This is the main topic in which you ask your questions. That way there won't be a spam-filled mess of question topics on this forum This way they'll all be in one place. Here are few commonly asked questions:
Q: What is a tulpa? A: I know it seems stupid, but I'm sure some people would ask this. Check the "What is a tulpa?" topic in the main forum.
Q: How do I create a tulpa? A: Guides are in the "What is a tulpa?" topic in the main forum.
Q: What can a tulpa be? A: A tulpa can be anything. Person, human, animal, pony, even a talking rock.
Q: The guides that are in the "What is a tulpa?" topic aren't helping. What do I do? A: Google is your friend. If you still can't find any helpful guides, ask in this forum.
Q: Can I have more than one tulpa? A: Yes, you can.
Q: Would I be able to actually touch my tulpa? A: Yes, but it's not solid. For example, you can touch and feel it, but if you push you'll go through it.
Q: How does my tulpa interact with the outside world? A: It could act however it wants. It can't do anything physical. Example: Kick down a door or flip a table. It can go through walls and people, but usually they prefer not to.
Q: It hates me, what do I do? A: A tulpa shouldn't hate you unless you made it to hate you. But that doesn't mean they still won't get mad at you. You should treat them like another person. If they do hate you for whatever reason, however. Ask in the forum the details and all of that.
Q: I can't concentrate worth a s**t. What do I do? A: Again, google is your friend. Find concentration techniques and train yourself to become better.
Q: I don't believe this. This is just one huge scam/troll attempt. A: This is no scam, but I can't make anyone believe that. I know there's going to be skeptics who won't believe this 'crazy stuff'.
If your question wasn't answered in this, ask.

Sekhmet Nocturna I'm a bit of a skeptic about tulpas, but it's a phenomenon I think might potentially be real. I may press people a little hard on their beliefs, but it's only because I'm curious and want to find out if it is real or not, if it's some kind of psychological phenomena that can be empirically proven. I've got a theory that it's real, but not in the sense that it's commonly accepted, that you don't create something that is physically real but rather something you believe in so strongly that it becomes distinct and real to you, and to anyone else who believes in it as strongly as you. Is this opinion welcome?
Yes, this opinion is welcome, and I understand completely. When I first heard about this, my overall reaction was "Da fuq is this sh*t..." but overtime, after visiting many forums and reading up on it, I have discovered that it is real.
I understand that you're skeptical about it, and I can't really do much to change that. Reading different forums and topics about the matter made me believe that it is real, and I am currently doing it myself. If enough people say that something is real, it's usually real, expect for Chuck Norris jokes lol.

Like I said, I don't think it's s**t, I think it's plausible but not in the same way as the lore suggests. The power of belief is an incredible thing, just look at the placebo effect. Belief, by itself, can be enough to heal people. In my opinion, the same thing can cause a person to experience the effects of a tulpa just by believing in it enough. That doesn't make them crazy or the tulpa any less real.
And hey, a lot of people say that Twilight is a good book and that Justin Bieber is a great singer... but that don't mean it's true. rofl

You do have a good point, after reading up on enough forums, it's almost pretty obvious that it's true. That many people are not going to keep up with a lie. Especially if there are multiple accounts of it. But I also understand that despite all of that, people are still not going to believe it. It's hard to change peoples beliefs, especially over the internet lol.
And people saying Twilight is a good book and that Justin Bieber is a great singer are just opinions. Everyone has different opinions, although the greater number of opinions seem to weigh on the other side rofl.

I like to approach it as "Hey, I know I may not approach your opinion, but look at it this way..." and then look around at existing, proven facts to piece together a plausible theory.
If they still won't listen, you're not going to change their mind. But if they're at least willing to talk it out, and maybe pay attention to your point, there's hope.

Starchan13 Is there a shorter version of the "what it is" definition? I have no clue what's going on here...every description I found is long, and I'm not really patient enough to read all that.
A tulpa is basically a forced hallucination. One that is sentient.
However, it is different then a non-forced hallucination. A non-forced one, which is not made consciously, but by some sickness or mental problem, is non-controllable. Meaning, you can't control who he/she is.
With this, you can make their personality, making them friendly and kind. And a nice friend to have.
In very basic terms: A sentient hallucination produced by you consciously over a long period of time.
And, unless I'm wrong, I believe you're from the MLP forums. So you can create a pony if you wanted to. Just remember not to base if off a character from the show, as that can cause identity problems, and it will try to act like that character. If you still do this, though, tell him/her that she isn't forced to act like that character.
