Week Later

Sonja would admit that perhpes asking Cicero to stay with her at night was as risky as it was unconfrontable. He never voiced anything on his end but she had picked up once she gained more awareness that he was unconfrontable with the nightly contact. He simply laid in the bed with her till he deamed her totally gone than left. Fortunatly he hadnt been discovered by th gaurds yet, that would get messy. At one point she snuck into Zev's room despite being sore and graug just to see him.
"So I know we are oh so wounded and are oh so delcate right now but I gfured we deserved alittle private treat." Tecnially Ciceor had gotten it for her but she wante to share it. "High Rock's premium arbor ale" she held it up with a triumpthent glema and smirkt to her.

Vlkas still hadnt gone back nd as far as h could tell no one back home evne noticed he was gone. Agaist all better judgment he did an errand for Alva, a simple thing that gave him some extra incoe. Presently he wasnt even feeling like .. himself a Compaion anymore. In truth he hant felt that way for months.
Alva had asked him to come to an adress and once more agianst hsi better judment he found himself ther. What got him was that it was a home residence. He debated for about ten secons before knockign and said elf answered. "If this is a dinner date I'm not interested." he said before thinking noting she was not in her armor but in casual clothes.

"I dont care how premiem it is as long as its strong" Zevsaid sitting up, doing that hurt more than he could describe but atlest the beast blood ment he was healing faster than someone who dosent have it. didnt mean he was still imune to pain though. he took a big swig of the Ale and it did tast good, and not only that it should help num him a little to what he was feeling.
"well lets hope we never have to do anything like that again" he could live with saving the world only once and now he hoped he could jest get on with his life. "how are you feeling, no ones told me much of how your doing other than 'shes better then last week' it really gets on my nervs"
Why would they try to not let him know how his friend was doing though he figured that they wouldent tell her much about him ether, they probely wanted the two of them jest to focise on getting better and not worry about much else. only to Zev atleast that was making him worry about Sonja much more by not letting him know what her condition was.

"I didnt think Nords did dinner dates" Alva said with a little smirk, Honeyside was not exactly the biggest house in Riften but it suted her jest fine, and it was praticely a steal as well, more of a gift from Mayven for always doing a good job. "i figured you wouldent want to stay at the inn any longer....well that and youve had the 'im a lost little puppy' look on your face for about a week now and its getting annoying" she said walking back into the house.
she had on some simple casual cloths and she didnt have the war paint on that she would usaly ware when she was out. why after all this was her home so she didnt need to be like that all the time. " and you havent been as fun ether so ether spill what in Obliven is going on with you or i think its time i find me someone else to entertane myself with"

Sonja took a long drink before answering. "About as well as you, dragged myslef in hear and will give my nurse the heartattack of the era but think tha'ts a fair trade." Sitting or laying ont he bed was such a welcom relife she wondred if she'd even make it back to her room. "Bsides I love revesing things, the girl sneaking into the boys' room kinda funny." She laughed htough it was pained. "As for saving the world a seocnd time? Think I'll pass once was more than enough for me also the hero mantle looks so much better on you than me."

Vilkas rolled his eyes but didn't deny it. "Nothings wrong exaclty just bored." He shrugged and debated on his suddne burst of honesty to her he shoved it away to consder later while not makignhimself confotnable and chose to just lena ont he wall, though she was right the Inn had started to get on his nerves or maybe it was just th people.

"But your better with the partys, i never how how to act at those things" now a party at Jerrvasgr he could handle, those were drinking and fighting those he could handle. "iv hurd that every hold wants to throw one in our honer now, though with the fact that everyone gets to keep living i think there jest happy" though he wasent sure if those party would happen but rumers did get around.
"Ill tell you i cant wait to get out of here though and not be in pain when i walk." He wanted to jest get back to a normal life and live without to many people bothering him.

