There's no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor
So keep in mind all the sacrifices I'm makin'
To keep you by my side to keep you from walkin' out the door
'Cause there'll be no sunlight if I lose you baby
'There'll be no clear skies if I lose you baby
Just like the clouds my eyes will do the same
If you walk away
Everyday it will rain

And there's nothing I can do
I just gravitate towards you
You're pulling on me like the moon
I just wanna get you sideways
I say anything I can to get me more than just a dance
Tell me where to put my hands
You know that you could be my favorite lullaby
You get me higher
What would you do if I told you that I la la la la loved you?

Bonds were strange. Some peoples bonds lasted a life time, never diminishing, never withering and always together as friends. Though some people some times take their bonds to the next level just to test it out and see how it works. Some work and some don't. Some fall for the other and the other doesn't know it until she has already been taken which leads to tragedy and sadness. Which was Jacob's case exactly. Jacob didn't want to tell her all this time fearing that she might hate him. He had watched her go through a couple boyfriends trying to keep his jealously to a minimum and every time whether he would be at work or in the middle of a deep sleep, whenever Miranda needed him he would have been there in a heart beat. He was surprised that even if he didn't tell her, that she didn't notice. You would think after spending years having the opportunity to try and figure guys out and how they expressed themselves, you would know some hints right? Maybe Miranda just completely skimmed over them because Jake is her closest friend so she didn't want to believe it? Who really knows? Jacob knew though that if Cameron took her heart he would probably move far away. He wouldn't want to see his ex best friend and his only closest friend kissing and going on dates all the time. Everything would change and Jacob didn't like it. Thinking about all this was honestly putting Jacob in a bit of a zoned out bad mood which he knew he had to hide or else an argument would start and that was the last thing he needed after last night. He knew he should have told her earlier but he didn't want to spoil anything. He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable around him. He watched the lady walk away with their drinks ordered. Was this what it felt like to be alone? To know that one of your old friends was purposely trying to take away the person you loved oh so dearly and you couldn't do anything about it. Now he knew what a love triangle felt like and his heart was wrenching every second he wasn't with Miranda because he knew when she wasn't with him she was with Cameron and that meant the more she might be leaning towards him. That sounded completely selfish and Jacob knew that but he just couldn't bare the thought of losing her like this. He wanted to punch something he wanted to just tell Miranda how he really felt, let it all out and maybe he would. He would have to find the right time. Maybe they would be able to have dinner tonight like they were supposed to the other night and it got ruined? he wasn't sure but maybe even a day at the shop with Miranda would be nice and a small lunch or just a nice conversation about stupid stuff like they used to in the truck before Jacob went home? That would be the ultimate day even if his dinner and movie night was spoiler by the blond sitting just across from him.

Raking a hand through his dirty blonde hair once his eyes lingered around the room. What could be worse then his old best friend mad at him and the love of his life having to chose between the two? The fear that if he stood up to Jacob he would be punched. To be honest, Cameron knew Jacob wouldn't punch him but just the thought of some one double maybe triple his size with huge muscles, punching him in the face is terrifying. He knew Jacob wouldn't do it for a few reasons. Miranda, he's a big softie and Cameron didn't hit him first. If it was one thing that he had to share about Jacob was that he didn't usually start physical fights, he ended them. Cameron looking down at his fingers as he twirled them around and played with them. So many things were running through his mind. Would Miranda want to hang out with him after all these stupid conversations about all the drama or would she want to hang out with Jacob more? He honestly wouldn't blame her if she did chose that. Cameron knew he probably wasn't the best boyfriend. He was probably horrible actually. He did love her and everything but to be honest he wasn't sure if he was treating her like he should be. Maybe he was, maybe that's why they had always had breakfast together? Cameron was always the laid-back calm, collected and quiet kind of guys. He was never one to argue unless it was a true debate that was worth arguing over. Like Miranda. As much as he respected Jacob he wasn't going to give up so easily. He would fight for Miranda and he would do anything for her. He knew Jacob would too but that's why they were fighting. They knew Miranda hated it but who was to say who she would chose. Maybe she wouldn't chose either of them? But then that would just break both their hearts. If Miranda did chose Jacob though Cameron would be more upset and act as if he was happy for her which he still would be but he wouldn't be as excited. He would probably still talk to her and remain friends but he wouldn't know how long if he could even fathom that Jacob would be kissing the love of his life. Jacob had the argument that he knew her longer, basically calling dibs but Cameron still wouldn't let go. Jacob wasn't telling him anything, he never did and never will. It went in one ear and out the other if and when he did. There was no way Cameron would give up. Hopefully Miranda wanted to hang out with him sometime today or maybe she wouldn't hang with either and give herself a break? Who knew?

Ordering the drinks was easy it was ordering the food that was the challenge. Jacob didn't really noticed the waitress looking at him like she had because he was zoning out thinking about things. It wasn't until she came back that his thoughts were put back in his mind somewhere as his attention snapped to her. Her eyes looked at his brown ones in a weird way and it was sort of creepy to say the least. Jacob already knew what he was getting so he let Miranda go first. She was the girl after all. Eggs in a basket that sounded pretty good but he liked scrambled eggs even better! He looked down at the table for a minute before the waitress turning to him and Cameron and asked what they would be having. Jacob didn't know if Cameron was ready so he looked at him and Cameron gestured for him to go first. Jake nodded before looking up at the creepy waitress. "Uh, two scrambled eggs, toast and some home fries please." He hesitated a bit her stare almost staring into his soul. Which made this even creepier really. There was nothing worse then a creepy waitress thinking she was at a club and hoping to score a guy. It just didn't look that way really. Jacob looked away and rolled his eyes. This lady needed a slap to the face to come back to reality for a bit. He took a few sips of his orange juice before looking at Miranda. She looked pissed. Well if some guy was looking at her like that he surely would have no teeth left of course. Though Jacob would never take her to any place like that. He would make sure she was always safe. She was his little Randie of course. His Randie? Yes. His Randie. After the waitress left he turned to Miranda who had asked him a question. Of course he minded! "Yea, I noticed, It's kinda pissing me off really." He told her in a low aggravated voice. To be honest though she looked even more pissed then he was which made him a bit happy but it was for a stupid waitress. Why was she trying to hit on men during her work shift anyway? That was just wrong like are you serious? Not even Jacob would have done that and that's saying something!

