Shinjin simply nodded. "All right, I'll take her somewhere safe," he said, "But it would be foolhardy to take on this large mass of adversaries all by yourself, Ryoku. So we'll be returning as soon as we can." He picked up the unconscious Hinata and lowered the barrier that surrounded them. "Come on, Fuyuki. Let's find a building where we can hide her," Shinjin instructed, "Also, Ryoku, make sure you leave some taboo for us when we come back." Shinjin sprinted away from the spot where he stood, moving remarkably fast, considring he was carrying someone.

"I don't believe that we have much of a choice," Shinjin responded grimly, "Let's go." However, before he turned around to return to the building from before, he noticed another building which was closer to where they were out of the corner of his eye. "Wait, Fuyuki-chan. We could just go to that building there," he said, pointing out the building for her. As he turned and began to dash towards the building, he suddenly felt a bizarre feeling from the direction that they had come from. "Damn, I'd better hurry. Somethng's going on with Ryoku."
He entered the building with the unconscious Hinata over his shoulder still. Shinjin checked around on the bottom floors of the bulding, looking for any type of danger. Finding none, he put Hinata down in order to check the upper floors. As soon as he tried to climb the stairs, at least ten taboo leapt from the top of the stairs, crashing down on top of Shinjin. These were humanoid taboo, but they were much stronger than the taboo that Shinjin massacred earlier. All together they were able to overpower Shinjin and hold him down on the floor. Shinjin decided to give up on trying to waste his energy fighting the taboo who held him down. He then tried to manipulate the emotions of rage that the taboo all felt, and tricked them into killing one another. Shinjin sighed a sigh of relief, standing up, then ensuring that all of the Taboo were dead.
He then created a large barrier, and made it expand outward, and collapsed all of the floors above, and revealing all of the taboo who were hiding above. He then formed several smaller barriers around all of the taboo. He then caused the barriers to collapse, crushing each of the taboo. "There we go. Now we're safe," Shinjin assured himself. He headed downstairs, then picked up Hinata. "Fuyuki-chan!" he called out, "It's safe here. You go and help Ryoku. I'll stay here and protect the girl."

"Unh," Hinata groaned as she slowly regained consciousness. Her nosebleed was still coming on strong, but at least the fever had let up a bit. "Shi-Shinjiro?" She murmured, accidentally mistaking Shinjin for her older brother. "What happened? I couldn't catch all of what you guys said, but it sounds to me like somethin' BIG is about to go down..." She tried sitting up, but then a sharp pain shot through her head, forcing her to lay back down. She bit her lip, causing it to bleed, but she didn't scream. If there are more of those monsters out there, she thought, I can't let any of them know we're here or we're toast! "But where're Ryoku and Fuyuki? I heard a lot of crashing and yelling..." Then her eyes grew wide. "Don't tell me you had a fight with them?!" |

"Alright" Fuyuki said while following Shinjin into the building. She didn't follow Shinjin to check whether if there is any taboo around, she stay by Hinata side in case there is any taboo suddenly appear beside her. Sawing Hinata trying to sit up, Fuyuki quickly push her back down. "Stay there. Don't move." she said to her.
After hearing Shinjin calling to her, Fukui stand up cautiously. Seeing no taboo is around, she quickly dash to where Ryoku is. She arrive just in time to heard what he said. "I'll help you. " fuyuki called to Ryoku. Using her ability to create illusion, she closed her eye for a minute. The sand around them is starting to flow upward, she blend in some burst ability to make it more realistic. Fuyuki suddenly open her eye and the sands, like a thousands of shooting stars, fly toward the taboo with amazing speed. The taboo all attacking Ryoku had flee, and some is dead. Fuyuki collapse onto the floor. She didn't faint but the feeling she had now is almost unbearable. She knew she would had this feeling after using that as she is still training. Using too much of she PSI, fuyuki can't even manage to stand properly. She wobble for a bit and fell down again.