"and your not running back to your little pack" That was Odd but Alva wasent going to really complane about it. "my my what could have happened i wonder" What ever it was she didnt care all that much. not really but well she liked to press Vilkas to see how far she could push him. "your being honest what is odd and no fun, so what ever it is get it off your chest because you are really off your game, a blind mudcrab could see that"

"Partys are a battlefield all their own I"m afraid. The differance is the Game words are swords and can cut far deeper. This party however people will be angeling but this is more a celebration of life and goodwill." She shrugged in her sidelong position on his bed. She curled her legs, still bruised and sore, up to her stomache and she still found it strange to have her legs bare with the nightshirt she was wearng. Truely she was uneasy witht he idea of this celebration but delcining would be rude and cause suspicion she needed to remove as much as possilbe from herself. "So how are you and that Nord doing? I've noticed him visitng you everyday." she siled up at him. Thogh it was ccero that had cuaght on told her.

"only with you." Vilkas debated on engaging in a verbal battle with her but lacked the true wat for i. "Nothng odd or going on at least nothing I'd ell you about." There that was a bit more normal. He noted tat her home did look nice and he could pick up the scents of mutliple peole but thy were faint, passing threw. "So you ask me over just to hceck in on you? So unlike you Theif. Your goig to make me think your concenered." Wait there it was the little spark of normacy between them.

Zev took another long swig of the ale, it helped num the pain. He didnt know how much of his body was brused but he was sure that most of it was at this point. He wasent expecting Sonja to ask about Farkas though, "Well were shild brothers, and hes jest concerned " he said blushing a little. It was nice to have him viset though. "and i do need to know whats going on with the companions" and apperntly Vilkas has dissapered again what did have him worried. But he was jest going to have to trust that Vilkas can take care of himself.

Now thate was a little bite that Alva got used to. "Please your the most fun iv had in years i dont want you getting soft on me is all" the normacy was nice but there was always more to be done a thifes work was never done after all. "and more than jest checking your giving me an Allaby right now as well" she needed to have someone to prove she was here at this time while another one of her thifes pulled a hist, It was jest a extra precotion "after all most of the people will belive one of the great companions if he says he was with me."

"You need to shave, your startng to look like a hobo." She commented after a few minutes of silance of them takign turn drinking. She had crawled in under the blankets with him for warmth, neither thinking anything of it. "Besides as tired and weak as my magic is right now I"ve managed to pump a few weak helaing spell nto my body" 'Well Cicero helped.'[ Went unsaid. "Want a dossage?" She aske dholding her hand up dantily, slightly bent at the writst and ttled downward.

"Nice. Vilaks snortd but gve no outter indicationt hat he was upset. "Of course I could always just say that I never saw you and see what happens." The house had a sicey sent to it, herbbs and the like, which made him catch the unmistakable sent of meat. "You bring your kills here?" He asked suddenly.

Zev laughed "I know, im starting to look like my father, he had quite a beard on him" he joked. hopefluy he would be able to shave soon he didnt like the feel of a beard. "save your magic, Farkas said he was going to try and get some healing potions for me so that should be more than enough" he can live with that, he didnt want to exaust Sonja of what little magic she might have left.
"So what about you, anyone come to see you" he asked meaning he wanted to know if Cicero was comeing to see her, he still didnt know why she hung around with him but he was not to trusting of him, he was off in more than one way.

"considering its the middle of the day and people going in and out og the market saw you comeing this way. " She knew how to make sure people saw him get there.
"Some of them, I smoke and seasion them downstears." She said, she knew that look and he could guess that he wanted to try some. "if you want some all you have to do is ask, I also make some mead once and a while, usaly when i get spices from Vallinwood ill make a batch"

That Night

"Your sure you don't mind this?" Perheps she should have asked him this a week ago but the first few nights she hand't really thaught to clealry. she was still debating if she was evne feeling clelary right now in turth. She was curled up next to Cicero, whoms he coudl feel now had grown inceasing disconfrot with each night, while sh ued him as a source of heat. "Realized I hadn't ever asked you if this was okay so better late than nver I guess." He made a point of always being over the covers never under them where he might come into far closer contact with her. Perhpes she was curleed and clinging far to childishly to hm but she found herself the last week in her weakened state desperate for a sense of contorled safety and stablity. Oddly he gave her that.
She could feel his tenseing body against hers and knew he was exerting a lot of self contorlt oobey er request her. Perhpes she was pushing her luck being both na weakened sate and her positon but she used hm as a pillow and she could liteally feel him staing with an inpulse. "Anthing good?"