Kicking this waitresses a** seemed to be top on Miranda's to do list right now. He had to admit even if he wasn't gay or he wasn't really close to Jacob anymore, the way she was looking at him made him want to get up and slam her against a wall, in a bad way! No matter how mad at each other they were they would always back each other up. It was just what they did. It was almost instinct now really. Cameron waited for Jacob to finish his order before placing his. "Two pancakes with a side of corn beef and hash please." Gosh that sounded so good and he wanted it like this instant! Though he knew he had to wait for it all to cook which was probably the worst part other then picking the food you wanted to eat. Turning to Jacob as he spoke he nodded. "Slut.." He muttered trying to get his friends to laugh. Jacob chuckled and shook his head at Cameron's comment. Not many things like that came out of Cameron's mouth but when he said them he had a good reason to. There was nothing worse then some attention seeking slut women who tried to pick up men at her job. He could see if her job was a hooker or stripper or something but she was a waitress! A god damned waitress! Trying to pick up his friend! His friend?... Yea, his friend. Cameron didn't want to keep referring to him as 'old friend' or 'ex best friend.' It was a pain and it wasn't entirely true, even Jacob had to admit that at least. Well look, this morning Jacob used his own truck to bring Cameron to his house and back. It was awkward but it was better then completely ignoring each other. Isn't that was Miranda wanted? Them talking again? She got her wish. Well, partially.

Everytime Jacob looked over somewhere he saw a couple. They were chatting, they were joking around. Some even had roses put in a vase on their table meant for the other. Jacob scowled a little bit. He regretted not telling Miranda and now he sort of felt like since Cameron told her first she would want to be with him and it pissed him off. Though the way Cameron just called the waitress a slut he figured his 'old' friend still had something in their for him and if that were the case Jacob would admit, he still did too. A part of him never let go of his best friend, still knowing what he would probably do next, still could probably finish his sentences, but the fact that they were falling in love with the same girl just made their friendship a spiky ball to roll on together instead of a smooth one. Jacob sighed before turning his attention to the waitress again and watching her put the plates down. She was still looking at him weirdly but before he could speak up Miranda did first. He added something in though before she left them completely with their meals. "You might be better off at the club across the street if you really wanted to. I'm sure your boss would love that!" He told her sarcastically before turning to Miranda. "I wouldn't even give her one." He told Miranda with a small evil smirk. Who would anyway!? He looked at his food and a smile was painted on his face. Food! Delicious food! Once they were all done he wiped his mouth taking the last sips of his orange juice before looking at Miranda holding his stomach meaning he was full. He laughed a little bit. "Don't worry Cam, this one's on me." He told him but directed it to both of them as he took out his wallet getting the appropriate cash. This lady seriously didn't even deserve a tip never mind three damn dollars! After paying and exiting he listened to Miranda rant. He laughed a little bit. it was fun except for the b***h but she wasn't going to get a piece of him anyway. "We should do it more often, I'm sorry I haven't been able to." He told them with a serious face on as he sincerely apologized though in a way he didn't mean it because he knew it was sort of a Cameron and Miranda thing now but he did mean it. He looked at Miranda's brown eyes as she spoke up again. She would come to his work!? He was obviously dreaming! Someone pinch him! No maybe not... That hurts! A smile crept on his face. Today must be his lucky day! "Sounds fantastic." He told Miranda with a smile and a nod. When she turned to Cameron and said about a movie night Jacob's mind filled with images of that. He knew what he did when he was watching a movie with Miranda, cuddled, hugged snuggled laughed shared popcorn and now that old routine was being given to Cameron. Of course, don't get him wrong he loved hanging at the shop with Miranda but that was work. Some times work got frustrating or it just got to hot and gross. That was no fun! Jacob started to head off to his truck he didn't want to hear anymore of that nonsense. "I'll meet you at the shop then!" He told her with a smile before getting in his truck. He took a deep breath before actually putting the keys in his truck and driving away. At this point he didn't care how he left them two. He was sort of pissed off. between the waitress, the whole Cameron and Miranda thing, as well as her making him sit next to her instead of next to Jake, and now on top of that he had to go back to work and deal with his gay friend. F***ing fantastic.

Nothing about the breakfast was really not fun. Interesting but fun indeed. The waitress thing ended up funny but then again it was a bit angering. He wondered what it would have been like it the roles were switched around. He also wondered why Miranda didn't tell him to sit next to Jacob to be fair. Did she think he could take it? Jacob was probably angry as hell right now but if he was he was doing a pretty damn good job of hiding it because even Cameron couldn't tell. Maybe he wasn't mad. Maybe he gave up on being mad and was just jealous? Though, that didn't show either. What was running through Jacob's mind? "Sounds great!" He chimed in after Jacob. That sounded cool. Not exactly the best mornings really, but who cared, at least Miranda was there right? Cameron sighed a little bit before turning to Miranda again as she spoke up once more. So she would go spend the day with Jacob huh? She used to do that all the time didn't she? It was like a routine they broke. Why probably because of Cameron of course. Everything had to be blamed on Cameron all the time right? Why? Because Cameron was the calm one he can take anything where as big ol' Jake over there couldn't take nothing without his fists trying to break something. Cameron shook the nasty thoughts out of his head as he nodded to Miranda. "I have work until 7:30 but after that I'm free." He told her with a smile noticing Jacob walking away. Didn't want to hear it he guessed. Maybe because that was also one of their famous routines. In a way Cameron felt bad about it but in another way he was happy and he wanted to sped the time with Miranda today, because he might visit his brother Seth for a while soon. Maybe it would help him relax a little and not only him but Jacob and Miranda too. Yea, that sounded perfect. Today is wednesday, so Friday I'll leave and I'll com back next Friday or Saturday. He thought to himself deciding not to tell either of the two of them. It might ruin his plans and it might make him change his mind and he didn't want to. He might have to tell Miranda his parents forced him. Which wouldn't be true but she wouldn't know that because Seth was the best older brother to him like ever. Cameron could tell him anything and he would give his best feedback. He admired his brother with all his heart. "Conversation about taco's initiating." He laughed a bit changing his mind into the taco world which lead into taco bell which then he remembered the incident with drugs in the taco. This would be interesting.

