"I understand your concern and dont worry I know who comes first in this.
she lightly patted hm on th arm and mmedadly retractd her hand back as if the action was a forgien thing. "Besies if the world's destroyed I'm not certain how Motehr will get us to do any work. Might be a bit diffcult if we're all dead you know." A few urchins stared at them strangly bfore slinking off after decding tey had no want to get envovled with them.
Lucy for tem. cceor's modo indicatd he wanted noting of them at present.
"Alright what do I have to do to cnvice yu? You seem lke you need it or a sweetroll."

Well Sweetrolls were always a good way to get him to do many things. Though part of Cicero, the one that was still a little sane and trapped away in his head was yelling at the fact that he didnt really like sweetrolls, he was to crazy to care. "True true, must keep mother happy. and having people to send to the voide will make her happy" he said with a grin. "Cicero will help how cicero can, after all Listener is important and we can kill people along the way" he laughed even though he didnt like this right now he knew it was needed.
For more than one reasion and that the sooner Sonja and the other save the world the sooner things can go back to normal.

Part of her said she should have called him out on his lying but at the sameitme she couldnt have been less bothered. Prying anythign out of him was exhauting and left her drained mentally which made concintrating on her incantations difficult.

Few Weeks Later

Zev had roused her in the middle of the night saying he had a lead that could help them. She looked athim half asleep and she was glad later on he hadn't noticed the knife in her hand under the pillow.
Though the look on his face said he ddnt like his lead.
it was only hours later int e forst that she met Zev's 'lead'. The strange old man gave her the creeps and his son, whom she had the displeassure of meeting already was there. She wondered breify if Cicero had been aware of her departure but figured he did somehow or another.
"And thus we have two at last." Azhidal had waited patienlty for this, taken a bit longe than he hoped but it was done. "Let me have a look at you my dear." He said to Sonja who was doin her best to not outwarldy show her disconfrot. "Relaxe sweetthing as much as i'd love the company of a lovely young lady such as yourself the world wll not wait." He laughed at his own joke while Garreth simply shrugged with bordem. "So you two have decided to tkae on your mission than? Lovley so nice to see people tkae responsibility for their actions and evne more when they take charge." He seemed for a moemnt lost in thaguht than came back to them. "The ruins you wnat are old ruins on to of other ruins. There you in th deepest bowls of the darkenss you will fnd Alduins' bane and with it the key to stopping him. Mind you you could also die trying to tget it but when is tat nto the case n anytng in life??"
"So where is it?" She kept herself occupied under the strang emag'es gaze with thethreads of her goves which were starting to become shreaded.
"Ah a perceptive little mage you are quick to want to know and evne quicker to strike. You ow compliemtn one another veyr nicely. Take ood care of this one Harbinger and you take care of him little Whisp."
"But for where you must look far north near Dawnstar ruins butkeep going down. The ruins are borken ut your blood will call to the Scroll evne n the depths and yu ill hear it calling to you. a song sweeter and more dak tan any you have heard befoe."

Though zev didnt like this lead it was the best, and though he questioned why Sonja had a knife under her pellow he told himself that it was for protection. Still draging her out there in the middle of the night was not the best thing he thought of but it was the only lead he has and even if he didnt like it there was no other way to to tell if he was lieing or not.
And going whare it was even colder did not sound to fun. "great going whare its even colder" he mittered to himself. if they didnt have a choise then they didnt have a choise he would jest jest have to deal with it. After all it was something they apperntly needed "and something that dose creepy songs that isent helping this hole thing" he was not looking forward to that. not all

