it seems like the rp is holding things up, we'll intervene, but I'm kind of hoping people will develop a natural ebb and flow to roleplaying as well. Once things get more active, I'm pretty sure we'll see people moving towards a 'days end' when it makes logical sense.

Our last rp (and when I say 'our,' by the way, I'm referring to Glen, Hellene and I who all are irl friends who were in the same superhero roleplay guild here on Gaia before becoming interested in Monster High) had mostly zero 'GM' intervention, and at some points it became problematic, but for the most part people fell into the rhythm pretty well. That will happen here as people get more comfortable.

That will definitely happen and we're going to mix up who rooms with who to help foster that. We'll also probably see some more ancillary threads set up that make rping sense. For example, we might have a 'Coffin Bean' thread for kids to hang out after-school or after-hours, and a couple characters who live at home and not in the dorms may have good arguments for setting up threads for their homes. We don't want everyone to have a 'home' thread, though, since that seems kind of redundant.

Only new aspect for me here is the days part, as previously we've worked on "real time" rp where once someone goes to bed, their character leaves (works only in chat based rp, not forums where it's just odd to have people coming and going so rapidly) and a veeery long sea voyage where it didn't matter when it was lol. I miss that rp, it was fun once they ended up shipwrecked.. ahem.

But i'm sure we can self moderate in that respect. "this is flagging, i can't think of anything more to do, let's call it a day. End chapter" as it were.

There already is; it's just that no one's posted there yet. If you've read the Ghoulfriends Forever books (which I really recommend for MH rp, they are light reads and give you a lot of worldbuilding they just don't have time for in the webisodes or CGI specials), you'll already have an idea of how the Doomitory works.

I think they're on Amazon. I've been tempted before but I never get much chance to read with crazy children crawling all over me when I pick up a book. Eugh. Maybe check library? hahah, hey, you might get lucky.