            "I'm twenty, single, and beautiful."

Please sing to me, «xxxxxxxxxx
I can see you open up to breathe. «xxxxxxxxxx
Fast words make it easier on me, «xxxxxxxxxx
If the point is to never disappoint you, «xxxxxxxxxx
Somebodies got to tell me what to do. «xxxxxxxxxx
Just wish you could've seen me «xxxxxxxxxx
When it used to come so easy. «xxxxxxxxxx
I like to say it's easy to stay «xxxxxxxxxx
But it's not for me, «xxxxxxxxxx
Cause I'm barely here at all. «xxxxxxxxxx

It was a tiny bit strange to hear Cameron sending an insult someone's way, especially at a girl. But still, it was amusing. She smiled a bit, shaking her head as she brushed some hair from her eyes. A lot had changed hadn't it? And she never even realized it until now. Things were so different between them all. Why hadn't she noticed earlier? And it wasn't just the sort of relationship that Jacob and Cameron had, it was even how each of them acted. Sure, Jacob was still headstrong and moody, but he was different in the same way. He seemed to be a bit more considerate of people in a way than he was before. He was trying to be nice to Cameron for her own satisfaction. He didn't overreact as much, at least he didn't show it and kept it all in his head. And Cameron was still quiet and sweet, but still different too. Since when did he come out with comments like that, calling a girl a slut? Sure, it might have just been to make them all laugh, but that didn't really change much about the fact that he just insulted someone without batting an eyelash. And he seemed to get quieter too. Just last night, he had barely even said a word. She clearly remembered when they were younger that he had a hard time shutting his mouth. And well, she supposed that she changed too. Sure, she was still considerate and warm-hearted, but she grew up didn't she? She learned that not everything is like those stupid princess movies she would force Logan to watch with her. People didn't always get a happy ending. Her mother didn't now did she? Her father died when she was still little. Cheryl never stared seeing anyone else, she stayed single. And she still wore her wedding ring. Sure, her mother said that she was happy because she managed to raise two kids into great people by herself, but her smile couldn't hide the sadness in her soft blue eyes. She still wished that Mark was around. She knew that Logan saw it too. And they both wished that they could do something to help her, but what could they really do? They couldn't bring him back, no matter how badly both of them wanted to. He was their father, of course they would want him back. Logan turned into the man of the house when he was just ten. At least growing up with two girls taught him how to treat one right, right? After all, he had a beautiful wife and two daughters already, so their mother had to have done something right.

The bill was being paid by Jacob? Now this is what she meant by the fact that he had changed. He was actually going to pay for them all without even bothering to argue about who would with Cameron. This is what she missed! Them all being able to go out and just have a good time together without fighting! And this was a pretty nice breakfast except for the flirty waitress. But hey, that brought some sort of humor right? Even if it pissed Miranda off at first. But it was still a success! "Well you have a job." She shrugged, it wasn't that big of a deal. Sure, it was nice that they were all together and what not, but he did have a job to keep. He worked for his father, and she was positive he would understand if Jacob went in late to have breakfast with her, but that just wasn't something that you did all the time. Occasionally, yes it would be nice. But all the time? It would be just as nice, but it was like she said, he had a job! She smiled brightly at Jacob's reply to her. It better damn well sound fantastic! Because she was a fantastic person. Wasn't she just so full of herself today? It was just a strange day from the start when all of them went for breakfast. "Okay!" She replied happily, a smile still on her face. Spending a day with Jake at the shop, that was something that she hadn't done in forever. Was it bad that she was excited to irritate him by handing him the wrong things? No, of course it wasn't. And then she could run down to the pizzeria down the street and pick up lunch for the both of them. That brought back memories, most of which were very childish. Like the time they got in a pepperoni fight. She started it of course, peeling a piece of pepperoni off of her pizza and just throwing it at them. Needless to say she ended up going home in one of his shirts because she went to his house to clean up, because her shirt was covered in pepperoni grease, completely ruined. But it was so much fun!

She was equally as happy when Cameron agreed to have a movie night with her. Today was turning out to be pretty good wasn't it? Yeah, she thought it was. "Well then be at my house by eight, or I'm starting the movie without you." She told him, wagging a finger in his direction. Hm, what did she want to watch though? Definitely not a romance, she could not deal with that ooey gooey lovey dovey s**t today, she wanted to watch something that would keep her up. Maybe something that would make her laugh. So definitely a comedy. But what then? There were some classics that always made her laugh like Click, but then some new ones had come out that she hadn't seen. Like Ted. Some of her friends had seen it and said it was funny as hell, and she wanted to see it. So that was definitely an option. She would have to talk to Cameron about it. After Cameron was in the car with her, she started it and started to drive off, blinking a few times when she heard what he said. He really said it didn't he? A conversation about tacos! She laughed a little, pulling onto the main road. "Right tacos." She had to think a moment. "Oh my god, you remember the guy putting drugs in the tacos?!" She suddenly blurted, turning her head and looking back at him as she got stuck at a red light. She knew there was a reason that she suggested talking about tacos!

Taco Conversation!