"Fate is so rarely kind isnt she? But run if think you can it will chase you down and drag you back kicking and scremaing." Azhidal had an unlbinking stare that made Sonja uneasy, she felt like she was pinned in place by those eyes. It felt almost wrong he looked so old and wzzened yet his eyes ... they were so sharp. Not a hint of his age seemed to be in them.
"Will they need a guide this time Father or do you think between the two of tem they can manage?" Garret asked from behind Azhidal his knife wa sin his hand and he had tkane to shaprening it.
"No need boy our little Whisp here can hear the son wel enough. The Wolf here can smell it." Azhidal could beoth feel and hear their ower but ti was beign blocked and repressed, a shame and it wouldnt do not at all. "You boht musnt' fear what you are denial always leads to self destruction. Enbrace it and do not allow any other to tell you which path you hsould take. Draons go many ways but they always find their goal remmber that. I have both parting advice and a gift for you both. Dear Zev do not ide from yourself enbrace your blood and yourself. You will akwaen in truth and than you will find what it is you've been seeking all these yeears." He looked at sonja, clever little thing small an whisp like. Quit lovely indeed. "Dear Sonja hone your magic dealv t o where othe stell you to not go, they hide in fear form what the cna' contorl. Your magic is what makes you you my dear make itit your very being."
"Are you offerig lessons?" Sonaj said before bieng albe to sotp herself to which Azhidla laughed, turley laughed.
"My dear as much as I would love yoru company in my lonely home I fear it would tkae you years of practicing my ways you have potential. go form there and maybe one day I might be albe o teahc you a trick." He smiled which came out more like a smirk, like a snake. "But if your so curious my dear my gift would hlp you it may seem small and simple but .. consider it a focus. Heavy at first almost a burdne on your lungs and mind but with weight comes strength." The pendat he gae her was a simple black stone with a strange rune carved into it. "by the tim you face Alduin you'll be able to use this fuly or not depends. " He seemed to dig around in his pocket for a logn while searching for somehting else. "Zev though you are no mage magic as you've leanred is more than beneficial you have accepted Hercicnes gifts and tus my little figt to you will help you enbrace im futher. " A small ring simple and unassuming.
"So now that we have all this gift giving done with you tow best repare and b off. Alduin will not wa and i am certiante Blades will wnat to rangle you boht in sooner than later. Best ot give the that chance. Well menaign but horribly miss guided and meddlign in what they do not evne understnad. Do not be thier pets keep them fa form you fo they are as thickle as a brier patch and will tear you apart at first chance."

weeks later at the ruin intrince

"well well be out of the wind atleast" Zev said once they were in the mane hall, it had been a long few weeks and he felt they they could take a break, rest and get there engery back up, cause it was going to be a lot hearder from now on. "Though I dont know why hes here or why you are so alright with him" he said leaning back agest a wall. at some point that crazy jester had showed up and insisted on coming though he had no idea why sonja was alright with him. The guy gave Zev the creeps but well he wasent going to say to to an extra paor pf hands when it came to getting threw this place.
Cicero, for many good reasions was not about to let Sonja go in there a lone with the Redguard. he did need to keep her safe after all and he was the onely one that could do that. Or more the only one that wanted to do that. "Oh Cicero jest loves addventer....Ohh we might even find a dawof" he sang clapping his hands to keep up the act like he and Sonja are mearly friends and not anything more, she wasent his listener the stranger didnt know about this after all.
Zev rolled his eyes, and though about what the old man said weeks ago. " So you think the old man can be trusted Sonja." he asked her. The thing about him finding what he always wanted confused him, he thought he had what he wanted. He had a house, friends a job all be it it was not in the bes condition at the moment. He felt content with it so what else could he want other than saving the world ofcorse.

"As much as I trust any strang eman wandering the woods who just happens to know just enough about what we're doing to be useful. So to answer yoru queshton Zev i trust him as much as our purpose demands." Ahidal gave her the creeps, her skin crawled and she felt threanted in a way she'd never been before. She hadn't informed Cicero of the encounter nor the items the sage had given them, frankly she felt little need to inform him.
They were camped at the main enterance of the real ruins. The camp was covered enough to give them cover should a Falmar came foaming aorund. Also some degree of pricavy if needed, Sonja had been more insistant on it. She tried 'listening' for what the sage told her to but heard nothing. She could hear the Night Mtoehr but not some singign scroll in the bowels of a ruin.
Curled up by the fire wrapped in a thick fur blanket she chose to occupy her midn with reading. The book her and Ciceor found moths back was at first boring but as she read it she started noticing patterns in other scroll toes and begn connecting the dots. So she chose to spend her nights of travel reading and leanring.
"What aobut you Zev? non of your Brothers wanted to join us?" She asked knwoing that many of his new brothers and sisters had a dislike of her on princable of her chosen methods of living.