Vilkas should hae thaught this threw, but he had dided prior to this that he had already. Te bandits had been less than a worthy pray for him but they suited is need of a chce and a kill.
Sadly everything else aobut them was less to par.
It was only after yanking hsi sowrd from the dead body that e noted her presence. "Want something else do you?" He had picked up on her fallowing him when he flet but had chosen to ignroe her until she chose to show herself.

Cicero tenced yes, it was strange not to have a blade out while contacting someone. "Oh Listener ordered so Cicero has to" he said despite not really likeing it he had to because that was his job, his job was to do as Sonja said because as Keeper he needed to keep them all safe, well the nightmother anyway, though theres so few of them right now they litterly were sharing duties at the moment.
"Ciceros comfert isent important no no not at all as long as the listener is happy" he really wanted to leave, he would wait till she fell asleep like always and then he would leave like he always dose.

Alva looked threw the now usless satchels of the bandets. "Well you tent to leave a lot of good loot behind" she said "Why let it go to wast" she pulled out a neckless, not worth much but a little polish and she could sell it for triple to some fool that made his wife upset.
"and to watch you ofcorse." she said with a sruge "youe strugling, and i would hate to see your go farel. though if you do a clean shot will make sure you dont suffer for long"

She wanted to ask further but somehow knew he wouldnt answer trufully he masked everthing by professional barrier and never inklining ot his own opinions on anything. Save for his dislike of someone othe rhtan that.. you never knew his true intentions. Despite that and knowing the concern she should be feeling she found she didn't care right than. She foudn more confrot in his physical presence than she did in his potential hones topinions.
"Your weird you know that?" she asked while pulling herslef closer becuase she was cold. That time she really felt hism stiffen and shift unconfrotnably. Oh yes she could tell he was veyr unhappy witht his.

Vilkas had to consder if she had just flirted for real with him right thre or not. There was flirting yes but it was just a ruse nothing deep or anything. That one sounded almost real. "You flatter me." Was all he could bring himself to say Aela had said somehting to him once in a private moment. At the time he ha dno disire to be and give what she wanted him to so he had pushed her away.

-two weeks later at the party-

Zev honestly didnt know whay he was ther, he could walk now yes but everything still hurt, and Sonja wasent looking much better ether. Well he thought she looked better than he did but partys were never his thing to start with. well not these kind anyway. though he would admet that Farkas looked nice in the cloths he was wairing, even if he had armer on over it. and Vilkas hav returned from what ever he was doing so that made him feel more at ease.
Now if only these people would stop wanting to talk to him, why couldent he jest enjoy the food and drink he never knew what to say at these fancy partys.

Cicero didnt like this at all, to many people to many chances to possabuly kill the Listener. He wanted her out weeks ago but she couldent exactly walk so he was stuck there watching over her. and now he had to play waiter to keep a close eye on her and look for a chance for them to sneek out togather without anyone seeing them.

Sonja felt to in place and out at the sametime. It felt so much like how things had been before and it did nothing to eliviate her anxiety. The dress she wore she felt made her stnad out way to much, and she did a damn good job of that on her own already. Her and Zev had been groomed to lok the part and her hair had been made up 'to show her lovely features' the maid dressing her had said. Sonja had no idea which features she evne wanted to be noticed if at all.
"Enjoying yourself oh Savior of the Land?" She asked coming to Zev's side and slipping her arm in his, and gently pulling him away form his captors. "I would tell you to not mind them but let's be hoenst nether of us cna escape tonight. An opposing trap fi ever there was one yes." She felt out of her element now with her hair done up so nicely and wearing clothes that befit her station, well at one time.
"If it's any consluation you look very nice dressed up." She could be hoenst and say he was very handsome.