C- "I had to admit that was hilarious, I saw it on the news and laughed, though I can't believe a little girl ate it!"
M- "That's not funny, it's horrible! And illegal!"
C- "Well of course but still it's amazing what people do these days.
M- "No, it's absolutely ridiculous."
C- "I don't really understand how they could get drugs in the kitchen anyway."
M- "That's what makes it even worse, how ignorant people are."
C- "I agree, though I don't understand why so many people go to tacobell, it usually makes me have a stomach ache afterwards."
M- "But tacobell is the best!"
C- "When you're a mexican!"
M- "So are you calling me a mexican?"
C- "I'm not calling you a mexican but maybe you have it in you?"
M- "Hell no I don't! I just like tacos! And so does Logan, and he definitely isn't mexican. Have you ever seen a mexican with blue eyes?"
C- "Well no but I mean... never mind I have no argument to that" *laughs*
M- "I win!" *laughs*
C- "Not fair! You know, this reminds me of McDonald's, how the food makes you sick."
M- "But I like McDonald's too."
C- "I will never be seen at that place!"
M- "Aw, is little Cammy afraid of Ronald McDonald?"
C- "No! ...I just don't like their food... or the place... or his creepy smile..."
M- "Clowns! You're afraid of clowns! I almost forgot that time I dragged you to the circus with me when we were little. Logan had to call your mom to come get you because you were crying!"
C- "Pft, I am not afraid anymore! I would probably punch it in the face now."
M- "You keep telling yourself that."
C- "I will!"
M- "Well then why don't we head to McDonald's so you can give Ronald a nice big punch in the face?"
C- "Would you like to bail me out of jail then?"
M- "I'm sure it would be worth it for the laugh!"
C- "Well I'm sure that wouldn't be too great on my record. I'll be heading for a job and they'll be looking and say: 'Soooo, you punched the most famous fast food guy huh?' 'Oh McDonald? Yeeaaa.. That was uhmm.' Then the guy would laugh at me and probably send me out the door."
M- "You mean like what sort of happened when you applied for CVS?"
C- "That wasn't even fair! They accused me of stealing underarm deodarant and gum! I have enough money to buy that why the hell would I steal it!?"
M- "Well you did steal a chocolate bar from Walmart."
C- "That was because I wanted to act cool around my friends! Plus it was in high school..."
M- "Ah, everything happens in high school doesn't it? After that everything is just boring."
C- "Yes! Exactly! No more friends to impress!"
M- "But trying to impress people and making a fool of yourself was the best part!"
C- "Oh please! You have to admit you have done it before!"
M- "Of course I have, and it was the most fun! Like that time everyone dared me to strip to my underwear and jump in Kris's pool? I just had to pick that day to wear my panda panties!"
C- "DAMNIT! Why didn't I see that? I mean what!?" *looks around innocently*
M- "Cameron Gray! That was so inappropriate"
C- "What are you my mom?"
M- "Am I?"
C- "..No comment..."
M- "But that is a comment."
C- "..."
M- "You smartass."
C- "..."
M- "Don't make me climb back there and smack you."
C- "...Where?"
M- "Well there's not enough room back there for that!"
C- "Are you sure? I can make room!"
M- "Well I don't see you moving!"
C- "Well you're still driving! That's like texting and driving it's wrong!"
M- "I can pull over idiot" *evil grin*
C- "I won't argue with that!"
M- "Naughty boy!"
C- "I thought I was pretty boy?"
M- "Eh, both fit!"
C- "So I'm the pretty naughty boy?"
M- "...Yes!"
C- "So what does that make you since you were willing?"
M- "...You can come up with that one!"
C- "Naughty Panda Princess?
M- "...I LIKE IT."
C- "GOOD!"
M- "SO IS THAT A PLAN?!"
C- "Let's do this!"
M- "You're such an idiot."
C- "But why?"
M- "I can't do that with my Cammy!"
C- "But you would do that with Jacob right? *sort of a mumble*
M- "...What? No! That's just... just no! I could never..."
C- "Don't you have to chose? I mean not that I'm rushing it but if you chose it's not like you'll never do that... I'm sorry that was really awkward how did we get into this?"
M- "Well yeah maybe I guess... I have no idea but the topic needs to change now!"
C- "FUDGE PEPPERS."
M- "And pickled toast?"
C- "Pickled onions are really good..."
M- "Stop you're going to make me hungry." *giggles*
C- "We just ate!"
M- "...Your point being?"
C- "...You're right, I am always hungry." *laughs*
M- "So I'm right!"
C- *sticks out tongue*
M- "Wait what was I right about?"
C- "...How you agreed to come back here and smack me?"
M- "I agreed?! Damn somebody must have spiked my milk." *teasingly*
C- "Please! You can't resist my awesomeness!"
M- "Awesomeness? Ha!!"
C- "D'aw that's mean! Tucker thinks I'm amazing!"
M- "Well that's one...dog?"
C- "A dog is a man's best friend!"
M- "And what's a girl's best friend?"
C- "A Cammy!"
M- "You're right there Gray."
C- *playful grin*
M- "Alright, now get the hell outta my car!"
C- "Hey now, hey now, no need to be so rough!"

He was making her laugh, really laugh. Like she hadn't in a long time. Amazing how the conversation started with tacos, shifted to McDonald's, then to jobs, and then got so extremely dirty she couldn't even take it. And it almost took a turn for the worse too, but he saved it and she just ended up laughing again. That was the funniest conversation she had had in a long time. Once she kicked Cameron out of her car- playfully of course- Randie walked around to the passenger side to grab her bag. s**t, she still had to call into work. Better do that now. She tossed her keys to Cameron so he could unlock the door, and took out her phone. Scrolling through her contacts, she finally found her boss's number and pressed call. After a few rings he picked up. "Hey Robert? Yeah, I'm not going to make it in today, I'm sorry for such a short notice ... Yeah I'll do double hours tomorrow ... Thanks! You're the best!" It was a quick conversation, and she hung up with a smile on her face. "No work for me today~" She said in a sing song voice, throwing her backpack over her shoulder and following Cameron inside her house. Butterfly instantly started jumping around her feet, earning a giggle from the petite female. She dropped her bag by the door and scooped the pup up, kissing her head. "And how was my sweetheart while I was gone?" She asked as Butterfly started to lick her face. She loved her dog, she really did. But even as she was talking to her and what not, she was still thinking back to the conversation in the car. Where had all of those comments come from? She had never ever thought he would say something like that! Well, she did start it didn't she? So it was sort of her fault too. But innocent little Cameron kept it going!