Zev shook his head. "Na, they all have other jobs they can do. besides someone needs to stay behind and make sure things are run smothly" he said. He knew Vilkas could handle that part and they had gatten in a few jobs, though they were jest taking care od some weak highway men beat downs for gold and getting rid of some verman in someones house. there was three of those, but that would bring in a little gold atleast and they could use it, unless it gets spent on food and ail again. He kind of hoped other than the scroll that he could get something that was worth someing he could sell and get some gold in the companions funds. "Besides other than our crazy friend here this is like the good old days, i dont think you would want to have to shair me that much" he teased her lightly.

"Oh even if they were here I wouldn't share you. I did claim you first if I recall." That old feelign of fallig into habbit agai. Evne with Cicero's presenceand he could feel is dislike of this situaiton she still enjoyed having abit of a call bakc to wen it was just her and Zev. Before everythign had really gotten insane.
She kept a close eye onthe fire sense she was presnelty brewing them extra potions for the journey downward. Careful harvesting and mixing demanded it if the potions wer to work correclty, Botbetter had tuaght her enough before leaving on this little jorney.

That night

They had agreed to set off n the morning after sleeping, or attmepting it. Zev was ot and snoring lightly a few feet form her and she was dimly aware of movement next her. "What are you doing?" she hissed at ciceor who had suddnely moved in far closer toher. Closeness made her unfontrontable but hs in particlar tickled her. "Your supposed to be on watch!" She kept her voice painfully soft to not wake Zev, she did NOt want to imagen hsi reaction if he woke up and saw this.
Mind you there was ntohign elicit happening. Both of them had thier hands well away form each other but the closeness, ... that was what was makign her uneasy. He was at her bakc and the ease he managed to actually slip there without a sound remidned her again n a fearful anner just how dangeorus he was. "I'm trying to sleep if you hand't noticed!"

"Cicero is mearly making sure that there is nothing wrong is you listener" Cicero wispered, though he could have seen that from whare he was he didnt really care about Zev "How about we leave the redguard and go get the scroll ourselfs. we dont need him cicero can kepp you safe" and he jest didnt like the fact that Zev might make Sonja rethink her position in the dark brotherhood. he couldent have that though the Redguard didnt know at the moment if he found out he might end up finding out and then well if he did then that would mean the redguard gets a knife in the back.
Thinking about it Cicero now kind of hoped that Zev found out, then he would have a very good reasion to kill him. Though he still didnt really need to be that close to Sonja, he jest kind of felt like it in a sper of the moment for some strang reasion, he stoped wondering why he did anything anymore, there was really no point at all anymore after all.

It was dark and hard to see evne with te ding light of embers of their fire, but she knew roughly his thaught process. "not up for debate." She said simply trying to not squrm becuase of his closeness. his sudden desire to ditch Zev came as no surprise though it wans't sudden in truth. She cuaght on even with his sublty he had no likeing twards Zev. Zev was in Ciceor's mind a prolem and all problems were to be fixed in one permanent form or another.
"We're going who knows how far down into a Dwemer ruin with who knows how many traps and Falmar waiting for us. I"m not abondonng him." She had some sense gthat she clung to zev fa to much she ad felt uttelry betrayed when he first set off the ida of jining the Cmpaions. So much so she stormed off and he had spent a dya looking for her in the woods, in hindsight not her smartest move. She also had sense enough to know that she would be orece to choose herself between him and her Dark Family, prefrablly far far away in the future. "Also I want another sword between us and watevr else lives here which in my experiance is a lot fo flamar, gient bugs and dwarven technology."
Not a fun journey at all.

