Character summaries

Jadylalioh "Jady" Tinselweed

User Image

A forest elf who chose to sew in 'the old city of the king' for living - instead of running around the forests and hugging trees or what ever elves do during the days. She isn't any longer a sight in the city and is known for her good work. But when thinking about it, there's no sense for a forest elf to sit around in a city far away from furry animals of the forest and the songs of the flowers.

Is good at sewing, sees well in the dark, good hearing, sleeps the elf way and appreciates details.

Gess Jahd's character.

Eva Erduo

User Image

Eva belongs to a bit different kind of a nun monastery. She seems reserved but feels strongly for her friends and wants to protect them from any kind of evil. Eva likes home baked bread and writing poems (sometimes they end up sung by the local bards).

She has a little dog that always follows her around. Fights with a scythe. Knows some basic healing and some chants for various purposes.

Often gets mistaken as a man despite of her nun outfit and womanly figure.

Tinja Klenneseph's character.

Additional information

Dianthus nun monastery

- Looks like Tegher monastery, but is in better condition and with a few additional buildings in the yard.

Jadylalioh "Jady" Tinselweed || Artisan's alley

Jadylalioh was always the first to be up so lady Naper had given her the keys for the shop and the responsibility to get everything ready for the opening time. Jadylalioh didn't mind walking through the streets, greeting other early birds and seeing how the sun rose little by little from behind the partially crumbled city wall.

She reached the little store, Perfect Stitching, soon and unlocked the door. Lady Naper without a doubt was still fast asleep in the upstairs. Sometimes Jadylalioh heard her snoring to the back room. First she had thought it was her husband Oat but this often was the one to tell loudly Lady Naper to wake up and let others sleep.

Jadylalioh made sure there were no needles or yarn pieces laying around the store floor. They all got loud feedback from "making a reputable store look like a sty" if there were any. Then Jadylalioh went through the fabrics, laces, yarns, buttons and everything to make sure they had all left. She wrote down "Olive silk lace" with her cursive handwriting on the checklist for the lady.

She looked outside from the door and saw that the sun was high enough to open Perfect Stitching. Jadylalioh hoped all other girls would be on time, there wouldn't be any mistakes about what kind of perfect stitching their store offered and they'd get decent amount of orders. All this hoping was to go to waste for sure but Jadylalioh couldn't stop trying.

Eva Erduo || Artisan's Alley

Even though it was early in the morning, Eva quickly walked down the alley. "Why did mother Sylvia send me so early here?" She mumbled at the same time. Eva quickly checked the list again. "Perfect Stitching... This must be it!" Eva nodded and walked in.

"Good morning! Do you have..." Eva looked at the list for confirmation. "Do you have white and strong red fabric?" She asked from a young lady. That lady seemed to be an elf. Eva straightened the scythe she had accidentally grapped with her, when she quickly left to fulfill the orders mother Sylvia had given her. Oh, well. Dianthus nun monastery had teached to always keep a scythe with you. "You never know, what shall come before you when the day passes. So, my children, be always alert." Is what mother Sylvia said.

Jadylalioh "Jady" Tinselweed || Perfect Stitching

One of the three other girls working, apperenticing young girl Lina Mellarn, had sneaked in from the back door. She at least tried to show some respect towards work times - she had fallen back asleep on a pile of newly coloured wool though.

Jadylalioh put a fire on the back room's fireplace and was waiting for the good smelling bath water to heat up. Lady Naper would make them scrub the green colour from Lina as the first thing for sure - so the reputable shop wouldn't seem like a sty. Lina came from a very poor family and they couldn't have proper soap and hot water baths that often, so if they didn't do it they'd have a green apperentice for months.

Jadylalioh was interrupted from her cozy moment in front of the fireplace when the bell rang over the store door. She hurried to the store room as fast, elegant and quiet as only elves can. The first glance gave away that the arrival was a nun. She didn't recognize the symbol colour but the scythe hanging on her back gave it away. Jadylalioh was pleasantly surprised because she had many times heard songs and stories about them, seen the monastery from distance but never met a single Dianthus sister personally.

"Good morning, honoured Dianthus sister", she greeted and made a little curtsey. Her another ear twitched once while concentrating on what the sister needed.
"It's my pleasure to tell, we have both colours in many fabric qualities", Jadylalioh nodded and continued, "May I ask what purposes the fabrics are for? It's easier to offer different options when I know are they for what kind of clothes, sewing works, or something else, honoured sister."

Eva Erduo || Perfect Stitching

Eva smiled. "I need red fabric like this scythe strap. Aaand theenn... White fabric like in this hood." Eva showed the elf.

While the lady rummaged the fabric piles, Eva took a good look around the shop. "This shop truly is lovely!" Eva was amazed. "Oh! I almost forgot! Mother Sylvia asked me to bring these home baked breads to lady Naper. And do you have belt buckles? I need them too." Eva handed the good smelling basket to the elf.