IShe put the pup back on the ground, her brown eyes drifting back up to look at Cameron. She didn't want to separate Butterfly and Tucker, they loved playing with each other. That was when the idea popped in her head. "You're going to take Tucker home right? Why don't you take Butterfly too? I don't want to leave her alone again." She said, and Butterfly looked up hearing her name, barking once. 'Yes I'm talking about you." She told her, smiling a little. She couldn't even think about having Cameron take Tucker, and then just leave herself! No way, she cared about her sweetheart far too much to do anything to her. She fished her phone out of her pocket to check the time, furrowing her brown a little. Damn, it was already ten?! She needed to get to the shop before lunch! "s**t, time to get moving Pretty Naughty Boy!" She giggled, going back over to her bag. Might as well take it with her, it had all of her things that would normally get her through the day. So it was coming with her! She grabbed Butterfly's leash off the door handle, the pup scampering over and sitting still so Randie could clip it on. She smiled in Cameron's direction, waving him over. "Come on, we've both got things to do. And let's try to keep the conversations appropriate!" She giggled, shutting and locking the door after he was out. "And you're allowed to sit in the passenger seat now." She said as she opened up the rear door. Butterfly jumped inside and curled up on the seat, and she put her bag on the floor. Once Tucker jumped in as well she shut the door and climbed into the driver's side. After Cameron was in his seat she started the car and pulled out of her driveway, already fiddling with the radio. How did she plan on keeping the conversations appropriate? By singing and avoiding talking at all! But well, this song wasn't exactly going to keep things innocent was it? But she liked it, so she was going to sing it anyway!
"White knuckles and sweaty palms from hanging on too tight
Clenched shut jaw, I've got another headache again tonight
Eyes on fire, eyes on fire, and they burn from all the tears
I've been crying, I've been crying, I've been dying over you
Tie a knot in the rope, tryin' to hold, tryin' to hold,
But there's nothing to grasp so I let go
I think I've finally had enough, I think I maybe think too much
I think this might be it for us blow me one last kiss
You think I'm just too serious, I think you're full of s**t
My head is spinning so blow me one last kiss"

She giggled a little as she stopped singing when they pulled up in front of Cameron's house. Silly dirty song! But it was a good one! "I'll see you tonight?" She asked as she got out and opened the rear door, watching as Butterfly jumped out with her leash in her mouth so she wouldn't get it caught on anything. She was so smart, just like her owner! She shut the door after Tucker hopped out as well, looking over at Cameron with a smile on her face. "Just text me when you're on your way." She bid farewell as she climbed back into her car, sticking around only to watch Cameron and the dogs disappear into his house. And then she was off to the shop.

Miranda completely forgot that the shop was so close. If she was in the mood for a walk, it was definitely in walking distance. She could have stopped by so often if she had wanted to. So why hadn't she? Oh right, she kept making stupid excuses for herself. He would be busy. He wouldn't be there. It would be awkward. Well now she was glad she was going. She pulled into the small parking lot, climbing out of her car with her keys in her hand. She brushed an annoying lock out of her face as she opened the rear door to get her bag, putting it over her shoulder, then proceeding to shut and lock her car. She looked around quickly before heading up to the front door. Before she stopped coming to see Jacob, she would just walk around back through the garage, but now she didn't know if she could. So she went in through the front instead. She pushed open the door, the small bell ringing as she stepped inside. Without a moment's hesitation she walked up to the front desk, pursing her lips as she saw the front desk was empty. She put her hands on the counter, leaning over it. And well then she just called out for him, regardless of what people would think of her. They could all go screw! "Jake?"

And there's nothing I can do
I just gravitate towards you
You're pulling on me like the moon
I just wanna get you sideways
I say anything I can to get me more than just a dance
Tell me where to put my hands
You know that you could be my favorite lullaby
You get me higher
What would you do if I told you that I la la la la loved you?

Being alone in his truck for a while, while Miranda was with Cameron really rubbed Jacob the wrong way. Of course he understood the whole thing that Cameron didn't go back to his house to take his car or anything but if Jacob had to drive why couldn't Cameron? Jacob had his suspicions that Cameron was flirting with Miranda in the truck but what was he to say about it? It's not like he could track their hones and listen in, that was creepy and not even right. Though Jacob was curious even if they said something about taco's. Tacos? That could lead to anything! Taco?! Jacob could take that and imagine it in a whole different way to mean something completely dirty and horrifying to lesbians. Okay that was a little weird but that's where his mind went thinking about taco's too much! He wasn't paying attention and when he finally snapped back onto the road his foot automatically hit the brakes. He had been focusing too much on Miranda and Cameron and he almost hit the person in front of him. He took a deep breath and turned the radio on a little bit. He turned on the country station as usual and he started bobbing his head and bobbing his head a little bit.
Been goin' round and round all day
Bailin' some hay and stacking it all up
Can't wait for the sun to go down
Roll into town, shine the old truck up
Swing by the quick stop
Grab a little shiner bock
Then ease on out your way
To your place around 8 o'clock
Well I'm just ready to ride this Chevy,
Ride this Chevy down a little backroad
Slide your pretty little self on over
Get a little closer, turn up the radio
Put your pretty pink toes on the dash
Lean your seat back
Man I swear there ain't nothing looks better than that
Sweet tan, little thing with nothing to do
I wanna take a little ride with you

Sure, Jacob wasn't the best singer and all but it was getting his head off of Miranda and Cameron. Country music is the best for getting your mind off different things though he knew once he got in the shop his dad would be asking questions and wondering why he was late and wondering what happened and why. It would be a long explanation but his dad being the only person he had, he would tell him anything. Jacob just wished his mother was around but he couldn't get himself down like that, it wasn't fair. There was no escaping the torture of questions he was going to get at work. Sure, thinking about how Miranda let him comfort her at night made him smile and it made him feel good about them two but he was still confused on how she would chose and how she would do it? Would she just say it right out? Would she keep it a secret for a while? Why couldn't Jacob get the courage the kiss Miranda!?