"Oh oh good idea, he can be the sheild" Cicero giggeled at the thought of the redguard getting ripped to shreads. down there. it would be so much fun.

-they got the scroll and out of the ruin because we all know what happens with that-

"I am never going underground again" Zev said he thought he would never see the light of day again. after fighting dewmer mechs and Falmer Zev was ready to never go into another ruin again. But they had the scroll now and were getting close to being able to finish this.
"Hey look Im going to head to wightrun for a day or to, to rest and get some more supplise, you can come with me or if you have another plan we can meet up" he offered, thinking that a few days to get the rest and engery back. they would need it after that.
Cicero somehow seemed to have alot of engery still "Oh dont worry we will meet you stranger, yes yes meet meet up" he said. he wanted to get Sonja back atleast for a little, to make everyone see that she was alright and that they were still safe for the most part.
Zev looked at the jester "I didnt ask you but well what do you say Sonja, you going with that guy" he asked her. he didnt exactly want her to but well she was a grown woman ans could do what she wanted. "Oh and did you want to hold on to this scroll or should I " he felt that he should but talking it over with Sonja should atleast happen.

"If you trust me enought o keep it safe I will." She took the scroll from him carefully. As for meeting up or headng back she knew heading back to Dawnstar would only delay this whole venture a month at least. And they couldn't affod a month at present. "I'll catch up with you on the road to Whiterun in a day. I know the roads you normally take I just need tot ake care of a small thing than we an get this whole thing done with." She could tell that Zev wasn't to thrilled by the idea but as alwyas he was trusting enough of her choice.
The three parted at a fork and three became two and one. It was only after Zev was well away that she dropped her act. "I get what your trying to do but me walking all the way home just to say hi is out of the queshton. " She adjusted the scroll on her back as she walked. "You can head home if you want but I"m heading to Whiterun n a day with Zev. Pretty sure Alduin eating the world puts a dmaper on our work."

"Cicero disagrees listener, all that death and pain, hehehe it would be fantastic" Cicero said giddy with the thought of the world being destroyed, though on the other hand that would mean that they couldent kill anyone anymore. "But your the listener Cicero has to do what the listener says" even if he didnt like it. He wanted her whare he knew she would be safe. He looked for so long and he was not going to wait around for anther listener to come. And if she said she was going to do this then he would have to let her. "Fine, but everyone misses you, espicely mother" he knew that mother must be lonely without her listener but he would inform them that she was alright and comeong home to them soon. "Cicero will tell everyone that the listenr is alright and comeing home soon"

Skip to After the fight Alduin on throat of the world.
Relisitcally this would be at least half a month late rgiven Skyrims s**t wheather and all that hikng.

Aringir much to Sonjas resentment and respect was as blnt as he was tatcful. He stated what the situaiton was, the repocutions of fialing and what he belived a vilbe corase of action. Parthanax hasd suggestd the same.
The two were in Ivorstead in the In each barley touchign their food. Neither felt exactly phsyically present. The actual encoutner with Aldun ahd be .. harrowing. Learing an ancient shout aside te battle took a tool that nether of them had thaught of.
hysciall they were beaten up and exhasted but the tru exhaustion and pain was internle, liek spritually if that amde any sense.
"So trying to broker peace now? You think Alduins' presence would be enogh." She said fianlly after what fel like an eternit. She still felt the hate of the hsou insid of her, they both did. it hammered home Arignirs word that a Dragonborn took a shout into their very beng and pushed it out, thus enbodiing it.
This hout made by man was pure hatred.
She felt both streed and crippled. The mortal within her was revleaing int he memories of the ancient nords vicotry but feeling the effects. The dragon she was raored in th hsots hate andfelt enboldened form it.
peace didn't seem something pssible int his land it fed on war like a gltton at a feast and the idea of iterupting that feast was unsettling and daunghting. "You have enough sway wiht balgrof to convicned him to let us use his palace bt doenst change the fact that ... brokering peace."
