BATTLE RULES
If you are attacking, you cannot say it hit the other character. You must give a detailed description of the attack and leave the rest of the battle to the roll of the dice.
Attacking: Before posting an attack, Gaia gives you the option to roll dice. Roll two D20 dice. Type the attack and click post. At the top of the post, both results will show. The first one is your attack; the second is the other character’s reaction. At the top of the posts, the numbers will be shown in order. If the first result is higher than the second die, the attack has it the opponent. If the result is a tie, look at tie results.
A hit attack: The character being hit will type a description of a hit according to the description of the attack. No attacks will kill a character unless the kill rules are used.
Attacking Back: You may attack back in the same post when a character was hit or not. If the character is attacking back, follow the rules for Attacking.
Killing: (Killing must be approved by both parties, or when the battle explains a character in a position to be killed regardless of approval by both characters.) Killing follows the guidelines like Attacking. The difference is in the amount of dice. Instead of two dice, there are four dice. The first dice is your kill, the rest are for the reaction of the other character. In order for the kill to be successful, the first number rolled must be higher than the last three. If one is a tie, look at tie results.
Tie Results: In an event of a tie, the reaction of the receiving character has two options. The first option is to stop the attack by a stalemate move that renders both characters in a struggle to overpower the other, or the character may take the hit and have one automatic attack hit back ONLY IF THE ATTACKER DESCRIBED A CLOSE PHSYCAL ATTACK. Look at Overpowering for more details. If the tie result is in a killing attack, the player is hit with lethal damage or pain, but does not die. The receiving character must wait for their next post to attack.
Overpowering: If a character decides to have a power struggle because of a tie or a roleplay situation, the character with the highest level will overpower. The effect of overpowering would be a force that pushes the loser back, but is not counted as a hit. Though this may draw blood depending on the situation! If both players are even, either character may break the struggle, but no one can overpower.