Returning to Miranda's house had to be the worst thing ever. He knew that Miranda would go and be with Jacob but what could he do about it? Hearing Miranda sing on the way though, was like his own personal drug. Her voice echoed in his mind and he couldn't get it out. There was something about the way she sang that gave him the jitters. He harmonized with her in a few parts but he stayed basically quiet, he wanted to hear Miranda, screw his own voice, hers mattered more. She could be famous with that voice, not having to worry about two guys and choosing one, she would be living the life, forgetting about all of her past. Maybe none of this would be going on, him and Jacob would remain good friends and Miranda would go on to date other guys no matter how much Cameron and Jacob loved her. Though even if she ended up getting famous now, there was no way Miranda would forget about either of them. Though being famous some times wasn't all it was cracked up to be even if it sounded exciting and fun. How he got into that was being him but he had to focus on Miranda for the remaining time he was with her. Cameron sort of wished he didn't fall in love with her, or maybe that he told her earlier in stead of ruining everything for himself and for Jacob. Cameron knew now that what he was saying about visiting his brother for a while would be the right choice. Cameron would feel bad if he told Miranda away from Jacob and he would still feel bad if Miranda chose Jacob either way Cameron couldn't win. Seth would understand maybe he could find some twins down there and go on a double date even if neither of them were like Miranda, he had to get his mind off of this beautiful wonderful girl... That would be harder than anything Cameron had ever done in his life... But what else could he do?

Originally Jacob would have been more then glad to go to work and possibly forget about the whole Miranda thing, which never happened anyway but it was a place where he felt he could be himself even with his father and Quil's father around. He sighed as he pulled into the shop. It looked like four bikes were just being brought it. Great, one for each! When Jacob got out of his car and entered the shop Jacob's father had been joking with Quil's father until he saw his son. Immediately Jacob got stares and he felt a little ashamed but he wouldn't have traded the time with Miranda and Cameron for the world even if it pissed him off just a tad. "So what happened to you?" Jacob sighed and began to tell his father the story beginning from when their dinner was ruined and how Miranda asked him to sleep with her not in that way but to help her feel safe. To this morning. Jacob's dad had a huge smile on his face. "Son. I'm proud of you. You kept you're cool and kept your head high. I am proud to call you my son. And I am very excited to see Miranda in the shop again." His dad smiled and patted Jacob on the back. In turn Jacob hugged his father. His father had been all Jake had and he was always there no matter what he told his father his father would understand and help him, even if it was bad he would never scold him. His dad asigned him a bike and Jacob talked to the owner before bringing it to his own work place. He sat there for a moment trying to gather himself. How will his dad greet Miranda, how will Miranda act? Maybe Jacob could ask her to go out Friday night. That would be nice, he always got out of work early on Fridays. Jacob shook the thought out of his mind as something was thrown at him. "Not still thinking about her are you muscle man?" Quil asked laughing a bit. Jacob threw the thing back at him. "Do me a favor and never call me that again Quil." Quil stopped laughing and awkwardly nodded getting back to work. Jacob shook his head with a smile on his face. Maybe things were changing. Maybe even for the better. Jacob began taking the bike apart with a huge smile on his face impatiently waiting for Miranda's arrival.

Knitting Cameron's heart back together was the thought of being able to be with Tucker for a while and then go to work so he wouldn't have to think about Miranda too much. No matter how harsh it was. The taco conversation was quite the interesting one to say the least bit and Cameron enjoyed it. He sort of felt like he went beyond who he really was when he sort of flirted with her. Naughty Panda Princess was her new nickname, but there was no way in hell he was ever going to say that to her in front of Jacob, he might just kill poor little helpless Cameron. He sighed as he got out of Miranda's car laughing a bit from the conversation he waited for her to be off the phone with her boss to not go to work before following her to the house and opening the door for her. Cameron watched her pick up Butterfly and smiled. She was just so beautiful and with her dog it made her all the more cute. Cameron was snapped out of her thoughts as she spoke up. Cameron smiled and laughed. "Yea, no problem, I'm sure Tucker would love that anyway." He laughed as his dog was still following the female around not even bothering to greet his owner till he mentioned his name. Cameron bent down and pat the dos head. "I hope you were a good boy Tuck." He barked once wagged his tail before going over to Butterfly again. Cameron nodded at Miranda and laughed. "No guarentee's!" He told her playfully exiting the house with her and his stuff which wasn't really anything he hadn't just come in with. He nodded about her next comment watching the dogs climb into the back seat. He sat in the front with her listening as she turned up the radio and blasted the music. There was no way that Miranda could ever think she was a bad singer. He harmonized with her on some parts loving the song as well but he stayed quiet loving the sound of her beautiful voice. It was like the beautiful sound of a bell to someone's ears. When they got to Cameron's house, he got out and let the dogs out before turning to Miranda. "Of course you will." He told her with a smile on his face. He nodded at her next comment. He wanted to hug her or something but he knew he shouldn't he followed the dogs to the front porch as he unlocked the door and stepped inside. Long behold there were no parents. There was a long day ahead of him.

