-Rayne helped pull him to his feet, and started to carry him to the house. I swear the wind must be trying to blow me over. The door to the shack was hanging ajar, allowing some snow to blow in.- Crap, I should have shut the dang door before I went running after you. -Rayne and Yuri were approaching the door at this point.- Be careful when I set you down, I think your wound is starting to clot finally. -Rayne looked backwards seeing a trail of blood in the snow. She shuddered, knowing that the other shapeshifter would be back.- -Once they reached the house, Rayne looked around. There was a pile of bedding in the far right corner with a few tattered blankets, next to that was a chest containing everything she owned. There was a Rickety table and three stools in the center of the room, and a pile of snow drifting in from the open door. There was a cupboard with some beat up cook wear and a few rags next to the door, and a broomstick and shovel. A wood burning stove was set by the far left wall, but overall it was still a tiny house.- Well... This is home. -Rayne half carried Yuri to her bedding, and set him down very carefully.- Try not to move too much, I'm trying to get a fire started.. still. -It was still freezing in the shack.- Dang it.

Ivan walked to his men. What are you waiting for? I said Attack! He noticed them shivering, and then one started walking with a drunken gait*. Of course. He grabbed some of the vampires, and threw them into their tent. Idiots, go to your tents. Any of you still sober enough to fight, follow me. Ivan tried to shift again, but his eye burned, and the material began to rip his skin. That shot he got on my eye has changed the game...but I'm a wily one. I think, that this is going to be the most interesting battle I've waged in a long time. Ivan looked behind him, and only his faithful general drunkenly followed. Breathing a sigh of disappointment, Ivan walked back to her. Devyn, back to the tent. I-I-I'm f-fi-fine. Ivan threw his hammer into a nearby tree, burying it deep into trunk. Come on. There's a time for fighting, and a time for resting. Ivan grabbed her and picked her up. She moved up and kissed him. Ivan stopped, and looked at her. You know it can't keep doing this again. The drunken vampire cried a single tear, and buried her face in his chest, softly crying. He walked slowly to his tent, and opened the door. By the time he laid her on the floor of the tent, she was asleep, her face still a little wet. He went back outside, and slowly scouted the area. It was a risk, but if he lit the forest before the camp, the flames would jump with the wind, and the camp would be uneffected. Coincidentally, the wolves would be killed or forced to flee. Grabbing some gun powder, he carved a hole deep into a nearby tree, and after filling the hole with powder, shot it. As the tree, and then the forest caught on fire exactly as he planned, he slowly strutted triumphantly back to his tent...until he heard a cracking. Miscalculations...why do I keep making them? He realized the tree that he had shot was the same one he had damaged with his hammer. The shot had caught it aflame, and it was too weak to handle it. Ivan tried to dodge the tree, but as he jumped aside, a large branch landed square in the center of his back. H-He-Help me....
*Werewolf blood is the equivalent of moonshine to vampires. Though it also is an excellent source of oxygen rich food, it makes them incredibly drunk.

Ivan let the waves of defeat flood his body. All he had strived for, his 300 years as a king, 4 years in a war, and a month of near misses and almosts in finding the leader of the werewolf army. All was lost...and in a way, he was relieved. He worked so hard for enemies to attack him, for his own to degrade his image and his likenesses, and the woman he loved he could never be with because she wasn't from a royal bloodline. To make up for this, she had joined the military, but even as a high-ranking officer, she still couldn't even lick his boots. Only if she was proclaimed a heroine would even a thought of exclusion be made. Suddenly a wolf walked up to him, and started nudging Ivan's burning body. Ivan ignored it. Go away, you annoying thing. Can't you see I just want to die? As if in retaliation, the wolf pulled at his arm, dragging him from under the flames, and began digging snow onto him, quenching the fires blazing on him. Ivan still just lay there, half dead in body and nearly all the way in spirit. The wolf looked at him quizically, then laid down in front of him, putting his paws on his nose. Ivan passed out, just laying in the snow, ten periods of light and dark like a blur in his subconscious. Ivan dreamed his way back to his childhood, to before his father's untimely death, back to when Ivan was only 2. He had had a pet wolf, whose shining blue coat made her unique. The wolf, though worn and obviously old, looked just like him. It was then that someone found him and the wolf, just laying there in the snow. My liege! What did this creature do to you? Nothing, it saved me. Galina saved me. She's my pet. Devyn looked at Ivan, then at the wolf, then at Ivan again, and shrugged her shoulders. Picking up the weak Ivan, she carried him in her arms as the wolf kept stride. Let me walk, woman. For what, all of five steps? No way, Ivan. You're gonna have to except failure for once in your life. Failure to get your way. Galina stopped once, just for a moment, and saw a cabin about fifty yards away. She saw the door open, and a half-wolf walk out, getting some snow for water. Galina barked twice, but when she saw that her master was going the other way, she started sprinting back to his side, tongue lolling happily as she ran like the wind.
