The Story
About a year ago, a group of young adults moved into an empty shop. The new business, however, stirred some controversy in the town. Why, you may ask? Did the young owners display obscene things in the windows? Was the store's purpose morally questionable? Some may have said so. The business the group of young friends started wasn't your run of the mill business: it was a paranormal research organization, as their city and the area around it seemed to be a hot bed for strange activity, including demonic happening, hauntings, and generally strange and unexplained disappearances.
Though most of the strange phenomenon had been covered up one way or another, that couldn't last forever. A storm is brewing now in this city. Will you help, will you fight, or will you look the other way?

The Setting
Densville, North Carolina, is a city about the size of Chicago, set amongst sprawling mountains. However, even with this large size, it contains a disproportionate number of paranormal happenings. So, somewhere in the middle of the city, nestled between two other discreet buildings, there is the headquarters of the DPRC.
The DPRC Office is a building consisting of a few floors. One of the building's defining characteristics is its astounding ability to get almost anyone lost within its halls. Only those who truly spend all their time there can navigate around with ease. Anyone else might as well be going through a maze. It is not uncommon to see something inside it (or something on the exterior) damaged from the DPRC's most recent battle. For example, the main door was recently knocked off the hinges and was haphazardly reattached to its door frame.
The Plot
The DPRC or 'The Department,' as most of its employees call it, was created by three friends. Its goal is to bring the true colors of the city's strange tragedies and happenings into the light. To accomplish this, the DPRC has established three main branches.
- 1. The Tech Department: The members of this branch set up, monitor, and care for all of the equipment, no matter what that equipment may be. All are quite skilled in electronics. They also do most of the main research at case sights.
2. The Spiritualist Department: The members of this branch all have spiritual powers, such as being able to see aura, being able to move objects with their minds, being able to communicate with the dead, and so on. They do a bit of research at case sights but not as much as tech department, because while they are able to help find spirits easily, spiritualists are also the most susceptible to attack.
3. The Demonology Department: This branch of the department is, as its name would suggest, focused on demon activity in cases. Sadly, this branch usually gets stuck with researching backgrounds of people and places and doing other such grunt work because demon activity is less common than other kinds. They usually carry a vast number of different objects, such as weapons designed for supernatural foes, books, and 'holy' objects.