Everything wrong with the bike he was working on had to be complicated enough to take forever just to take the parts off and disemble them just to reasemble them a different way and just put them back on. It was a pain in the a** and he was glad he didn't have to do it all the time or he would probably ask for extra money or at least hope for a good damn tip! Jacob was trying to loosen a screw but he couldn't he finally gave one last push and it didn't work it only ended up hurting him instead of loosening the screw. "SH!T!" He cursed at it dropping the wrench. It pinched his finger tip and now it was bleeding. He washed his hands in the sink and put medicine on his finger and then wrapped it with medical wrap and tape to keep it there. What's wrong with me today? Ever since Miranda told me she would come by the shop my body is acting weird. I hope I don't seem stupid in front of her. He thought shaking his head. That would be terrible and he would probably just drive himself straight home. He heard something of a car door but figured it was his dad or Quil's dad considering Quil was nearby. "You okay?" "Yea just a cut. Damn screw doesn't want to come loose." Jacob replied. Quil came over and tried his hand at loosening the screw with succession. Jake narrowed his eyes at his gay friend as Quil went to work on his bike. Smart a**. Hearing his name being called he recognized the familiar voice and he automatically ran over to the front desk. He smiled seeing Miranda's beautiful face. "Hey, long time no see here huh?" He joked opening the counter door and letting her in. He placed a gentle hand on her back guiding her through the shop only to be stopped by his father. "Ah, Miranda it's good to see you again, Jacob missed you around here you know." His father told her. Jacob knew it was true but he had a feeling his father was about to embarrass him. "Come help me with this bike will you?" He asked Miranda giving his father a look. His father put both hands in the air as if innocent and walked away. When they made it to the bike Jacob looked at her. "I'm glad you were able to come." He told her with a smile on his face. Changing the subject he looked at the part he needed to fix. "Think you know how to fix it if I don't?" He teased a bit showing her the parts in his hands. She was so cute when she was trying to figure something out.

Nothing like the nice relaxation time of laying on the couch with two dogs on your lap and one of them happening to be the love of your life's dog she asked you to watch. No big deal. Cameron was falling asleep on his couch right now knowing he didn't have to go to work for a little while, usually Tucker would alarm him anyway if the alarm clock didn't wake him up. Tucker had his unique ways! Cameron lightly drifted off into a deep sleep as usual the last thing running through his mind was Miranda. Would he ever get her or would she stay with Jacob. In a way he hoped she went with Jacob, he didn't think he could handle a girlfriend the way Jacob could. Maybe he wasn't ready. Cameron's dreams consisted of different senario's and outcomes. It also included werewolves and it included just be super natural with powers as Cameron and Jacob fought over Miranda. It wasn't nightmares but it was dreaming enough to make him lurch in his sleep and make the two dogs curl up on the other couch. Cameron couldn't take the pain of being around here any longer. He had to leave and he had to leave soon. He just couldn't take it. He couldn't make it to the movie night, he didn't want to cuddle with her as much as he did want to he felt bad if he did. God damnit why couldn't life be easy even if it would end up being called a slut, at least it would be much easier than this stupid sh!t!

But it's not for me, «xxxxxxxxxx
Cause I'm barely here at all. «xxxxxxxxxx

It really wasn't easy to have to say goodbye to Cameron, especially after that conversation with him. That was so inappropriate and it bothered her a little. Since when did Cameron think like that, let alone talk like that! Even spending so much time with him, she felt like she barely knew him at all. How could she have no idea who her best friend was? Jacob too. He changed so much. He really grew up. She felt like she missed everything when she went away for college, and it tore her apart a little. She lost touch completely and she never expected to start talking to Jake again. Or make friends with Cameron. It was such a huge relief to know that she hadn't lost Jake and she found someone else. What really sucked was that both of these said friends have fallen in love with her. Fantastic wasn't it? Even better was that she had to pick between the two! Oh that was fantastic, absolutely fantastic. She couldn't win. Either way she was going to lose one of them. Sure, Cameron said he wouldn't leave her if she chose Jake, but how could he say that now? When the time came and she had to pick and if she did pick Jake, was Cameron really going to stick around? God she hoped so. Not that she was necessarily going to pick Jacob. But she needed to know that she wasn't going to lose Cameron if she did so. And what if she picked Cameron, what was Jacob going to do? Be angry and stop talking to her? Ignore her completely? She didn't want to know. She wanted to keep them both so badly.

Trying to keep herself from jumping with excitement really was not easy to do at all. It had been so long since she had just sat in the shop with Jake. Just talked to him as he worked on some bikes. She was really hoping that things wouldn't be awkward. That would be... well awkward! Long time no see? "I saw you less than twenty minutes ago. Here, no." She said, smiling at him. It had been far too long. She walked through the counter after he opened it up, and instantly felt like she was a teenager again, skipping school to hang around with Jake. It wasn't fair really - how time just slipped past her. Hearing the all too familiar and very missed voice of Jacob's dad, a bright smile lit up her face. "I've missed being here too. But not as much as I miss seeing you of course!" She said, laughing a little. Help him with the bike? She raised an eyebrow at him. "You really think I can do more than bother you with questions and eat pizza? You overestimate me." She said, smiling. It couldn't have been that long really, he had to remember that she had absolutely no idea with anything to do with cars, motorcycles, anything of the sort. Silly Jacob.

It was really nice being with Jake. She just felt like she didn't have to worry about impressing anyone. She could really just be herself and laugh and just... Just have fun. She had no responsibilities when she was here with Jacob. Except of course to bother him with questions. But she did that even when they weren't here. Twirling a piece of hair around her fingers, she glanced back at him as he spoke up. Fix it if he didn't? "I can answer that after I find my chair." She said, turning away from him. Chocolate eyes raked around the shop, and she put a finger to her lips. Now they couldn't have gotten rid of that chair. She loved that chair. Jake would have brought it to her before they threw it out. So where the hell was it?! "There!" She squealed in happiness, hurrying over to her beloved chair. She grabbed the director's style chair, carrying it over to where Jacob was. She unfolded it and stood it up, and soon enough her behind was seated in it and she had a content smile on her face.