"Where have you been?" Farkas asked though he wanst probbing as much as te others had been. He missed his brother and ad been worried but had to keep a storng face in case others became concerned.
"I was tkaing some personal time." He wasnt lieing he just wanst sure how to exaclty say what he had been doing. Ntohign illegal but he hadn't been doing actual work. They hadnt been exaclty forbiddne ot wear armor but were told it wanst appropirate. Therefore some armor was deamed better than non in their minds. Vilkas wanted his sowrd rater than the small dagger but it would have to do. No one not evne the Compions were permitted to carry full weapons and armor int heJarls household. Well maybe they coudl have pushed but it wouldnt have looked good.
He thaught he had cuaght sight of Alva a few times but brushed it off. The elf's presence had been a constnat during his time in Riften and thouh hewo would outwrdly deny any thing between them he found her to be a grounded force in his life. She was sensible and sharp which he foudn was in short suply these days.

Zev was glad to have Sonja drag him away, he was being polite but he didnt know how many times he could tell the same story. "honestly i wish they didnt throw this big party" he said "but everyones happy to be alive and that the world isent ending so i think ill live"
He looked down at his cloths and he felt out of place in them still, he was glad to be clean and be able to shave "Really, I think this kind of clothing looks better on you honestly" he did think that she looked nice, though most Breton nobles look good in fancy clothing. "So a lot of people are here, anyone ask for the lovely Sonja to have a dance with them yet" He honestly didnt know how many people he turned down so far he stopped counting after a while.

Big party with nearly every important person in Skyrim in one place and a chance to get a led in Wightrun, Now whay would Alva not take that chance. she could find new marks and one never knew how much blackmail you could get threw gossip alone.
Ofcorse she wasent wairing her normal nightinggale armer, no she was able to get a nice new dress, a gift from the blackbryers for a previous job that she called in. She had been working the crowd it was a little funny to see some nords reactions, it was like they didnt think a Bosmer could have nice things. but none of them mattered.
Though she did see some chance she could have some more fun with Vilkas, and with with brother there none the less. He didnt seem to notice that she was there yet, he might have seemed to have thought she was there but didnt seem that he was sure.
She walked up next to Vilkas and hooked her arm in his "Here i thought you would be face down in some mead by now" she said with a smirk and let her eyes shift over to Farkas "you mind if i steal him for a dance"

She gave a small laugh at both the irony and becuase in truth she had expected a dance out of plitical intruge eveyrone kept a distance form her. She knew she unnerved him just by her appearance but she grew used to it. "No dance or invitations for. Your the pretty one of the two fo us and I'm the smart one remember." She teased in good humor but still kept herself close to him. She felt almsot naked now without her dagger but it was just a phyical thing her magic was more tied to her than a peice of metal blessed by Sithis or not. "Not going t lie I do feel out of place having warn armor and leathers for so long. Silks and other thigns seem forgien to me now."

Farkas stared whiel Vilkas debated on if he coudl get awya wiht throwing her out the window, maybe ...
"Uh." Farkas closed his mouth when he relaized he was not comign up with anything and looked btween hsi twina nd the elf.
"An associate I met in Riften. Farkas this is Alva." He wanst lying becuase it was true but the detials werne't that inportnat. Plus he was still trying to get his own head on staight.
"Associate?" Farkas said again as if he was testing the word while looking the elf over, evaulating. The quick sublte shift of the eye told him what she was.

This made him uneasy and his brohter was .. wlling associaitng? Farkas was cocnerne by knew attmepting anything now would be poitnless and lead only to enbarassment.
"Just bring him back." He said simply. Vilkas and him knew that he knew twisn or not they knew each other more than enough.