She heard the door bell ringing. Two girls came in. Probably workers. "Good morning!" Eva nodded. Then one girl came from the backroom. Four ladys were in the room now. "So... Did you find those fabrics?" Eva continued the conversation.

Jadylalioh "Jady" Tinselweed || Perfect Stitching

"I'd say processed tight knot red from Fox Lake and tight knot corner weave bleached cream from South Valley", Jady nodded to herself taking a better look to the equipment that would be sewn from the fabrics. She did a little curtsey and turned around to find the right fabric packs from the shelves.

"Lady Naper will be the most grateful for the delicious gift and your kind words, honourable sister. I will make sure that she gets the basket intact", Jady smiled a bit and thought about the apprentices that were always and ever lastingly hungry.

Jadylalioh looked at the arrivals as she was measuring, cutting and packaging the fabrics.
"Csilla, Lona, please use the back door when you arrive for work", Jady reproached gently as she tied a carrying yarn on the heavy red fabric package.
"And Lina, don't sleep on the wool when it hasn't been washed for use yet. Go back to backroom and carry the water in the tub", she continued without turning around to see the girl. Based on the ill hidden snorts of the two other girls she really did need a wash.

"We will have Csilla carry you to packages to the Dianthus monastery if you don't mind, sister", Jadylalioh offered. "It's a common service we offer for free", she added so the humble sister wouldn't feel like she was getting un-needed special attention nuns didn't fancy.
"She can also show you the way to a close by blacksmith who makes very good quality items such as buckles, nails and hairpins. Beautiful items with a good price, sister."

Suddenly Jady heard Lina gasp from behind her. "You're a nun. You're not a man!"
Jadylalioh turned around quickly and pulled Lina to the backroom from her ear. Jady was never rough handed but this was the best way to get a message through to her.
She returned and bowed her head.
"By the name of Hepur, I am very sorry for the untought words that came out. Lina is a good girl but thick with social interaction and understanding, honourable sister", Jady said. Lona saw this was the best time to hide and rushed to the back room with Lina.

Eva Erduo || Perfect Stitching

Eva thanked the elf kindly. "Well, thank you for the offer, but I have been the blacksmith's customer for a while." Eva pointed at her scythe. "Even though the monastery has a blacksmith of its own." Eva smiled a little.

She listened to the conversation of the girls. Sounded a little like some of the newest nuns. She yawned.

Eva looked for a while at the girl. After the elf came from the backroom, Eva couldn't handle it anymore. She bursted to laugh. "Gyyaaa hahaa!" Eva holded her stomach. "There's nothing to worry! That wasn't even the first time!" Eva giggled and tried to calm herself. When she was calm again, she straightened her posture and said "Actually, I am pretty proud, that I'm mistaken as a man sometimes." Eva smiled and bowed. "If you will excuse me now, I must hurry. Mother Sylvia is probably already waiting. Shouldn't five gold coins cover for these fabrics?" Eva gave them to the elf and rushed to the door. Then she turned and bowed again. "Thank you." Then she was already running fast up the street to the monastery.

Jadylalioh "Jady" Tinselweed || Perfect Stitching

Jady didn't question the sister's amusement as she figured there were some long stories attached to her reaction. Humans were in some ways very hard to understand with only logic. Besides, it was better for one's spirit to laugh rather than worry and feel sorry for themselves.

Jadylalioh tried to argue against the money offered, there was way too much, but the sister had already disappeared. Jadylalioh was left with the noticeable exchange and the newly bought fabrics.
"Csilla... Please go upstairs and wake up lady Naper. I know you don't want to but tell her that I'm working on keeping one of our best customers, then come back and watch the shop for a while", Jady explained quickly and picked up the right amount of change and lifted the fabric packages. They were heavy but Jadylalioh figured she could manage.

The elf stepped on the street and started calmly walking towards the Dianthus Monastery.

Eva Erduo || Dianthus monastery

Eva glanced the big gate and stopped. "Umm.... Whoops..." Eva said when she noticed that she had forgotten the fabrics in the shop. She decided not to go back for now, because it was just a little bit too far away from the monastery.

Eva walked to the Big Hall, where nuns were singing their daily chants. The Big Halls stone walls were covered with religious paintings. There were big stairways on the both sides of the hall. Eva rushed to light up a candle and then up the stairs to meet mother Sylvia.

Eva quessed that mother Sylvia was in the library. She was right. "I apologise, I forgot the fabrics in the shop. I'll go get them later." Eva bowed. Mother Sylvia put the book down and looked at Eva. Then she turned, walked to the window and looked down to the gate. "I'm sure... Sure that somebody will come soon..." Mother Sylvia whispered. "Who will come?" Eva tried to see what mother Sylvia was looking. "Somebody. Be patient, my child. Patient." Mother Sylvia smiled and went back to read books.