So what the hell did he want her to "try to fix?" She blinked her brown eyes a few times, focusing on the pieces in her hands. "Do you really want my opinion?" She asked teasingly, smiling at him. "Well, I would try to put it together like a puzzle, which is probably totally wrong. But that looks like it could fit there, and that's probably an extra piece. You know that happens sometimes - an extra piece in the box." She said, pointing out where one of the pieces looked like it would fit, and motioning to a barrel when she would have put the other one. But well of course she was going to be wrong, she expected it. Since when would she get something related to mechanics right? She didn't take a damn robotics course or anything in high school or college. In fact, she made sure to stay far away from any type of wood shop or tech course. And her art? Chorus. What? She could sing and she liked doing it. Most of the time she hated their song choice, but well she was still singing? Funny, chorus and everything led to her being a life guard. Well, she was happy where she was.

Lost, was how Jacob felt. There were times he felt like he knew that Miranda would stay with him and then there were those times where he thought for sure she would leave him and go to Cameron. It killed Jacob the most to know that all of his childhood efforts to impress her meant nothing now. That all of it seemed to not matter now because Cameron decided to enter her life and steal her away from him. To consume her and hang out with her more and try to make her fall in love with him. Cameron was his best friend. How could a best friend do that? Was he really a best friend or did he just use Jacob to get to know Miranda more? Just thinking about that pissed Jacob off all over again but he knew he had to gather himself because Miranda was here now and she would make him smile and laugh again like she used to. Suddenly last night popped into his head. He remembered being woken up by Miranda's dog who lead him to her room where he found her crying. Crying about knowing her best friends falling in love with her. He remembered her confiding in him and telling him cuddle with her. Even Cameron's dog went and woke up Jacob. It had to be a sign. Even the dogs knew it and Jacob was thankful for it. Her words echoed in his head. "Jake, I want you to stay here so I'm not alone." It was like music to his ears. When he had woken up, though he wouldn't tell her he was he felt her hand briefly in his hair. He had wanted to wake up and just kiss her. He had kissed her cheek once but he guessed she forgot about that too. He really wished he had the guts to tell her earlier, he messed things up for them and now he was forcing her to chose. Though Jacob knew Cameron was the root of this problem. Jacob was going to tell her that night that he cared for her more than a friend but Cameron ruined it, he ruined everything that could have happened. Now Jacob basically had to rebuild his bond with Miranda. A life time bond. It pissed him off to no end. Last night was the best other than the fact about Cameron being in the living room and her crying. He wanted her to be his and he would do anything, be anything for her.

Oh so she was going to be the funny one huh? Jacob laughed and shook his head when she replied to him and watched as she looked at his father and replied to him. If his father was going to embarrass him Jacob was going to make him go home, along with Quil and his father! Jacob wanted alone time with Miranda and he was going to get it, so to him nobody was there but them. Jacob's father laughed a bit and waved a hand down. "Oh Miranda, the shop definitely needed you to brighten the day that's for sure! You two have fun!" Jacobs father smiled at the two before walking away. Jacob was in his own section of the garage so the rest of them were far on the other side of the garage to leave the two be. Jacob turned to her as she replied to him and laughed. "Aw common, you forgot everything after only that long ago?" He teased her laughing, his brown eyes bright and his smile wide before walking over to the bike again. She was just a bundle of cuteness. He would always show her what he was doing. Okay so maybe only half the time he explained it to her but she did see it, maybe she could point out what to do! Jacob rolled his eyes at himself, really? Was he that obsessed with motor vehicles he wanted Miranda to know too? Well of course, it was something to joke about but he knew she wasn't that into them so he would lay off. He just wanted to be alone with her, talk to her and maybe even after a few hours or something he could kiss her. No. He couldn't do that, he would really mess everything up. God damnit he just wanted to know who she would pick. He loved her so much and it seemed like she just forgot everything they ever did! No, he couldn't say that, that wasn't true!

Sitting down near the bike he looked up at Miranda almost as if waiting for her instruction. Something wasn't right though, she never used to stand! Oh yes her chair! She always sat on Jacob's chair which she claimed as her own when she used to come every morning and he would sit or kneel on the floor. When she said she had to find her chair he laughed a bit. He knew he saw that coming. She was so beautiful. Damnit! He did it again. He had to stop that like right about now! Jacob shook his head a bit before watching her go and grab the chair and bright it back. He laughed a bit. "I knew something was missing, now you can sit there and order me around like usual." He laughed more dragging his tool box over by his side. That chair, so many memories. He remembered rolling her around the shop one time when there was a shortage of costumers and they had just finished some lunch. Then he spun her around and she fell off landing on him. They laughed for days about that day and Jacob knew it didn't mean as much to her as it did to him. Or maybe it did but in a different way. Jacob felt like he should have said something that day but he didn't. And soon enough Cameron somehow squeezed himself into her life. God damnit, why did his mind keep dragging him back to this?

Trying to hold back a huge laugh as she finally took a seat and took some of the pieces into her hands, he just looked at her. "Yes I do." Jacob replied to her with a smile on his face, his brown eyes focused on her as she stared at the pieces as if trying to figure out where in the puzzle they went. When she finally replied he smiled and nodded. "You were partially right! But usually if you leave a piece out something else might break." He told her gently taking the pieces from her smiling while he did so as he replaced one of the rusty parts with another new one before he put them together and back onto the bike. The costumer had also asked for an oil change so Jacob knew he would have to get dirty. Maybe he would make Miranda do it! Jacob looked at her with a smirk on his face. "Want to help me change the oil?" He asked her with a playful smirk holding the screw driver in his hands. "You know you want to!" He told her edging her to do it. He wanted her to try just to see how dirty she would get and if it was him that got dirty oh he was going to have some issues with her! Of course, playful issues! Or would they escalate? Wait, what no! Jacob was mentally hitting himself. His thoughts were clouding his judgement and it was sort of bothering him but he couldn't help it. This whole situation was really getting to him and Jacob just wished he could have done something earlier. Maybe things would be different now. Maybe he would have had the girl of his dreams.