Alicia Williams
Having answered her phone and being transported to PSYREN, Alicia knelt upon the sands and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to cure herself of the ringing in her ears caused by her persistence in prolonging her search for Lucian. Before many more seconds had passed, she opened her left eye and began synching the time she saw with her left eye with the time she saw with her right. Before long, she managed to figure that her visions were three seconds ahead of what she saw as of now. And those three seconds ahead seem to have brought me some unwanted company, Alicia thought and began an advanced retreat from the aforementioned Taboo. Although, said retreat was in fact short-lived, as the monsters took no time in attacking as soon as they got within range. Alicia rolled out of the way, swiftly, and continued to flee from her pursuers, using her Enhance psi, aiming to get away from her enemies rather than fight them. This pacifistic chain of events is normal for Alicia's trips into PSYREN, ever since she had made the discovery that using Enhance to speed up instead of doing both that and strengthening her attacks almost doubles her rate of survival...depending on how fast her enemy is. In the end, the enemies she has heretofore encountered have turned out to be incapable of catching up to her.((OOC: Sorry for missing the big entrance to PSYREN, everyone.)) |

Hinata heard the footsteps coming into the safe place that Shinjin had found for them. Her first thoughts were that some of the tavoo had appeared and were going to try and kill Shinjin and herself, but upon hearing Ryoku’s voice, she was not as worried about him and Fuyuki as she would have been, seeing as the two of them were still alive. Although she was relieved at their presence here, she could hear that both Ryoku and Fuyuki were having a hard time breathing, so her only logical explanation was that they had come from a recent encounter with the tavoo. She slowly brought her head up, if only for a long enough time to check the condition they were in. “Ryoku…Fuyuki…Are you guys okay?” Hinata asked, hoping that Fuyuki’s being passed out wouldn’t hurt them much on their search for the gate.
Suddenly, Hinata gasped, and before she could realize what she was even doing, she jumped up from the floor and darted to a nearby hole in the rubble that was once a building, standing in the open to see out into the vast wasteland where she had landed nearly an hour ago. She looked to her right and to her left, scanning the horizon for any sign of movement. I have no idea how, she thought, but somehow I’m getting the feeling that somebody else is out there besides us and the tavoo…Somebody human, or at least humanlike… Upon seeing nothing, she sighed and crawled back into the hole quietly, dismissing that feeling she had just recently experienced as a hallucination due to lack of rest while her fever was still going on. “I’m sorry,” she apologized, figuring Ryoku and the others might have gotten mad at her for nearly giving their position away if any of the tavoo were around and they had seen her. |

Hinata was thankful that Ryoku hadn't been angry at her for nearly running off, and she also was grateful that there weren't any tavoo around to try and kill any of them. However, she was still both suprised and confused at this new ability she had aquired to sense other people's presences. More than anything, she wanted to understand, even if only a little bit more than she already knew, the strange new twist her life had now taken. "Ryoku?" she asked as they left, "I don't really get how, but I...felt someone...just a little while ago. I could tell it wasn't any of us, because you guys are at least a little bit familiar. Whoever this other person is, I have no clue if they're for us or those W.I.S.E. guys you seem to hate so much, but they only just got here, like two or three seconds ago. Is it normal for somebody to get these kinds of powers when it's their first time coming here?" |

Incubation period? Hinata wondered, What's that supposed to mean? Am I sick? Do I have a virus that could potentially wipe out humanity?! Hinata's eyes narrowed and she bit her lip as she thought of all the worse-case scenarios that were possible with the little information she had at the moment. It wasn't like her to be serious often, but when she did get like this, it was always pretty difficult to snap her out of it, no matter how hard her friends would try. She didn't want to ask such stupid questions in front of this group of people that seemed to know pretty much everything there was to know about this strange new world that she'd landed in. (or at least that was how it seemed to her at the time) The one thing she did want to know right now was where the gate was and how they would be planning to get there in such a condition. "Hey, Ryoku," she asked, her voice unknowingly conveying the earnestness and seriousness with which she put forth her question, "Do you guys have an idea where the gate is? It's okay if you don't tell me where. I just want to know that we know where we're going. And..." Hinata looked over at the limp Fuyuki that Ryoku was carrying, almost anticipating her to suddenly wake up and ask where they were going or what Ryoku was thinking trying to carry her off like a princess, "how are you planning to get there? Don't go giving me some sarcastic answer like 'carefully' or 'alive', although they're both very good ways to go around the situation. Just give me a straight answer...Please." |
